Clearing Bank Accounts

Hi experts,
I have to configure the following:
In the end of each day, there are some bank accounts that have to be cleared to a "parent" bank account.
Any idea how to do this?

Javier

Try to take a look at cash management account clearing/cash concentration function. Tcode for create is FF73. Also take a look at relevant chapter in AC805 course. There you will find all necessary information

  • Bank Accounts and Reconciliation

    Hi, Greetings of the day!
I don't understand why 3 GL accounts required for one bank, namely Bank Main Account, Bank Receipt Account and Bank Payment account. Why can't all these be controlled by one single GL account.
    Regards
    Chirag

    Hi:
In normal business scenario there are many cases that checks gets bounced, delayed clearing from banks and many ohter issues. Furthermore you know there are different modes of collection if we talk about customers ,like getting Post dated checks from them, current dated checks. Checks may get bounced. As a matter of financial prudence you should reflect the only realistic bank balance in your main account. SAP caters this need by requiring businesses to maintain three or sometime four (4ht for Post dated checks). Collections and payments are recorded in incoming and outgoing bank accounts respectively as soon as they are received or paid. These two accounts are kept on Open item management which shows that they need to be cleared. Once you receive bank statement from bank showing the deposits in incoming accounts and payment made via outgoing account you execute Bank reconciliation statement.
Cash falsification can be avoided too using clearing bank account concepts. Normally a business has so many branches across the country, in branches which are more often considered as collection and sales centers, we give authorization of incoming bank account to them, if we start using one main account then they will start playing with bank which can lead to risk of fraud.
Clearing accounts provides fundamentals for bank reconciliation statement . If you do not want to use clearing account then BRS will of be no use for you. You can then simply use main account for all cash disbursements and collections.. The best idea in this case will be to give end users authorizations to park the transaction in main bank account , and a senior should have the authority to post the transactions. I hope it will help you clearing your concerns.

  • Clearing of open items from one Bank Account to one or several customer A/C

The requirement herein is to do the Posting & clearing of open items from one Bank Account to one or several customer Accounts. We will have to use the Standard program RFBIBL00 to achieve this because the program can do the posting and clearing of open items. I know that we will have to use the structures BSELK (Header) & BSELP (item) to get the clearing functionality as well. Now the question is to which field we will map the Bank A/C No. and the Customer Clearing A/C. I need help on mapping the data to correct structure fields. I thought about it and I think the data should be arranged like the following:
    BGR00- Session Header
    BBKPF- Header
BBSEG- Doc. data (Bank Account BBSEG-BANKN )----Can you confirm ??
    BSELK-AGKON (Customer A/C- open item/ Header )
    BSELP - Line Item
    BSELK-AGKON (Customer A/C- open item/ Header )
    BSELP - Line Item
    BSELK-AGKON (Customer A/C- open item/ Header )
    BSELP - Line Item
I know that the clearing can happen from one Bank A/C to several customer accounts. I am thinking on building up data in this format & then writing it to a file to sumbit the file data to RFBIBL00. Can anybody help me in building up the data. Kindly provide your helpful insights. I want to be sure if this is correct or not ?? One more question how to fill the BSELP structure ??

  • Clearing foreign currency payments against local currency bank account

    Hi all
We have foreign currency invoices (eg in USD, EUR) and would like to pay these from a AUD domestic bank account. Is this common practice or does the client need to enter such invoices in their external bank specific terminal to process such payments if they have a domestic currency bank account.
How does the Electronic bank Statement (which is in AUD) clear these foreign currency invoices (EFT clearing account or suspense account). I presume we would have to post to a suspense account clearing and then do a manual post with clearing after loading the bank statement.  However, the amounts do not balance to zero as i cannot clear items off as they are in different document currencies as noted below.
    INVOICE
cr vendor  100USD   200AUD - cleared by payment program
    dr expense 100USD   200AUD
    PAYMENT PROGRAM
    cr Sus clg 100USD   210AUD
dr vendor  100USD   200AUD - Cleared by payment program
    dr FX g/l    0USD    10AUD
    ELECT. BANK STATEMENT
    dr Sus clg 205AUD
    cr Cash    205AUD
What would be the standard approach for such postings from an SAP bank accounting functionality point of view.
Is there a better way of design the above payment process.

    Hi,
    this is a hard task.
You have to play with the GL account master data. See documentation for field "Only balances in local crcy". It is quite good described for the clearing in foreign currencies.
Also I have some doubts that there were settings in FI for foreign currencies clearing, but I have never customize it.
Hope I helped you (if so... points reward would be highly appreciated )

    Alex

  • Payment Run - Clearing between Customer and Vendor and Partner Bank Account

Is there a way to have the bank details for the payment to be pulled from the vendor master if an outgoing payment is created or from the customer master if an incoming payment is created? Our requirement is to consider both vendor and customer items during payment processing.  In doing so, if the net of the clearing between the customer and vendor account results in an incoming payment, we want to use the bank details specified from the customer and if the net results in an outgoing payment, we want the bank details on the vendor master to be used.
As such we tick the box on Vendor master to clear with customer and tick the box on Customer master to clear with Vendor.  We have defined 2 payment methods and entered both payment methods on both the customer and Vendor.  We have also entered the different bank accounts on the payment transactions tab of the vendor and customer masters.
It seems regardless of resulting payment method chosen, the bank details are getting pulled from the vendor master.

    Hi,
It is possible without any doing any kind of config or master data changes
While doing F-53, after entering all the required data in open item selection screen, after getting vendor open line items, go to menu item edit->select more.
There enter account type as D and company code (customer account no's comp code) and click on process open items
So you can choose the line items from the other company code's customer also.
    Thanks,
    Srinu

  • Clearing a open item with two bank accounts at a time

anybody answer the below question please
how can clear the vendor line item using two bank accounts at a time

    hi Samala,
you can do it manually in F-53, enter a bank account with amount, than enter vendor number, and click to select open items. Here don't select any open item, but click on Overview. Now you should see the item with the bank account you already entered, on the bottom of the screen you can enter a new line now, with another bank account, when it is done, you can click on process open items again, select, simulate, post, ...
    hope this helps

  • Restructuring/Changing Bank Clearing & Cash accounts in FBZP in PROD

We're restructuring our bank accounts and converting all bank clearing and cash balances.   We can transfer with or without clearing from the old G/L's to the new G/L's but the issue is the existing postings from the payment run in PAYR.
    1)  Has anyone done this in a live environment?
    2)  Does anyone know of a program that will change the G/L number on posted documents within tables without having to convert/re-post the data?
    3) Any thoughts as to what to do with existing payments in PAYR table that have yet to be cleared but are still documented on the old house bank, bank acct id's and old G/L's?
    thanks.

    Hi,
The documents which are referring are like reconciliation items between Bank and the Ledger - may be entries related to last 4 or 5 days before the cut off date. Yes, when the transaction FCHR or FCKR is executed, the system will look at the new GL Accounts.
How often do you get the file from Bank. Is it anyway possible on the next working day after the cutoff date. I remember in one of my earlier clients, Bank used to send the file the very next day after the month end close. If you can get the file on the next day - then you can execute FCHR / FCKR and then transport the changes to Production client.
If this is not possible, it may be more complex. Only option I can think of is to manually repost the entries to old accounts.
    Thanks
    Murali.

  • Clearing balance in Bank account

    Hi Guys,
I have bank account with EUR curreny but my local currency INR, now we are closing account and made the clearing document with EUR currency. The clearning document is posted in EUR and now if we go FS10N system is showing some balance in the account INR currency due to exchange rate difference. (Note: Balance is showing only local currency and not EUR currench in Same account).
It should be go to exchange rate loss/ Gain account, now i can not transfer the amount to exchange rate loss/ Gain account because the account is maintaing in EUR.
Kindly suggest me in this regard.
    Reg,
    Raj.

    Raja,
Please use transactin F-03 to clear the trasnactions in your bank ledger.
In selection screen of F-03 give currency as EUR, since you have 0 balance in EUR currency. Then system will get the net balance in local currency as exchange rate diff.
May be while doing your F-03 entry, you might get one error also like....
Exch rate diff accounts not maintained for GL account <your bank GL acc no> for currency INR
So for this you need to maitntain the exchange rate diff accounts for your bank accounts through OB09.
    This will fix your issue.
    Thanks,
    Srinu

  • Clearing Difference in Foreign Credits House Bank Account

    Dear All,
We are facing a problem while clearing a Foreign Credits House Bank Account. While clearing an account through F-03 the system is prompting an entry to be posted in Exchange Difference Gain/Loss Account. Now such an entry was never prompted. It is also observed that there is a difference in the Valuated amounts and local currency amounts of the open items. Now we never post exchange valuation entries for Bank account (Entries always posted for Vendor & Customer Reconciliation Accounts). What could be the reason for the difference? Is this got anything to do with F.05 Foreign Currency Valuation. We do not post entries through F.05. We just run the report for the Vendors.
    Please suggest a way out.
    Regards,
    Sonali.

Please check the clearing details of your transaction. The system must be creating gain/loss in local currency. consider the following example..
AT the time of transaction Recording (Rate was 80)
US $(Foreign Currency)     Pak Rs (Local Currency)
Bank In Account   Debit                           100          8,000
         Receivable credit                 100               8,000
At time of reconciliation (clearing with ff67) system created  following  entries using rate 78 at the time of clearing which is wrong. should should clear the bank on the statement date (value datea of transaction) and not clearing date.
    Bank account Debit               100                    7,800
Bank in Account Credit               100                    8,000
Exchange Gain Loss debit               0                     200
The gain/loss account is debited by 200 in local currency but no impact in foreign currency...
i hope i made it clear...

  • Clearing Bank Sub-account using F-03 creates FX diff for FX invoice

I make payments in foreign currency with my online FX provider.
I enter the invoice (FB60) in foreign currency (eg IDR 200,000,000).
I then clear the invoice with a payment (F-53) again in foreign currency (eg IDR 200,000,000), overriding the SAP generated OB52 FX rate to match the FX rate that was actually used when purchasing the IDRs to make the payment.
The withdrawal from our bank account (eg AUD 25,000) is posted via FF_5.
The local currency amount of the Payment is the same. (eg AUD 25,000)
Viewing the bank sub-account in FAGLL03 shows a debit and a credit of AUD 25,000.
When I manually clear the bank sub-account using F-03, I set the currency to the local currency (AUD).  The amounts from the payment side now appear as different AUD amounts.
I select the transactions that I want to clear.  There is a balance which becomes zero when you toggle between Clearing Currency and Local Currency when you click the "Clearing Curr <> Local Curr" button.
I am forced to charge off the Clearing Currency difference and enter an FX gain or loss item.
When I simulate, SAP automatically generates offsetting FX gain or loss items.  They have Document Currency AUD zero amount, Local Currency AUD non-zero amount and post to the Cost Centre that the original expense was posted to on the FB60 invoice.
Is there a way to avoid these FX transactions as all I'm doing is a clearing for bank reconciliation purposes on amounts that are the equal?  There is no actual FX gain or loss.

    Hi,
When you select open items within clearing procedures, the amount in local currency is recalculated as at the translation date/clearing date from the foreign currency amount.
The solution is we have to set flag u2018No exchange rate differences for clearing in local currencyu2019 through SAP Configuration (Transaction code: OBY6).

  • G/L manual clearing of  bank account

From sub bank account I separate transaction into payment & receipts then transfer both to cash in bank account. Next, I carry out clearing at F-03 using the FIFO basis. However, those transactions which involve the inter-company, (eg payment received on behalf / expenses paid on behalf) that has the trading partner element could not be cleared by the non inter-company transactions.
How to solve this? Kindly help me. Thank you

Check the Company Code Global Data (t-code OBY6) to see if "No forex rate diff. when clearing in LC" is checked.  Changing this setting from unchecked to checked resolved a similar issue at my company.

  • Link between bank account and clearing accounts

    hi
kindly tell me where we will link bank account(main account) with bank clearing accounts
    thanks
    sreeni..

In customizing of Electronic bank statement, choose "make global settings for Electronic Bank statement".
In this use "create account symbols" for creating a symbolic account with the name of your choice.
Then use "assign accounts to account symbol" and assign your clearing account.
In "Define Posting rules", you can now use the symbolic name of the clearing account.

  • Business Area is not getting updated in "Main Bank Account" Line item (FF_5

    Hi Gurus,
I am executing T Code: FF_5 for uploading the "Multi-Cash" Format. This transaction clears the Bank Clearing Account and post the entry to the credit of "Bank Main Account".
Now while i had executed F110, the Business area was properly captured in the Bank Clearing Account Line item. But while executing FF_5, the Business Area is not getting captured against the "Main Bank Account" Line item.
Can you please tell me how to capture the Business Area against the "Main Bank Account" Line item.
    Rgds,
    Prasad.

    Hi,
    1. In case of Business where payments are made centrally it is important to report
        Bank A/c Business area wise.
    2. However I have solved the problem by doing "Sustitution", and its working fine. The Business Area is getting updated against the Main Bank Account Line item.
    3. I am however getting one error while doing the upload in FF_5. The error occurs
only if Business Area is a "required" field in Bank Account's "Field Status
       Group".
Error: (00 298) Formatting error in the field COBL-GSBER ; see next message.
But if I make Business Area as an Optional Field I am not getting an error and
also the posting is done to Main Bank Account.
Is there anyother method by which this error can be corrected.
I have assigned 2 points for your inputs. Can you help me to solve this error as well.
