Clearing connections

Hello Guys
Finalising best way of getting rid of client connections which are not in use in following scenerio:
client machines are rebooted few times particular month due to some bug in application
same time before restarting they want all connections for that client to be removed from database server
currently its automated dyanamic sql script running alter system kill immediate ; sessions id of such clients are passed to script and connections are removed without any issue
to automate it further is there any good idea
dcd(dead connection detection) may not work since machines are rebooted by the time ,it try to ping the client
it is restarted and ping might be successful so dcd will take no action, also dcd appears not very consistent rely on tcp network delays before final confirmation of ping response also due to bugs and overhead for using it
thinking of scheduling cron overnight to remove such zombie sessions instead of running script
anyone handled such task differently please update
thanks

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. If the problem isn't solved, ask for further instructions.
    1. Are the current date (including the year) and time shown on your system clock? If not, correct them and test.
    2. Disable any third-party firewall, "security" software, or network filter.

    4. The process by which OS X checks the validity of root SSL certificates doesn't work behind the authenticating SOCKS proxies used on some enterprise networks. If applicable, contact your network administrator. The proxy server may need to have its settings changed.

  • Clear Connection statistics WAE

How do we clear connection stats in monitoring option in WAE ? I went to CLI and run "clear statis all" but could not clear "connection summary table" in "monitoring" display.
    thanks
    Serhat

I don't think this connection summary screen is reflecting what has been happening. I have disconnected the link (all sessions broken), it still shows connections that started 11 and 6 hours ago.Besides, I am running Netflow in the branch router that shows 64 MB of Notes traffic sent to the branch but connection summary does not have any stats on it. I might report this to TAC.

  • Clearwire's CLEAR connecting to WRTP54G

I've been a Clearwire customer for years, and have had no problems with their modem and the WRTP54G working with each other.  Today I got my new CLEAR WiMAX modem and now the WRTP54G will not connect.  When I plug directly into the modem all is well, when I plug the router in, I get plenty of signal and it appears to login just fine, but I can't get out on the internet.  Are there new settings for the router now that I have the new modem?

As you have changed the modem, you need to reconfigure the router as per the ISP settings...Connect the modem to the router on internet port and the computer to the router on ethernet port.login to the linksys GUI and configure it.Check this link.

  • Internet connection failed... when I'm clearly connected to the Internet

I've been trying, for the last 10+ hours or so, to update my iPad to iOS7.
Each time I do, it fails. (Error code 3004)
At the point it failed the iPad has become useless... when I power it up I just get the iTunes logo and the USB plug.
I have tried every single thing listed on the Help page, from changing Firewall Settings, to uninstalling iTunes and all associated programs, to resetting the computer, to connecting directly to my modem, etc etc etc. All this to no avail.
I'm clearly still connected to the internet, but iTunes thinks I am not, and therefore cannot restore/update my iPad.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi there RaceAddict,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes can't contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software isn't interfering with ports 80 or 443 or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow these steps to troubleshoot security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (go to "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you're using a proxy, try again without using a proxy.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.

every time I try to export photos from mac mini iphoto to snapfish is says check network connection, but the internet is working great.  I have updated everything i can think of please help.

Several people including myself are having the same issue and have contacted HP and Apple. Quite frankly, I'm surprised it's been an issue for so long being that photos uploaded to Snapfish = $$$.  Lets hope they can work this one out, as of now, there apparently is no solution.

  • HT4623 Cannot update from iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 7...says that I cannot verify because I am not connected to the internet when I am clearly connected to the internet. I've tried from home and school.  Now what?

I am trying to update an iPad 2 to iOS 7.  It hasn't updated since iOS 6.1.3.  When I try to update it, I get a msg box that tells me I cannot verify because I am not connected to the internet.  This is not true because I AM connected to the internet here at school.  I've tried at home and it does the same thing.  What to do now?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • IPod touch won't connect to computer after failed update?????

A few days ago, I had received a new cable to update my iPod touch from Amazon. This cable is not made by Apple. I have had two cables in the past from Apple, one that came with my 1st Generation Nano and one that came with my iPod touch. The former cable is the older version of the cable, while the latter is the newer version. A year ago the newer cable that came with the iPod touch broke. So I bought a new one from Apple. Then that one broke in June. Because I did not want to spend any money on a new one, I just used my old cable. It worked for a while until it stopped functioning. I have not updated my iPod touch until recently when I had purchased this new cable (which looks like the older version of the cable). It had updated my sister's 4 year old Video iPod and my 1st generation Nano. When I had plugged in my iPod touch with this new cable, my Compaq Presario V6000 laptop said it was syncing the iPod. But on the iPod screen it was saying the opposite. It was allowing me to use my iPod while Syncing it. Recently it has been doing that, when this iPod was brand new it was saying syncing, cancel to unsync. Now here is where the problem with my iPod has occured. So on the sync page on iTunes it said that there was a new update ready for my iPod. So I clicked update and allowed iTunes to download the software, extract the old software, and back it up. But in the middle of backing it up, it said my iPod was disconnected from my computer. When it was clearly connected to my laptop. I unconnected my iPod and reconnected. Now it said it was connected. It said I had to restore my iPod to its original settings and while it was doing so, it said that my iPod had disconnected again, while it was clearly plugged into the computer. Now my iPod won't even update at all. And every time I press the hold button it shows the symbol for itunes and the cable, meaning that I should be connecting to itunes, even though it is hooked up to the computer but not being recognized. The cable works though, because right after this I had updated my Nano to see if the cable was broken. I forgot to mention that similar problems with connecting and disconnecting occurred with the other plugs to, but not to this extent. Can anybody please help me solve this problem? Could it be the cord? My ipod? My laptop(I would say that it is my laptop's fault, seeing that it is a piece of garbage. But I tried connecting my iPod to my sister's macbook pro and it did not work either)? Would you recommend me to just bring my ipod, the new cable, and my laptop to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and ask them in person??
*Sorry if some of the wording does not make sense. If you need any other information ask me. I want this solved as soon as possible.*

Could there be a problem that is happening to my ipod right now that is not associated with a usb cable problem? I want to avoid buying a new cable until I eliminate all other problems that I could have. If it is not a cable problem I don't want to spend money on something that is not necessary at the moment.
By the way, by following your advice with my current cable, iTunes recognized my iPod, and said you must restore this iPod before you can use it with iTunes. I clicked on restore. It extracted the software and once that was done it said Preparing iPod for restoring. It started to do it but then it said "The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (13)."

  • Switcher found "You are not connected to the Internet" message confusing

While demonstrating to my brother - a long-time Windows user - that an iMac solved all the problems with Windows XP that he is constantly complaining about to me, he saw Safari's "You are not connected to the Internet" message when the web server for the page didn't respond very quickly. (There wasn't any network problem, or anything wrong with Safari. MacOS or the iMac.) Clicking the 'Reload current page' button brought the web page up. He was angry, saying that the iMac was clearly connected to the Internet as he'd seen me plug in the network cable! He's using this as one of his reasons that "PCs are superior to Macs"!
While I think this is probably a bit of "I don't want to admit that I've been wrong" coming from him (his Windows system has been riddled with malware several times, despite him having kept up to date with Windows updates, using the Windows firewall, a broadband router with firewall, and having tried several anti-virus suites!), I must admit that he has a (limited!) point.
Couldn't the developers cause Safari to display the message "The web page you have requested is not immediately available, still trying - please wait." instead and then, if the web page cannot be displayed after (say) three minutes, and some kind of autromatic diagnostics show that the system still has a network connection, the message "That web page is apparently not available." Only if behind-the-scenes diagnostics show that the Mac has lost its network connection should one ever see the "You are not connected to the Internet" message, in my opinion.
    MacBook 1 etc   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I have the same problem; if I leave the computer on long enough (usually asleep overnight), when I wake it up, Safari will present the "You are not connected to the Internet" message for any page, and Mail will display the exclamation-point-in-a-triangle for all accounts that says it's offline. Yes, Software Update also complains of a "network problem."
Meanwhile, Firefox or SSH sessions via Terminal will work fine, and both network diagnostics and System Preferences claim that the machine is, indeed, connected just fine with an IP lease and everything. This is over a wired Ethernet connection, and, yes, I've tried swapping the cable between the Mac Pro's two jacks.
I'm a long-time Mac user. I've fixed disk permissions; I've flushed Safari's cache; I've done everything described here. Rebooting always fixes the problem -- but it then recurs when the machine has sat or slept for long enough.
Since Safari and Mail are both affected, while Firefox and shell connections are not, it seems fairly clear it must be a bug in some part of the OS relating to both those Internet products. It doesn't cripple the machine, but it's definitely inconvenient, which is not what I expect from Apple products.

  • Unable to connect to Airport Extreme on a daily basis without reseting the router

I have an Airport Extreme Router connected directly to my cable modem.  My Airport Utilities are current and router is set to 7.5.2 firmware (latest).  I have nine devices set to connect via wireless and three that are connected via cable.  I am not using the 5ghz as there are some older devices that will not connect.  On a daily basis all of the wireless systems will not connect.  I get a password incorrect on low signal error.  I have reset the password from over eight characters to eight to see if that was the issue.  No dice.  I have to manually unplug the router and the wait for it to reset then all the devices will connect.  The three devices I have connected directly do not have this issue.
I have deleted the network configurations from the devices and tried to reconnect but I get the same error, password incorrect or signal not found even when it shows that I have five green bars.  I have the router set to assign DHCP and changed the lease to 60 days.  Since the router does not have UPnP, I have a few ports open to allow my XBox and PS3 clear connection.  I have also reset the whole router and started it from scratch.  Rebuilding the network with a different name, password and such.
I have seen on the board that others are having issues with this.  Aside from disconnecting the power from the router I have not found a solution.  This issue started a month or so ago. Does anyone have a solution?  Is this a result of updating the firmware to 7.5.2 which came out in July?  Or is there something that I am completely missing in troubleshooting?

The router has been working for a bout a year or more.  Would it suddenly go snafu and need to be replaced?  Seems to me it would be having the issue from the start.

  • SSLM optimistic connection handling?

    Hi,
If this is posted in the wrong place please let me know.
The behaviour seen in the CSM/SSLM setup we're using indicates that the SSLM is being optimistic about the authentication process and initiating the clear connection before it's completed the certificate authentication.
Is there a way to disable this connection handling so that it only initiates the clear connection when it has successfully completed the SSL authentication?
