Click sound heard when clip audio is at 0

I am using iMovie 9.0.4.  I have several video clips in my movie, with audio from a .aiff file througout.  The video clips I am using have audio, but I don't want to hear it, so it set it to zero for each one.  But with video clips with especially loud audio, even when set to zero, I hear a click sound when they start, as it it is late by 5ms in attenutating the audio to zero.

  • Powerbook clicking sound being recorded to audio track

I'm trying to record audio cd using internal microphone of my powerbook onto Garageband 08. When I replay the track I am hearing an internal clicking sound, presumably from the guts of the laptop. I have two questions:
First, Is there a way to minimize this?
Second, would using an external microphone stop this completely or would there still be background noise?
Please note it is basic meditation audio cd with no music going to be incorporated
    Thank you all

assuming that it really is the hard drive or fan (etc), then a USB mic that you can set a distance away from the machine should help, yes.

  • What does it mean when my MacBook makes a clicking sound, and when I turn it off and back on again all I get is a folder icon with a ? in it?

My MacBook made a clicking sound.  I turned it off for 5 minutes, then restarted it.  Now all I get is a folder with a ? on it.  Is my battery fried?

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the Operating System data on the hard drive is somehow corrupted.
Put your install DVD into the optical drive and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'llsee a panel asking you to choose your language. Just press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.

  • Headphone noise (pop sound) heard when switching to audio.

Has anyone encountered a popping noise when the start listening to audio (MP3s, starting a call, etc.) through their headphones?  I am wondering whether this may be a design flaw, a setup issue, a hardware problem with my BB Curve 8830 or with the headphones themselves.  I am using the headphones that came with the unit.  I have had this problem from day one and it's really irritating.  Thanks, Dan.

I have the same problem, actually two different pops.  The first is a loud pop when using any kind of headphone or speaker, right when the music is about to start, almost identical to the old pop when one placed a needle down on a vinyl LP.  (Anyone here young enough to remember those?)
The second is a softer but clearly audible pop between songs - however - this one is only audible using certain headphones and particularly speakers (like PC speakers).   What is with this?  Surely this is fixable - hello RIM ??
Any hints appreciated.  My Curve is new, from Verizon, and appears to be using system 4.3.  Will look into updates on that.
Not to hijack the thread, but perhaps I can toss out my other Media Player problem.  I had trouble downloading with WMP and Roxio so I am using MediaMonkey - I can get songs, album art, and even playlist names but when I check the playlists on the Curve, they are empty.   Anyone run into this?  I have MMS enabled, USB support, etc.    Thanks !

  • How do i get my sound back when the audio jack is trapped and prevents soun

my macbook dropped on the floor and there was a wire linking the laptop to speakers. however a piece of wire from this lead was stuck in the macbook making the computer think that there is an audio out when there isn't.
without having to change the whole motherboard at £500 can someone suggest another was to make a seperate audio output considering one output is broken
any suggestions would be really appreciated!
    thanks

Getting a Griffin iMic would work. It's a USB input/output device and you can use it as your audio out.

  • Intermittent Sound Dropping When Streaming Audio

I've just step up my new Apple TV and streaming from my shared iTunes library over wireless network is great.. However when I stream using airplay on my iPad 3 or iPhone 5 the sound drops intermittently, as if the signal wasn't getting through, if you know what I mean! sometimes drops altogether and airplay on the device seems to switch off.
I can't see any settings that I could change even if I wanted to (or knew what to!) and it seems strange that it works fine from the pc but not from the other Apple products.
The wireless signal is obviously ok, or could it be the wireless bits n the iPhone/Pad are not as good as in the pc? Clutching at straws a bit here, hope someone out there can help.
    Thanks.

Thanks for posting this because I too have the Pioneer VSX-1019AH and have just noticed this problem. I rarely listen to my iphone (ipod) through my receiver and this problem never occured before until yesterday.
I am experiencing a sound loss at random times, and it takes restarting the receiver, or disconnecting then reconnecting the iphone cable to get the sound back again, only for it to go off again in a few moments time.
Whilst the sound is off, both the iphone and receiver are continuing to play music because you can see the title of the tracks change on both devices. So where the fault lies is hard to tell but I'd say it's with the ios4.
I don't know whether Apple will provide any support regarding this problem but I do notice the receiver has been endorsed "made for ipod" which means it meets Apple performance standards.

  • 'Whoosh' sound heard when sending an email, immediately...

When I send an email with a particulary large attachment (I have a slow internet connection) I often hear the 'whoosh' sound played immediately, even though it's quite clear the email coulnd't have possibly been sent so quickly.
I think this has led to me sending an email, hearing the 'whoosh' sound and immediatley shutting my Macbook lid, putting it to sleep. Subsequently, the email never gets sent until I open Mail on my Macbook again.
This is annoying because I've 'sent' an important email recently, and then found it never reached its recipient and was sitting in the Mail outbox when I used my Macbook a few hours later.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks, in advance
*This issue didn't seem to occur when my Macbook was running OS X Lion.

    How is this iPhone related?

  • New Mac Pro makes 'clicking' sound when picked up / inverted

    Hello,
    I've recently purchased a new mac pro - 3.5GHz 6-core, 32GB ram, 512 GB, D700.
So far so good with this unit - it seems to be a solid machine - albeit one tiny question...... I generally use it in a shared office environment, so at the end of the day pack the unit into a flight ready peli case. When picking the unit up, it makes an internal clicking sound (especially when rotating the machine over it's axis).
I might be complaining about nothing here.....but with having to move the machine a couple times a day, with air travel with it planned soon, i'd like to be assured that some internal component's not going to fall off in transit.
Does anyone have a similar issue? Possibly there's no cause for concern.
    Many thanks.
    Morgan.

    lllaass suggestion makes sense.
The standard orientation is upright, and there is no strong reason to limit the end-play on the fan motor shaft. Even when placed horizontally, the fan would settle into one position when spinning and stay there.

  • Clicking sound between shots

    HELP!!
I've captured all of my footage into final cut express (camcorder: Sony HDR HC7) and there's an audio problem. I've noticed that final cut captures video in pieces from camcorders. I've taken these pieces, placed some I/O points on them and put them in the timeline. In the canvas, when I play the entire project, there is this 'click' sound between each clip. No matter where the I/O points are, as soon as one clip ends and the slider continues onto the next clip, this clicking sound happens. I've tried exporting the video and it's still there!! When I preview the clips in the viewer and there is no click. Please help me someone!!
    Brendan

    Hi(Bonjour)!
What are clips and sequence properties? (select their icon and use contextual menu to get this info).
    Did you render audio mixdown?

  • Sleep button used to have a click sound

My phone is 4 days old and I remember hearing a "click" sound effect when pressing the sleep/wake button. After a day or two it stopped, and makes no sound. I've checked settings and there is no option for it. Do other people's make this sound when putting your phone to sleep?

Hi TechFrency, This happened to me. Make sure you don't have your phone vibrate mode only. The button on the top left side. If it has a red dot then it's in vibrate only. This will silence the clicking sound.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why the click sound is not working after publishing?

    Hello all.
I have around 190-200 slides in my project. I want my mouse object to have the click sound in some slides and without click sound in rest of the slides.
Using its properties panel I have added click sound for the required slides. But after  publishing the project I am unable to hear the click sound. When I refresh the page I could hear the sound. Why does this happen?
    Regards,
    Kartik.P

    Hi,
Do you face this problem even with a single slide project? Because this seems to be working fine at our end.
Also, is it an upgraded project, single click or double click?? Does it happen only on few slides or all slides with mouse click sound.
    Thanks,
    Sikandar

  • Clicking sound from fan

My pavilion g7 1002sa which is only 8 months old has always had an annoying clicking sound from when it was purchased from new.
I thought that it would disappear with usage, but after altering the BIOS Settings to disable the continual fan running option it is still
there. While on Skype friends have complained and described it like someone using an old typewriter in the background.
    This question was solved.

Sounds like the fan needs to be replaced. Since you are under warranty that is going to mean sending it in for repair. Call HP Service and make arrangements to do so.
