Client compare using SCU0 - system load - doubt

Hi
I am planning to compare my Dev customization client with Production client. I will be using SCU0 for this activity. I will be performing application components for comparison.
I have a query related to this,
1. While performing client compare , what are the things that we need to take care? I know that we need authorization, RFC connections etc...
2. What will be the load in source and target system? As the comparison will happen via RFC ,any precautionary measures need to be taken before the activity?
Please share your experience on this regard.
Best regards,
VInodh.

Hello,
Run any client compare/copy procedure ie run test run .
Hope It will give some results for y'r requirement , depends on the scenario !!
Note: Points always encourage me to reply !!

  • How to install forms 6i runtime using windows Systems Management Server?

    Hi,
Our clinents are using oracle forms 5 application and we want to upgrade to forms 6i ( client /server ).
How to install oracle forms 6i and reports 6i runtime in multiple client machines
using windows systems management server instead of installing one by one manually.
    Regards

Here is a quick summary on why this works...
    The Problem:
The issue relies with the method and logic that MDT’s scripts use to query and validate that the proper disks, partitions and storage space reside before starting the installation of Windows.
Essentially what you have configured in the Task Sequence and the UNATTEND.xml is analyzed by the MDT scripts then a validation is completed against the hardware in which you wish to install Windows
on and if there are any errors you will be prompted with MDT Error or Warning dialogs.
The problem is that the MDT scripts use WMI to query the hard disk, partition and free space requirements for Windows, but in the case of using GPT disk, the 2nd partition (MSR) that you have to create
is hidden. The class that WMI uses for its query can’t see the MSR partition so instead of 3 partitions, it returns 2 in the query results; hence why DISK 0 PARTITION 3 doesn’t work as mentioned earlier when configured in the MDT Task Sequence.
Although the above still confuses me as to why it works with DISK 0 PARTITION 2 since the WMI query results return PARTITION IDs 0 and 1 when it should return 1 and 2…
The Windows Pre-Installation Environment however does see all 3 partitions correctly and we tried configuring in our Task Sequence to install Windows to DISK 0 and PARTITION 2 and in the UNATTEND.xml
file to install Windows to DISK 0 and PARTITION 3 but due to timing issues of the way Windows installs with MDT, did this not work for us.

  • Comparing and Asjusting data b/w two systems using SCU0 Transaction

I need to compare and adjust data between two systems for tables T006 , T006A  . I am using Transaction SCU0 for comparison . It is giving me comparison results  , but  coz of some reason Button for adjusting data is not active for me .
If I do the same thing using SM30 ,  Adjust button is coming after comparison  . I don't have maintinance views available for these tables otherwise i would have used SM30 . I want to do that using SCU0 only . Any idea how can I make  Adjust button active  .

  • Data Load Error after Client copy on Source System

We did a client copy to our QAS source system.  After that was complete, I tried to do a couple of full data loads.  But they fail.  The only errors I see are on the source system when I try to manual update the Idocs.  They are:
    EDI: Partner Profile not available
Entry in inbound table not found
Is there a step I need to take after the client copy and before the loads?  I have a feeling that I'm forgeting something.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
    Check the following.
1> Go to WE20 check whether you are able to see two logical system in "Partner Type LS" one for Source and one for Myself.
2> If you say Yes for <1> then check in both the logical system, in the classification tab, partner status should be 'active'.
3> Check you have used REMOTE USER in main and in Outbound and inbound Parameters "Post Processing Permitted tab " for each Message type.
4> go to out bound message type and check the "Receiver port" pointing to correct RFC destination for both ( Source and Myself logical system).
If your answer is no for <1> then perform all the steps.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Using 10.6 NetBoot v1.0 with Tiger client images on PPC tray-loading iMacs

Hi all - I'm a bit confused over some documentation I'm reading. I'm reviewing the "System Imaging and SW Update Admin" guide for Snow Leopard Server (available at http://images.apple.com/server/macosx/docs/SystemImaging_and_SW_Update_Adminv10.6.pdf) and am puzzled on a few things.
We have several older tray-loading iMacs that currently have client images served up from an old Xserve running OS X Server (Tiger). In the first part of the guide, I saw that the Snow Leopard System Image utility would not work for creating images from older PPC-based systems. However, later in the guide it refers to enable NetBoot 1.0 (which can run alongside NetBoot 2.0) for older clients - specifically including the tray-loading iMac.
So my question is, how can I go about retiring the old Xserve and still serve/maintain these Tiger client images on Snow Leopard Server?
Can I simply copy the images to the share point in the new Snow Leopard Server and enable NetBoot 1.0? Would I need to create a new image (using the Snow Leopard Server System Image Utility) that starts from a source Tiger installation disc and then add appropriate software as packages? Or can I simply use those existing images (with what I presume means software cannot be added) and serve them up on Snow Leopard Server?
Basically, I have those tray-loading iMacs running a fairly minimal setup (base operating system, ability to join to our LDAP server, and very lightweight open source programs). As (if) they die, we are replacing them with newer Intel-based systems. Having said that, there are still at least 9 or so of these tray-loading iMacs quietly humming along with no indication of failure in the near future (nice job, Apple). It's not a problem if I cannot add software to the images (as it seems most software would require Leopard anyway) - but I would like to serve these up on the network. Any thoughts/ideas?

You can copy your existing images to the 10.6 server, enable NetBoot 1.0, and they will be served up just fine. The only thing you would need 10.4 server for is to create new images.

  • Use of SQL*Loader and Thin Client

I have a java application that is currently using the thin client. For portability issues, I am unable to use an OCI driver. My application also uses SQL*Loader.
My big issue is that The Thin client requires the HOST and SID for a connection.
But, for SQL*Loader to work in a client/server environment it needs to use the SERVICE_NAME and net8. Is there any way to have SQL*Loader use similar information that the thin client is using?
I know the right solution is to use the OCI drivers, but right now that is not feasible.
Thanks for any help in advance

    Navigation Technologies.

I assume you are using an ObjectInputStream. Without seeing your code or a snippet I can't be certain...
The JDBC spec says the following about ObjectInputStream :
"An ObjectInputStream deserializes primitive data and objects previously written using an ObjectOutputStream"
Since there was nothing written by ObjectOutputStream, ObjectInputStream has nothing to deserialize and this exception would be raised.

  • Can I use LabVIEW to load data directly into system memory? The serial card I'm using isn't supported by NI nor does VISA recognize it. I'm using a Win32 function to read the data from the card and now I want it to go directly to system memory.

Can I use LabVIEW to load data directly into system memory from a VI? The serial card I'm using isn't supported by NI nor does VISA recognize it. I'm using a Call Library function to read the data from the card and now I want it to go directly to system memory.
The data is being received at 1Mbps.
    Thanks

    Two questions:
One, if it's a serial card, then presumably it gives you more serial ports, like COM3, COM4, etc. If so, VISA would see the COM ports, and not the card directly. The drivers for the card should make it so that you see the extra serial ports from the OS. If you don't see the extra COM ports from VISA, then it sounds like the drivers for the card are not installed properly. Do the extra COM ports show up in Device Manager?
Two, you said that you're using a Call Library function to get the data and you want to put it into system memory. Errr.... you just read the data and you have it in memory by definition. Are you saying you need a way to parse the data so it shows up on a graph or something?

  • How to retrieve system Information on client machine Using Applets

How to retrieve video card information on client machine using applets and JNI, please suggest me on this
    Thanks
    GReddy

    1. Research platform specific OS API to do whatever you want with video cards
    2. Write C/C++ code to wrap the functionality in 1 into something looks closer to what you want to see in java
    3. Write a class that models the functionality of 2 with native methods.
    4. Write the native methods of 3 such that they call the methods of 2.
Note that steps 1 and 2 have NOTHING to do with jni nor java. So you start by looking somewhere else for the answers to that.

  • CR 2010 Report using "File System Data" as source fails in production

Hello, I've recently upgraded my website from VS 2008 with full CR 2008 to VS 2010 using CR 2010 SP1 runtime (x32).  Everything went fine except for one report that uses as a source the "file system data".  It points to a share on a samba drive and it worked great before the upgrade.  After upgrading my development box the report runs fine, but when I deployed it, it fails with the message:
Failed to load database information. Error in File {report name} {D5D84E7F-54DB-4BCA-B3C3-0A169CDC36D7}.rpt: Failed to load database information.
I made sure the websiteu2019s Application Pool identity was set to use credentials of a user who has access to the share.
The data source has the following properties:
    Database DLL:   crbd_filesystem.dll
    File Mask: .
    Include Empty Directories: False
Max Number of Subdirectory Levels: -1
    Starting Directory:
    {FreeBSD server name}\{share name}
This report uses a sub-report which has the same source.  This report works fine from (full) CR 2008 and from the designer inside of VS 2010 works too.  I can run it on my development box (in release and debug modes) which is Windows 7 (x64) using IIS 7.
In production, we donu2019t include the runtime in our application deployment, since we run multiple sites and do updates frequently, so we pre-install (one time) the runtime separately on the server.  We installed the CR 2010 SP1 x32 runtime on our test and development boxes which both are Windows 2003 with IIS6 and made sure they are setup to use .Net 4 and have the Application Pool identity setup to have access to the share.  All my other reports which use ODBC work fine.  Just this one report doesnu2019t and Iu2019m at a loss on how to even begin troubleshooting this.
Is CR 2010 still capable of using u201Cfile system datau201D as a source?  I couldnu2019t find anything on u201Cfile system datau201D with CR 2010.  Though I have seen under Other Sources, it still exist when I created a new report, just to try it out.

Looks like you've found a bug with the CRVS2010 runtime. I looked for the crbd_filesystem.dll in the CRVS2010 install directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86) and it is there. I then opened up the 32 bit MSI and MSM with the MS Orca utility to see if the file is included and it is not.
    Two things we can do:
    1) Add the crdb_filesystem.dll to your install and make sure it installs to the above directory on the runtime computer
    2) I will created a fix request for the issue, however next fix will be Service Pack 2 (ETA, sometime after October) and I doubt this will make it there. So we'd be looking at SP 3 - if there will be one (ETA would be in 2012).

  • Client copy using SAP_CUST profile

    Hi
I have a requirement to copy the Production client (customization only) to Dev-100 customization client (Already existing with customization). Since the production system is having the latest customization settings,my func team wants to copy the production system customization to Dev customization client.
My system config (SAP R/3 4.6C, Oracle 8i, HP UX 11i)
Requirement: PRD 500 --> DEV 100 (Client copy using SAP_CUST)
I have planned the activity as below,
    1. Create a backup client in Dev system ... Dev 110 as a copy of Dev100 (Perform a SCCL with SAP_ALL profile of DEV 100)
    2. Export SAP_CUST from PRD 500
    3. Del Dev100 and import 500 to Dev 100
    My doubt is,
    1. Whether it is mandatory to delete Dev client 100 before importing PRD client 500?
    2. If we import the PRD client in to Dev without deleting, will the data consistency be maintained? ( Profile is SAP_CUST)
    3. How long will be the export and import of SAP_CUST will run on an average(Any ways to find the number of tables that get exported when we use SAP_CUST profile?)
    4. Any post import activity to be performed after SAP_CUST import?
Please share your experience on this regard. Also, please clarify whether my approach to the requirement is correct or not.
    regards,
    Vinodh.

    Hi Vinod,
    1. No need to delete client 100 in Dev system. If you copy SAP_CUST profile from PRD system the Production Only customising data will be over written by existing data in DEV.
2.Data cpnsistency will  be maintained and you can monitor the entire process using SCC3. Here you can monitor how many table copied and how much % of data copied.
    3. As pawan said Please lock all users in DEV system except your user as apreinstallation activity and start client copy. Once you done with that Unlock all users and SGEN to generate nulily created object and to increase system performance.
    4. The time take for complition will be depend on you data you are coping.
Before start Client copy follow pre requisites and start.

  • Multiple R/3 clients to one BI System

    Hello,
1.We have two R/3 clients 010 and 020. Client 010 will be used for devotement and configuration, and client 020 will be used for unit testing. All the dataSources creation and enchantments will be done in 010 and then tested in client 020.
2.Client 010 will be the only client connected to the transport system.
My question: since the R/3 dataSources and extractors are client independent, when connecting the BI system to R/3, do we have to connect the BI system to both R/3 clients or it is enough to connect to client 020.
I would appreciate it if you share your experience or provide any SAP Notes related to this setup.
    Thank you…. ALI

Hi… thank you for your answers. That was my feeling; however, the thing that I am worried about and got me in doubts is the CO-PA extractor. When creating the CO-PA extractor, SAP asks for the client ID to be part of the extractor name (TC: KEB0).  Does this mean that this particular dataSource is client dependent? Is there any other dataSource that requires the client number to be part of it?
Also, if I create this extractor (CO-PA) in client 010, would it be available in client 020? If not, how do we go with such scenario?
If you have more than one R/3 client and using CO-PA dataSources, then please let me know how you are handling it.
    Thank you… Ali

  • System load application (stress measurement)

    Hi,
I am about to create a Benchmark application. The main purpose of the application is to compare performance between Linux and Windows NT. Two PCs equipped with Gigabit Ethernet cards are to be connected point-to-point.
    (*PC, Sender*)---->UDP/TCP channel---->(*PC, Receiver)
One PC will load the other PC by sending either TCP or UDP packets. I have already written both receiver and sender applications, but I need to monitor the system load at the receiving end. My question is whether it is possible to perform the following actions with Java code.
    * Measure the CPU usage on the receiving PC.
    * Monitor the level of PCI bus traffic.
    * I want to monitor the memory load. (more precise than freeMemory() and totalMemory() )
If any of these options are possible, where can I find more info/sample code ? I have heard something about JNI, but I don't really know what that is.

The comparison would be unfair (by your definition of unfair) in Java, too, since the JVMs for both platforms are different.
If you are dealing with time, though, 500 milliseconds is 500 milliseconds, no matter what language you write it on or what platform you run it on. If you use VC++ for the Windows stuff, make sure you disable Microsoft extensions so you have some ANSI standard code that will compile with gcc.
Since you are trying to compare operating systems, make sure both machines are using the same processors (and motherboards with the same PCI bus architecture), too. And have the same amount of memory, which is the same speed and architecture on both. Their hard drives should be roughly the same speed, too. The PCI bus usage could vary with network cards, so having the same network cards will be a plus. What it seems to come down to is that you are going to end up measuring the performance of the socket library implementations on both machines.
As far as JNI goes, all it is is a way to write native code and use it in your Java application. I don't know much about it, search around for some examples. There's a tutorial, somewhere, too. Some dude on here, tpritchet, seems to know a lot about it.
