Client Server question:Getting client responses in 2 locations, avoiding

I have a client that holds all the connections. Then a GUI running inside the same VM can do specific on demand actions on some selected clients.
I keep all the connections inside a Vector, then in the GUI when I want to send for example to a client a "ver" command the client should respond with his version.
I implemented the behavior but my question is as follows: when I click the ver button on the GUI form, I get the Vector connection from the server class, then I get the associated BufferedReader and PrintWriter from that Vector<Connections>, where Connections is the class that holds socket, bufferedreader and printwriter, I send to selected clients the "ver" string and when a client responds with his version the string is first caught in the ThreadedServer while loop
while ((temp = br.readLine()) != null)instead of the GUI form class or any other class that implements the behavior.
The client should send twice the response. Why is that? And why is firstly caught in the server then in the loop that sended the "ver" command.
Is there a way to avoid this? I mean can I get the response in the method that asked for that version first not in the threaded server that holds all the connections?

1) What will happen ?Depends on what your code does.
2) Will both clients get their own objects seperately ?Depends on what your code does. Remote objects can have an 'id'. If the ids are the same then the same object is produced If not then different objects.
It is likely that your code is using different objects, but that is only a guess.
3) How do they track the use of a method in the remote object ?How does "who" track it? And why would it matter?
A client doesn't 'track' code in a remote object. Basically a RMI proxy sends a message to the RMI server. The RMI server gets the message and processes it. The act of processing causes the object method on the server to be called. When that method exits a message is sent back to the client. At that time the client returns from the method that it called. Notice that the client doesn't do anything with the server code all it does is wait for the message to come back. Does that answer your question?

  • Adobe Creative Cloud connectivity issue on Websense run network; Failed to send the request to server to get the response - 12002

    Hi all,
I am able to install the Windows Adobe Creative Cloud application fine on Windows 7 box but the application fails to establish a connection with Adobe server/-s.
We use a proxy with Websense as our network security solution. Proxy configuration script is set in Internet Options. We have not tried to whitelist anything as per http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/proxy-authentication-support-creative-cloud.html as the errors suggest the application does not even connect to the proxy server/Websense at all.
Please see below snippet from that DLM.log file that contains the error messages - please have a look. Could anybody tell me what it means or advise how to resolve this please? I don't see the Adobe Creative Cloud tool to have any options where manual proxy settings can be setup to try that.

  • Windows 2003 server access getting slow from Windows7/8 client

We have Windows 2003 Enterprise Server. If I try to access through Windows 7 or Windows 8 client PC then I am getting very slow access. Slow access in terms of, if I am taking remote desktop of server [OR] if I directly browse server directory [OR] even
accessing any web application on server it is very slow.
But if I am accessing though any Windows-XP base client or even other servers having Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 then access in good.
But interesting thing is even we have other Windows 2003 server for which I am getting normal response.
Can someone guide me on the same? I am not able to understand the root cause of it.

                          killClient();
    public String getIP() {
            return ip;
        }please help.. thanks

    hi, thanks for reply.
yes, i am trying to connect from different macnine
    that have different IP address.
how to check if it asign same external IP toclient?
can it be configure to assign different IP?what he means is, if you run your server at location
A, and all your clients from location B, with the
internet in between, and a single router/switch
serving internet connections to the clients at the B
location, then the server at the A location will see
the external IP of the site B router, not the
individual IPs of the clients behind the router
(since those IPs are only for internal network usage
    behind the router)
in short, do you test with multiple clients from one
internet connection? then it would be logical that
they present the same IP to the server. The best (and
most realistic) way to test would be with multiple
clients from multiple locations / internet connectionsok.thanks.
so is it possible for me to get the client machine ip but not the IP for the router? because i will hav multiple user from same location access the server at the same time.

I have just a simple WCF service and which is protected by azure ACS .I am getting this error while trying to invoke the service from a client. The WCF is hosted as a simple azure website.
502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server
There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server.
This is my web.config for the service and I am guessing there is something wrong with it .It is working just fine on local IIS so I am not sure what exactly is causing the issue. Can someone please have a look and see if they can find something or point me to
    a direction.

    hi,
Firstly, I suggest you could see the same error threads (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsazure/en-US/5cf817b3-1295-41d7-b156-ce7aa5e4d11e/502-web-server-received-an-invalid-response-while-acting-as-a-gateway-or-proxy-server?forum=windowsazurewebsitespreview
). And then, I recommend you could refer to this basic code sample(
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/4027.wcf-soap-service-with-federated-authentication.aspx ). And I recommend you could download this code sample and try to use it(http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/Windows-Azure-AD-Access-0dcde385/sourcecode?fileId=71587&pathId=477793108
    Please try it.
    hope this helps.

  • Ping but no client response

I am using ARD 3.3 to manage the Macs in my building. I am having troubles with 11 out of 21 of the MacBook 4,1 model computers that are not showing up on the Scanner / All Computers list with ARD. Those not on the list show up as black icons with IP Addresses signifying that they can be pinged but have no client response from those computers. They are running Client Software v. 3.3.1 and access the network wirelessly, same as the Admin Comp.
I have opened the Sharing system pref and turned ARD on/off, modified the access privileges and restarted all machines to no avail. What else can I try to get these computers to be managed via ARD?

They are running Client Software v. 3.3.1 and access the network wirelessly
Are the appropriate ports open and forwarded in the wireless router to those workstations? You'll need to do some special setup to be able to manage multiple systems behind an NAT (see "Setting Up the Network" in the Remote Desktop Help).

Hi ya'll! I'm still learning how to navigate my way with Lightroom. (Last time I wrote, I did get some responses that work. Thanks so much!) Now, I have another question. When I try to copy pics from my external drive to a CD/DVD, no matter if do it from LR or my drive, I keep getting the message; "Disk burning is not supported by LR on this computer." I've tried everything I can think of, so, I thought I'd see if anyone may know if there's anything I can do. Or could it be that my computer just can't handle it? Help!!! So frustrating!!  I have a PC Lenovo computer, I don't know if this makes any difference. Any ideas? Thanks so much for your help!!!

Have you burned Discs with other programs using this computer? Are you certain that you have a drive that will burn discs?

Thanks for this Gary. Much appreciated. Will help with future ones.
Still a bit like using keynote in 'safe mode' and very limiting.
If anyone produces an 'auto convert' app that will save me the work of fixing existing presentations slide by slide, I'm buying it :-)
    Thanks again

  • Client response times

Is there any way that these can be obtained in the access.log?
The Oracle webserver extended log includes a useful parameter (called
time-taken) which gives an approximate client response time. Does
    WebLogic have a similar option?

    Hi Steve,
WebLogic 5.1 supports Extended Log File format for its access.log. The
format includes the field you are asking about (time-taken) and much
more. Check out the docs for WLS 5.1 and the spec for ELF format at W3C
    web site.
    Thanks,

  • How can my client program call program located at server?

    Hi All,
I have a client-server application. How can my client program call program located at server?
At the beginning my program works as long as RSA Agentinstalled at client. So my program only call rsa library and communicate with RSA Agentby passing userid and passcode. Once RSA Agent receive it will send to RSA Managers to validate.
But now my user want the RSA Agent installed in my Server. I wondering how to do that as the library given will only detect local RSA Agent. So I'm thinking to separte the library and create new project. Then in this project as a medium to pass userid and passcode. This project I will compile and allocate to server. Then my programs will call the new program i created by passing userid and passcode. I wondering can I do that?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Java server question for sockets

    Hello,
I have a C/C++ server which works fine to communicate to Flash, but I want to use Java + Eclipse over text file editing and makefile headaches of C/C++. This will be a big project that requires organization of code, garbage collection, and nice arrays so Java is a smart choice over C/C++. I'm just hung up trying to get an echo server...
I found this echo server code: http://pastebin.com/thiQtEz5
It will receive data coming in, but when it sends echo data out, I don't read it in AS3(Flash). If I use a C/C++ echo server, I get data in and echo data out so I can read it in AS3(Flash).
It seems like most Java examples use similar code, and I find them reading in, but not communicating from echo out to AS3(Flash) read in.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'm interested. I'm new to Java, but I bet I can do cool things with it if I could get sockets working.
    ,James
PS if it helps, I also cannot use my C/C++ echo client to send data to the Java echo server... It simply doesn't read data if there is any content. If I send a null string, it understands a null string came in though.
PSS: Is this the right forum for AS3 questions, I couldn't find an AS3 forum

    Hi,
It seems that you are trying to display JSP pages. All Application servers that I am aware of convert JSP pages to a servlet and use that servlet to generate a Html page. Therefore it seems that the answer to your question is Yes!
