Client Web Review Videos (Flash CS4)

As part of our video production process, we used to encode client review AVI videos in Flash and publish them from Flash. Once published, I would open the published HTML file with notepad and copy and paste the appropriate Flash related code into a template on our web server. The Flash code would be pasted in an html table cell in the template html file.
This method consistently produced Web review videos that worked fine and played immediately.
The process has changed with CS4. Now Flash doesn't accept and transcode an AVI file. You have to transcode the AVI in Media Encoder and then import the *.flv or *.f4v file into a Flash Project via the Import video function.
Here is the problem I have... The finished product that used to work on our server will now play fine locally, but refuses to play on the server. The server is based on "Free BSD".
I had the server administrator check the MIME types and he entered them last night for flv and f4v files. I haven't had time to try again, but what makes me skeptical regarding the MIME type issue is that Flash, flv or f4v based video exported from Encore play fine on our server.
My thoughts are, it is either an issue related to a Microsoft fault, like the fact that PhotoShop files no longer display preview thumbnails in Windows Explorer, or the problem is related to an extra "hidden" step I am not taking with CS4 in order to make Flash CS4 videos play on a web server.
I have addressed this in the Flash forum. I got one response from another guy having the same problem, but he said has not received any feedback whatsoever that has been helpful in resolving this problem.
My final thoughts are this:
Flash video created in Flash CS4 won't play on our server but the same f4v and flv files created and exported from Encore CS4 will. My suspicion is that In Flash CS4, I have to create an accompanying Java Script file or something, that is published to the server as well... Or possibly I need to install a Flash Extension that enables Flash exported video to play on a server.
You might ask, why use Flash when Encore works. The reason is, Encore isn't flexible with the video controllers. Our clients want to be able to easily scrub to certain points in the review video. Also, I want our review videos to be enclosed within our Website template with our company's navigation buttons.
Any thoughts?

I've always enjoyed working in Flash. To be really good at it, you need a strong creative right brain as well as a good handle on programming, particularly Java Script and Flash's Action Script. I would need to learn programming to expand my creativity with Flash. Web design can be a frustrating profession. Back in 97' a guy who referred to himself as a scientist, taught me the basics of Web design. He claimed to have developed the technique of "slicing" images and optimizing the pieces individually and placing the image pieces in HTML table cells. He meticulously hand coded all of his clien'ts websites. I remember checking in on one of his masterpiece websites a few years later, only to see things all messed up. The thing basically fell apart. I don't know if it was because the browser I was using didn't read the HTML in a standard way or what. But the site looked terrible. You think we have problems in the video production business... try building websites for a living.
The Flash video my original post is about was created for a producer friend, who's trying to get some people interested in a reality TV series. I tried to make the Web page where the Flash is embedded more interesting by using a jpg background referenced in the HTML using a java script that "stretched" the image to fit any browser window size. I thought the finished page looked great. We tested it on several computers, and everything looked and worked fine. The first important guy to look at the page couldn't see the video, just the background. I took the background out. I got another phone call from someone who said they couldn't see the video and their computer was asking if they started a process and for permission to continue installing a Flash Player update. I said, yes, this is a Flash based video you are about to look at, so go ahead and install the Flash Player update. Then there are people who work in a corporate setting where system administrators restrict certain Windows updates related to media. Other people never install any Windows updates and are running with expired anti-virus software.
I enjoy working with Flash and even occassionally doing some Web design, I'm just glad I don't have to deal with Web compatibility problems day in and day out.

  • Upgrade from CS3.3 to CS4 Web Premium but Flash CS4 doesn't install

    I just installed my new version of CS4, and almost all the applications installed properly. All but Flash, that was greyed when I tried to make a "personal installation" and did not install at all when I used the "automatic" installation.
    And there is something else : I had a beta version of Soundbooth, and Soundbooth neither was not installed. So, I presume I should uninstall it before trying again.
    But what is it with Flash ?
    Thanks for any help,
    Gilles

    Please could you be more specific ?
    How do I find this script ? On the installation disk, I suppose ?
    Or is it a way to launch the installation package ?
    Thanks for your reply, Buko
    Gilles
    P.S. I checked on the disk 1 and there is 4 scripts into the resources/common/scripts/ directory :
    ContainerProxy.js
    localization.js
    silentWorkflow.js
    utils.js
    P.P.S OK I found it : on the Lisez-moi file, there is a link to the CS4 support page (http://www.adobe.com/support/creativesuite/) and there is a link to the clean script. So I'll have to uninstall all of it...

  • How do I get stuff off the stage to show in a web browser on Flash CS4?

    Okay, so I have a picture that I want to be my background.  So I put it around the stage, but when I test my movie in a web browser, only my stage shows.  Is there a way I can get it to all show?  I don't really care if my background is cut off, as long as you can see it, because it's a tile sort of picture.
    Thanks!

    Create a rectangle that is the size you want this background to be.  When you create it, select the colors so that it has no line border.  Once it is created on the layer you have for the background, select the rectangle, open the Color panel, and choose Bitmap from the Type drop down menu in that panel, then select the image from the selections that appear.  The rectangle should fill with your tiling background image.

  • Video Formats in Flash CS4

    I recently upgraded to CS4.
    Previously in CS3 I was Importing Quicktime .mov files using the Import Video command. In the dialog that would appear, I would choose progressive download and ON2 VP6 and Flash CS3 would then initiate a progress bar with the ultimate result being the creation of a new FLV file made from the .mov. This always worked fine in the past.
    Now with CS4, it was my understanding that I could import Quicktime movies that use the H.264 standard without having to create an FLV... is that true? The reason I ask is because I just created (3) 2 minute videos in Final Cut Pro Studio and exported them to Apple Compressor 3 which further saved them as .mov H.264 files for web downloading. These files play perfect from the hard drive using Quicktime Player. So, I opened Flash CS4, used the Import Video menu item as before, progressive download, etc. and now instead of creating a new FLV file I just saw a progress bar saying something about reading Metadata and then the video icon appeared on stage in Flash. After publishing the SWF, the movie played fine from the hard drive. Since I did not see a new movie file created by Flash after importing or publishing, I was assuming that it was just pulling the video data from the original .mov file I imported? The problem I ran into was when I uploaded all the files (including the original .mov file) I only got a video control bar showing with a progress bar running, but the video never appeared. Did I do something wrong?
    As a workaround, I tried dragging the .mov into the new Adobe Media Encoder CS4 and created am F4V (a new file on my desktop). The filesize was smaller than the original .mov, but when I imported the F4V into Flash and published that to the web it played fine (a bit lower quality though).
    Also, when I dragged the .mov file to the Media Encoder it stated that it was an FLV file not a .mov H.264 file.
    What am I missing or doing wrong? How is the best way to get a Quicktime H.264 file imported into and published from Flash CS4 for the highest quality?
    Thanks for any help!

    Yes you can do that.Theres a couple ways.
    1.
    You will want to load the flv - in whatever fashion - into a movie clip, then blur the movie clip with filters. But this can have serious damaging effects on runtime performance.
    2.
    If you have the source files, and the video will never need to be sharp. You can go into your video editing software (After Effects, for instance), extend width and height of the composition, blur your video there, and render out with alpha channel.

  • Flash CS4 Video Poorer Quality Than Flash 8

    I've upgraded to Flash CS4 from Flash 8 Pro and find the quality of the FLV video is noticeably poorer now for the same Adobe Media Encoder settings. In addition, the video encoded using CS4 won't play on my web server. If I export from Premier Pro to AVI and then convert to Flash using my older Flash 8 the quality is good and it plays fine on my website.
    There is something strange about the FLV and SWF files created by CS4. The system that is running Flash 8 (WinXP 32bit) cannot play the CS4 created FLV files from the desktop even though they are supposed to be Flash 8 or later compatible. The system that has CS4 installed (Vista 64bit) can play both version of FLV.
    It appears that the FLV created by AME is not really Flash 8 compatible. Perhaps this is connected in some way to the poorer quality I'm getting
    Any help appreciated. I do need to solve this before my XP/Flash 8 system goes away.
    Peter Cassidy

    It has always been this way, even in the Macromedia days. Older versions of Flash cannot open (or play, as you like it) content made in the newer versions. The .fla files are totally different. I suppose this goes too for the video encoded by different versions of Flash.
    I wouldn't advise you to get rid of your old system. You may need it ....

  • Flash CS4 only web colors?

    Rookie question... If I'm creating a Flash file (ActionScript 3.0) based off of a Photoshop file, do I need to use web only colors in Photoshop?  I creating a pop-up page for a site.

    No. While Flash has only one palette, the web safe colors palette, you can use any color that you like in artwork that you import. You can add colors to Flash's palette for any individual movie file. If you are using Flash CS4, you can import colors directly through Kuler.

  • In Flash CS4 a generated html with swf file won't play swf

    Using Flash CS4 and having the Flash plug-in ver 10 on my PC, the generated html file will not play the swf in the browser.
    I noticed that the active-x javascript is now included in the header as well as the javascript portion in the body tag.
    But it won't play.  I get the typical blank window in IE with the "X" in the upper left corner.
    I don't have this problem with Flash CS3.
    Any ideas what may be going on?
    Thank you.

    I am having similar difficulty; mostly I am confused.
    I want to open a flash video file in a frame within a webpage.
    I have generated a Flash CS4 html and swf file. When loaded they play, but they play on a separate, full size web page, not in the frame where I want it.
    I then generated FLV and F4V files but that doesn't work.
    It appears that I need to insert the object and embed tags "for Flash Movies" in the html file.
    Once I do that, do I go back to only putting in the html and swf files and create a link to the html file to bring up the video in the target frame?
    What are the FLV files for?

  • Flash CS4 Help File Offline What Happened to Tag Defintions Showing UP?????

    Ok I know I can set the help system to browse offline however
    this doesn't work correctly for any less then ActionScript 3. When
    you highlighted a word in the past such as "null" it use to pull up
    the word and the info in all the books. Now all I see is a web
    browser that doesn't do this for me. I mean who sits there at
    adobe's end and thinks up of ways to slow someone down like this??
    How can you remove the core help quick linking from the program.
    Number 1 not everyone is on AS3 and some of us still have to update
    AS2 code.
    Bigspace ships has an air application that installed AS3 flex
    reference but again useless unless you are on AS3. Has anyone found
    another way to get this old school functionality to work on
    CS4???

    Jay Armstrong here. I’m one of the writers who works on
    the Flash docs.
    Regarding this comment and the many others in other threads
    that have added important details about the issues with the help
    workflow, and in particular the ActionScript help workflow: We hear
    your pain and we are working to implement solutions to these
    issues.
    I understand that this new help workflow is more painful than
    in CS3 when you had the Help right in its own panel in the product.
    Here’s some background:
    The implementation of Help within the Flash Help panel prior
    to CS4 required that *all* the Help files be installed on the local
    drive with the product, resulting in some issues that we tried to
    address in CS4. Including Help on the installation disc caused
    issues including:
    - Required that Help be completed much earlier for
    localization and end-game testing.
    - Resulted in static Help files that had been completed early
    in the development cycle, sometimes not accounting for last minute
    UI or other changes.
    - A long install process.
    - Crowded the installation disc.
    These aren't meant to be full explanations of why we made the
    changes, but just some background as to some of the things we were
    thinking about. Clearly the decisions we came to weren't the right
    ones for many users. We are intent on making things better.
    Moving Help online makes it possible to update Help on an
    ongoing basis, allows users to comment on and embellish the Help,
    and allows us to add links from the help out to new articles,
    tutorials, videos, and code samples on adobe.com and throughout the
    Flash web community. One of you rightly pointed out that the Adobe
    Updater could have been used for some of this, but I believe that
    the updater would have required much more rigorous certification by
    us of any update packages and the update/install process for each.
    We actually are updating the online help files very frequently, so
    this process would have been a major barrier to these updates.
    We’ve had a struggle about how to deliver the Flash
    Help for a long time, as we have a lot of users who have been quite
    vocal about not liking the Help panel consuming space within the
    Flash window as well as users who really want it there so they
    don’t have to leave the IDE.
    Having said all that, I still totally understand what
    you’re saying about losing your code, glance, code, glance,
    code workflow. As you probably know, we’ve been getting a lot
    of feedback about this, along with other issues that online Help
    has caused. We are actively looking at ways of solving these, but
    the Help-in-a-browser issue a difficult problem, as this aspect of
    the Help implementation is baked fairly deep into the CS4 product.
    Since CS4 shipped, we have implemented solutions to some of the
    issues with Help raised by users, such as allowing you to select
    the default destination of F1 (though Flash CS4 always went to the
    actual Help system rather than the Flash Help and Support page,
    which is what these users wanted in other products). I just
    don’t know if there will be a solution in the CS4 time frame
    for viewing Help within Flash itself. As noted in this thread,
    there are a few independent developers working on non-browser help
    viewers, such as Jamie Kosoy, Technical Director at Big Spaceship,
    whose AIR application for the CS4 Language Reference docs is
    available at
    http://labs.bigspaceship.com/2008/12/09/air-app-as3-language-reference/.
    We knew that people use the AS3 Language Reference a lot, so
    we did install a local, abridged version of that with the product.
    You only see it when not connected to the internet or if you
    disable online connections as described earlier in this thread, and
    it still opens in a web browser and still has the same navigation
    interface as the online version. You can also download a local copy
    of the AS Reference, which does get updated periodically and can be
    viewed locally regardless of the state of your internet connection,
    but it also is all html and opens in a web browser. As previously
    noted, the download is available here:
    http://help.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flash/10/ActionScript3LangRef.zip.
    I know this thread started off with AS2 concerns, and we hear
    those too.
    In some of the other threads out there about the Help, people
    have raised issues about the contents navigation in the CS4 version
    of the ASLR as well. We are listening to all these issues and
    actively working on solutions that will address these questions.
    We’d really like to give you better control over whether you
    see online or local content, whether you see it inside the IDE or
    in a separate application, etc.
    I know that you are all really frustrated at some of these
    help changes, and so I want to say how much we appreciate your
    feedback. I’m sorry that my reply doesn’t give you the
    magic bullet that you are understandably hoping for.

  • Problems exporting a movie in Flash CS4

    I'm trying to export a fla file to a mov file in Flash CS4.
    My fla file is 152 mb. It is a 5 minute presentation I created with a 39 second f4v file (video clip) in the file.
    I go to Export / Export Movie. I select Quicktime (mov). I keep the default settings and it starts to cycle through. It gets about half way and I get a message "The export operation failed because it ran out of memory"
    I'm running this on a Mac Pro, System 10.5.8. I have 4 GB of memory. My HD is 232 GB with 155 GB available.
    What is the problem and how can I get this to work?

    Well, for some reason, I've managed to be okay with the idea that all software relying on links is prone to crushing at any given moment during execution of a project, Yes this includes After effects, Illustrator, Indesign_name it. However, one thing I cannot understand or even come to terms with the idea that Flash CS4 cannot export a project of 162mb. My library is organised, My scenes are in perfect order,  I do not even use 3rd party componets in my projects..... but for some reason, I cannot export let alone publish an application file from FLASH CS4.
    My first thought was maybe some thing was wrong with the "flash.ocx" extension, so I took a walk and visited the Adobe site to get an update, but still after re-installing it nothing seems to put a smile on my face_( I've spent sleepless nights on this animation and all I need is to just export/ publish it, however flash exports it halfway and out of a blue the export dialog and the incomplete file vanish) Some times I  even wonder wether there is a vortex on my desktop.
    Another problem in this category am finding is with flash player in my browsers, if it runs in exlporer, then it won't run in firefox, and when I check in the control panel after installing on both browsers, I am so suprised to find 4plugins of flash player, which is not the case with my friends laptops which use 1plugin and an activeX control for the web browsers.
    Any help is very welcome, Am using Dell studio-xps Laptop running a 64bit  Windows Vista OS, 4bg Ram, 1 Terabyte HDD and yes Intel Graphics media card with dedicated memory of 1gb. (Of what use are they if I cannot export a small file of 162mb, am even ashamed to mention it, heeeeeelp  )

  • Web based videos (youtube etc) have no sound and then stops after 4 seconds

    When i try to play a video clip from any web site, the video plays with no sound for exactly 4 seconds, then it stops.
    I can 'scroll' the time line anywhere, and the video plays from that point for another 4 seconds -still without sound.
    Ive tried to upgrade to the lates version of flash player, and no difference.
    This aplies to all web based videos that uses a flash based video player.
    I'm using the Linux version of flash player on a Acer laptop with intel CPU and graphics, the computer runs Kubuntu Linux V11.10 Oneiric Ocelot kernel version 3.0.0-12
    Any ideas?

    Hi sorry for the delay in responding.
    I'm not using any client side code as far as I am aware.
    I think I should have said: Flash CS3 video Encoder, as I am
    running both Production Premium Creative Suite 3, and also CS3 Web
    Premium.
    All I did was convert some AVI files that went through
    Premiere Pro CS3 and After Affects etc, in Flash Video Encoder. I'm
    not doing any live streaming.
    THe FLVplackcomponent is the one generated in Dreamweaver
    CS3, I choose Insert / Flash Video and choose the Streaming
    options, I fill out the rtmp details ( I have another thread on an
    issue there as a firewall blocks some of the files and I cannot use
    rtmpt) and it works!!
    If you have a suggestion for a better workflow or precedure I
    would appreciate it.
    It is just this one FLV file that seems to do this. I have
    since chnaged this one file to Progressive and it plays fine.
    I hope this helps.
    These files are then placed in the applications folder in
    Flash Media Server 2.0 directory.
    This works fine

  • Newbie in hell...flash cs4 image

    Hello everyone,
    I must warn you I am an absolute beginner with flash, however am proficient in Illustrator / ps cs4 and now have flash cs4. I have a mountain of graphic work for a client and as part of this welcome work I've inherited a flash header that I need to finish for a website. The only problem is, I usually work in print and know nothing about flash, but would like to tackle this if I can. The inherited header is 980 x 230 with 8 images that fade in/out as they change over each other (morph). It was originally done in flash 10 using tweens but I gather flash has changed a bit with regards to this sort of thing.
    I like to learn new things but I have spent HOURS online and just can't find out how to do this. I've had a good look around flash but unfortunately I just can't dedicate days or weeks to learning the entire program.
    From what I can gather so far:
    The images go into flash library (is jpeg ok or do they have to be BMP) then I need to convert them to symbols then they go into the timeline as layers ...OMG I guess my first question is..is this a fairly simple thing to accomplish or should I look at outsourcing it? I'm pretty good with the teaching myself stuff, but my biggest enemy is time. I've looked at the adobe tv tuts but didn't see anything like what I'm after (the image doesn't need to slide, it just needs to fade into another one).
    I'm so buggered, hoping if I get some sleep some kind soul will either be willing to help, or tell me to forget it, either way helping to end my frustration!
    Thanks in advance,
    A bona fide Flash Dummie...
    Lauren

    I
    don't have CS4 so I am not familiar with the new way of tweening, only
    with what CS4 calls classic tweens, which is what I grew up with in
    Flash.  What I described for you is based on classic tweens.
    While those in in the know
    (a few) praise the wonders of the new tweens, general concensus in these
    forums for those that question them is that trying/learning to work
    with the new tweens is not straightforward.
    As far as movieclip versus
    graphic goes, neither is preferable over the other.  Both will perform
    in a tween.  Movieclips are useful when you have more to do with the
    object than just display it.
    The difference with the motion tweens is that the motion tweens are built to be easily scalable and to provide a graphical interface for easily updating/editing the tweens visually (including path, timing etc). Classic tween is what you want for your project so you're on the right track. As far as the difference between a movieclip and a bitmap not mattering, well it depends really on the scale of the project but best practice is to go with the smaller class. The movieclip class is massive, one of the largest because it is a dynamic type and is near the bottom of the chain of inheritance on the flash displayobject list. So, the bitmap class would be probably like 1/10th the file size of the movieclip class, so go with bitmap. Since flash is primarily a web technology and I'm sure you're doing this project for a website, every byte matters.  Imagine the difference in filesize is 5 kb just because of what classes you decide to use but you decide to deploy the project on a website with 5 million users. Thats 25 gigabytes of wasted bandwidth. Anyway that doesn't really apply to you because you're doing timeline tweens and the flash IDE will automatically import all of those bulky classes anyway, but it's good to keep in mind if you decide to pursue getting deeper into flash and working with actionscript.
    Anyway it looks like you've almost got your project all sorted out but there is the problem with doing everything inside flash using timeline tweens. As you're aware, it's a pain if you need to update. Below is some basic actionscript you can paste inside of a new fla file. It's not the best example but I just kind of wipped it up and should be more than enough for you to pick apart and learn how actionscript 3 works in flash. So.. create a new fla set the stage to the size of your project (980 X 230) pixels. Create a new blank movieclip (might as well, read up) and give it an instance name of "imageContainer". That's it for setup in the FLA. In the same folder as the FLA create a folder beside the fla called images. Create a new text document inside that folder and name it "filelist.xml". In that list, paste this:
    <files>
        <file filename="171_2784_2.jpg" />

    </files>
    Copy all of your images for this project into the images folder. Now modify that XML to include the name of each file in the folder.
    Now back in your FLA, click the first frame of the main timeline. Open the actions panel (view -> actions in the menu)
    Now paste this into that frame:
    import fl.transitions.Tween;
    import fl.transitions.easing.Strong;
    import fl.transitions.TweenEvent;
    var listIndex:int = 0;
    var nextImage:Bitmap = new Bitmap();
    var listOfImages:Array = new Array();
    var listLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    listLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, parseFileList);
    listLoader.load(new URLRequest("images/filelist.xml"));
    var imageLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    var cycleTimer:Timer = new Timer(5000, 0);
    cycleTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, beginImageCycling);
    function parseFileList(e:Event):void
        //trace(e.currentTarget.data); //Uncomment this to debug and see what data is coming in
        var fileListXML:XML;
        try{
            fileListXML= new XML(e.currentTarget.data);
        }catch(e:Error){
            trace("The file list is either not well formed XML or not XML at all");
        var a:Number;
        //Get an XMLList object which will contain all of the children of the fileListXML
        var fileList:XMLList = fileListXML.children();
        for(a = 0; a < fileList.length(); ++a){
            trace(fileList[a].attribute("filename"));
            listOfImages.push(fileList[a].attribute("filename"));
        trace("Done parsing file list XML");
        beginImageCycling();
    function beginImageCycling(e:TimerEvent = null):void
        imageLoader = new Loader();
        imageLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, showNextImage);
        imageLoader.load(new URLRequest("images/" + listOfImages[listIndex]));
        listIndex++;
        if(listIndex >= listOfImages.length){
            //This will reset the index and begin looping from the images from the start
            listIndex = 0;
    function showNextImage(e:Event):void
        trace("Image loaded, get ready to show it");
        nextImage = e.currentTarget.content as Bitmap;
        var tw:Tween = new Tween(nextImage, "alpha", Strong.easeOut, nextImage.alpha, 0, 1, true);
        tw.addEventListener(TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH, changeOutImage);
        tw.start();
    function changeOutImage(e:Event):void
        while(imageContainer.numChildren > 2){
            trace("removing old images");
            imageContainer.removeChildAt(0);
        //Add the new image to the container, in this case the stage
        imageContainer.addChild(nextImage);
        var tw:Tween = new Tween(nextImage, "alpha", Strong.easeOut, nextImage.alpha, 1, 1, true);
        //Restart the timer to cycle images
        cycleTimer.reset();
        cycleTimer.start();
    In the menu go to Control--->Play. That should do it, it should cycle through those images over and over. I'm at work doing this on my lunch I'll post a completed project/demo of this later when I get home and give you an intro to actionscript by covering the code I've put here. Anyway so now the benefit of doing things this way is that if you want to adjust the transition time, you simply go to the :Tween = new Tween lines and change this:
    Strong.easeOut, nextImage.alpha, 1, 1, true);
    to:
    Strong.easeOut, nextImage.alpha, 2, 1, true);
    Which will change the transition time from 1 second to 2 seconds. Or, say if you want to add new pictures, all you have to do is change that XML and copy in new pictures, something even your client could do (which is sure to make them happy).
    Anyway I'll post later even if you don't need this anymore it may be useful to somoene else who finds this topic one day. .:)

  • Flash CS4 crash when scrolling

    Hi,
    Today one of our artists started experiencing a crash in Flash CS4 Professional when scrolling the workspace around in one of his .fla files.  All he has to do is hold down the spacebar and scroll around with the mouse; or use the scrollbars to scroll around.  It has crashed about 10 times in the last hour, and we copied the file over to another machine and saw the crash there as well.  We've only seen it occur with one particular file.
    The machines are both Intel Core i7 machines with 8GB of RAM and two different video cards, one running Windows 7 and the other running Vista; and the crashes cause the Adobe "let me report this crash to the mothership" dialog box, so I don't think it's video card driver related; I think it's just a bug in Flash Professional.  We're running version 10.0.2 with no updates available to Flash Professional when choosing "Updates..." from the Help menu.
    Anybody else seen this?  Any workarounds?  Any way to get Adobe to fix it?
    Thanks - BD

    Hi Jen,
    I'm putting the file up on our website for you to grab.
