CLM and services master

Hi experts
As I could see in configuration guide master data as materias and vendors are replicated from MM to e-sourcing CLM, I would like to knoe is service master are possible too?
Thanks
Nilson

HI Nilson,
Service Master isnt supported as of SAP Sourcing 5.1 on-premise.
However, if you want to still use it, you can use it as a material and need to re-create the OA or the PO on the ECC side with a type D.
But to answer your question, its not supported currently

  • Manual for service entry sheet and service master

    hello all,
if someone is having manual available for service entry sheet and service master....
    regards,
    Rahul Bhardwaj.

You have to configure service category in SPRO for service master and you can assign the number range in SPRO
    The path is SPRO is:
Materials Management-External Services ManagementService Master---Define Service Category
Service Master is created using AC03
The service master record counts as part of the master data within External Services Management and serves as a source of data for you to draw upon when creating service specifications. This enables you to save time and reduces the frequency of errors, since you need only enter the complete service descriptions in the service master record once.
A service master record contains the following principal information for the unique description of a service:
    Service number
    Service category
Descriptive texts (short and long text)
    Base unit of measure
    Material group
Valuation class by which G/l account is determined
when you reference it in the PO, all the data gets transfered and you avoids the mistakes

  • MM SRV - Service Master - AC01 and MM01

    Hi All,
Please help in these questions regarding  External Service Master management we create in AC01.
    1.   Is this Service Material is anyway related to MM01 material or they are two completely different materials?
    2.   What is common between MM01 Material and AC01 Service Material ?
    3.   Is Service Material is used in SRM ? If yes, all of them or only some of them ?

    Hi,
    1. Material(used for material being procured) master and service master(used for services being procured) are two different master details in SAP.
    2. service master records to be used while procuring services with item category D, and service master numbers to be entered at service line item level. Same like materials, details like unit, description, service groups, valuation claas needs to be maintained while creation of service master.
    4. standard reports are available in SAP to track the services procured based on the service master number.
3 yes. service master data can be used in SRm, all of them can be used.

  • Material/service master catalog upload (ECC-CCM)

SRM have 2 possible scenarios to upload the material master data to CCM:
1- Upload material master data from ECC to SRM and, after, from SRM to CCM.

    Hi All-
I have about 3 tricky questions concerning CCM-ECC Integration
1.) Does anybody have any idea on how to upload Material and Service master from ECC 6.0 directly into the CCM 2.0 system. Is there any standard program like we have in SRM called as BBP_CCM_TRANSFER_CATALOG. I
2.) Also are there any complications or is it possble to integrate CCM 2.0 directly from ME51n? I am aware that PM and PS out-of-the-box can be directly integrated to CCM. Is there a similar way to achieve this functionality. If yes can anybody give me some pointers on this.
3.) Are there any complications involved with uploading service masters and interfacing CCM to EBP or ECC and directly using the service master from CCM to create a Shopping cart (CCM-EBP) or  a purchase requisition (CCM-ECC).
I hope some one can throw some light on these questions.
Suitable points will be rewarded for helpfull answers !!

What should I keep in mind while creating a Service Master Record.

    Base Unit of Measure:
    Material Service Group:

    Service Type
Is there any other fields which I should keep in mind.

    1. What is use of Service Category. Do we need to use the default or we need to configure as per our requirement.
    2. while creating Service Order, we need to enter Single Short Text in Item & Multiple Short Texts in Item Details. What is the actual use of providing  Multiple Short Texts in Item Details.

  • Service Master and Material Master relation

    Hi Friends,
Our client requirement is to procure and sale same services.
and client wants to post the services to different G/L accounts for ex: if I am raising a sale order or Purchase order,
then for each different service line item to be posted to different G/L accounts.
Initially I thought of creating the service master with different valuation classes but when the same thing comes to sales then with service master they cannot create the sale order.
Hence kindly advice in this case whether to go with the service master creation and create the PO's with the service masters
or   go with the creation of material master with the services material type with different valuation classes?
    Thanks in Advance.
    regards,
    Sasi Kanth J

    Hi,
For services the concerned entries have to be maintained in table T030.
The system will then suggest the G/L accounts as per the valuation class
maintained in table T030 (Standard Accounts Table, transaction OBYC).
    The system will determine the
G/L account depending on the following criteria:
    T001K-BWMOD
    BKLAS
    T001-KTOPL
    T163K-KOMOK
Services level is one level below materials, which results in
some inherent restrictions compared to materials. In case of
services the values have to be maintained in the table T030.

  • Service Master Prices and Vendors not replicated

    Hi All,
We have SRM4.0 and a strange problem wherein we are not able to get  the prices per vendor maintained in the Service Master in R/3 replicated in SRM although the Service No, Description,Long Text,UOM,Product category details are getting replicated properly.
Service Masters in R/3 are maintained in AC02,AC03 transactions and the prices and vendors for service masters in ML35,ML39 etc. After replicating the service master initial load object SERVICE_MASTER in R3AS transaction in SRM only the basic details gets replicated and the info records like the vendor and prices for the services. Is there any specific setting needs to be done for maintaining the same as we have the condition types aligned with R/3 and IPC is up and running as well.
Do let me know incase someone can shed some light on the same.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards
    Anirban

    Hi  Harshal,
we had similar issue  in past. The problem for us was Creation date .We were trying to create a contract with past date. For this there is a setting in ECC which Depending upon the date.(You  might have referred already,Any way bringing here to notice ).
As the customizing has been set with a valid from date.Everything before that will be created with a PA segment assignment (first line). So if possible, put the date in present.

  • SERVICE  PO using service master and service PO using Material Type DIEN

Dear Gurus can you differenciate between SERVICE  PO using service master and service PO using Material Type DIEN ?
    Regards
    Vinod Suresh Kakade

    Hi,
Material type DIEN is used for when you offer "SERVICE" to your customer.
When you are procuring "SERVICE" from your vendor, you can use external service management where service master is used (Steps are PO created in ME21N with Item Cat. "D" with Acc. ***. Cat. "K" or "C", ML81N, MIRO & F-53).
In Standard DIEN material type designed for Sales usage only, but you can use DIEN for Purchase also to avoid External Services Management.

    Hi
Using Service masters is mainly for reporting and good use of Service Masters.
You can later run reports to show you how much you spend on a certain service.

  • Field 'material' in service master data and material requisition

    Hello, all!
Could anybody say, what is the purpose of field 'material' in service master data ('other' tab) and why system after setting the object type in that tab to 1 'material' will never show service in search help?
This first question comes from the second problem: I thought that I can make a service group, containing materials and services (like routings in PP), so system will be able to make material requisition for a case in automatical manner.
But now I'm confused. It looks like material requisition can only be made manually throught NMM7.
Is there any abilities to make requisition in automatical manner?
    Thanks a lot!
Edited by: Pavel Sidorov on Feb 15, 2008 4:30 PM

    Hi Pavel,
ad1) we support the creating of services based on material consumptions via service rules. Users are able to activate services rules which generate services based on the material consumption per case. But we need two entities material and services. Service rules are running automatically and no further manual work is necessary.
You will find the Service rules via IMG -> Patient Billing -> Service Rules. Service Rule R24 is the relevant service rule to generate services based on matierial consumption.
ad2) The field object type is not been used in Patient Management. It is only used by our clinical partner solution i.s.h.med. I understand that this field is confusing and not very well documented. In Patient Management we use the service master only for "services". i.s.h.med uses the field "material" and "personel" (e.g. physicians time). But it has no relevance for Patient Management.

  • Locking and Commiting - Service Master

Hello - I am developing a custom transaction that acts as a sort of control panel for Service Masters.  It allows the user to create, change, copy, and display Service Masters as well as their Classifications.
The transaction uses a BDC to perform the basic Service Master updates and a BAPI to perform the Classification updates.
Unfortunately, I am finding that in one environment I am able to create new Service Masters (SMs) and their classifications and then display the new SM to the user in Change mode; however in another environment I am able to create the Service Master, but when I try to create the Classifications or display the new Service Master in Change mode - it is not showing the new SM, but one that was created previously.
To retrieve the new SM I am using a Select MAX b/c the Parameter ID always contains %_1 rather than the newly created SM #.
I am thinking there is a locking or commit issue in the second environment but am not sure.  Any thoughts on how to resolve the issue would be greatly appreciated!
    David Mullen

Rob - thanks for the information.
I failed to include my update mode of 'S' in the CTU_PARAMS call of the transaction.  Now that I have incorporated this - it appears to have solved the issue, but I have only just tested the Create - I still need to check on Copy, Change, and Delete.
If the CTU_PARAMS addition doesn't solve it - I will try a commit work and wait 1 seconds.
I'm not sure of the DB - but if I hit a snag I'd appreciate being able to re-query you all and include that information - ?

  • Advantages of Service Master and service acceptance sheet

    Hi,
I want to know the Pros and cons of Service master and service acceptance sheet for preparing a document.
Pl give me your views on this.
    Regards,
    R. Dillibabu.

    Dear Dillibabu,
When you create a service master you avoid repetetive data entry efforts as again and again you do not require keying in the same text for services which can be volumunous. Also you have the option to group the services using the service/material group which can be done in service master. Also you have the option to assign valuation class in the service master for account determination purpose.
When you do the service entry it is just like the Goods receipt even in the back ground a material document is create with movement type 101 which you can see in the PO history. The biggest advantage of using the service entry is the financial implication. When service entry is done A g/l account for ex service account is debited and GR/IR is credited. Which is then cleared at Invoice posting and liability created towards vendor.
If you do not do a service entry you will have to track these manually as to services of what value is performed and inform to finance.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks and regards,
    Siddharth
