Clock keeps going forward

My iPhone's clock keeps setting itself 8 hours forwards. Time zone stays the same (London). At the same time I get an alarm for an appointment from December 2008 - I never have alarms for any of my appointments.
Also, the phone keeps turning itself off (even with full battery).
Any ideas what's going on?
Many thanks

  • Nano keeps going forward

    hey
has anyone elses' nano decided for no reason to stop playing songs, keep selecting the next track and then the next etc... no album art comes up and no photos either.
its like the right arrow is stuck but i have checked and it is fine. but no matter what i do it keeps going forward.

yeah, my nano started doing the exact same thing last night, it just randomly skips the next 2-4 songs whenever a song is finished, or when the right button is pushed. It seems to work fine when pushing the left button though.

  • Satellite Pro M30: Clock keeps going 1h back

    Hi,
One of the users has a Satellite Pro, model No:PSM35E, the clock on the PC keeps going 1hr back. Even after the clock is changed to the correct settings (GMT...etc, Daylight saving is ticked). But when it's restarted it defaults to go back 1hr?
    Any known issues with this???
    Regards
    Raz.

    Hi Raz
I have found this issue on many PC forums and it is not related to specific PC or notebook and the strange is that I have never found any explanation for this. If your unit is permanent online I recommend you to use Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server option in Date and Time properties.

  • IMac OS X (Mavericks) time/clock keeps going out of sync

    Hi,
I have a late 2012 27" iMac Intel desktop and for the last few weeks the clock/time does not stay in Sync. It seems to 'gain' around 1 minute per day. It is set to update automatically from the 'set date and time automatically' and if I check then uncheck the box in settings it corrects.
This seems a simple solution but it is not a 'fix'. The bigger issue is I run a Parallels Windows to run my desktop trading software (I am a full-time market trader), which takes the time from the OS X enviroment. This has caused HUGE problems as I took several trades on the DOW eMini, believing the New York market had opened (we trade to the second) only to later discover I was several minutes early on each trade which ended up costing me several thousands of £'s.
Suddenly the problem isn't a small issue any more and I need to know how to remedy it. I now return to the settings window every few hours to reset it but its not a solution.
I have seen posts relating to the problem which describe how one needs to recompile elements of the operating system but I fail to see how this should be necessary when I have paid for a premium product. Surely keeping time is something Apple feels is important?
Any help would be well received, thank you.

I must admit I'm a little perplexed at how something as simple as timekeeping seems to be such an issue. I'd have thought that's a bit of an abacus moment for Apple...
It is not normally an issue at all, unlike Frank though I have seen it before, only once, and in a current thread.
Here is the other thread: Re: Clock not right, and more
And just like this one I do not have a definitive answer for you I am afraid.

  • PlayBook going forward from "formerly proud" owner of 3 PlayBooks

Like I am sure many current owners of the PlayBook, the announcement that the device was not going to receive BB10, nor any "significant" updates going forward was a major letdown. From the time I bought my first PlayBook in late 2011, I thought that this tablet had a bright future, with its awesome hardware, and despite at the time flaky software.
How wrong was I, and now I am left at a crossroads: Stick with the mediocre software selection in the BlackBerry store, the increasingly outdated browser, and the knowledge that my BlackBerry bridge will no longer work with BB10 devices, or bail on this product altogether?
I think if BlackBerry has truly abandoned this product line, they owe it to current owners to be able to breathe new life into the machine, and considering there will be no more development on the software side, free the device up to port another OS (i.e. Android).  HP did this with their failed Touch Pad, why can`t BlackBerry?
I still think that the tablet's hardware is very decent by current standards, it is just the software that makes it a mediocre machine.
    Do the right thing BlackBerry!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Agreed - Time to move on and go with a company that is serious about it's clientele. I kept two tablets for videos for my 2-year old twin boys, with one doubling up as an expensive alarm clock. The third tablet was gifted to my in-laws, who don't know much about tech anyway. Perhaps in a year's time, when Blackberry is history, I can keep them as collector's items...

  • Computer Clock keeps getting reset

My computer clock keeps resetting itself. I have replaced the PRAM battery with a brand new one and I still am receiving this error message. What else could be going on?

The card was already installed, working fine. To troubleshoot another issue (I cannot export video from my Canopus ADVC300), I removed all PCI cards. All 4 slots are used. After I removed the 4 PCI cards, my Mac started losing time. I then replaced the PRAM battery and reset the PRAM. This didn't solve the issue. When I put the other 3 PCI cards back in, nothing happened as well. When I put the Sonnet Tempo SATA back in, the computer started retaining the time. Unfortunately, I the computer is not retaining the time anymore- even with all 4 PCI cards installed. How do you reset the MOBO?

  • Is Apple going to support a 5 year old computer or am I better off switching to PCs going forward?

It's been frustrating since I got an Ipad given as a gift and tried to connect it to my otherwise perfectly working G5. Cannot install new Itunes unless I upgrade to OS 10.5, cannot upgrade to the widely available and cheaper OS 10.6 because I have a Power PC and not an Intel processor, cannot upgrade to 10.5 (easily) as Apple does not support the location where I live outside the US. I can only purchase a more expensive copy on the internet - hope that what I will get will be legit and spend through the nose to upgrade to an already obsolete operating system.
On the other hand, Windows XP is still supported, so my ancient laptop has now become my "Ipad" computer. Considering upgrading as that one is really slow, but I am weary on investing on another Mac, indeed, more expensive than PCs. I always thought they were worth it, but if now Apple forces us to replace our home computers every three or four years, then I no longer see the point of sticking with Macs.
Has anyone found a way to run Itunes for Ipad, AppleTV on older OS versions? or any idea if Apple plans to release an Itunes that will work on their own computers?

I'm not trying to be intentionally dismissive but no, Apple is done with PowerPC hardware. There will be no new upgrades for any software that will run on that hardware. With OS X 10.7 Lion Apple has completed their transition to Intel processors and going forward that is what they will support. If you wish to stay in the Apple eco-system you'll have to purchase new hardware; or, as you ask, you can go wtih Windows. I also would not count on WinXP being supported for very much longer either. So either way, if you wish to keep using iDevices, and iTunes and the iTunes Store you will have to upgrade to a modern, supported operating system from either Apple or MS.

  • My Clock Keeps Setting Time Wrong

    Hi there,
I have a 15" MacBook Pro from Dec 2011 which has a bit of a problem. Recently (within the last couple of months), the clock keeps setting itself ahead 3 hours. I have no idea why. I even unchecked it setting from the clock at apple, and took my city out. But almost every time that I log in, it sets itself ahead three hours, and sometimes a whole day and three hours forward.
I reset the SMC, as well as the PRAM. It still does it most of the time (sometimes it does get it right).
I have no idea what to do anymore. I've looked online and couldn't find any other recommendations, so I'm wondering if anyone else had some ideas.
    Running Mavericks btw.
Thanks for any help or info.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I receive messages in my spam folder which are not spam. I keep marking them as not spam, but subsequent messages keep going to spam. How do I stop this.

If the email address in question in in your address book you need to look outside of Thunderbird for your problem, like the spam filter on your anti virus program. or is that internet security suite.

  • I purchased a blu-ray of The Hunger Games and it came with a code for a digital copy. I redeemed the code on iTunes but the download has been continuing for 2 weeks now and it never finishes! The time just keeps going up. Never an issue in the past.

I purchased the blu-ray of The Hunger Games and it came with a code to redeem for a digital copy. I redeemed the code in iTunes and the movie downloaded fine, but the "EXTRAS" have been downloading for 2 weeks! Everytime I launch iTunes it starts the download again and the counter keeps going UP, at one point it said it would take 3 weeks. I have paused and restarted the download, I have deleted the download, nothing works to finish or stop this download! Does anyone have a clue what's up?

ps when syncing it jumps through steps 1 - 4 real fast, i seem to remeber iphone showing the number of tracks transferring and names, but i see nothing? then it sits on 5 saying "waiting for changes to be applied"

If the amount of the purchase is close to $21.07, then you need to take into account taxes may be added.
If you go beyond the credit from a gift card the balance will be billed to your credit card account.

  • I know I've heard that iPads/iPhones can't get viruses but is it possible that they can? While using my iPad, it keeps going in and out of apps. On Facebook, status and profiles keep getting clicked and it keeps zooming in and out. Can anyone help

I Have an iPad mini, iOS 8.1. When I'm on my iPad, it keeps going in and out of random apps. Going to settings is the worse. As soon as I click settings and it opens,it starts clicking different things and tries turning on and off settings! In Facebook, profiles and status get clicked. The screen zooms in and out multiple times. It reminds me of when you call the help desk for a computer or a computer at work and they gain access and move around clicking and you're doing nothing. Basically things are being clicked and I'm not doing it.....can anyone help?

At this point, I would go for reset to its factory default condition, using the iTunes program to get a clean system install. That way you'll clean everything out and just have it set up the way it would come from the factory. You'll need to do your backup (on the iTunes program too) and be sure you understand which stuff will be saved and which will not (from the links below). Also turn off any anti-virus program you may have on your desktop. Then when you reset it to the factory default condition, don't restore your backup just yet ... until you check it out without your data put back on it. Verify its operation first, to make sure that you know it's okay. Hopefully everything is okay at that point, otherwise you'll have to take it into Apple to check it out for any hardware failure.
