Clock module on 9140
Hello,
My switch is MDS9140. Here is the 'show envir' result:
`show environment`
Clock:
Clock Model Hw Status
A Clock Module -- not present/------
B Clock Module -- not present/------
IS my switch ok? Does it should have a clock module? Can anybody tell me that?
And I met some problems on MDS interfaces. I follow the guidance to do some 'show hardware internal fc-mac ...' command. Can anybody tell me where I can find command reference of these commands?
Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Sha
HI Nisha..
You can ensure that a PAI module is only called when a
certain condition applies by using the following
statement:
<b>FIELD <f> MODULE <mod> ON INPUT|REQUEST|*-INPUT.</b>
The additions have the following effects:
<b>ON INPUT</b>
The ABAP module is called only if the field contains a
value other than its initial value. This initial value is
determined by the data type of the field: Space for
character fields, zero for numeric fields. Even if the
user enters the initial value of the screen as the
initial value, the module is not called. (ON REQUEST, on
the other hand, does trigger the call in this case.)
<b>ON REQUEST</b>
The module <mod> is only called if the user has entered
something in the field. This includes cases when the user
overwrites an existing value with the same value, or
explicitly enters the initial value.
In general, the <b>ON REQUEST</b> condition is triggered
through any form of "manual input". As well as user
input, the following additional methods of entering
values also call the module:
The element attribute PARAMETER-ID (SPA/GPA parameters).
The element attribute HOLD DATA
CALL TRANSACTION ... USING
Automatic settings of particular global fields
ON *-INPUT
The ABAP module is called if the user has entered a "*"
in the first character of the field, and the field has
the attribute *-entry in the Screen Painter. When the
input field is passed to the program, the * is removed. *
behaves like an initial field in the ON INPUT condition.
If it helps Reward with Points

Rk

Catalyst 4507R+E Clock Module
Hi,
I noticed that my 4507R+E chassis have the following module installed:
WS-X4K-CLOCK-E
I found in this EOL announcement that it's the clock module for 4507R-E chassis and is EoS since 2013:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-4500-series-switches/eol_C51-715893.html
Why the same module is installed in the new chassis and there are no spare parts available ?
Thanks,
AronThis catalyst 4507R-E whit this Supervisor Supervisor II+ WS-X4013+ suppourt thos module WS-X4648-RJ45V+E ?
No, your supervisor only supports classic linecards but the WS-4648-RJ45V+E is not a classic line card so it is not supported. Have a look at this link and refer to Table 1 which shows which supervisors you could use with this card -

XFCE4: Could not open "clock" module [solved]
This has been a problem for me for a while, and it's utterly annoying. I can't add a clock to my GUI. And when I finally mess around with it and get it to appear one way or another, it disappears the next time I start XFCE.
How can I get a clock on my panel?!
Last edited by synthead (2007-05-31 09:05:53)/usr/bin is not the start directory when starting xfce4-panel, probably your home directory so if there is a clock folder/file there, loading the module fails. But if you can add the clock and after a restart it is gone (and the ~/.config/xfce4/panel/panel.xml file has no clock entry), you probably have some permission problem.

LMS 3.2 and Catalyst 4500 WS-X4648-RJ45-E module card
Hi all,
I have a rpoblem with a specific client with LMS 3.2. We are using LMS 3.2 on Windows 2008 and everything seem to be working OK. The issue is in the CiscoView with the 4500 switches. CiscoView can see the supervisors on all 4500 switches (6); but cannot see the switchcards when the switchcards are WS-X4648-RJ45-E. Find the sh inv output below:

I have updated the s/w to 12.2(53) SG1 with no luck.
Any ideas?Hi Nicos,
I have exactly the same issue with LMS 3.2 CiscoView under Windows 2003 and catalyst switch 4506-E.
4506-E are in IOS 12.2(53)SG2.
I installed latest 4500IOS V 19.0 ciscoview device package without success.
Did you fix your problem ? -
Kernel upgrade - no module loading
No other way to put it, guys: Arch Linux has just gone completely batshit on me.
I just upgraded to the 2.6.11 kernel, which is now in the Current repo.
However, something seems to have been missed during the update... Because when I boot, my system tells me that finding the module dependencies has failed, hotplug screws up and says that it can't find something (isapnp.map IIRC, or something like that - zoomed by too damn fast and it was too late during boot for dmesg to retrieve), and my modules do not load.
And boy do I mean it when I say I've got no modules... nothing, not even the realtime clock module.
I can't modprobe stuff either. When I do, I get a message saying that the modules dir for kernel 2.6.10 cannot be found.
In other words, it seems that some config file somewhere still says that I'm using kernel 2.6.10, and that's screwing me over completely. So could someone please point me to the config file that gives the kernel modules dir?
As of right now, I'm using a live CD to post here. I'll have to use this until I can get Arch Linux unfucked.
(I ought to post a bug on this... Not registered yet on bugs.archlinux.org though, I'll have to get that done.)
P.S. Don't worry, I'm not angry at the package maintainers... Shit happens, after all.I had the same problems, new kernel26-scsi, reboot, and a bunch of error messages starting hotplug daemon (line bla error in modules bla file):

No modules where found, only the ones I had in my modules section of rc.conf. Errm. So I loaded my nic module by hand, started network deamon, and did pacman -Sf kernel26-scsi hotplug. Minutes later, I rebooted, and all things where fine - until I fired up gnome, and found out, I could not start it anymore. But gnome 2.1o is another story. -
Sync iPhone Clock with Atomic Clock
I bought a couple of apps that connect to the Atomic time server and although they work well, all they can do is show me the time difference between the iPhone clock and the real time on the Atomic clock server (offset).
I wrote to the app's manufacturer and they told me that apple will not allow them access to the iPhone's clock so that it can be corrected.
I am just wondering why.
I really hope it is not because apple plan to launch a new phone sometime in the future with this function!
I know it must be possible and relatively easy for apple to enable this feature on the iphone so please somebody please explain to me the real reason for this. Almost every phone I have ever owned has had the ability to be updated and synced by either my pc or some app, so I really can't understand why apple would have disabled this feature. I have my clock set to automatically update itself but it is ALWAYS about 30 seconds off! What's the point of that?
Does anyone know of any way to enable this feature so that my iphone clock updates itself every time I connect it to my PC for example?
Many Thanks in advance for your help. No, this has nothing to do with any carrier. I still have my 3G whose clock (always) is to the second with my atomic clocks at home (or my computers for that matter.) Both iPhone 4's in my family are off; one by 40 seconds, one by almost a minute, and increasing. They simply do not sync. I suspect that the clock module in the 4G is of an inferior quality.

Archlinux 2.6.27 on HP nc6000, bad performance
Hello guys.
I have a problem with performance on my laptop. I have tried several things but it didn't help. I'm using newest xorg, kernel, xfce and open ati drivers from arch repo. My graphic card is ati mobility 9600. I have noapi option on kernel load. The problem is that everything is working bit slowly. I was using modified slackware before and everything were fine with older versions of xorg, kernel and driver. So i think this is the problem.
Here's my dmesg:
[areiks@areiks ~]$ dmesg

Any ideas? Maybe somone has this notebook? Maybe its driver problem? But in glxgears i have about 1,1k FPS and also i have direct rendering.
I wish you could help me. Thanks anyway.
Last edited by areiks (2008-12-21 21:46:46)Hello guys.

Hi,
I purchased a WS-X4248-RJ45V for a 4507R-E switch. The sh ver and sh inventory output is below. Will this blade work in slot 6 of this device? I believe from what I am seeing this is the only slot available.

LynneCIMC's can by updated without interupting blades. I preffer updating CIMC's first, and have mixed 2.0 and 1.4 Bios and Mez card without any trouble a few times. Best to control CIMC, Bios, and Mez card code level with Firmware policies.
The 2.0 code has new OS drivers so be sure and check that out. Have mixed 2.0 and 1.4 a few times both ways and never made a difference. Due to a lazy SCCM admin ran 2.0 OS drivers on 1.4 blade firmware for a few months. Didn't make a difference. This is all with Windows 2008R2.
Over time have found that this is the best order for updating code levels on Cisco UCS. This way the UCSM keeps communication between itself down to the CIMC through the update process. Note that the IOM’s wait until their FI reboots to reboot and update code level.
This is considered the “Bottom Up” method. Some prefer the “Top Down” method but I have found it much less smooth and harder to recover from if something goes wrong.
Always backup configuration before upgrading code levels.
Should go
1) CIMC
2) IOM (which will wait until the FI’s update)
3) UCSM
4) FI X (Which ever is the current passive FI)
5) FI X (Second FI)

A75MA-G55: Lab Burst Mode temp sensor bug
Me and a friend were on a quest to find the best BLK frequency on stock voltage and finally arrived on 153MHz to be the max possible on stock voltage.
We went some benchmarking on 7-zip, GTA4 and wPrime without problems, only we can't measure the cpu core temperature because of that no software can't give us an honest result.
Then our heads came up with an idea, howbout 2hours Prime95 then quick reboot and check temps from Bios.
2 hours later quick reboot, enter bios and there we almost passed out... CPU temperature: 128 degrees Celsius but case temp on 27degrees C.
We left the system off for 3 hours then checked again from a cold boot, 128 degrees C again! then we changed to default settings and there we go 25 degrees C, we switched back to LabBurstMode and temperature showed us again 128 degrees C.
Maybe this was a planned Helloween trick from the MSI team But this have to be looked at.
System:
2x A8-3850 chips
2x 1866MHz Kingston 4GB
2x 1600MHz OCZ Gold 2GB
MSI A75MA-G55
Asrock A75Pro4-M
500GB WD Black
2x 500GB WD Green
Corsair TX650I checked the changelogs for the standard BIOS release series of the A75MA-G55. There are two references to "Lab Burst Mode".
The first appears in the changelog for the E7696AMS.138 [v1.3b8] release:
- Change setup item "Enhanced Spread Spectrum" to "Lab Burst Mode".
The second reference appears in the changelog for the E7696AMS.139 [v1.3b9] release:
- Fixed Lab Burst Mode always enable when OC more than 133Mhz successful then load default.
That tells us three things:
1) The option should be available be available in the E7696AMS.130 final release under the name "Lab Burst Mode" and as "Enhanced Spread Spectrum" in all final releases before that.
2) The "old name" for that option suggests that it has to do with "clock modulation" (because that is what Spread Spectrum generally does).
3) Spread Spectrum probably may need to be enabled first in order to get access to the "Lab Burst Mode"/"Enhanced Spread Spectrum" option. -
Monitoring dual core (Supervisor Engine 7-E) through EEM Script.
Hi,
I have a Cisco Catalyst 4500E Supervisor Engine 7-E and configured an EEM Script to monitor the dual core CPU Utilization through PRTG Network Monitor.
event manager applet dualcore authorization bypass
event timer cron cron-entry "* * * * 0-6"
action 100 cli command "en"
action 120 cli command "show process cpu | include five"
action 220 regexp "Core 0: CPU utilization for five seconds: ([^%]+)%; one minute: ([^%]+)%; five minutes: ([^%]+)%.*" $_cli_result result c0cpu5sec c0cpu1min c0cpu5min
action 240 if $_regexp_result eq 1
action 260 end
action 320 regexp "Core 1: CPU utilization for five seconds: ([^%]+)%; one minute: ([^%]+)%; five minutes: ([^%]+)%.*" $_cli_result result c1cpu5sec c1cpu1min c1cpu5min
action 340 if $_regexp_result eq 1
action 360 end
action 440 cli command "config t"
action 441 cli command "snmp mib expression owner cisco name c0cpu5sec"
action 442 cli command "expression $c0cpu5sec"
action 443 cli command "snmp mib expression owner cisco name c0cpu1min"
action 444 cli command "expression $c0cpu1min"
action 445 cli command "snmp mib expression owner cisco name c0cpu5min"
action 446 cli command "expression $c0cpu5min"
action 550 cli command "config t"
action 551 cli command "snmp mib expression owner cisco name c1cpu5sec"
action 552 cli command "expression $c1cpu5sec"
action 553 cli command "snmp mib expression owner cisco name c1cpu1min"
action 554 cli command "expression $c1cpu1min"
action 555 cli command "snmp mib expression owner cisco name c1cpu5min"
action 556 cli command "expression $c1cpu5min"
action 600 cli command "end"
end
It works fine but on the logging buffer there are a lot of %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by on vty0 (EEM:moncores) messages -one per minute- here an example:
Oct 29 17:54:01: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by on vty0 (EEM:dualcore)
Oct 29 17:55:01: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by on vty0 (EEM:dualcore)
Oct 29 17:56:01: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by on vty0 (EEM:dualcore)
Oct 29 17:57:01: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by on vty0 (EEM:dualcore)
I considered to use the logging suppress duplicates command to prevent the consecutive logging of more than one copy of the same system logging (syslog) message but it is only available to the Cisco IOS XR.
Someone could help me to determine if it is possible to avoid this messages through Embedded Syslog Manager, I tried to do that but
I was not successful.
Regards,
~SergioHi,
I did transitioned CLI actions to the EXPRESSION-MIB SNMP but I could not receive anything information about the dualcore utilization on the PRTG Network Monitor and received a lot of %HA_EM-7-FMFD_SNMP_ERRCODE: fh_fd_snmp_errcode: Error status: 6 NO_ACCESS_ERROR: 1. messages on the WS-C4507.
Considering the initial EEM script, could ypu help me to avoid the %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by on vty0 (EEM:moncores)
messages using Embedded Syslog Manager.
Here some snmpwalk to validate that I could not get the OIDs to monitor both cores.
STEP 1 Only one value is given because there is only one physical cpu.

Hi,
I have the following verilog code:
`timescale 1ns / 1ps
module top(
reg clk = 1;
always
#1.25 clk <= ~clk;
wire temp;
//wire temp2; // added later
assign temp = clk;
//assign temp2 = clk; //added later
endmodule
When I simulate this, I see "CLK" as expected but "temp" just has the value 1 and no waveform. When I uncomment the lines marked as "//added later", I can see "CLK" and "temp2" waveforms as expected. But "temp" is still stuck at 1 and there's not waveform for it.
Then I commented the lines marked as "//added later" again and there's not waveform for "temp". Then I renamed "temp" to "temp2" and simulated. This time I could see "CLK" and "temp2" waveforms in the simulation window toggling as expected.
It could be that I'm just not seeing the waveforms. For example in the first scenario, I'm just seeing a "1" and no waveform. There are also some other signals that when added to the wave window don't show a waveform. How can I enable the waveform?
Thanks,
I tried using a separate module for clock generation as you suggested. In my top level module I instantiate two clocks "CLK_20MHz" and "CLK_25MHz". When I simulate I can see the waveform of both clocks. Then, from the clock module, I add the register "CLK". However, I see no waveforms for "CLK". But when I add "$monitor("%d,\t%b",$time, CLK);" inside the clock module, I can see in the logs that "CLK" is actually toggling as expected. I don't know why the simulation window doesn't show the waveform? And how I can show/enable the waveform?

Suspend2 and the new archck kernel (2.6.15) with initrd
Hi everybody,
Afret upgrade from archck 2.6.13 to 2.6.15 my system does not resume any longer. I think that I should follow the instruction at the http://suspend2.epfl.ch/HOWTO-2.html which says:
Initrd/Initramfs's with Suspend2
Using an initrd with Suspend2 is possible. To use this, you MUST edit your linuxrc (or init) script to contain the line
echo > /proc/suspend2/do_resume
BEFORE the script mounts your filesystem. If the line is missing, your system will not resume. If the line comes after mounting file systems, you will most likely suffer from filesystem corruption. You have been warned.
You can now recompile your kernel with Suspend2...
What file should I edit, I did not find any linuxrc file?
Thanks in advance,
mdvThis is the full dmesg output.

NB voltage control not working
I'm on a 790XT-G45 (2.5 BIOS although I have tried other BIOS') which supposedly supports a 2600 MHz NB. There is nothing I can do to even get the board to post with a 2600 NB and raising the NB voltage doesn't seem to do anything either. If I can get into Windows (only sometimes) @ 2400 MHz NB, and then increase voltage through overdrive, it stays stable.
So the question is how can I raise the NB voltage on this board? The BIOS setting that raises NB voltage in conjunction with HT link doesn't seem to really do anything.
Otherwise does anyone know a way to get Overdrive to allow you to change the NB multiplier so I can just overclock it in Windows? I'm not happy with a 2400 NB and even worse it hardly will ever get into Windows with stock voltage and this frequency so really I'm stuck below 2200 MHz.
Should I RMA the board?Quote from: wlahdone on 13-February-11, 21:31:36
I have opened up AMD Overdrive ,Enabled Advanced ,Clock voltage andi see CMOS Items-> CPU NB Multi and NB Vid present ,but i presume you need to enable ACC to change them.I did not play with this values though.I have never gone to more than 2400 M with my CPU on any motherboard with mild voltages for the NB.But either the BIOS menu would freeze either Windows freezes. There is an increase in the speed games are loaded but thats it .I doubt you can achieve more on another motherboard. You are beating a dead horse in my opinion.Do some CPU clock overclocking better with a proper cooler.Try a 1T timing for RAM and you will get more on the memory performance side.
I have all those enabled and I still cannot access the cmos items section. Can you tell me specifically what you have set? I can adjust NB VID under the voltages section but I cannot adjust the mutiplier in the CMOS items section.
MANY, MANY users are reporting having ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS getting a 2600 MHz NB-CPU frequency, and many are pushing that easily to 2800 and even 3000 MHz. According to AMD themselves, (http://sites.amd.com/us/Documents/AMD_Dragon_AM3_AM2_Performance_Tuning_Guide.pdf, scroll to the bottom), you can expect 2800-3000 MHz on the NB link, with 1.35-1.5v - basically you can run your NB voltage as high as your CPU.
As far as overclocking, I am pushing 4.2GHz, on high end water (CPU & GPU) and I have added MOSFET coolers to the board so I'm pretty sure I'm good. Regardless I would like to push the board as far as it will go, and even at stock frequencies, and two different CPU's, I cannot get the NB frequency stable above 2300 MHz or so. Look it up, people are reporting better performance with a higher NB frequency, especially with higher clocked modules and overclocking.
All I'm expecting this board to do is what all the other boards can do - to be able to increase the NB frequency to at least 2600 MHz. If I am beating a dead horse, it's because MSI users have given up and accepted lack of support as a status quo. It would probably take no time at all to add a NB-CPU voltage adjustment to the BIOS. And yes I have contacted them so we'll see what happens. If this board is supposed to support up to 5200 M/T, then I would like to see it. -
Monitoring and preventing disk accesses
Is there an easy way to find out which programs are accessing the disk?
Just curious, I already found out by elimination what was making my nice silent laptop an annoying krr-krr-krr thing keeping me from concentrating: the enlightenment clock module. Weird but true.
To prevent disk accesses as much as reasonable, I might mount /home/me on a tmpfs . Any ideas about how to do that in a reasonably safe way (ie saving to disk every hour and at logout)? And what about unionfs? Does anyone here use it for anything? Would it be useful for this?

Try lsof (console) and/or glsof (gui) package.

Stack trace gives line numbers when src is present in package hierachy?
hi, does anyone know why the lines numbers of the source code are only given in exception traces when the source code is present alongside the class files in the package hierachy? I'm guessing this is because there is not enough information in the cl
