Cloning and LD_ASSUME_KERNEL

A small issue. I have an 11.5.10CU2 system that the application tier is running on Linux 4.x. I am upgrading to Linux 5.5. I know I must relink everything but there is a problem with LD_ASSUME_KERNEL being unset for Linux 5.5. The patch to remove this from the .sh files is Patch 6365595. My question. When can I apply this patch since when I source my APPS environment file the "ls" command stops working, so I can't source any of that? Just trying to get my timings for certain events down for when I go at it in UAT. Thanks.

  • Why is the cloning and healing tool in lightroom 5 no longer showing the stamp where it is replacing from?

    When I use the cloning and healing tool it used to show a stamp indicating where it was replacing from. It suddenly stopped working. I can still remove spots but cannot move it around to see where I could use alternate space to clone or heal.

    The source should show on both Heal and Clone.  Hit the H key to turn them off and on or pick one of the options in the Toolbar.

  • Cloning and Synchronizing Oracle BI Requests and Dashboards Using CAF

    Hi,
    Cloning and Synchronizing Oracle BI Requests and Dashboards Using Content Accelerator Framework (CAF)
    what is this and in what scenario we use it? Is it useful for webcatalog/rpd migration from one env to other?
    Thanks
    Jay.

    Hi Jay,
    CAF is a utility that is used in migration of logical part of RPD and catalog objects from source to target environments. There are bunch of OBIEE bloggers already blogged about this a while ago. Check this article out, it should provide the information you are looking for: ( http://debaatobiee.wordpress.com/2009/11/26/playing-with-cafobiee-content-accelerator-framework/ ).
    FYI - If you are working in 11g environment, this tool (CAF) as far as I know is not supported. This tool was introduced by oracle few months before 11g came out which everyone thought would be big on revolutionizing the way migrations are done in OBIEE between environments.

  • Elements 9 Cloning and Healing problems

    My Cloning and Healing Tool doesn't work correctly. Both very often puts what I am cloning or healing (with content aware) somewhere else on the photo other than where I want it. Sometimes it put a large streak accross the photo as I make a small correction somewhere else. It use to work fine. System: Win 7, 64bit, large memory, large Hard Drive, new computer, no other software has been installed... Thanks so much

    Thanks Barbara. This did make my problem a lot better, but it still misses up from time to time as discribed, so I just hit rest tool in top left corner and then I'm good to go for awhile. I can live with that, unless you have another idea that can help.  Thanks so much.

  • What is the exact difference between Database Cloning and Database Refresh?

    Hi,
    Can anybody tel me the exact difference between Database Cloning and Database Refresh?
    I Have some conflicts in these topics.
    Thanks
    Rajesh

    Refresh is what it says, "refresh" . You have a main site which would always have the data being inserted into it. There would be another site which would remain some where else . This site needs to be refreshed with the primary site. So you need to do export from the primary, push it to the secondary site and done!

  • Cloning and New C Drive

    Greetings, I have a T450S with a 512 gB SSD in the main bay.  I picked up a 256 M.2 that I put in for extra storage.  I would like to transfer the OS and all my programs to the M.2 and keep my files and whatnot on the SSD.  If I simply clone the SSD (I'll remove files to get it under 256 gB) to the M.2 can I then just rename it to the C drive?  I've heard of people cloning and then running into issues with programs because it's looking for things on the C drive but the clone is now D or something.  Photoshop is known for this issue and it's one of the primary tools I use, so if that's any concern then it's a no go for me. Thanks,

    Pretty sure you can't rename a drive with the same letter as the current old one (i.e., if you have a C drive, your new one will automatically pick a different letter; you have to rename the current C drive to another letter before naming another drive as C). But, if you clone the drive properly, it should take all the properties of the original drive, including the letter. If you're keeping both drives in the machine, you'll have to rename the old one and play around with some settings so it doesn't give you problems. If this doesn't work, it might be easier to just reinstall your programs on the new drive.

  • Could anybody explain what  is the difference between cloning and refresh

    Hi,
    Could anybody explain what is the difference between cloning and refresh
    What exactly we do in only E-business suite clone(Database and applications) and only database clone and refresh
    Regards,

    Welcome to the forum,
    Database Cloning includes cloning the ORACLE_HOME of the database and the copying of data from source to target instance.
    Database Refresh includes copying of data from source to target instance. ORACLE_HOME is not copied during a Database refresh.
    Similarly Apps cloning includes cloning the techstack, i.e the 806, iAS homes along with APPL_TOP, COMMON_TOP and the Database
    Apps refersh is again copying the database from source to target. The techstack or the APPL_TOP or COMMON_TOP are not copied during an Apps refresh

  • Photoshop cc 2014 suddenly trouble with cloning and healing tool

    I just updated photoshop cc 2014. I use a wacom tablet. Suddenly, when I use the healing brush or cloning brush. The brush control panel pops up and the tool simply doesn't work. After repeated attempts, I do succeed in getting this to work. Sure slows me down though.

    Sorry for the lack of the report it was my first time reporting an error for software... Never had an issue before.
    I haven't experienced the crash via text tool since I posted the question, but the Photoshop is still constantly crashing at startup, but every time I try to enter the report I get the error: Please try again later.m5

  • SOA 10.1.3.5  - cloning and pointing to a new database

    We plan to move a web application to a new server and here is the information:
    The front-end is SOA suite 10.1.3.5; application was built with Jdeveloper and ADF; BPEL process Manager is not used; Enterprise Service Bus is not used.
    the backend is a Oracle database.
    Old server: Windows server 2003, currently hosting SOA and the database;
    New server: Windows server 2008.
    We need to move both front-end and back-end to the new server. I know how to move the database.
    I would like to know if either of the following is possible:
    1. Clone SOA suite to the new server, and let it point to the new database on the server;
    2. Install SOA 10.1.3.1 on the new server, and upgrade it to 10.1.3.5. Then move the deployed instance from the old server to the new one, and point it to the new database.
    I have read chapter 9 of SOA administrator guide, but not sure if the cloned instance can point to the new database. Please help. Thank you!

  • SOA Managed Server cloning and adding it to a cluster.

    Hi,
    The following is the configuration I have in my machine already.
    ->Weblogic 10.3
    ->Domain : soa_domain
    ->Contains AdminServer and a soa manged server (soa_server1)
    I would like to have another managed server (soa_server2) so that I can create a cluster around soa_server1 , soa_server2.
    Note : I have only one machine here and both my managed servers are going to be on the same machine.
    What is the easiest way to do the same. I tried out the cloning of existing managed server ( soa_server1) to create another managed server(soa_server2) but it doesnt make a complete copy ie., the Jdbc,jms,wormanagers,application deployments etc...are not copied.
    Is it possible to create an exact replica of an existing managed server with all the deployments and conofgurations.
    Help is appreciated. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Sridhar.

    If you did not build the cluster in the first place, I don't think it is possible to add a cluster and a second server.
    You can add nodes to exsisting clusters but the last time we tried adding a cluster and a second node, we could not do it.

  • Do I need to re-enable Core Storage after cloning and swapping out my HDD?

    I swapped out the internal hard drive of my mid-2012 13" MacBook Pro for an SSD. I'm very pleased with the performance gains so far — it feels like a whole new Mac. I cloned my HDD to the SSD before installing using Carbon Copy Cloner and I also created a Recovery partition using the same software. Now after doing the hardware swap, verything is working perfectly — no issues at all. Here's my question:
    I know that when I upgraded to Yosemite, my hard drive was converted from old-fashioned GUID partitions to the new Core Storage and a logical volume group partition. After the clone and hardware swap, I'm back to old-fashioned partitions, no more Core Storage. Do I need to manually re-enable Core Storage? (I've read about how to do this, and I feel confident I can follow the steps.) What are the benefits of this? Will a future Yosemite (hypothetical 10.10.3?) update put it back for me? Or is it fine to proceed the way I am now? I'm not currently using FileVault 2, which I know also uses Core Storage.
    Thanks.

    No, you don't have to convert to CoreStorage unless you decide to create a Fusion drive out of your SSD and HDD.

  • Cloning and Unit Of Work

    Hello,
    I have asked this question years ago and unfortunately I dont remember the answer.
    When I do the following code
    Employee employee = new Employee();
    Employee empClone = (Employee)uow.registerObject(employee);
    Does TopLink Unit Of Work framework clone the dependent objects of Employee as well or only the primary object i.e. Employee and its direct fields only ? Say Employee had a Vector of PhoneNumbers. Do the phone number objects get cloned as well ?
    Thanks and apologies if its a FAQ. If somebody could point me to the relevant URL that would be more than sufficient.
    Thanks,
    Aswin.

    The UnitOfWork will clone all reachable objects to form a complete isolated graph of objects for the scope of the transaction. This is minimized with indirection. When a relationship is reached that uses indirection (lazy loading) then the associated object(s) are not cloned until requested.

  • Best way of cloning and changing to a new internal harddrive

    Hello all,
    I have bought a 500gb seagate momentus 7200 harddrive that I want to upgrade my macbookpro with.
    Is the best solution to first clone the internal drive to this new drive with superduper, and then do the actually change, or is there another better way to do this??
    The machine is a 4.1, from March 2008 with a current 200gb internal drive.

    But wouldn't this be a bit risky if the time machine restore doesn't work. I remind you that I'm not doing the actual change myself due to warranty issues...
    I have restored from a Time Machine backup many, many times. It works like a charm. However, it is never a good idea to place all one's eggs in one basket. Can I assume that you already have an external enclosure in which to place either the old or the new drive? If you run into problems restoring from Time Machine, you'll always have Disk Utility and its "Restore" function. Your fallback would be to place the old drive in the enclosure, boot to the Leopard DVD, connect the enclosure/old drive, then use Disk Utility's Restore function to "clone" the old drive to the new. Still, I would recommend using Time Machine, with the cloning option held in reserve.
    Does a Time Machine backup hold all program installs etc also?
    Provided you have chosen to backup application and system files (the default), YES! Performing a full restore from a Time Machine backup restores...... everything. There are only two "byproducts" of performing a full restore:
    1) Your startup volume must be re-indexed by Spotlight when you boot to the restored installation the first time. This takes a while, and uses a lot of CPU while it is in progress.
    2) Mail will take a minute or so to "re-import" your mailbox folders the first time it is run after performing the restore. If I am not mistaken, this is only to re-index.

  • MacBook HD cloning and partitioning ext HD

    I have a MacBook, 13.3", A1342.   Its hard drive has the symptoms of being about to fail.  So, I would like to try to clone the HD prior to replacing it.  I have 3 external hard drives which are partially full.  None have been partitioned.  Any could accept the fullback up of the failing HD.  Not sure I have this figured out properly but here's my plan:
    Connect 2 external hard drives to my MacBook Pro.  Use the MBP to drag and drop files from one ext hd to the other ext hd.  Once one has been completely backed up to the other, erase it and partition it with 3 partitions (MacBook, iPad and iPad) using Disk Utility, so I will have an ext HD dedicated to that set of computers. I digress... I then clone the failing hd to the newly partitioned ext hd.
    Once successfully cloned, I replace the hd of the MacBook with a new one and clone it using the cloned HD.
    FWIW - I have a cloning application - SuperDuper - but do not have the install disk which came with the MacBook (ask my wife why).  Hence the cloning method.
    Am I missing anything?
    Also, what's the problem with backing up 2 computers on the same hd within the same partition or on one which hasn't been partitioned?
    Any comments?

    You can use 3rd party software like for example touchcopy (unsupported by Apple) or mail the photos to your address and download the mail on your mac.
    if you mail them make sure you copy and paste them into the mail message to get the full uncompressed image!
