Closing printer dialogue after printing

Under Tiger, after printing, the printer status app that opens after you hit print would quit when printing is done. With Leopard it stays open and I have to manually quit. Is there a setting somewhere for this?

I'm sorry, I've clicked all over the place and I can't find this option. Guide the blind please.

  • How to call adobe's default signing dialogue after my own signature capture dialogue

    Hi,
Working from the DocSign example I have create my own dialogue in which I can enter my signature and successfully draws the signature and signs the document (with my hardcoded sefl-signed certificate). I want to give the user the option to choose his/her own certificate or to generate a self-sign certificate (just like the adobe's default signing dialogue).
Is there a way in which I can call the default adobe's signing dialogue right after I have called my signature dialogue? So that it still draws my signature, but uses the default siging to sign the document?
    Regards,
    Magda

    I'm confused here.
You want Acrobat to do the actual signing BUT you want to provide the appearance for the signature field only – is that correct?

  • Can't click anything in firefox after closing "printer error" dialogue box.

I'm trying to print an important document off the internet in Firefox. I can't try to restart Firefox without losing access to this document but after closing a "printer error" dialogue box I am unable to click anything in Firefox. I can't use "ctrl+p" to print or any of the other keyboard shortcuts. Right-clicking is also not working.
Running task manager doesn't show any tasks other than the one Firefox window and that shows up as "running" so I don't think it's a case of the dialogue box still being open.
I CAN right-click on Firefox on the status bar to open a new window (which works perfectly fine) or to open a new tab in the malfunctioning window (which is frozen as well).

Goto Firefox Menu - File > Exit
    Try in safe mode
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''

  • Closing the program after printing

Hello. I receive faxes via email, and it uses Reader to print them. I just right click and print directly from the email. However, Reader stay open and I have to go close it separately.
Does anyone know of a way to set it to NOT stay open after printing? It's a pain to have to keep re-closing it!
    Thanks.

Bernd, I just downloaded an update again this morning. I currently have Version 8.1.2

  • Bug: Your last browsing session closed unexpectedly message after every boot

It appears HP Smart Web Printing 4.51 has a bug. After installing it on Vista Ultimate 64-bit Internet Explorer 8 (32-bit version), everytime I shutdown then start up the computer and open up Internet Explorer 8, I get the message:  "Your last browsing session closed unexpectedly. Restore your last session or Go to your home page". And this happens after I close down Internet Explorer 8 normally. This never happened before.
I did a test: closed down Internet Explorer 8 normally, uninstalled  HP Smart Web Printing 4.51, and rebooted my computer. The  "Your last browsing session closed unexpectedly" message did not appear anymore. Definitely a bug.

I'm sure that there can be other causes to this with IE, and if you are not running HP software on your XP then it is not related, however it is the cause for us running smart web printing on our particular machines.
I have four: two deesktops, two laptops, running from XP sp3 to win 7 RTM - all running ie8, all started the same issue after install of SWP latest version, note latest version. and all stop after that process is either prevented from running on startup, or the program is removed. Enough proof for me considering the history of this company's SW packages.
If I dont find another solution I plan on disabling the notification thru a registry edit. It's annoying more than helpful to receive it every single time you open for an initial session, plain and simple, and a result of bad coding.

  • Problems Closing Raptor EA4 After Report

After viewing a report, and closing the windows I cannot close raptor. This happens all the time with me.
I am running the EA4 of Raptor on Windows. I connect to my XE beta 3 database.
    Steps to reproduce:
I click on reports, Data dictionary reports, Tables, Constraints, Foreign Key constraints
I pick the HR user to run against.
Keep default filter on popup for binds (null should be checked)
Click run report in SQL worksheet
    Right click and format SQL
Close all open windows by clicking on the x on the tab
Try to close raptor and nothing happens. You have to use the task manager to kill it. The file-exit does not work; neither does ALT-F4.
I don't know if the formatting is a red herring or not. It seems to be whenever you close the tab containing the report SQL that causes the crash. Working within Raptor seems to be unaffected.

yup - known issue - need to close with Task Manager. We will be releasing EA4.1 to fix this.

  • Is it okay to closed the lid after using Macbook Pro even the it is hot?

Hi. I'm using MBP early 2011 I5 and I noticed the temperature getting high and palm rest is getting hot/warm when I'm playing games. Is this normal? temperature around 80 degree celsius accoringding to istat.
Also, after using the MBP, ofcourse the palm rest is hot/warm. Is it okay to close the lid after using it?
    Thanks.

My practice has been to let the MBP cool a few minutes before closing the lid, so it's trapping less heat. I doubt this has much saving effect on the logic board components, but my MBP is old enough to have a glossyplastic display cover. It would look ugly if it started to warp.

  • I accidentally closed the dialogue box when Firefox asked if it was okay for a program to modify my computer. Now I can't open the program.

I have a game (Neverwinter Nights) that periodically updates itself. Yesterday, I got a dialogue box asking if it was okay for the game to modify my computer (happens every now and then). I meant to click "yes", but instead accidentally closed the box (which I believe defaulted to "no"). Now, I can't open the game. How can I fix this?

hello stmanley1970, those dialog boxes are not originating from firefox, but from your operating system windows 7. therefore please contact the support channels of the publisher of this game in order to receive help for this issue...

  • Backend BSP session not closing on server after closing the window

    Hi All,
We have SAP EP (7.0 SP21) and there is a BSP transaction ivew (Interaction Center ) intergrated in the portal. The issue is when the user performs any transactions inside the BSP and then closes the browser, session remains on the server till the timeout. Is there a way to end those sessions on server after closing the browser immediately?
    Portal domain : xx.mycomp.com
    ABAP system domain :mycom.com
Should the domains be same for the DSM of Portal to work or is there any solution that can be considered.
    regards
    Uday

    Hi Uday,
These are the main issues that can cause issues with DSM:
    JavaScript Origin Policy:
    Scripting
between different domains is not allowed because of “JavaScript origin policy”.
    Also
communication between mixed protocols (http\https) is forbidden.
    Therefore
the portal server and the content server must be on the same domain and must
    use the same protocol.
    For
    detailed explanation see:
    http://mozilla.org/projects/security/components/same-origin.html
    Popup Blocker:
    •Popup blockers may cause troubles
    in relation with SRA feature.
    •Terminator handles notifications in
new window when current window is being destroyed (logoff, closing browser
window) – popup blocker prevents the opening of new window, hence no session
    handling performed.
please also check SAP Note #596698 for more information typical problems and troubleshooting.
In general, the 2 domains should be the same.
xxx.mycomp.com, meaning that first part of the url can change but what comes after should be the same domain.
    Best regards,
    Etay

  • Closing the browser after logout

    Version 1.6
We're using Internet Explorer and I need to close the browser after/when the user clicks on the Logout link. How can I accomplish this?
    Thanks,
    Joe

The online help for the onClick Javascript field says
"In the link generated for this icon include the following onClick javascript.  Use of the onclick javascript could popup a help page in a new window (see example 1).
    Example 1:
      window.open('US/asfhhome.htm','Help','scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=625,height=350,left=25,top=150');return false
Set the Icon Target attribute to # if you are using OnClick JavaScript. Set the Image Alt Text attribute to the text the user will see to click on."So, try putting "#" in the Target and window.close() in the onClick Javascript box.

  • Automatic closing of reservation after 3 days

    Hi all,
The user creates reservation daily but against that reservation partial material is issued. Partial material which is not issued, is treated as open reservation, which in turn distrubs MRP run.
We want that system should retain only last 03 days reservation active & rest all should be closed automatically.
I tried but not working, please advice....
    Thanks in advance
    Praveen...

    Hi,
You can maintain Retention period in OMBN
Retention period, in days, for reservation items
Indicates the time in days during which a reservation item resides in
the system before being deleted by the reservation management program.

  • Firefox closed tab group after power outage. Need to recover.

I had months worth of tabs opened and have firefox set to "show windows and tabs from last time." While I had firefox open with all these tabs I lost power to my entire house. When power came back I turned on my computer and open firefox to find out all my tabs were gone and I was on my home screen. This is the second time it has happened to me and its very fustrating. I never use to have this problem with older firefox version but now I do.

You can delete the sessionstore-1.js and sessionstore-2.js as those are quite old and probably no longer needed.
You should make a backup copy of the sessionstore.bak file as that file is large enough to have some of the lost data.<br />
You can also backup the sessionstore.js file.<br />
The sessionstore.bak file with the file date appended was created automatically following the most recent Firefox update.
The point is to rename a sessionstore like sessionstore.bak to sessionstore.js to make Firefox use this file to see if that restores lost tabs. Remember that you may have to check for History > Recently Closed Tabs/Windows
