  • CMDTUX_CAT:1380: ERROR: Message queue blocking prevented delivery

    Today, I changed a Tuxedo application (server) to the product systems(One master and two slaves). Only a small changes in code. But after a period of running, there are many errors in ULOG:
    CMDTUX_CAT:1380: ERROR: Message queue blocking prevented delivery, Qaddr = 583902
    And then, the server is died. After restart the server, this will happen again later.
    I don't know why this happens? Thx.

    Hi Bill,
    This is happening because the BRIDGE process received a message from the network and was unable to place the message on the intended IPC queue. This could be because the server handling that message is backed up, or the system IPC resource settings are too low. Please check the recommended actions in:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E18050_01/tuxedo/docs11gr1/messages/cdtux/cdtux013.html

  • CMDTUX_CAT:754: ERROR: error processing configuration file

    Hi Tuxedo Experts,
    I have compiled and linked sample code tuxedo client and server (simpapp). According to README, the next steps is running tmboot -y command. Does it start the simpserv tuxedo server? If not, how do I start that?
    Plus, when I ran this 'tmboot -y' command, I got the error:
    ===========================================
    $ tmboot -y
    tmboot: internal error: CMDTUX_CAT:754: ERROR: error processing configuration file
    tmboot: internal error: CMDTUX_CAT:1360: ERROR: configuration file not found
    ===========================================
    Would you please help me to resolve that.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ahsan Asghar

    Hi Ahsan,
    You skipped some steps. One of the first steps is to set the environment variables given in the README. This is normally done by creating a script you can execute in the future, often called setenv.sh. After creating this script and executing like:
    . ./setenv.sh
    then you need to edit the sample UBBCONFIG file which for simpapp is called ubbsimple. This file contains the Tuxedo configuration information. You will need to replace the things in <> with ones appropriate for your system. The machine name should be the same as the output of the uname -n command.
    Once you've edited the file, it needs to be compiled with the tmloadcf command. Then you should be able to boot and run your application.

    Then there are two things. First is:
    Using remote Desktop connection:  If so then don't use remote Desktop connection without console switch, if you are using it then run "mstsc /console" (console mode)
    Another way to start app server on physical machine, or use VNC like software.
    And the second thing is:
    You should increase some of your Tuxedo IPC Settings, do this:
    Go to Control Panel - BEA Tuxedo8.1 Administration - IPC Resources tab
    Uncheck Use Default IPC Settings
    Click next to where it says IPC Resources it is a little box. When cursor is over the box it will show, New (Insert)
    Type in the word Custom and hit enter
    Now everything on the right turned from greyed out to white
    Change Maximum Number of Message Queues to 1024
    Maximum Number of Processes Using IPC 512
    Maximum Number of Semaphores to 2048
    Maximum Number of Semaphore Sets 2048
    Maximum Number of Semaphore Undo Structures 2048
    Hit Apply
    NOTE: The Tuxedo IPC Helper Service will then need to be restarted. Make sure you shut down all domains and schedulers that are maintained by Tuxedo before doing this.
    Thanks,

    Hi Todd/Tuxedo Experts,
    I have finally been able to install XLC successfully after a lot of effort :)
    I am compiling the simpcl.c from "<Tuxedo Home directory>/samples/atmi/simpapp" path, using " /usr/vacpp/bin/xlC -I /home/sibusr/tuxedo11gR1/include /home/sibusr/tuxedo11gR1/lib/tpinit.o simpcl.c" command, but I am getting the following error:

    Hi Aivars,
    You can't run servers built on previous versions of Tuxedo on later major versions of Tuxedo.  So trying to run a 10gR3 server on 11gR1 will not work.

  • CMDTUX_CAT:866 error when running tmloadcf ubbsimple

    I am a DBMS support person trying to help a customer who need to link to our products from Tuxedo running on Windows 64 bit. I downloaded "tuxedo111120_64_win_2k8_x86_VS2008.exe" and installed. I have no licensing. I expected to get a trial download or perhaps be told how to do this but there was nothing.
    In any case I try to first get simpapp working so I then have something working to modify the linking, add a RM etc.
    The host I run from has a dashes in it, tsvm-2008-64. I excaped the "dashes" in the hostname in the ubbsimple.
    I get this error running "tmloadcf ubbsimple".
    CMDTUX_CAT:866: ERROR: tmloadcf: Severe error found. Stop syntax checking.
    The error says "something is wrong" but not a lot more useful. I played with the hostname but this does appear to be the problem from my experimentation.

    Hi,
    You do not need to escape the dashes in the host name. Instead you need to place the host name inside quotation marks. Thus your UBBCONFIG file should look like:

    #IPCKEY 123456

    DESCRIPTION
    While executing tmloadcf , an error occurred in the input UBBCONFIG file such that the TUXCONFIG file cannot be loaded. These errors include missing sections, multiple occurrences of sections, dynamic space allocation errors, etc, such that parsing of the input UBBCONFIG file was terminated before reading the entire file.
    I don't see anything wrong with the output you posted.  But sounds like something is causing the parsing of the ubb file to terminate prematurely, syntax or otherwise.  Is there any additional detail in the ULOG or TUXLOG if it created them?

    Your error is of configuration and is not the PCKEY, you should define the solicited
    addresses very well.
    John Verifies these addresses:
    APPDIR="d:\ashish\simpapp"
    TUXCONFIG="d:\ashish\simpapp\tuxconfig"
    TUXDIR="d:\bea\tuxedo8.0"
    and the name of your Machine:
    asap2000.ASAPDOMAIN LMID=simple
    John defines only the name of your machine, and you should not indicate the domain.
    I wait for that they serve you these suggestions.

    PeopleTools 8.19.04 requires an upgrade of tuxedo 6.5 patchlev ?? AND
    Jolt, patchlev ?? . There are also some HP patches if you're moving
    from tools 8.16 or below. We have successfully booted our BBLs on HP
    with tools 8.19.04. Exact patch levels are in the release notes. If
    problem continues, you might try PeopleSoft's Customer Connection.

    1) You will get better Tuxedo help in tuxedo.general.
    2) Okay, Tuxedo 6.5 on HP-UX 11; show the output from
    tail $TUXDIR/udataobj/patchlev
    3) Fix the NLS problems with: export NLSPATH=$TUXDIR/locale/C
    { it might be NLS_PATH; I often forget which }
    4) It seems you are using PeopleSoft. The problem might lie in the PeopleSoft to Tuxedo
    interface, whatever it is. I don't know where to direct you for that.

  • CMDTUX_CAT:4382: ERROR: You do not have a valid SDK license.

    Today, I installed the Tuxedo 10.0 64-bit file on a Solaris 9 box, and got error "You do not have a valid SDK license" when used buildserver after setup. The license key file which was downloaded from this site (http://commerce.bea.com/showproduct.jsp?family=TUX&major=10&minor=0) contains the line "TYPE=RTK", and that doesn't seem to be a right type for a developer license.
    Curently, is there any other web site that will provide a developer license file for Tuxedo 10 ?
    Advice is appreciated.

    I went to the edelivery site and downloaded the SDK license, the Tuxedo 10 installation is running ok now.
    Wayne, thank you for the advice.
