CMS Tracks Imports

Hello everyone,
We're building the tracks on CMS to be able to perform our customer repairs to ESS/MSS services.
We have SAP JEE 6.40 SP 18, SAP ESS 100 SP 14, SAP MSS 100 SP14
with backend ECC5.
We have one track that we are importing the SCA's but it takes forever to import each component and we're getting alot of Broken DCs and Dirty DCs.
Actually we are importing sap.com_SAP_BUILDT and it's running for 24 hours now and still not done ...
I would like to know if there might be any problem here or of this is really the case when importing ...
Should the SDA's be imported in a specific order?!?!
Thank you all
Mario Semedo

Daniel,
Intel Xeon CPU Dual 2.80GHZ, 2.00 GB RAM
I have a process running sqlservr.exe (25 CPU load)
     Mem Usage     517.264 K
     Page faults      437.806
     VM size                      614.816 K
On the track i have:
Queued Req. 18; Processing Req. 3; Broken DCs 1; Dirty DCs 21
And it keeps going ...
Thanks for your interest

  • CMS Track configuration does not save after removal of runtime

    Hello,
We are having problem to save CMS track configuration after removing a runtime which was taken away from us and is not recoverable. The CMS track config was not updated prior to this and we can no longer make track adjustments due to the old DEV runtime sys not being available. Does anyone have similar issue and know how to fix it?
    Thanks!

For this SP5 track, we have not imported SP9 required SCs (SAPJEE, SAPJTECHS, SAPBUILDT, EP_BUILDT). but we did imported them (SP8 version) with patches. We imported most current SP9 patches to the new SP6 track. We want to move our development on the SP5 track to assemble it, then imported to the new SP6 track based SAP XSS cookbook.
We are not able to assemble released activities with broken DCs on the SP5 track. I look a DC for ess/au/fam/cfg, Build.log still shows xlf conversion error:
    Ant runtime 4.295 seconds
    Ant build finished with ERRORS
The following error occurred while executing this line:
    /usr/sap/DID/CBS/61/.B/90062/DCs/sap.com/ess/au/fam/cfg/_comp/gen/default/logs/build.xml:80: Error converting file Texts_tr.xlf

Not sure if you can force it assembled even with this broken DCs as we have not touched this xlf.
Please let me know if you find something similar to us from other customers.

  • NWDI: CMS Track Authority

Hello, we have an NWDI SP15 (nw04s) and we want that developers are able to transport. We activated CMS Track Authority for your tracks and have added our developers. But still developers aren't able to import transports. The import button is grey. Our developers have the authorization NWDI.Developers. If I give them NWDI.Administrator. They are able to import transports. What have I missed during the CMS Track Authority?

Hello, having a problem with Logic 9 on a Mac Pro.Working on a lenghty song and apparently session got corrupted.Doesnt let me export tracks, program crashes.Already tried start brand new session with the tracks imported into it but still wont export.Suggestions?

Thanks, Ian. Yeah, that's how I do it now...or with the controls in the left side pane. Still, I would have liked that quick on-the-spot edit capability...especially while sketching.
    Ian Turner wrote:
Sorry Mark, you are out of luck as it does not do that - it works the same as L8. The way I would achieve that with more accuracy and control would be to route all the tracks you want to fade to a Bus then use volume automation on the bus. To do this you will need to add a standard audio track, then re-assign it using (Control Click on the track header) to the Bus track. You can then automate volume/plugins etc on the Bus track.

  • Flex pitch (Time) needs midi track import function

Flex pitch (Time) needs midi track import function

HI it's me again ( under my studio name).. I don't use Garage Band. I use Logic x. so don't know why you'd suggest doing away with another program when I have no use for Garage Band.
I think it ended up working only because it was a glitch.... when I exited the program and came back to it, it started working. The only thing that didn't appear was the pitch correction on the left hand side of the sound editor.. the slider button where you can go up to 100%...
but at least it worked. This Apple operating system always has bugs .. but gllitching on my projects doesn't make me a happy camper.
They don't even offer support for it. unless you pay through the roof.
Anyway.. it showed up... not sure how it did, but rebooted my computer and miraculously it was there.

  • CMS Tracks - best practice?

    Hi,
we are developing our product with CVS right now and want to move over to DTR. The basic concepts are clear and I did a test migration yet which is successful.
But I am unclear on the chamge management piece:
    Let's say we develop a version 1.0
Now this version has service packs 1.0 SP1, SP2, SP3 and so on. These service packs also have to be maintained, they might contain bugs, so you could have something like
    1.0 SP1 Patch 1, 1.0 SP1 Patch 2 and so on.
How do I handle this with CMS tracks? Whats the best practice? Do I setup a track for every major version and for every support package in that version? I.E. i will have a track 10SP0, 10SP1, 10SP2, 10SP3 and so on? Will this work?
Right now we have a lot of CVS tags and branches to make this work... but how do you do that in DTR? I need to be able to jump back to a specific version and SP and fix bugs in there if a customer needs it.
In CVS the concept is that I will develop in HEAD and bugfix in branches (which is all in the same repository / "workspace"). But in DTR how do I do it? Is there something analog to this? Or do I always just use the track with the highest versio number as the "HEAD"?
    Any input is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Bruno

    Hello Bruno,
For each state of your product that you wish to maintain, you must create a track. So in your case, you will have a track structure as follows:
    Track1.0
    Track1.0_SP1
    Track1.0_SP2
DTR does not support tags (yet), so the state that you wish to retain for possible future fixes must be isolated in a workspace of a given track. That is, "Track1.0_SP1" will contain the workspaces that represent the SP1 state, and a fix for SP1 must be done in this track.
And you must develop on the Main Release track ("Track1.0") and do the bugfixes in the track for the approrpriate SP. You should set up a transport connection of type "Repair" from each SP track to the Main Release track, so the fixes you make in the SP track are automatically back-transported to the Main Release track. (This connection can be setup in the "Track Connections" tab in the CMS Landscape Configurator.)
Also note that the DTR version graph represents a global version history, so for any file you will be able to view the changes made in the different tracks (workspaces) from the Version Graph view (in the DTR Perspective of the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio).

    Manohar

  • JDI-CMS track with single system

We installed the JDI sp13 on our J2EE Engine 640 development system. We are goingto configure it (all the components DTR, CBS, CMS) in order to start a project developmentò.
We will export the developments using .sca files, and we will move them on a separate system for test purpose.
That second system is out of our network.
How should be configured the CMS track on our Development system, having only one runtime system ?
We need it just to export the .sca files.
This information is missing on the JDI documentation. The scenarios indicated into the HelpOnline suppose always to have more that one runtime system, as far we know.
In the ABAp world in this case is enought to create a virtual system into the STMS transacion in order to allow to the system to export th developments.
How do that in the JDI -Java world ?

  • Alter CMS track data fails

    Hi,
We use CMS for transporting repository and dictonary objects. The CMS track was initially set-up with a development system and one QA system. Transporting between these two systems works fine.
Now we have had the production system installed and obviosely I want to add this system to the track (XI URL Production). When I type in the URL and  save I get no error message but the URL is not saved. If I try to navigate to another track or CMS screen I get prompted to save, but the URL is not saved....
Anybody encountered the same problem? How do I get the production URL into the CMS system.
We run NW2004s currently on SP10
    Kind regards Johan

The CMS Admin user was not set-up in our Xi production system. Could have been nice with an error message in CMS though...

  • Track Import... bug?

Love the fact that Logic 9 added the track import functionality... especially when mixing a project where the drums were all recorded at the same time/place. Importing channel strips with the same plug-ins, volume, and routing from a previous mix is a HUGE time savor.
However, it's the routing that appears to be buggy.
I generally always route my drums to bus 1, so on the songs where I'm importing the drums channel strips, this is where they are output to.
However, when I use the track import function, I do get my plug-ins and static volumes, but these tracks are now all being sent to bus 27. Yes, consistently, and constantly... bus 27. Not bus 1.
An easy fix, of course, but was curious if someone could test this, or hear from others who have experienced similar anomalies

... so I did this function again yesterday, and this time, all the imported channel strips were set to output Bus 33.
Again, the song they were imported from, the tracks were sent to bus 1, but once imported, the output assignments change.
This appears to be another one of those features that Logic has added, but hasn't worked it out completely.... just trying to see if anyone else experiences this

  • Selective Track Import: "Replace" mode deosn't work here with AUXes tracks

I wonder why, using Selective Track Import, if I select an instrument track in arrange, and I select the instrument of the source song I want to import from, I get the chance to use "Replace" mode. On the contrary, with AUXes this option doesn't work: "Replace" mode is always disabled..... only "Add" mode.... (even putting aux track in arrange and selecting it...)

Hey RevDave, it's David, not sure if you remember me?
We went to your studio once with Curt Bisquera....
Of course I do - Glad to hear from you again!
    Anyway:
The MIDI preferences do work correctly, however they
should have no impact on the Audio behavior. The fact
that 'Merge new recordings...' messes with the
    replace mode is a bug.
Another funny fact: the recording settings are
    divided into two categories:
General and MIDI. That's misleading: they all only
deal with MIDI recording behavior. Audio recording
doesn't have such settings as 'Auto create tracks' or
'Auto mute tracks' since it always behaves like that
    anyway.
Thanks for explaining that - and glad to hear that it's a bug.

  • 88 Software Dependencies Imported Into CMS Track

We are experiencing problems when associating SCs to a Track in the CMS.  When any of the SCs are selected, it shows a total of 88 dependencies when only 3 are defined in the SLD (SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT & SAP_JTECHS).
The "Update CMS" action to pull in the SLD changes does not fix it and communication between the SLD & CMS appears to be fine.  As well, this was working but just recently began acting this way.
Has anyone experienced this, know what would cause the inconsistencies, and/or know how to fix it?
We are unable to create new Tracks due to this, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Lane

We've been working with someone at SAP America to track down the problems and find a solution.  From our research it appears this is related to either an incorrect CIM import or manual assignment of usage dependencies for the 3 primary software components mentioned earlier.
We are in process of either re-importing the CIM for the current patch level of the SLD and/or manually removing the dependencies from the SCs.  I will update after this is complete and we have the results.
Pascal, thanks for posting interest in this message.

  • CMS SCA imports fail & CBS error while activating

    Hello!!!
I am trying to setup the JDI process for scenario 2+ or 3. The JDI is running on the DEV system and SLD is altogether on a different system(Here the installation and configuration of JDI & SLD was carried out by an admin). So I started implementing (assuming that JDI & SLD was configured well) the Scenario 3 tutorial provided in the help.sap.com.
I have the following issues in doing so
    1. When I try to import depenedent SCA's in transport studio, the SCA's fail to import. This done once a track has been created in the CMS and after checking in the dependent SC archives.
    2. I get this "CBS SERVER ERROR : CBS failed to communicate with some other server (internal code : Communication Error)" when I try to check in the DTR activity. The checked in activity contains a SC with out any dependencies on other SC's.
I shall apprecaite your response very much.
    Thanks in advance
    Yasu

Maybe SAP is revising the note...?! Anyway here's an older copy of what the note says:
    Symptom
Server communication problems after the reconfiguration of the NWDI admin user/password.
    Reason and Prerequisites
The new user/password configuration is not updated in all NWDI landscape servers. The automatic update is not implemented.
    The use case / Precondition:
In the NWDI CMS Landscape Domain Data UI the admin user and password are defined. In addition at least one NWDI track is already configured.
The NWDI administrator has to change the NWDI admin user/password.
    Solution
In order to update the new user/password configuration for all NWDI Servers manual steps are required.
    The use case / Precondition:
In the NWDI CMS Landscape Domain Data UI the admin user and password are defined. In addition at least one NWDI track is already configured.
The NWDI administrator has to change the NWDI admin user/password.
    The required steps:
Change the NWDI admin user/password configuration in UME.
Change the NWDI admin user/password configuration in the NWDI CMS Landscape Domain Data UI.
Update User/Password Configuration in the configured CBS Buildspaces
in Visual Admin settings, Server -> Services -> Component Build Service -> set idle start of Component Build Service to true and restart CBS.
for each track, in CMS UI -> Landscape Configurator -> Track Data , make a change in the XML Content of one software component of track, add the line "<!-- user/password update  -->" in the XML Content.
save each track with the above change.
in Visual Admin settings, Server -> Services -> Component Build Service -> set idle start of Component Build Service to false and restart CBS.
in CMS UI -> Transport Studio, restore system state of all tracks.
Update User/Password Configuration of name server in the configured DTR Servers
Check the name server configuration of your DTR server as described in the following SAP Help documentation (see section "Configuration of the Name Service"):                          http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/b9/b4de3f68d48f15e10000000a155106/content.htm
If the user/password in the name server configuration is not updated with the new NWDI admin user/password configuration you have to set the new user/password manually.

  • CMS track  problem (NWDI)

    Hello!
    Please help
I need to modify Web User Interface (component SAP-CRMWEB)
I make track with "Modify a Software Component" wizard (NWDI), than I add this track to NWDS.
    And here are the questions:
    1. I do not have "Development Configuration Perspective" in NWDS, but I have "Development Infrastructure Perspective" instead. Is it ok? Guide tells to do a few steps, including u201CInactive DCu2019su201D Panel, and I do not have one!
    2. No components in the imported track in NWDS. Nothing to modify!
    3. In CMS new track is marked as waiting for assembly and component SAP-CRMWEB as "developed". Why?

  • CMS Tracks & Checkin process - URGENT

    Hi,
I want to know a few thing regarding Tracks & Checkin process for SAP ESS Components.
I have installed the JDI on one server and my Developement Portal+Web Dynpro Server is diff on which the SAP ESS Components are already running as iVews in portal.
    1) I created a Track for ESS as ESSTrack and added the SC of SAP_ESS. No my question is that while defining the Runtime Systems, which runtime system should i select. Should i select the JDI system as my developement system or the real developement system on which we deploy the Web Dynpros and run them in portal as the developement system?
    2) What does really happen during the check-in process after defining system?
Hope to get a quick reply..
    Regards
    Gaurav Gandhi

    Hi Venkat,
    Abt point no.2,
Which JDI SCAs do i need to checkin. Bcos as per the cookbook of ESS, the ESS SC will itself add the required SCs.
Maybe what you are telling is that if i have a custom sca & PRODUCT then i need to add these a required one's.
Now what i want to know is that: In the Transport Studio -> Check-in Tab, when i select the SCA's from the inbox of CMS then the SCA comes in the queue and are displayed in the Developement Tab. Now here if i import the SCA's into the developement System, does the SCA's gets deployed into the Developement Server or what actually happens?
Why am askng this is because in my developement env, the ESS Components were already running. So after import, are the ESS Components got overwritten.
My developement Server SDM log is showing mesages "Deploying ESSTrack ...."
and now the developement server SDM has gone down after that and is not comming up.
Its giving error "SDM Port 52018 already in use"

  • CMS tracks

    Hi Friends,
We are implementing CMS in our landscape to transport XI objects between the systems. Our landscapes are XI1->XI2 (this is one landscape) and the other one is XID->XIQ->XIP. We want to transport the objects from XI1 to XI2 and then from XI2 to XID and viceversa. I configured the CMS and created a track for one of my components for the both landscapes. While creating the track I gave the DEV and QUA URL for the first landscape but I'm stuck with the creation of track for the second landscape for the same component.
Can anybody please help me define the track for one of my components for the second landscape mentioned in the above scenario in a way that once the objects are imported into XI2, I should be able to import them into XID? Or is there any way to directly import objects into XID once the objects are moved to XI2?
Any kind of response is greatly appreciated.....
    Thanks
