Co Product requirement

Hi Guru,
I have maintained BOM for X material (100 EA), where Y material is as co-product (60EA). All co-products requirement smaintained well both in material master and Bills of material. Now I have generated a requirement of 500 EA of X. On MRP run, 300 EA of Y material is coming as dependent receipt. Now when the requirement for Y material is less than 300 EA, there is no issue. But when the requirement for Y material is 360 EA. Then one planned order for Y material is generated of 60 EA. Since I have not maintained BOM for the material of Y, so I could not able to execute the planned order to process order. I need here that system should create planned order of X 100 EA in this case taking into the maximum use of co-product. How it is possible?
Thanks
Krishna

Dear Krishna,
I need here that system should create planned order of X 100 EA in this case taking into the maximum use of co-product. How it is possible?
If the requirement is for Y, Then system will create a plan order for Y only.
Better you can add the requirement to X in PIR itself, so that the system will create a plan order for X.
or
Maintain a BOM  for Y ( 60 EA), where X has 100 EA ( maintain a coproduct tick in BOM) & master recipe for Y

  • Uploading Production Requirements For Finished Goods From External System To Run MRP For Components in SAP.

    Hello Production Planning experts,
I'm looking to solve the current business problem:
The company bought a third party software (JD Edwards) to calculate production requirements instead of using SAP's standard Production Planning or a tool like SAP's APO. They run a batch job to query Sales Orders, Deliveries, available stock, stock in transit, etc. from sap and feed/upload it to the third party software so it can calculate the Finished Goods Production Requirements for them. They love the third party software, so replacing it is not an option. Since the third party software is already taking into account Sales Orders, Deliveries, available stock, stock in transit, etc. from SAP, it just outputs a "Finished Goods Production Schedule" by week.
    My questions are:
    1) What's the best way to upload something like that in SAP in the form of Planned Orders or something of that nature?
After i get that schedule in SAP:
    2) Is there any way to calculate components' requirements for that "Finished Goods Production Schedule" alone? The company would like to IGNORE existing stock AND expected-goods-issues in the future (sales orders, deliveries, etc) for Finished Goods ONLY. The components calculations would work the standard MRP way, taking into account existing stock and AND expected-goods-issues in the future (sales orders, deliveries, etc)
I started looking into Master Production Schedule (MPS), but I don't know if that's the right approach since I'm not very familiar with it.
Thanks in Advance! I will gladly reward points for helpful/correct answers.

    Hello Oscar
I suggest you to upload your production plan in the for of "Planned Independent Requirements" using BAPI BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CREATE. Later, MRP will create planned orders to cover the PIRs.
If you don't want to consider the existing stock of the finished product, you should use the planning strategy 11 to create your PIRs. Take a look on the following link for more details about this planning strategy:
Gross Requirements Planning (11) - Demand Management (PP-MP-DEM) - SAP Library
Here you will find the following information:
The make-to-stock strategy gross requirements planning is particularly useful in mass production environments; it is often combined with repetitive manufacturing. This strategy is particularly useful if you need to produce, regardless of whether you have stock or not. For instance, steel or cement producers might want to use this strategy because they cannot shut down production; a blast furnace or a cement factory must continue to produce, even if this means having to produce to stock.
This strategy is also frequently used if there is a Material Requirements Planning system in a legacy system that needs to be linked to an SAP system which serves as a production execution system. The legacy system calculates a specific production plan, which has to be executed, regardless of the stock situation in the SAP system
It looks like this planning strategy is exactly what you are looking for.

  • Development and Production Requirements for a Forms/Report application

    Dear all,
We have an application witch run in client/Server mode using Forms/Reports 6i For 300 users. We want to migrate it on Forms/Reports 9I using Oracle 9IAS and Oracle 9IDB.
I would like to have advises about material requirements of both development and production environment((developer deskop, development appServer and databaseServer, end user desktop, production databaseServer and production AppServer).
Thank u for giving more details about my request.

I have my dev and production on 2 different databases/instances, and the workspaces have a different name aswell (think 'dev' and 'prod').
I do reuse my application ids, which makes the whole process a lot more manageable: easier for me to identify and replacing a whole application.
However, when i want to replace only 1 page, apex stumbles over the workspace. Bummer.
So i took an export of a page on both workspaces, and opened the files.
    prompt  Set Credentials...
    begin
-- Assumes you are running the script connected to SQL*Plus as the Oracle user APEX_040100 or as the owner (parsing schema) of the application.
      wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id=>nvl(wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id,1377027056414870));
    end;
    wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id,1377027056414870));
I took both workspace IDs and keep them in a simple txt in my installation-files folder. Each time i need to import a page from dev->prod i go in the exported file from dev and change the workspace id to the id of my production workspace id. Everything works magically after that.
If your application ids also differ, you can try changing the id in the exported file aswell, but i can't tell if it works or not since i've not done that yet.
    prompt  Set Application ID...
    begin
       -- SET APPLICATION ID
       wwv_flow.g_flow_id := nvl(wwv_flow_application_install.get_application_id,130);
       wwv_flow_api.g_id_offset := nvl(wwv_flow_application_install.get_offset,0);
    null;
    end;where of course you'd change around nvl(wwv_flow_application_install.get_application_id,130);

  • CC products require daily sign in and license agreement.

For the past week both Ps and Dw CC are requireing daily sign in and license agreement. I thought these products could be used without a full time connection to the internet. What have I missed that makes daily sign in and licensing a requirement?

I turned off the internet access on my laptop and since the programs could not verify I receive the following message.
So I'm assuming everything is ok and Adobe has just moved to a verify everyday platform. I've purchase a new Dell top of the line XPS system ($1,100) that I will run nothing but Windows and Adobe on. I'm still having issues with CC product line crashed all the time without an error message and Adobe thinks it my current PC and Laptop as they are only i5CPU with 6GB mem. So we'll see. Thing is I didn't have these problems until I upgraded to the CC product line.

  • Which SAP products require Netweaver and which do not

Hello,  does anyone have slides or a link that shows which SAP products run on Netweaver?  For example, some Sybase solutions do not run on NW but I'm not sure which may and which may not.  Things like Aleri and probably some other components don't require NW.   How about Business Objects, does that require NW or run on NW.   A nice diagram showing what were would be great.
SAP Event Insight is shown as one server but I know Sybase CEP (Aleri) is part of it, so, I believe that one server can be solely NW.

  • Can Quicken 2010 be used with Tiger 10.4.11? Product requirements ask for 10.5 and above, thanks

Hi experts, forgive the naive question, but I am trying to understand if I should buy Quicken_essential 2010 (which my bank supports) even if I have an OS 10.4.11 and the Quicken requirements are for 10.5.
Would Quicken 2010 still work?  Or should I try to buy (where?) Quicken 2007 and hoping it will interface with my bank?
Please do not tell me to update my 10.4. to 10.5, I would have no idea how to do.
    thank you, Marina

Hi Marina, no real experience with Quikcen, but I highly suspect Quicken_essential 2010 will in no way work in 10.4.x at al, whether the Bank likes Quicken_essential 2010 is tough to tell... neither Banks nor Quiken have the slihjtest touch with reality as far as I'm concerned!

  • CS6 Products requiring serial key suddenly after being used fine since luanch? Wont accept my key (pasted from my adobe account). Reverted to trial. Please help!

I've had the CS6 Master collection since it was released and havent had any problems with it until today. It is asking me for my serial key (for the first time since its been installed) and says the one I am providing is invalid. What is happening here? I'm giving it the key that is saved in my adobeID and is registered etc. I almost wasnt able to complete some work except that it reverted to a 30 day trial, which isnt much better because I will just need to confront this problem again in 30 days. Does anyone know why it wont accept my key? I have it on a second computer and it is doing the same thing. Both worked fine yesterday. I really wanted to talk to someone, but adobe makes that near impossible.

  • Shipment Consolidation: What is meaning of "Product Requires Approval"

    Hello,
When running Shipmnet Consoidation with Billing Document Type at R3, the system will display deliveries some of which with a "red" light on the column heading "Appr. Req.". I can not find any documentation for this field.
Can you please shed some light on this?
    Thanks,
    Wen

    Hi Wen,
In past, when I have seen this message, I found that the delivery document was blocked for compliance reasons in GTS compliance.  I must say that this was not "always" the case, so please check and let us know if that is not the problem.  Meanwhile, I will search through my old testing notes on my laptop.

  • Material cost charge to Production Order from Cost Center / Work Center.

In Production Order Environment, is it possible that goods are issued from Storage location to Cost Center / Work Center, and in turn charged to Production Orders.
    Scenario. Transformer Manufacturing.
Production Order size : 100 Units
Steel (Kgs) per Transformer : 3 Kgs
Total Steel required for Production Order: 300 Kgs (100x3)
In the process of manufacturing of a Transformer Steel or Core winding is the first process step.
Even though the Steel required for above said Production Order is 300 Kgs, the minimum issuable lot size from stores is 2000 Kgs.
Is it possible in SAP ECC 6.0 that the Steel of 2000 Kgs is issued to a Cost Center / Work Center, and later charged to production order based on actual Consumption in the said Cost Center / Work Center.
Regards, Replies and Sugestions shall be appreciated
    Madhu

    Thank you for the reply,
However, the scenario that i had in mind was a bit different from what you had conceptualized.
Scenario - These transformers are basically for loading on to Inverters & UPS, The max weight of the transformer range from 15-30 Kgs. and they dont have an external casing of steel as seen on Indian Electricity Board transformers. Multiple production orders are processed at a single time in the Plant as per Customer specifications.
The general process followed for manufacture is as follows:
    1. Core Winding u2013 This process takes place in the core winding department. Steel reels are loaded on to Winders and individual cores of approx 5 u2013 30 Cm Diameter are produced. (Multiple reels of Steel are stacked one on top of the other onto a pallet.) Usually issue of steel from stores happens pallet wise. The pallets of steel generally weigh in excess of 2 tons.
In the present situation (Non SAP Environment) the entire pallet of Steel is issued to the Core winding department and later the Output is charged to multiple Production Orders, based on the records of the Core winding dept. Since in general the steel content in the FG ranges from 3- 25 Kgs multiple Production Orders can be catered to from one Pallet of Steel.
    2. Core Laithing. The wound cores are laithed so as to make the sides smooth.
    3. Core Annealing u2013 Heat treatment process.
    4. Core Insulation. u2013 Insulation of the annealed cores with insulating material.
    5. Primary Winding. u2013 Copper is wound as per the BOM Specification. The issue like that of Steel also arises in the Copper winding process. Here also the Cooper comes in Spools which far exceed the requirement for any Production Order. The minimum issueable lot for Copper from Stores is one Spool. The current practice followed is that the Cooper is taken in the name of the Copper winding department and later charged to individual Production Orders.
    6. Primary Soldering.
    7. Mid Insulation.
    8. Secondary Winding
    9. Secondary Soldering
    10. Shielding
    11. Final Insulation u2013 Same issue with insulation too, since the insulating material comes in rolls.
    12. Testing.
    13. Potting & Drilling - Process of pouring a chemical compound in the center of the transformer, which helps the transformer to later be loaded on an Inverter. The same issue with like of Steel, Copper & Insulation arises here too, since the chemical compound comes in big containers capable of meeting production requirement for a week.
    14. Packing
    15. Transfer to FG Inventory.
One of the suggestions was to issue the entire 2000 Kgs to the Production Order and then return 1700 kgs after completion of the Production Order based on actual usage. However, in my opinion this option might not be practicable because, assuming that I get another / multiple Production orders in between the issue of 2000 Kgs and return of 1700 Kgs, issue to the new Production order will not be possible if the stock in stores was only 2000 Kgs initially. In case assuming that the material is available in stores for the next production order, the situation could worsen in case of receipt of multiple production orders.
Hope, I have explained the scenario & issue being faced.

  • Delivery the product from other plant directly

    hi
we have 2 companies A, B. Company A receive order and give Company B to production, then Company B directly ship to customer. We are using deliviery plant for this scenario. However, sometimes the production will via Company A, then Company A delivery the product to customer. In this case, using delivery plant is not a good way. As the product require to stay in Company A for few days. any suggestion in this case? thanks

Looks like its a stright forward Inter company transactions.
in the first case it is a intercompany sale where company A receives the order and you change the Delivering plant to company B's Plant so that the delivery is triggered from company B.
in the second case, you trigger a  Inter company Plant to Plant  stock transfer requistion from Company A to company B , and there by the stock comes to A and from comp A you can ship to to the customer.

  • Recognizing external production costs for production order

    Hi Experts,
Our company is new to SAP and one issue we have not resolved is whether it is possible to attach costs to an Inspection Plan, and ultimately have these costs flow with the production order to Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
The objective is to enable us to analyze which specific customers/products require us to incur these additional costs.  Any advice you have to accomplice our objective would be appreciated.
We are a Process Industry, and many materials are sent out for external testing. These costs are significant and some customers and/or products require more testing. We currently have Inspection Plans set up for each Material that requires testing, but have not found a way to burden the material with the appropriate COGS for the external testing.
For example, if a product must be tested for the following characteristics, and each test cost is known, how do we get the test costs attached to the production order for the total of $200?
    Product 1 Inspection Plan
    Salmonella $70
    EColi $59
    Coliform $25
    Yeast/Mold $46
    Thank you!

    Richard,
Are you able to advise which forum is the proper one for this question?
    Thank you,
    Esther

  • Setting Quality Assurance System Client role to Production

    Good evening all.
I have had my customer ask if it would be possible to set the client role for our QA system to "Production".  The reason for this is that a number of transactions that they perform within production require that the QA system be opened when they wish to try them first in QA.
    Examples of the transactions are:  KSC1, KSC2, KSU1, KSU2, OB52, OB08.
I know that changing the setting is possible, but what are the issues with doing this to the QA system?  Is this something that shouldn't be done except when necessary, and if so why?
    Thanks for your help!
    Joe Johnson

Thanks for the answer, but I understand the process.  I am looking to see what the implications for setting a QA environment to a production role would be, and what are the negatives of doing so.
The processes mentioned don't require that the production environment be opened, and the users would like to see the same for QA....
    Thanks!

  • Sales order stock to normal stock, Billing in each stage of production

    Dear experts,
    Business process:
In our client will process the goods in 3 stages. Finished good of on process is raw material of another process and sales order based production is going on in my client. Each stage of production required to bill to the customer. But we cannot deliver the goods to the customer and used internally in another stage of process.
    Problem:
    1.     At the time of good receipt in MB31 the finished good going to the sales order stock(Because of sales order production).  How to convert the sales order stock in to normal stock or How to stop it?
    2.     Process 1 stage SFG (7903-valution class) is issued to the 2 stage raw material. At that time all GBB-VBR setting had did it for consumption. In cost sheets and product costing I mentioned in those account. But error is visible in CO02 (production release) goto-cost-itemization. How to solve this problem?
    3.     How to generate the bill in each stage to the customer?
    4.     In last stage how to give the delivery?
Thanks in advance for helping me.

    Hi
If I understand you, you want to create SD invoices to your customer en each step. You can control each step by MM movements. So, you can populate customer tables (z-tables), for instance, with badi MB_DOCUMENT_BADI for instance and after, in the steps where the materials go on being raw materials (without delivery) you can try to create credit notes with a BAPI using the information in this z-tables and after invoice them. When you are in the last step, use the standard procedure (SO, delivery and invoice).
    I hope this helps you

  • Co products and by products

    Hi,
I have a scenario where in during a production of main Finished Material, two co products will come out. These products undergo further processing and they can be sold and also these two co products are used to produce one more material (by product) which is sold as well used in the production of main Finished material.
processing of co products and production of by product take place separately in other production machines/units.
can someone please suggest how i can map this scenario? and in this situation how the BOM is created??
    Regards,
    Pavan

    Hi Prasobh,
Material "A" is  the main finished material which uses production unit "01" to produce.
During production of "A", materials "B" and "C" will come out as a co products.
Material "B" is further processed in production unit "02"  and material "C" is further processed in production unit "03" to make them as sell able and usable materials.
Again material "B" and "C" are used to produce material "D" which uses production unit "04". Material "D" is also sold and
This material "D" in small quantities used in the production of main material "A".
I can get production requirement for material "A" only.
All production units are located in the same premise.
The scenario is bit complex, above explanation may give some clear picture to you.
