Co-product settlement

Dears Sirs
We are facing an issue about co-product settlement. Maybe someone has the same scenario and could help us.
Our scenario requires to settle cost according to actual production (movements 101 and 531).
This production has variances so I cannot count on the apportionment structure define in the joint production in MM03/MRP4.
Currently we do this process manually, I meant we check the production total amount in the period, calculate the percentual and we update the
settlement rule in COR2.
Example:
Product A => qty 1000kg
Co-Product B => qty 20 kg
Co-Product C => qty 15 kg
Total => 1035, percentual for settlement rule are: 96,62%, 1,93% 1,45%
     Qty     Settl Rule        Cost        Price
A 1000        96,62%     1.449,28      1,45
B     20         1,93%          28,99      1,45
C     15          1,45%         21,74      1,45
Total 1035                     1.500,00
This ensures the same price for material and its co-products.
We would like to check if this process can be automatically done by the
system.
OSS says there is no standard configuration for it.
I was wondering to ask for an enhancement and automatically calculates and update settlement rule during the change for TECO.
Regards

Hi Ramos ,
I  strongly believe that enchancement will be able to integrate the process and do it automatically..
Create a "Z" table where all the percentile of the product are to be stored. Fields will be material, plant, period and quantity.
Create  a custom program/BAPI which will update the "Z" table based on the total production of the material for the month . Use a batch job monthly to populated the table..
After that create another custom program/BAPI to change the settlement rule based on the percentages from the "Z" table ..Use a month batch job to populate the same ..
I have not done exactly similar stuffs.. but something matching close .. which requires change in settlemet rule..
Please revert back for any further clarifications..

  • Production settlements causing unassigned distribution channel in PA

    Hi Experts,
When a production settlement process is run we have noticed that we are getting various unassigned postings in PA.  The settlements do not generate distribution channel or reporting group assignments amongst other things.
Is there somewhere that these can be defined via the settlement process ?  Or are these scenario's dealt with using Top-down distribution or Derivation rules ?
    Many Thanks for any thoughts.
    Regards,
    Matt

    Hi,
Please check if the settlement rule contains the required characteristics. If not they have to be populated via derivation i.e. tcode KEDR. If this is also not possible then top down distribution could be explored.

  • PCA Functional Area Report Problem With Co-Product Settlements

I have built a profit center functional area report for use in a manufacturing client.  The reason is because the factory cost centers flow to the product cost (via costing sheets) and the administrative cost centers are expensed monthly.  However, SAP seems to have no other approach to handle the issue where common expense elements must be reported in these two separate sections.  Anyway, here is my problem:
After creating the functional areas and matching them to each cost center appropriately and then applying a different functional area to orders, I see that settlement of co-products causes my report to zero out the functional area that should match the overhead cost centers.  These obviously should not be impacted by settlement and I see that they are not impacted in the transactional data.  However, the functional area report shows a different story.  I believe it somehow has to do with the unusual way that co-product split up and settle versus other types of orders.  I may need some sort of subtitution rule, but like I said, the raw transactional data looks correct and the report should bring in these values.
I used ledger 8A if that helps.  I am sure I missed some small thing somewhere.
    David

It looks to me like the New G/L may have taken care of some of my issue.  The FI reconciliation G/L account (690000 usually) includes the secondary cost center postings as well as the secondary order postings.  The cost center side of the secondary transaction reflects the functional area for cost centers (Factory Exp or Admin Exp in my case), whereas the order side of the secondary posting shows the functional area associated with order consumption (Net Consumption in our case).
This appears to mean that the standard report for Functional Areas from FI should work to break up the income statement for manufacturing purposes.  This report is S_PLO_86000029.  That report looks to me like it will replace my need for a PCA based Functional Area Report.

    Hello Experts
I need the settlement rule PP6, but this rule is only aviable for SAP Mill Products. Is there any possibilty to use them in ECC 6.0?
If not? how can i implement such a scenario?
    Thanks for help.

  • Production order settlement info

    Hi,
In production order settlement category  is MAT.Some times it is CTR .But costing varient is PPP2.In settlement configuration i check that Allocation structure is A1 ,PA transfer sture is A1 butdefault object trype  is blank . So how system take it MAT some times CTR sometimes and wt is the impact and wt is the meaning of this thing when production settlement i is happened  ?
    Thanks &  Regards,
    Debashis

    HI,
You can check order type in the Production or Maintenance order as Type.
Check the Order Type in T.code KOT2 and view details for your order type in which you can see the settlement profile. The settlement profile(T.Code OKO7) will have the Default object MAT or CTR etc.
Costing variant doesn't have any relevance.
Generally all maintainence order will be settled to cost Center.
And Production Order will be settled to Material.
At the settlement all the costs incurred for the production order will be settled (Moved) to respective Finished product if it is MAT and for Cost center if it is CTR.
The accounting entries for production order will be
    Price Difference F.G A/c DR
To Change in Stock A/c Cr
    or Vice versa.

  • Settlement for month-end closing, individual production or sales order

    Dear SAP Experts,
    Our style is MTO.
In month-end closing, we follow to make a settlement for production orders:
    1. CO43   -- Actual overhead calculation (collective processing)
    2. KSU5   -- Actual allocations Assessment
    3. KSII     -- Actual Price Calculation
    4. CON2  -- Revaluation at actual prices (collective processing)
    5. KKAO -- WIP calculation (collective processing)
    6. CO88  -- Production order settlement (collective processing)
    Question:
    1. What kind accounts will be effected after above each step?
    2.  does individual production settlement need step 1-4 in above?
        1. KKAX (Work in Process)
        2. KO88 (Settlement)
        Is those enough?
    3. What kind account will be effected after va44 processing?
    Any tips will be welcome.
    Zhou Zhen

    Hi,
The value flow completely different for each of the MTO Scenario.
I need to know what kind of MTO scenario you have.
is it MTO - Valuated Sale Order without Sale Order Controlling
Is it MTO - Valuated Sale Order with Sale Order Controling
is it MTO- Non-valuated Sale Order (Sale Order controlling is mandatory)
based on this the value flows and the transaction that need to be executed will differ.
The way you explained i presume that it could be any of the first two scenarios.
in such case, the value flows are as good as make to stock scenario. Only in the third scenario, the value flow completely changes
For 1. What kind accounts will be effected after above each step?
all the accounts relevant for Make to Stock will get affected. But the the scenario is MTO - Valuated Sale Order with Sale Order Controling, the the variances from production order is settled to Sale order instead of settling to COPA.
For 2. does individual production settlement need step 1-4 in above?
All the steps from 1 to 6 are necessary for any of the above 3 scenarios
For 3. What kind account will be effected after va44 processing?
This is for calculating the overheads on the sale order. in this case, the sale order is a controlling object. once this t.code is executed, you can see the oh being calculated on the sale order
Hope this will give some good isight in to various MTO scenarios
    Best Regards

  • Update of confirmed quantity to the equivalence number in Settlement Rule

We are in IS - Mill.
Combined order is created with child orders. GR is done against Child Order.
Is it possible that after TECO is done for Combined Order, the individual GR qty gets updated in the Equivalnce field of the Settlement rule of the Combined Order.
    What are the settings required..
    Kamlesh

    Hi Kamijha
I had the same situation for co-product settlement.
I would like that SAP automatically update the settlement rule by the proportion of product and co-product production quantity.
I´ve raise an OSS to SAP and the response was negative. Only by a custom development or manually.

  • Production order text

    Dear Experts,
We have a process setup to flow STO demand from comapny A, Plant
1 to Company B, plant 2. When MRP runs in the manufacturing
plant2 from company B, it generates a planned order and can be
converted to production order. However we want to link the STO
and production order. so that we can identify against which STO
we are produced the goods. We dont want to use account
assignment in STO as it could lead to production settlement
problems. So is there a way that we can copy STO number into my
production order text field and then we should be able to get it
onto shopfloor docs and labels. Please advice
    Thanks

    Hi,
Why do you think that the text is required for production order..???
What is the requirement to have material text in production order..???
You can maintain the text for production order in "long text" tab in production order screen. If u want bring the material text to production order it has to be done through either user exit or some BAPI.

  • Cost estimate

    Hi Guru's
Our project go live was this month of 11th. At the time i run cost estimate for all the materials. But i know this is month end activity.
But my doubt is before next cost estimate for all the materials. Is it required for all the PP orders settlements are required or not.
I their any relation of Order settlement process and cost estimation for all the materials.
    Please give me the solution.
    Thx
    Siva Ala

    Dear Siva,
Production settlement is done at the month end,and cost estimate will be done in the month beginning
for the period. In some cases cost estimate may be carried out quarterly wise also.
There may be some production orders which may be carried out for more than a month. In that case at
the month end we cannot do the settlement, because the order will be still open for some confirmation.
From the Production order settlement point of view,
When a production order is settled, the actual costs incurred for the order are settled to one or more
receiver cost-objects (for example, to the account for the material produced or to a sales order).
Offsetting entries are generated automatically to credit the production order:
If the costs for the production order are settled to a material account, the order is credited each time
material is delivered to stock. The material stock account is debited accordingly.
If the costs for the production order are settled to another receiver (for example to a sales order), the
order is credited automatically at the time of settlement. The cost-objects are debited accordingly.
The debit posting remains in the order and can be displayed even after the costs have been settled. The
settled costs are updated in the corresponding receiver cost-object and can be displayed in reporting.

These are the items that are missing u2013 essentially the accounts without cost centre elements. But we would need a report that has everything or we will have to piece a report together which will be more time consuming."
    Raju

    hi,
first of all, GR55 is "execute report group" transaction ...
with GR53 you can check which reports are included in this report group .. .
after that .. depending on the type of report (painter or writer) you can go to tr GR32 or GRR2 ...
there you can adjust the needed report ... copy to new and change, or add new info ...
BUT  ... to me ... it looks like you have to maintain set or report group with the mentioned accounts ...
so please try to maintain set (RW) or ordinary CE group ..
to maintain set ... go to GS02 ...
to maintain CE group ... got to KAH2 ...
    hope this was helpful ...

  • Mac mini advice

i was thinking about buying a mac mini should i buy one now or wait until they get updated again.

Well that really depends on what you want it for, and whether you need a new system now or can wait.
If it's a simple question of you wanting a mini but being unable to decide whether to buy now or to wait until intel-powered minis are released, the answer is fairly easy: if you are interested in the latest technology, wait. But if you're interested in a system that has plenty of power, runs everything currently available and which will give you 2-3 years of great service while your looking to see how the Mac range pans out in the transition to Intel as a whole, and for a while after as the new products settle down and Intel-native applications grow in number, a PPC based mini would be a good immediate investment.

  • CO88 - Error message CK122

    Dear Experts,
Because of some reasons, our users are doing Production settlement for period 10.2010. But get this error
"You are attempting to update in a period that is locked against posting. This error can occur when you attempt to post to a period that is in the past"
The reason could be: MM period is just open for period 12.2010 & previous period 11.2010. But settlement to 10.2010
I don't understand why system check for MM period ? Because we are using standard price control for all FG --> Settlement can not affect stock data.
Is there any way to solve this issue ? Thank so much!

    Hi
Implement note 1135678 in your system
Issue will be resolved!! I have myself been in this situation

  • Production order with negative amount for settlement in to Material for MAP

    Hi All,
When I am trying to settle some production orders, it is giving me an error "Moving average price for material is negative" and doesnot let me settle them. we have maintained our materials at MAP and settle our production order variances to material to adjust its MAP. In these orders, it is trying to settle negative value, which is greater than the total value of the stock of materials and if settled leaving some of the stock with negative value. does any body has this situation and what would be the solution for this ?
    Thanks
    MKR

    Hi,
This is Pavan Fronm IBGroup Rajnandgaon.
    To My Knowledge,
When U Settle the Production Order, the Diffence Between the Target cost and Actual cost(MAP) of Finished Material hits the Material Account of the finished goods.
    Say Suppose,
Target cost (Production Cost) =   Cost of Raw material + consumable,   =  10
                                                    Activity ( Labour, Power, etc)              =    5
                                                    Overheads.                                        =    2
                                                                                    17
Actual Cost is ur Finished Material (MAP). = 18
    CASE 1:
Now the system calculate the difference as 17 - 18 = -1 Rs , it try to reduce from Material Cost,
Now in case if Material has the stock say 1 unit.
it will reduce the cost of material by 1 rs in Material Master.
If the Material has no stock , as we know the system try to reduce the cost from zero stock tends to
    give us a message saying
MOVING AVERAGE PRICE OF MATERIAL IS NEGATIVE.
    CASE 2:
If Target - Actual is say +1 RS it increases the material price to 1 Rupee, if stock is Zero , then 1 Rupee
    hits the Price Difference
    CASE 3: *STANDARD PRICE INDICATOR*
In case of Standard Price indicator Every thing beyone the Material Price , whether respect to negative
variance  or positive variance hits the price difference.
So I request u to settle the order if u use MAP for Finished goods befor dispatch of finished good to calculate actual production cost for ur finished material..
We can Also use MR21 for price change if the stock has dispatched befor settlement, but it is not suggestable to my knowledge hence ur material wont carry actual production cost if that is thae case.
Please Correct if I m Wrong.

  • Error in Settlement production order

    Hi,
I am facing follow error when try to settled production order in KO88.
There are no accrued amounts; settlement is not possible
    Message no. KD256
    Diagnosis
The sender has a results analysis key, but no accrued values.
Either the accrual was not yet started for the sender, or the values to be settled from the accrual equal zero.
    Note
Actual costs are only settled once the sender is technically completed or finally delivered.
    This applies to
    Projects that cannot carry revenues

    Production orders
    Internal orders with no revenues
    Orders with no revenues

    2. Restart settlement
    Raja.

    Hi AP,
First of all thanks for you are paying continue attention on my thread.
I have checked in production order that goods are issued against the production orders and costs are captured.
When I run KKAX,facing following error.Hope you can solve this.
There are values for cost element 50200000 that are not assigned to any line ID
    Message no. KJ161
    Diagnosis
Not all values for the cost element are assigned to a line ID.
    Procedure
Assign the cost element to a line ID. If you don't want to include the cost element in results analysis, assign it to a line ID of category N.
You can access a detailed list of unassigned cost elements as follows: Start results analysis in the individual processing mode (transaction KKA1, KKA2, or KKA3). Select the field Full log. Execute the function. On the next screen, choose Logs -> Parameter List in the menu. A list is generated. The unassigned values are shown at the end of the list.
If cost element "+++++++++" was shown in the message, this is because in the assignment of costs and revenues to line IDs, you have not used a cost element other than the full masking "+++++++++". In this case a presummarization eliminates the information on the cost element.
    Raja.
