Code Works in Flash 7 not Flash 8

I am working on updating an interactive tutorial with
navigation buttons. When a person moves back to a certain frame the
code below removes the buttons (movie clips). It works in Flash 7
with AS 1, but freezes up in Flash 8 AS 2. Any suggestions

Should I declare the variable before?
Like the following:
var totalNumberButtons = 25;

    1) Are you absolutely sure that the keystorePath variable contains the correct path to
    your truststore on the unix machine?
    2) Does the truststore contain the certificate of the server you are trying to connect to?
    3) Im guessing that your commented-out line using the trustAllCerts refers to a blank
    or promiscuous TrustManager implementation that does not check your truststore. Does the server
    work on the unix machine using the trustAllCerts? If it does, then that means there is something
    wrong with your truststore (possibly one of the two above mentioned items).

  • CSS code works in dreamweaver but not in browsers

    I've scaled this code down to the very basics in attempts to find where my error is and I can not figure out what is going wrong here. The code works fine in the dreamweaver CS5 preview, but will not display in browsers properly.
    My first 2 classes are working fine, but my 3rd will not work in the browsers. I have posted this page here http://www.vaporapparel.com/color.html
    The class for the beginning paragraph works fine, the class for the headers works fine, but my 3rd class for the sub-text does not take effect outside of dreamweaver preview. Below the sub-text on this page I posted a screenshot of my css sheet. If you can help me out, please do... It is greatly appreciated
    Thanks!

  • JMF code working under linux but not windows XP

    Hello everyone,
    I'm currently working on a nice cross-platform project involving sound producing. I decided to take a look at JMF and test it a bit to know if its features can suit me. I tried to make it works under windows, using a very simple sample of code. The system seems to play the sound as some console output detects the start and the end, but all i hear is a very short noise ( 1/2second ) like a "CLIK" and nothing else. I tested the code under linux, using the same computer and it works just fine, playing the same wave nicely and entirely.
    some info:
    -i used the cross platform JMF, no performance pack ( i tried it , but still no result )
    -the code just opens a file dialog and plays the selected file
    -the selected file was always a very simple .wav
    -i did not use system classpath variables because i don't like it, i rather use local classpath ( which works fine too, no doubt about it )
    -i tested this little soft on 2 other computer using windows XP, and still got the same result.
    Please, have you got an idea about what's going on ?
    Thanks a lot for any answer!

  • Code works on new form not on older form

    Hi
    I am trying to change an existing form (add some code). I tested the code in a new form I create on my computer but when I do the same on a form supplied and created on a different computer the code won't work
    What I see is that the form properties of a new form on my computer give Version 9.xxx  and on the form that was created on the other computer the Version is listed as 8.xx
    Anyone know how I can convert the Version 8.xx file to a Version 9.xx?
    Or someone know how to set a EnclosedOption group from optional to required in Version 8? In version 9 I use  Gender.validate.nullTest="error" or Gender.validate.nullTest="disabled" but this doesn't work on the old Version 8.xx PDF File.
    Help greatly appreciated!
    regards
    Meir

    Jenn Hi
    Two more questions if i may.
    In the Dynamic version that you sent me we ended up with the entire ExclusionGroup with a large red box around it where in the static each option used to have the Red instead. And it seems to be a very thick red box.
    1) Is there anyway to control the width of the Red Box?
    2)I switched the version that you sent me back to "Static" and then in the verification options added "color fields" and this gives us the functionality that we originally wanted.
    The challenge with this solution is that the "page # of ##" on the master page doesn't render.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Meir R.

  • NetStream.send not working in Flash Player 11.2 Beta with Cirrus, Please confirm if it is a bug

    Title
    NetStream.send not working in Flash Player 11.2 Beta with Cirrus, Please confirm if it is a bug or feature
    Description
    Problem Description:
    NetStream.send can not send data to peerstreams when using with cirrus. Conflict with documents.
    Sorry for tag the build as 11.0.1.3 while the bug is actually on 11.2 beta since the bug report system didn't have 11.2 beta yet.
    If you are not responsible for 11.2 beta bug fix, please help a hand to handle this bug to 11.2 team.
    This bug is "killing" to your application, so we really appreciate your help. Thanks.
    ==Publisher==
    nc.connect("rtmfp://");
    var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc, NetStream.DIRECT_CONNECTIONS);
    ns.publish("sendtest");
    ...//after connection success.
    ns.send("clientfunction", "ok"); // this line cannot reach subscribers. even if subscribers have client object correctly.
    ==Subscriber==
    nc.connect("rtmfp://");
    var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc, cirrusid);
    var client:Object = new Object();
    client.clientfunction = clientfunction; // target function
    ns.client = client;
    ns.play("sendtest");
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. compile the code in the attachment to SendTestExample.swf (not be able to paste it here)
    2. run it under flash player 11.2.202.19 beta
    3. run it under flash player 11
    Actual Result:
    HeartBeat is:
    Start HeartBeat:
    send hello
    send hello
    send hello
    which means NetStream.send was not able to call "clientfunction" as expected.
    Expected Result:
    Start HeartBeat:
    send hello
    in client function: hello
    send hello
    in client function: hello
    send hello
    in client function: hello
    which can call into the clientfunction as flash player 11 did.
    Any Workarounds:
    I can not find it out since it's an api level bug. But this can be very important for lots of applications which rely on send to do rpc.

  • Flash on my site working in IE but not firefox?

    Uploaded new update to my site last night, but I cannot seem to get the swf files to play or even show up in firefox. I have not checked with any other browsers, but it works fine in IE(not sure of version). Also, it displayed correct when I was previewing it from my local machine in firefox, just not after I had uploaded it to my server, and I cannot figure out why. JS turned on, checked everything that I can. Here is my site:
    http://skylerloans.com/
    If it is or is not working for you, could you please let me know, and what browser you are using? I would like to get it up asap, as I am also going to upload a guestbook soon, I just want to make sure it will display!
    Thank you for your time,
    Skyler

    Thank you for the response. The swf are a poll on my website, and a clock. Try using IE, I bet they show up and you can view them!
    I am using dreamweaver. I go to insert>media>flash and then select my swf file from my root. All my files that go along with the swf are uploaded, and it works fine when I preview from my local machine!
    Here is a snippet of code concerning the swf in my source:
    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0" width="600" height="410" title="loans">
          <param name="movie" value="preview.swf" />
          <param name="quality" value="high" />
          <embed src="preview.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="600" height="410"></embed>
        </object>
    And again, it works like a charm in Internet Explorer, I cannot figure this out.
    Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it!

  • Keyboard shortcuts for text selection not working in Flash CC

    In the new Code Editor in Flash CC running on Mac OS X, most standard Keyboard Shortcuts for traversing through the text work as expected (as the Operating System works globally) but there is one that doesn't and it's I think the most important one.
    Hitting "OPTION + SHIFT + [right or left arrow keys]" to select words doesn't work. Hitting "OPTION + [right or left arrow keys]" works as expected, moving the cursor to the next word or break point, but adding shift doesn't do the selection.
    I don't understand why this changed since it's a basic OS global shortcuts, and every other program behaves the way it should. Flash CS6 running on the same system behaves fine, but Flash CC doesn't. If you have ever written code, you know that any second that a programmers hand doesn't have to leave the keyboard to search for the mouse is invaluable, and this has forced me to stop using Flash CC and use Flash CS6 to edit my Action Script classes becuase it's unusable otherwise.
    These shortcuts are also not listed in the keyboard shortcuts for the program, so I can't change the default behavior. Does anybody know if there's a way to set it back to the way it was before, or just disable special text shortcuts so that selecting text behaves like any other application in the operating system?
    System Configuration:
    Flash CC
    Mac OSX 10.8.5

    Amy~ Yep the lasso tool was what I verified with another user. 'L' seems to be bound indefinitely to loop through different types of lasso tools and it was annoying them because they just wanted L to be the regular freehand lasso. I removed 'L' from being an option on the polygon lasso and even set it explicitly to SHIFT+L as well as set the lasso tool to a completely different keyboard combo. 'L' still cycled through lassos haha. It needs some fixes.
    fertolg~ At least you have a workaround for now. I'd go nuts if I couldn't use keyboard text selection writing code, oy! You're welcome and if you're all set please mark correct so we can filter unanswered. Good luck!

    I am trying to save a custom code snippet in Flash CC and it does not save, any ideas why?  I am using Windows 8.1 with Flash CC.
    I even when into the "Edit Code Snippet XML" and added a Custom folder and a custom template.  Then I went back to add the code snippet again and it still did not work.

  • Sound not working in Flash Builder. Help please.

    So, here's my situation. I keep trying to put an mp3 in Flash Builder to try and make sounds happen, but each time I do it only plays the beginning of it and stops midway through. My music is working at 44100 Hz with a 32 bit rate (tried changing it to 16, but Audition won't let me). Here's my code.
    package
              import flash.display.Sprite;
              import flash.events.Event;
              import flash.events.KeyboardEvent;
              import flash.media.Sound;
              import flash.media.SoundChannel;
              import flash.ui.Keyboard;
              [SWF(width = "550", height = "400",
              backgroundColor = "#FFFFFF", frameRate = "60")]
              public class SoundThing extends Sprite
                        [Embed(source="../sounds/try1.mp3")]
                        private var Try:Class;
                        private var _try:Sound = new Try();
                        private var _tryChannel:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel();
                        public function SoundThing()
                                  stage.addEventListener
                                            (KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, keyDownHandler);
                        public function keyDownHandler(event:KeyboardEvent): void
                                  if (event.keyCode == Keyboard.SPACE)
                                            _tryChannel = _try.play();
    I'm not sure what the issue is. Please help me. Thank you!

    I would say that either the OP needs two tabs somewhere to make his headings and line items align,Exactly what I was thinking. As this sample code illustrates, the b will not line up under Column#2. Perhpas OP needs to use a Formatter or the printf method instead.
        StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
        sb.append("Column#1");
        sb.append("\tColumn#2\n");
        sb.append("a");
        sb.append("\t");
        sb.append("b");
        System.out.println(sb);

  • Arrays not working in flash lite

    I could not get a multidimensional array to work in flash
    lite, then tried a regular array - it is not working either.
    This code works:
    var myVar;
    myVar = 5;
    answer_true_button_btn.onPress = function() {
    points_txt.text = String( myVar );
    This code does not work:
    var myVar:Array = new Array(5);
    myVar[0] = 5;
    answer_true_button_btn.onPress = function() {
    points_txt.text = String( myVar[0] );
    Now do multidimensional arrays.
    I have tried in Flash Lite 2 and 2.1.

    Here was the problem: I had ActionScript 1 selected (even
    though Flash Lite 2.1 was selected in the "Version" box) in the
    publish settings. Apparently, you write in AS 1 or AS 2, and
    publish in Flash Lite x.x.
    Flash Lite 1.1 does not support arrays, except for the latest
    version.

  • Autocompletion not working in Flash Builder burrito

    Hello!
    What causes could prevent autocompletion from working in Flash Builder burrito? in flash builder 4 it works fine, but not at all in burrito. maybe I changed some settings somehow? If i open Settings->Flash Builder->Editors then "Enable Auto Activation" under "Code Assist" is checked.
    what other reason could there be for that problem?

    Hi,
    Are you using 'Flash Builder Burrito Preview'? You might have faced this known issue https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-28451 . This is fixed in future builds of Flash Builder.
    Workaround is, Click 'Restore defaults' in Preferences->Flash Builder->Editors->ActionScript Code->Content Assist Cycling
    Or Changing workspace.
    Let us know if this workaround solves the issue.
