How do I paste some text from another source on to a letter that was received as pdf and converted to word?

If the letter is already in Word format, the normal copy and paste method should work. If it doesn't, it's a Word, not a Reader problem.

Colin: How do I open CS4 in 'The Levelater'?

Hey Colin: I did as you suggested and I downloaded 'The levelater'. I grouped the same projects together again to create a new project just like the old one. I am anxious to see how it works. Also I was using a lot of memory doing it frame by frame and things were starting to slow up a bit.
I could not figure out how to get CS4 into 'The Levelater'. You said something about dragging some Wv@...#$% files. But I am clueless. I put 'The Levelater' in a file on the same drive as my project. I could tell you all I tried but then all that would do is muddy things up.
So in really simple terms, for a rookie, please tell me how to get the two together.

What you'll need to do is extra the audio portion of your clips to individual WAV files. Now, since it sounds like you don't have Soundbooth, I don't think you'll have the "Render and Replace" command for audio in Premiere. To check if you do (which would make life easier), select one of your clips in the timeline, and then go up to Clip > Audio Options > Render and Replace. If you do have that option, great! It'll make life a lot easier--simply select it and Premiere will automatically render the audio portion of the clip to a WAV file and link it to the video portion of the clip. The WAV file will likely be stored in the same folder as your Premiere Pro project. If you have this option, you can even do this in a batch: select all of your clips in the timeline, and repeat the process. "New" audio files will replace all of the original audio.
If you don't see "Render and Replace" as an option, fear not: salvation lies ahead, though it may mean a bit more work for you. Instead of selecting your clips in your sequence, select them all in the project panel/bin, and go to Clip > Audio Options > Extract Audio. This will perform largely the same procedure as "Render and Replace", except for the fact that the audio will not be automatically linked to the video clips in the sequence. However, the clips will appear in the bin (with something like an "Extracted" addition to their name), and you will be able to (one-by-one) replace the sequence audio clips with the new extracted ones, by holding down Alt+Shift and dragging an audio clip to its matching video clip in the timeline. As said, this may involve a bit of work, but is still doable.
After you've done either one of these above, close out Premiere. In Explorer, find your project directory (where the extracted audio WAVs should be), and create a new folder, called something like "Extracted Audio". Move the extracted audio files into that folder--as said, they should have something like "Extracted" in their name. These are the files to which Premiere is currently pointing, which is the reason we needed to close Premiere.
Next, to the Levelator: after you've extracted or rendered your audio, depending on the process you followed above, you can simply drag all of those generated WAV files to the Levelator application window. Note that you can also select all of the files, right-click on one of them, and go to Send To > CN Levelator; easy! It will process each file, one after another, and create new "fixed" WAVs with another addition to the filename--this time, it's ".output". Great, your audio is "fixed", but now Premiere doesn't know where those files are because we moved them and changed their name! No problem--we can fix that...
First, make a new folder at the same level as the "Extracted Audio" folder we created above; call it something like "Fixed Audio". Move all the files that now have the ".output" addition to their name into the "Fixed Audio" folder. Download Renamer and install it; this is an extremely useful tool that ends up as part of my video workflows all the time. When you open the program, drag your files with the ".output" addition into the files pane, and then click where it says "Click here to add a rule". Select the Remove option, and in the text box type ".output" without the quotes. Click "Add Rule", and then in the main panel click the green Rename button. That ".output" addition to the filenames will be automatically removed.
Finally (!), relaunch Premiere and open your project. First it will complain that it can't find the audio files, so navigate into the "Fixed Audio" folder and select the first file that it asks for. All of the rest will be automatically relinked, and the audio now associated with your project will be your fixed audio!
Now, I know that seems like a lot of steps, but honestly, it will take longer to read this than to actually do it. I hope it helps and please post back with any problems or, preferably, tales of resounding success!

When exporting to Premiere, do the Track and Clip FX get rendered along with it, or do you have to do something special first?

The video files from Colin Smith's Adobe Speedgrade tutorial are solid green but other video files work.

I downloaded the project files for Colin Smith's Speedgrade tutorial but all the video files show as solid green and have a frame rate of 0.01 to 0.00 from within premiere Pro CC14 but they play fine on VLC player. I tried to download and unzipped the files multiple times with the same result. Other MP4 content works fine on the Premiere Pro timeline.

Eax doesn't work with Colin Mcrae 04,05 on Audig

Hi there?I have an Audigy 4 card with all the latest drivers installed. When I try to play Colin McRae Rally ( both 04 and 05) I cannot select the EAX 4.0 option in either game. It is shown as disabled and always off. Has anyone encountered this? Is there a fix somewhere?P4 2.4GHz, Abit IC7, Gb RAM, Nvidia 7800gs AGP, SB Audigy 4, WinXP home SP2. Many thanks in advance

After auth success sent from radius to the client the clients enters 4-way handshak phase where 4 messages are being sent.
message 1 is from the AP to the client.
mesasge 2 is from the client to the AP replying to message 1.
In the debugs above it shows that the client did not reply to message 1. so the AP waiting for the message 2 (which is a reply for message 1) but hte client does not send it at all. (M2 in the debug messages refers to message 2 in the handshake).
So I think that you need to double check your adapter, make sure it is compatible with CCKM and upgrade the driver if necessary.
If the problem persists it is wise to contact intel support if everyone else work fine with the WLAN except this type of clients/drivers.
BTW, I can see in your description that your security is 802.1x + CCKM. in this case clients connected will work with CCKM if they support it and those who do not support CCKM will work normally without CCKM support. So even if your device does not support CCKM it should probably work.
Do you have same problem when you choose only 802.1x as a security?
one more tip is to increase the advanced EAP timer on the WLC. maybe the timeout for messages in the handshake it small and the client is a bit slow to reply.

Why can't you use her ID? My wife, my daughter and I all use my Apple ID.
Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID and try to sign in there with her ID. Make sure that you are entering all of the information (password) correctly.
If you really want to create a new Apple ID - use your own email address, but I would recommend using only one ID anyway.

What is Colin's Waveform in Shared Files?

I did an update for iTunes - the 7.2 update that is apparently known for some issues and problems.
I don't have a problem purchasing or downloading songs but I noticed that over to the left under My Downloads, there is a 'Shared' file called "Colin's Waveform Files"
I was curious to know what that was and that is where I receive the "err = -3259 "The network connection timed out" message whenever I click on it to see what it is.
Is this the same on everyone else's iTunes with the update? (Referring to Colin's Waveform Files" in 'Shared')

You're probably seeing the shared iTunes library from some other computer on your local network. Go into the iTunes Sharing preference and turn off "look for shared music". If you don't want to similarly be sharing your iTunes library with other computers, make sure that the "Share My Music" option is unchecked.

If it is a brief sound, perhaps a half second in duration, it may very well be the OS checking the internal optical drive. That is part of the OS startup process which is normal. Start your MBP and put your ear next to the optical drive and see if this is the case.

You will not lose the apps but you will not be able to update them without using the old ID. If you got a new email address, you can simply change your Apple ID. There is no need to create a new one.

I would like to ask if anyone has tried to play colin mcrae using the latest MacBook (with the new GPU). Is it compatible with this graphics card, while with the previous MacBook you couldn't play it.

I downloaded the Demo and tried it on my brand new MacBook black with the new internal graphic processor, however could not play it, I only saw weird geometric graphics. Finally I had to force quit the demo, since I could not end it properly.

Colin Smith, HELP! Photoshop 3D

Hopefully Colin makes it to the forums now and then. I have a question in reference to the Photoshop 3D video that I just watched related to 3D and repousse. I've been having fits trying to convert my Illustrator files into 3D so I can import and annimate them in After Effects. The Photoshop video in question is exactly was I was looking for - Taking an Illustrator file, imported into Photoshop as a layered PSD, extruding the various layers to give it some depth and texture, and then hopefully I would be able to import it into an After Effects project to animate it. Here's the problem...
The file I'm importing is a logo. It features just three layers (CMYK if that makes a difference) that I export into a PSD file. One layer is simply a background rectangle with a color fill. The other two objects are text converted to curves, so they may as well be any object. I exported to a PSD with layers, and it's importing into the PSD file in folders, I think because the objects that represent the text in the logo is grouped. I'm not sure if that matters. Anyhow, when I select a layer in the PSD file to extrude it using the repousse feature, I get the marching ants around that particular item to indicate that it's been selected, but all the 3D options are still greyed out. This is giving me fits, but hopefully it's a subtle and simple solution. I've tried everything, including converting the file to RBG, converting the layers into smart objects, rasterizing the layers, etc. It doesn't seem to matter what I change, I can't use the 3D features, and specifically the repousse. Any help would be much appreciated.
I'm running CS5 64 bit on a quad core Xeon machine with 32G of ram and a Quadro 4600 1.5G video card. I don't know if the system specs are relevant, but here it is just in case it's useful.
