  • Does the collaboration builder sdk work with as3

    Hi.  I want to make a custom pod for connect and I have flashbuilder.
    Can I use AS3 or must I use AS2?
    And do you know any good additional sources and or tutorial on doing this or on building custom pods?
    Thanks!

    The Connect Meeting application has been in AS3 since Connect 8. AS3 and AS2 don't play well together, so, no, you shouldn't use AS2.
    This tutorial may be of use: http://www.connectusers.com/tutorials/2011/06/building_custom_pods/. It is for Connect 8, but it should still apply. Here is part two of that tutorial: http://youtu.be/BCoNW9SYIdc.
    You can get the Collaboration Builder SDK document from the developer center: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/adobeconnect.html

  • Collaboration Builder SDK and iOS/Android

    Hi,
    I Just discovered Connect and dove straight in to Collaboration Builder SDK.
    Pretty soon I discovered that I can't share my swf with people connecting from iOS/Android devices.
    Is there a different way to do it?
    I basically want to create a collaborative touch app using Flash Builder that I can use in a Pod with people connecting from different devices.
    I appreciate any help.

    Currently your custom SWF must be compiled for FP9. I believe that FP 10 support is slated for Connect 9.
    From the Collaboration SDK documentation:
    Development environment
    This SDK is for Flex developers who have a working knowledge of Flex, Flex components, and ActionScript and want to develop collaborative Adobe Connect applications.
    Collaboration Builder applications must use the Flex 3.5 SDK and be compiled for Flash Player 9.

  • Collaboration Builder and Presenter in Adobe Connect

    I have a project which requires reporting features out of Adobe Presenter, but we want to now integrate it with collaboration builder to have host lead sessions. Has anyone had experience with these two areas? I am getting very little out of my searches simply with Collaboration Builder. I am looking for someone with experience with the reporting feature of virtual classrooms, and specifically getting the reporting of that type of meeting to work with Collaboration Builder sdk, to load another game swf, which holds our game content. Viewer.swf is confusing in the current scheme of Presenter file structure, because I do not know what tasks that swf carries out, so I can incorporate them into my Flex shell to run a Presenter type game in Adobe Connect with my Flex shell. Not sure if that was clear, please ask any questions you have about this structure.

    Presenter does use the Collaboration Builder SDK, though to the exact implementation, I'm not able to say.
    Full documentation for the Collaboration Builder SDK, go to the Connect Developer center, Adobe Connect | Adobe Developer Connection That may help clarify the functionality and implementation of the SDK into your Flex application.

  • How to update the AIR included in Flash Builder SDK?

    So, the Flash Builder SDK comes with a version of AIR, which it uses when you package a mobile app for iOS (Android mobile apps are run with the AIR that's downloaded from the Marketplace)...  On my Windows machine, this "built-in" copy of AIR is located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.6\sdks\4.6.0\runtimes\" unless I'm mistaken.
    I'm pretty sure that it does not automatically update itself -- and I'm equally certain that it's a pretty old version of AIR, because it's the one that was included with the 4.6 SDK which was released 8 months ago...
    So how do I update this version of AIR that's built into the Flash Builder SDK?
    Thanks,
    Laurence MacNeill
    Mableton, Georgia, USA

    Oops -- never mind...  Didn't realize there was a separate AIR SDK that you could download -- I thought it was integrated into the Flex SDK, and since there hasn't been a new Flex SDK since 4.6, I thought I had to somehow grab pieces and parts of AIR to update this manually...
    But grabbing the AIR SDK from http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/air-sdk-download.html did the trick...  Just unzipped that into the sdks\4.6.0 folder and was done...  Sweet...

  • Building SDK 1.4.0

    Has anybody ever built/compiled Java SDK 1.4.0 source code in Red Hat Linux (version 7.3 or 9)?
    Any idea where I can get some info about this? TQ

    You have to have the source for the JDK - and that's covered by Sun's license. Besides, why would you want to build it when you can just download it and install it? I've never had a problem with Sun's JDKs on Linux and the BlackDown (blackdown.org) ports work very well, too.

  • IOS Simulator build: SDK is missing GPL component X:\sdk_path\lib\aot/bin/as/as-386.exe

    Trying to build a simulator build with air 16 or 17 and iPhoneSimulator8.2.sdk I get the following error:
    SDK is missing GPL component X:\sdk_path\lib\aot/bin/as/as-386.exe
    igmake: *** [../bin/project.ipa] Error 16
    igmake: Leaving directory `X:/project/'
    I've checked various sdk versions.  Some of them have an "as-386" file, but never a "as-386.exe" file.  I tried just renaming the file (hoping for the best) but that results in this error:
    ld: in `)Ωtm♣Z, unsupported address encoding (08) of personality function in CIE
    for architecture i386
    Compilation failed while executing : ld64
    igmake: *** [../bin/project.ipa] Error 12
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Ken

    Thanks,
    Yes I know that.
    But what I was expecting was that things which worked in AIR 3.3 beta 3 would continue to work. As in this link http://blogs.adobe.com/airodynamics/2012/05/18/using-platformsdk-for-ios-on-windows/
    In fact the Release notes that you point to state:
    Platform SDK support for iOS on Windows
    Now, a developer can copy the iOS SDK folder on a Windows® machine and use the platformsdk option of adt on Windows® too.
    adt –package –target (ipa-app-store|ipa-ad-hoc|ipa-debug|ipa-debug-interpreter|ipa-test|ipa-test-interpreter) -platformsdk
    This feature is not yet available in Flash Builder. The SDK should be copied properly, i.e. the symbolic links in the iOS SDK should be converted to actual files on Windows® , else, packaging will fail.

  • Can't get Creative Suite Builder SDK to show up

    I downloaded the Creative Suite SDK unzipped it.  I am using Flash Builder 4 on Windows but I tried on Mac too.  From the Preferences Install/Update section I clicked Add Site and pointed to the folder "CreativeSuiteSDK" that was in the contents of the .zip file and named my site "CS SDK".  It doesn't complain but I do not get CS Extension Builder to show up in Window > Perspective > Other even after restarting Flash Builder 4. If I go back into Preferences Install/Update section and click the "Test Connection" button on the "CS SDK" site I get the following error:
    "No repository found at file:/C:/Program%20Files/Adobe/CreativeSuiteSDK-1.0.0/CreativeSuiteSDK/."
    Help!
    -Scott

    After seeing Ian Paterson's presentation about developing with LCDS and Extension Builder in CS products I was excited to start learning since I have a lot of experience with LCDS, Flex, and ColdFusion as a back end server.   I Googled how to get started.  I landed on this page:
    http://cssdk.host.adobe.com/sdk/1.0/docs/WebHelp/getting_started/developing.htm
    It describes how to install the EB plugin but frequently refers to the CS SDK.  It provides no download links to either, so I Googled for the download.  I landed on this page to download the SDK.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/sdk/eula_cs5.html
    After attempting to follow the instructions in the SDK Developing guide in the first link using the bits downloaded from the second link, I ran into this "No Repository" issue which frustrated me for a while:
    http://twitpic.com/2fxfbi
    After more researching, I landed on the page that I probably should have started with:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/sdk/
    There, it lists the CS SDK side by side with the EB.  The EB appears to not be publicly available, but rather only to Adobe Partners and/or those in the "Enterprise Developer" program.  Fortunately, I can log in as a Partner, but only to be greeted with a main welcome page, and I have no idea how to find or download EB from the Partner portal.
    The point of my post here is to say that I think Adobe can do a much better job describing the differences between CS SDK and EB in all the related documentation, guides, and readme's, and where to get the download.  To those just learning the topic this seems to be an initial obstacle.  Many (all?) of the guides do not provide a clear download location for where to get either.   They refer to the download, but don't help you find it, at all, e.g. "To install the Adobe Creative Suite Extension Builder,   download the ZIP file and unzip it into a root location"
    I own Adobe Creative Suite CS 5 Master Collection.  I own Flex Builder 4 (ships with CS5 MC).  I own ColdFusion Builder.  Why don't I have clear and immediate access to obtaining the Adobe CS Extension Builder?
    Does Adobe want developers to build cool, enterprise level, distributed applications for Creative Suite or not?  Make it easier.
    Thank you.

    It only seems fitting that this post end with a sheesh.
    Sheesh!!

  • Difference between Collector Builder & SDK for Parsing

    Novice, with still much to read, but; I was on a path of setting up SDK
    (for Sentinel Classic, btw most help and posts are about RD or SLM) and
    then discovered the Collector Builder in regard to modifying the Novell
    Identity Manager collector parsing script.
    So there seems to be at least 2 ways to modify a parsing script, and
    that's where the Collector Builder seems simpler. But, difficulty here,
    instructions state start out with templates, but the interface only lets
    me create new? I have done a Debug, LiveMode, download of the stopped
    versions Novell_Identity-Manager_6.1r5 & ...r6 (a beta version we have).
    Within the collector_workspace directory I can see the content, but the
    UI for Collector Builder is not picking up any templates or importing
    any of the collector files, for the purpose of script examples in this
    interface.
    So maybe bottom line is: I would like to view the differences in the
    versions, which seem to be around the file "event.js" and others. This
    version difference parses the message field and extracts from a User
    Application Workflow event the Process ID and places that value into
    EventGroupID. Which is the unique key value of each UA Workflow start
    to finish. With this parse in place, then development of a Crystal
    Report is possible around the UA workflows, how many did each
    department do? etc. and other metrics around the UA workflows. However,
    I now need to parse additional data from this "big gob" of the Message
    field. Dont know java-script yet, so need these samples, and how to see
    them in Collector Builder.

    The Collector Builder is not something you should be using. It only works
    with the legacy collector (none of the current collectors are using that
    language anymore) and generally speaking it isn't a great tool
    (windows-only, legacy-only, crash-happy, bleh). The Sentinel SDK is for
    everything Sentinel, though most customers seem to be using Sentinel RD
    and Log Manager because they are so much easier while providing the same
    (or similar in the case of Log Manager) functionality.
    Good luck.

  • Building SDK CS6 for OSX 10.9 XCode 5

    As a fun weekend Photoshop project I thought I'd see what it took to write a Photoshop CS6 filter plugin.  So I downloaded the CS6 SDK and opened up the Dissolve sample.  Right away I see errors about not being to open Apple headers like Dialogs.h.  I found a note from "Correct" saying to comment out all of those includes.  Next I see scores of depreciated warnings for stuff unsupported by Apple for years, such as
    FSResolveAlias.  But the real killer is the fatal error: "failed to find MacTypes/MacTypes.r"
    Has Adobe updated this SDK recently so that it can compile -without altering/fixing the Adobe source files- for the current MacOS?
    -Allan
    (P.S., been developing apps, professionally, for the Mac since 1984.)

    Hi Allan
    From memory you have to set the target to 10.7 and use the 10.7 SDK.  If you're using a more recent version of xcode, then you'll need to copy the SDK from elsewhere (xcode 4)
    See: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5818042
    Hope that helps

  • Working with SWF files...

    We're working on an editor to post letter's to a blog, and we're trying to implement something that will automate the process of adding SWF's to the code. Basically what we're looking for is some way to read the width and the height of the swf while inserting it into the code. We have some Javascript that has been grabbing it, but it doesn't always grab the correct height and width.
    function InsertFlash(sFlashFile,id)
    var obj = document.getElementById(id);
    var w = obj.getAttribute('width');
    var iWidth=ReturnWidth(id);
    var iHeight = ReturnHeight(id);
    alert(iWidth + " " + iHeight);
    function ReturnWidth(movie)
         var movieObj = getFlashObj(movie);
         return movieObj.TGetProperty("/", 8);
    function ReturnHeight(movie)
         var movieObj = getFlashObj(movie);
         return movieObj.TGetProperty("/", 9);
    function getFlashObj(movie)
         try
              if (window.document[movie])
                   return window.document[movie];
              if (navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft Internet")==-1)
                   if (document.embeds && document.embeds[movie])
                        return document.embeds[movie];
              else
                                   return document.getElementById(movie);
         catch (e)
              //alert(e.description);
    Something to note would be that our SWF's are built from flash files in which the programmer for flash has found canned content and then placed what we need inside of it. But we do have one video that has controls, and basically a screen at the beginning that you press in order for it to play. When it's at this screen, we have the normal dimensions of 400x550, but once you hit play and the movie with the movie controls show up, it varies around the 2200x356 mark, the latter generally staying the same, but the 2200 will bounce around 2000 and 2300 pixels (all in pixels), so that's where we're beginning to get clustermucked. There's a swf file (which holds the correct measurements) a flv file, and another swf file with the controls.
    If anyone has run into this before or has a better solution, (using asp classic, no vb), that would be superb!! All we want is the silly dimensions... Hah!

    Connect is an AS2 applicaton, and therefore, AS3 SWFs will not work (or not work properly).
    If you want to correctly build an application to work in a Connect pod you need to follow the rules in the Collaboration builder, SDK documentation. This has not changed since Connect 6, thus the older version refference.

  • Working with .swf files in Adobe Connect

    My goal is to load custom made flash (.swf) presentations into Adobe Connect and present them to an audience (not using presenter)- however I am encountering the following issues:
    1. The sound within the .swfs will not play (sounds works fine everywhere else, and was tested via the Audio setup wizard).
    2. Many of the features within the loaded .swf do not work - sometimes causing runtime errors - does certain as3 code not work in the Adobe Connect environment?
    3. "Synchronized Navigation" in the Shared Pod option menu is grayed out - I can not synchronize flash content? How can I control the presentation?
    Thank you in advance for any guidance you can offer.

  • Automatically start recording a meeting

    Prompt and no other solution except autorecord pod to automatically start recording a meeting? via the AP can be done?

    Well the great thing about Connect is if it doesn't do what you want/need, chances are it can be customized to meet that need. I would recommend you reach out to Refineddata about their auto record pod and the possibility of modifying it to auto record upon your conditions. You can reach them at [email protected]
    Alternatively, should you want to do it yourself, you can use the Collaboration Builder SDK and build your own custom pod that does whatever you want. The SDK can be found here, Adobe Connect | Adobe Developer Connection.
    No tool can meet the needs of everyone, but only Connect can be customized to best fit the needs outside of its factory functions.

  • Project build iOS sdk

    Hi,
    I'm building my first iphone/ipad app and I have seen in tutorials saying that we should use the latest sdk to build our project and set the deployment sdk as we need(may be an older version).
    So according to this since ios 6 is available now, is that what we should use as build sdk now? at the moment I have 5 set as build sdk.
    Doesn't xcode(i'm using 4.4.1) automatically download sdk 6 or Do I need to upgrade it to ios 6 and set it as the build sdk.
    Thanks

    If you look at build settings you should notice that the word 'Latest' is used as the highest SDK available with the version of Xcode you're using. Yes, you should always set Base SDK to 'Latest'.
    However, Xcode 4.4.1 didn't come with iOS 6, so to use it as 'Latest', you'll need Xcode 4.5.
    Download it from the Mac App Store.

  • Overlay AIR 3.3 sdk for Flash Builder on Snow Leopard

    The AIR 3.3 sdk is now a DMG, used to be a .tbz2 zip file, and there is no merge capabilities with Snow Leopard..
    How can I overlay AIR 3.3 sdk for Flash Builder 4.6 on Snow Leopard 10.6.8?
    Also I may have Lion soon so can you provide steps for FB overlay of the DMG on OSX 10.7?
    Many thanks.
    PS.I am dumbfounded there is no documentation on this by Adobe release after release? For OSX users there is an old Adobe KB article that I can't find anymore, there is a youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S118mZjln3I) I recommend, and a post most mac/FB users use (http://jeffwinder.blogspot.com.au/2011/09/installing-adobe-air-3-sdk-in-flash.html) and none of them remind you to use sudo before the terminal command..

    Thanks eran1976 here is the OSX 10.6.8 process that worked for me:
    1. open the 3.3 sdk DMG and copy all the files into a new emty folder called say AIR33SDK or whatever in your sdks directory
    2. asuming your current Flash Builder sdk with air3.2 or older is called 4.6.0, open terminal and run:
    3. sudo cp -Rp /Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.6/sdks/AIR33SDK/ /Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.6/sdks/4.6.0/
    4. you can now delete AIR33SDK folder if you wish
    5. open Flash Builder and change any existing project xml application files to 3.3
    5. remember to backup your 4.6.0 folder first
