  • Value range(column chart): management cockpit

    Hi friends,
how can i put value range condition in column chart. my situation is like this
    I have 10 employees with expereinces 4.1(i.e 4 yrs 1 month),5.5, 1.2, 0.5, 3.5, 0.2, 4, 6, 7 and 8.
I want to present in column chart in x-axis like <1 yrs, 2-4,5-6,>7 and in y-axis count.
How can i achieve this. I maintained calculated keyfigues(for <1 yrs, 2-4,5-6,>7) on key figuer total experience and, in bi report i'm getting correct output. Even total experience is also calculated key figure and perfectly viewing this value in cockpit. But in managment cockpit, remaining calculated keyfigues(<1yrs,2-4,5-6,>7) i'm not getting. So i want to prefer to set value range in chart.
    pls suggest me.
    thanks,
    raju

    Hello  Raju,
You can achieve this by simply using a User defined Periodization & Time Variable.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem60ep1/helpdata/en/1b/3131375fc9342ae10000009b38f839/frameset.htm
    Defining Periodizations
    1.     To define a periodization, choose Periodization in the dialog structure.
    2.     Choose  to switch to change mode.
    3.     Choose New Entries.
    4.     In the Periodization column, enter a name for the periodization (up to four characters).
    5.     In the Fiscal Year Variant column, choose the fiscal year variant on which you want to base the periodization. (The periodization itself is based on periods of the fiscal year variants.)
    6.     In the Long Text column, enter a descriptive name for the periodization.
    7.     Save your entries and return.
    8.     In the list of periodizations, select the periodization you just created.
    9.     Choose Interval in the Dialog Structure.
    10.     Choose New Entries.
    11.     In the Interval No. column, enter a sequential number for each period to be defined, starting with "1".
    12.     Specify the left time limit (= Start column) and the right time limit (= End column) of the range by entering the respective period of the fiscal year variant on which it is based.
Eg: In your case you follow this
                   Start Column          End Column
    Period 1(<1 yrs)           1               12
    Period 2(2-4 yrs)                     13               36
    Period 3(5-6 yrs)                     37               60
Period 4(>7 yrs)          61               specify the no. of months you want to calculate for
    13.     Save your entries and return
In the Cockpit-Frame-Design screen for the mesures(KPI) on the Y-axis you select the check box of Periodization and select this User defined Periodization created by you. You click on the aggregation box too to get the cummulative value for the defioned periods.
Hope this helps. Revert incase of any query or let me know if it doesnot work as I have tried this with quarters and its working fine in my case.

  • Interactive Column Chart w/Sliding Date Range?

I've created a stacked column chart in Numbers 3.0. It displays stacked data for a one week period using seven columns, one for each weekday. Is it possible to make an interactive version of this chart that would still display all seven stacked columns, but allow me to use a slider control to adjust the date range? Ideally I'd like the slider to adjust the date range one day at a time, so I have a rolling 7 day view of my data.
    Any suggestions?

Data is the original data table.
Set Start is a four cell table with A2 set as a Slider, range 1 - 100, and the formula below in B2:
    B2: =OFFSET(Data :: $A$1,A,0)
Cell B2 is for display only. It offers live feedback to the user while setting the beginning date for the chart, but is not used in the calculations in For Chart.
For Chart is a Summary table containing the headers shown.
There is one formula in this table, entered in A2, then filled right to D2, and down to row 8:
    A2: =OFFSET(Data :: $A$1,ROW()-2+Set Start :: $A$2,COLUMN()-1)
The chart draws its information from For Chart. Here is a second chart image using the same data table. The only change is that the user has reset the slider to a larger value. The start date on this chart is the same as the last date on the one above.

  • Missing column in the column chart - is it the selector's fault?

Hi folks, thanks for bearing with me here:
I'm working on fixing some issues on a dashboard that someone else has set up (and there's no way for me to reach that person).  One of those issues is that one of the columns in a column chart does not display on the dashboard when exported.  The column chart is pulling the data from the correct cells, so the problem doesn't seem to stem from there.
I thought I got to the bottom of it when going over the scorecard.  The range used for its source data cuts off before it reaches the data for the column in the chart that doesn't show up in the exported dashboard.  However, when I adjust the range for the source data the resulting exported dashboard turns out an entirely blank column chart (even weirder, changing the source data back doesn't seem to fix this; I had to simply start back from my prior save state to reverse the blank chart).
So am I even on the right track here?  And if not, any ideas on what's keeping that column from showing up?

Thanks Ameet, I tried out the table as you said and the data for the column and the vertical progress bar were missing from there as well.
It turns out I was correct about the scorecard's source data being to blame, and that adjusting it to include the fields in the spreadsheet that correspond to the missing graphics was the right course of action, the problem was something with my computer; I sent the file to another computer and adjusted the source data there, and it worked fine.
It puzzles me why the edits wouldn't take on my computer (after being exported).  The only thing is maybe I need a newer version of Flash, but I have 9.0 r45 which should be enough.

  • How to add two X Axis in the Column chart?Need Help

    Hi,
I have a requirement to add two X axis in the SSRS column chart. Can someone please help how to add two X axis. I tried the secondary axis for horizontal axis but current x axis is shifting to other side, second X axis is not coming.
    Regards
    Jon

    Hi Jon,
According to your description, you want to add secondary X axis for one series in a column chart, right?
The secondary axis is useful when comparing two value sets with two distinct data ranges that share a common category. In Reporting Services, it’s not supported to create two X axis for one series. We can create secondary X axis when there are two series
in a column chart. As we tested in our local environment, we can add secondary X axis for specific series. Please refer to the screenshots below:
So I would like to know what’s your exact needs about creating two X axis for one series. If possible please share some detail information about your data and expected looking of the chart.
Reference: Plot Data on a Secondary Axis (Report Builder and SSRS)
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Colour by series in combination and column charts

I am trying to create combination charts and column charts where each column or line in the charts can be assigned its own colour. This can be acheived by using the "By Series" option in the properties "General" tab. However, when this approach is taken, all the columns are grouped in the middle of the chart, with large ammounts of unused space on the left and right of the columns. Usual behavior with other charting programs is that the columns start from the left hand margin. Indeed, this is the case if I choose the "By Range" option, but then all the columns are the same coluor, and individual column and line colours can not be changed. Anybody got any ideas on how to resolve this please.

    Hi Darrell,
Here's an example using COUNTIF. I've moved the count to a separate table. Table names are shown above each table:
    Formula:
    Summary::B2, and filled down to B6: =COUNTIF(Main :: $A,"<"&A3)-COUNTIF(Main :: $A,"<"&A2)
Note that A7 must contain a numberlrger than the starting number for the last category you are recording.
    B7 should be left empty.
Row 1 on each table is a Header Row.

  • Alterts for Column Charts

    Hi,
I have created a few column charts in Crystal XCelsius and have enabled value alerts so that the bars show up as different colours depending on the data. When I first assign the range for the alerts, the colours show up correctly. However, when I preview the chart, the bars are not coloured correctly-- i.e. not according to the specified range. Has anyone encountered a similar problem with alerts?
    Thanks.

I believe this issue has to do with linking an alert to a cell.  If that cell changes value, then everything seems to go to downhill.  I believe this was supposed to be fixed in SP1, but it does not appear to be.  I have a gauge with a value, a maximum limit, and an alert range that are all linked to dynamic cells, and the values change, but the needle never moves.
As an example, the lower limit is 0, the upper limit is 10, the value is 5, so the needle points straight.  The user does something to change the value to 2, and the lower limit stays at 0, and the upper limit stays at 10, and the value label changes to 2, but the needle still points up and down.

  • Colums aren't displayed in column chart

    Hello,
I have a problem with Xcelsius. It's not displaying the columns of my column chart in the preview and in the excel-export. The legend is being displayed.
    Thx for answering,
    Simon

    Hi Simon,
There are n number of reasons for this.
    1. There might be no DATA provided
    2. The data provided might have huge variance like 10000,2,3,
    3. The bar color might have got set to the same color of background. etc.,.
    To set everything back.
Create a fresh chart with good sample data then change the value range of chart.
Ensure that in the Properties of chart-> Behaviour tab-> Scale -> Manual scaling is NOT selected.  Let it be automatic.
Please revert in case this doesnt work.
    With best wishes

  • How to scale data in column chart?

    Hi,
I have a column chart who's data ranges from 638 to 4,263,000. Due to this extreme range, the lower valued columns are hardly visible
Is there a way by which I can scale up the lower values or scale down the higher values, ultimately resulting in a chart with visible columns to the naked eye. Here's the screen shot for your reference:

    Appreciate you help...
    -Deepak

    Hello,
Thank you so much for that hint   That one prompted me to use a PlotSeries instead of a ColumnSeries. And PlotSeries clearly shows up all the items, irrespective of how low or how high the value is. Looking at it, the user can drill down further, by clicking on that item.

  • Stacked Column Chart drill down

I have a stacked column chart. Data is dynamic. Sometimes one column will have 0 as value.
I need to do a drill down on the ones which has value. In order to do a drill down everytime, I don't want my drill down to be tied to a specific serie...
    How can I do that?
    Thanks,
    Wen

    Hi Wen:
Let me do a quick demo to you so you can learn how drill down for stacked column chart works
    1. Create a new stacked column chart.
    2. Choose data binding "By Range" and "Data In Columns" binds to range "A1~C2", which has range data as following:
    a, 1, 2
    b, 3, 4
    3. After finishing step 2, there will be two series created (Series 1, and Series 2)
    4. Open drill down tab and check "Enable Drill Down".
    5. Choose "Insert Type" as "Row".
    6. Click "Series 1".
    7. Bind "Source Data" to range "D1~E2" which contains value as following:
    11,12
    13,14
(these are the drill down value you want to insert)
    8. Bind "Destination" to "D3~D4" (empty cells)
    9. Create another component "Grid" under "Other" folder.
    10. Bind grid data to "D3~D4" to present the drill down data.
    11. Preview the xlf file, can click values in series 1, you will see the drill down result. (Grid will be refreshed with new drill down data)
Hope the demo above can help you in your practice, also you can refer to help documents for more information. Let me know if you have any other questions!
    Thanks!

  • 100% Stacked Column Chart

    Hi,
We have a requirement where we have to represent data in 100% stacked column chart, the value on y-axis is the % value and the value on the column is the actual value (like # ).
    For suppose data is like
          Actual data      % values
    A     20    80          20%   80%
    B    100   100        50%  50%
    C     120    40         75% 25%
Can any one plz suggest me the way to represent in xcelsius as a 100% stacked column chart.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I think it's impossible to bind the series of a Stacked Column Chart to the percentage (20% 80%) while displaying the actual values on mouse-over in Xcelsius 2008. Is this what you want?
My suggestion is to use a Single Value component such as a Gauge or a Label to display the actual value on mouse over, to simulate the same effect as you want. To do this, set Interaction Option of the Stacked chart to Insert On Mouse Over, and for each series, insert the actual value to a cell in the embedded spreadsheet. Your sample data has 2 series, so they insert to 2 cells in the spreadsheet, as you cannot insert the actual value of 2 series into the same cell.
The Gauge is used to display the actual value of the currently mouse-over item. For this, you need 2 History component to track the change of either of the 2 cells, and insert to the same range. The Gauge then can be bound to the last cell of the Data Destination of the History components.
I have tried it out and if you want, I can send the source file to you.
    Thanks,
    Ray

  • Using Column Chart (Need Flexibility)

    Dear Gurus:
I am using Column chart in SAP Dashboard. I am having 4 series. Issue is when using series the columns merge with each other while if we use it by range there is margin between columns. My question is it possible to use column chart showing margin between columns using with series? Kindly see the attached pics. The issue with using range is I want to have different colors for my series.

  • Multi Series in Starked Column chart

    Hi all
I want to designa dashboard to show revenue by years and by detail divisions.
I have 3 years (YTD, last year and last 2-years) and 2 divisions (Production and Services). In Production, have 2 products and In Services have 3 services.
The detail of requirement as below link.
    http://www.fusioncharts.com/docs/DataFormats/XML/MSStacked.html
I try using starked Column Chart but I can't work for multi series in column.
Who can help me the solution for this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Sorry to jump in.  But to give an idea of the data layout needed it is as follows:
                            Col A        Col B            Col C                Col D               Col E               Col F
    Row 1         Year      Service 1      Service 2      Service 3      Product 1      Product 2
    Row 2         2009       £100            £150                 £120
    Row 3                                                                                £200                 £250
    Row 4
    Row 5         2010       £100            £150                 £120
    Row 6                                                                                £200                 £250
    Row 7
    Row 8         2010       £100            £150                 £120
    Row 9                                                                                £200                 £250
The Row / Col refer to excel rows and columns for ease in explaining.  Rows 4 and 7 are deliberately blank to create a gap between the columns for each year.
You can then bind the chart data to the range B1:F9 and make sure that it is set to Data in Columns.
Then set the X axis labels click on the "By Series" radio button and bind the "Category Labels(X):" to the range A2:A9.
As the X axis labels will appear directly under the first column you may wish to add some superfluous spaces in front of the year title to shift the label to the right and appear under the middle of both columns.
    Hope that all makes sense,
    Paul
