Column position of cursor
One of the nice features of Homesite is that you can in
addition to dsiplaying line numbers, you could click anywhere in
your code (or text file) and the lower left of the screen will tell
you the column position of your cursor. This is handy when parsing
text files and debugging javascript code that gives you both a line
number and column position of the error. I have line numbers turned
on in Dreamweaver but is there a way to determine the column
position of the cursor (how many characters into the line)?
No. But you can request that it be added -

Is there a way to have Dreamweaver 8 display the current
column position of the cursor? When I'm doing comment separators or
keeping track of line lengths I copy the line into TextPad to
determine the length of the line, and then pasting it back into
Dreamweaver 8. Am I missing something here?
Thanks!I know this is bad netiquette, but did you ever get a reply
to your question? (presumably not here!

Identify columns after fetching cursor
Hi,
I have a scenario in which iam reading the columns into a cursor and during fetch I want to apply some condition against each column in the cursor.
Eg:
curcor c1 is Select col1,col2,col3 from test;
rec1 c1%rowtype;
begin
open c1;
loop
fetch c1 into rec1;
exit when c1%NOTFOUND;
if rec1.col1=1234
Here instead of using column name can I know that this is the first column in the cursor and apply multiple validations and similarly to next column and so on.
Regards
SatyaIf you want to reference columns by position then you either need to be using a ref cursor via a 3rd party developement language like .NET etc. or you need to use the DBMS_SQL package within PL/SQL.
Example of using DBMS_SQL package (from my standard library of examples - in this case something that takes a query and outputs the data as CSV)...
As sys user:
CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY TEST_DIR AS '\tmp\myfiles'
GRANT READ, WRITE ON DIRECTORY TEST_DIR TO myuser

How to position the cursor in a text
I there a better way to position the cursor in a text portion other than trying it several times until the OS picks the right space? I know the iPad has a good way to do it by zooming in.
Or is RIM working on it.....I've been pretty successful at getting the cursor to hit where I want in text entry boxes.
Maybe some more practice will make perfect. Worked for me, until I got used to,and then again maybe my using a touchscreen smartphone, the process just comes second nature for me.

Changing the column position & width using Screen Variant..
Hi Experts,
Iam trying to change the column position and width for the standard transaction (eg. FB60 or VA02) using the transaction code SHD0 (Transaction and Screen Variant).
Iam able to create and save the transaction and screen variant and i could see the check box options for table control like
a. Auto Column Position
b. Auto Column Width
I tried checking and unchecking both the check boxes but iam unable to modify / maintain the column position and width.
Please guide me in changing the column position and width.
Thanks in Advance.Hi Mudit,

Is there anyone there? I hope there is someone who can you understand this problem and have the common sense to respond?
I open gmail. I want to save an email to one of my folders.
I position my cursor over the appropriate Folder icon or by choice, to the Trash.
The friendly finger pointing cursor icon changes to an arrow icon.
The hand icon allows me flawless access to opening and/or moving emails.
The arrow, however does not open the link.
On the Google menu bar the cursor hand with finger opens the links to Everett (my name), Search, Images, Maps and Play.
When I attempt to open the remaining links in the menu bar (YouTube, News, Gmail, Drive, Calendar and More) the arrow icon replaces the hand. The arrow icon does not work. It will not activate these links. Nor does it open email messages in the Inbox.
Usually I reset, even reboot Safire and sometimes the problem goes away, then reappears.
Can you imagine if this condition should it happen to a tech savvy Google Support person? Perhaps one can share and make my problem go away.
I am considering dropping Google as my mail source. Unfortunate!

718.490.3824I have uninstalled my Access Connection, but this problem seems to persist. IBM technician have changed the wireless card of my T60, the first few days after it was changed was very fine, no problem at all. About a week later, the problem occured again, and it happened quite frequently after that occurence. Now i really have no idea what is the cause and how to solve it. Will be greatful if there is anyone that can help me.

How to position the cursor at the end of the text with EDIT_TEXT?
Hello, it wanted to ask to them if somebody could make work the module of function EDIT_TEXT so that it positions the cursor at the end of the text that is visualizing in the text editor. In the documentation it says that passing a ' X' to him in the field scrollend of the parameter Control is obtained that operation. Nevertheless, I did this and the cursor continues appearing at the beginning of the text that visualizes.
Somebody could help me please?
Regards,
Gabriel

I believe that you have mis-read Gabriel's problem.
Gabriel,
The cursor is not positioning at the base of the editor as you have cited.
In order to get this functionality to work, you must set the LINE_EDITOR import paramter to 'X'.

Why is my BDC_CURSOR command not working to position the cursor?
Why is my BDC_CURSOR command not working to position the cursor? Here are the details regarding my issue.
I am writing a BDC to mass delete routing material assignments using transaction CA02. I am OK to navigate through the initial screen to go to the Header screen and from here I am OK to navigate to the Material Assignments screen. But once here, I cannot get the BDC_CURSOR command to take me into the list. Here are the commands I am using. Please let me know what I may try differently.
CA02 Material Assignment - Set position <-- this resets list of materials to correct position
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR' 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE' '=ENT1'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT' c_position.
CA02 Material Assignment - Delete
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR' 'MAPL-MATNR(01)'. <-- this is not working to set the cursor into the list
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE' '=LOE'. " trash can
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT' c_position.
CA02 Material Assignment - Green Check OK
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR' 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE' '=BACK'. " check mark
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT' c_position.Thank you for your reply.
I had used SM35 to record. However, I was not aware of the "create program" feature. I had commented out a section from my previous post which I have now added back (latest code below). But it still did not resolve the issue.
When I execute with dismode = 'N', I get back error message "No batch input data for screen SAPLCZDI 1010".
When I execute with dismode = 'E' (only show dynpros when error), it stops at the material selection screen without placing my cursor in the list. I can then MANUALLY click to set the cursor position in the list, MANUALLY click the trashcan, it then uses my BDC command to respond to the popup asking "Do you want to delete", still leaving me at the material selection screen. I can then MANUALLY click the green check (or enter), then it continues with the BDC to go back to the previous screen, and saves. But it still will not place my cursor in the material selection list (SAPLCZDI screen 1010).
Here is code used. It is the second section of code labeled "CA02 Material Assignment - Delete" that is not working.
CA02 Material Assignment - Set position
this code functions to position the desired material to first in screen list
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR'
'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE'
'=ENT1'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'
c_position.
CA02 Material Assignment - Delete
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR'
'MAPL-MATNR(01)'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE'
'=LOE'. " trash can
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'
c_position.
Acknowledge Pop-Up Screen
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLSPO1' '0100'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE'
'=YES'.
CA02 Material Assignment - Green Check OK
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR'
'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE'
'=BACK'. " check mark
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'

Line Item Display Variant MIRO-column position needs to be changed..
Hi,
What is the possible way of setting the column position in line item display variant in MIRO screen.
I need to change the positions of couple of columns so need to have one layout as per my requirement.
Does this involve only confiuration or it also needs ABAP changes?
Request to suggest in detail if any one has done it already.
Thanks in advance.
Reagrds,
BMHi Charlie,
Thanks for this help.However I have couple of doubts.
When I save the new variant it asks me for package or local object.
Cutrrently I have selected n saved as local object but what is the real time scenarion.Do we need to select any package on this screen.I am not aware of these things in detail so nwant to know the difference between a local object and a package and is it functional consultant's task to do this or developers should do this since they can select the package
Please advise on this.
Thanks in advance.

Position the cursor at the top of the JTextArea?
How do you position the cursor or document at the top of the JTextArea. When I set the JTextArea to some text that exceeds the JTextArea ScrollPane it scrolls to the bottom of the document. How do you position the document to the top of the JTextArea?
thanks,

How to position the cursor in File Name area in JFileChooser??
Hi,
I have been trying to position the cursor directly to filename area in JFileChooser. But no success.
It positions itself at the directory path by default.
How should I achieve this?
The problem is that I do not know the name of this
component used for File Name area hence difficult to
use "requestFocus() or getFocus()" like methods.
Thanks for your help.
-ManojSomewhere I saw a tip that explained how to do it, but I didn't keep a link to it. But basically it's like this: JFileChooser is a Container, so getComponent(n) will return the n-th component in the JFileChooser. One of them is the one you want to give the focus to, and I expect it will be a JTextField. A little experimentation should tell you which index you need to use.
