Comcast won't give me my refund after multiple calls over a 2 year period

I am asking for any recommendations anyone here has.  I left comcast when I moved despite comcast being in my new location and being cheaper and faster than the alternative; I just couldn't deal with them anymore. Comcast was billing me for a modem rental despite me supplying my own modem and never renting one from them.  I called the first month they over charged me, then the next month, then a couple times the months after and then once the next year. I was always assured it would be changed and credited, yet it never happened.  I was not able to go to a customer building because my school kept me busy during their open hours and well school > comcast. When I closed my account they told me they could only do a 6 month credit but I could file a claim for the full amount of $195.  I gave them everything they wanted in the claim and never heard a response from them and when I called back they just told me the ticket was closed.  A lovely lady named Lisa gave me a number for comcast listens  (877 405 4783) tell me they would listen to my case and they can make desicions above anyone else I can talk to on the phone or in person.  However, this number is only for employees and they told me to call 1-800-COMCAST. I do not know what to do next, I want the money they owe me, but even more it's about morals and not letting comcast stomp on their customers.  I was told it is my legal responsibility to keep calling until it got resolved and since I did not continue to call every month that they do not legally owe me the full amount. What do I do next?

Verizon required me to place a deposit on my account saying I'd get it back within 6 months of service. It's been over two years and I still haven't be given it back. I've called and can't get an honest response; I get transferred to different departments who say different things. I contacted the BBB about this and Verizon said that unless my payment history is crystal perfect including advance payments they don't have to return it. I found out this information after complaining to the BBB, if this was their policy they never told me about it. I'd switch to a different provider but I doubt I'd get my deposit back because Verizon is basically holding it hostage so I stay with them. I wouldn't doubt that the "positive" feedback you're getting is in fact Verizon moonlighting as actual customers who are giddy about Verizon.
Verizon did to a family member when we switched to "friends and family" what they are doing to you. Verizon overdrew over $500 bucks from the initial payment after the service was set up. They never gave it back and only sent rebates that didn't equal what they withdrew. This was of course acting ignorant to what they did. I love the fact that they say that those who make the decisions to remedy their mistakes which Verizon will never admit to are in fact, people you can't reach in anyway whatsoever. It's like some kind of hidden death panel if it even exists.

    Try incrementing a counter every time you call the function
    and decrementing
    it on the way out. When you hit 2640 times, stop calling it.

  • Excel export gives csv file occasionally after multiple exports

    Hi experts!!
    I have the following problem.
    After several exports to excel from the web UI the file format turns to csv, even though the user runs MS office 2007.
    I found 2 notes describing  the issue but these are for other releases and cannot be implemented.
    (I am working on CRM 2007)
    Any ideas????

    for investigating this problem a short introduction to the Excel-Export function is helpful.
    On serverside JavaScript tailored for interaction with the current Table is generated. This code is invoked on the client machine and tries interfacing with Excel via ActiveX-Controls. In a third step the data is requested from the Application Server, this request is processed in the handler class CL_CHTMLB_CONFIG_TAB_EXCEL_EXP.
    I guess that the problem is caused by the JavaScript code executed on the client machen. There is a fallback, if no ActiveX-Control could be initialized a csv-File is requested from the server.
    I would try some JavaScript debugging, the function thtmlbExcelExport in library scripts.js would be a good entry point.

  • Problems: undoes sleep, and won't give up

    Folks:
    A few days ago, I connected a new Seagate 1.5TB drive (USB2), accepted an offer to format the drive, and enabled TM. (Or was it vice-versa? I don't recall.)
    First Problem: Something undoes sleep
    Since then, when I use Apple Menu "Sleep" the system goes to sleep, and that wakes up a few seconds later. Always. This cannot be good for the system, and it isn't good for my electricity bill.
    Is this waking due to enabling TM and/or attaching the Seagate drive? It seems likely, as it started happen just after I enabled TM, and I am certain I have done nothing else to the system that should affect sleep. About "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" in the Energy Saver Control Panel: I routinely leave this ENABLED. I've tried both settings since I enabled TM. No difference.
    I routinely leave the Energy Saver "Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for" setting to 15 or so minutes. Since the computer was not been asleep any morning when I start work since I enabled TM, I assume this route to sleep also fails.
    Q1: How to restore sound sleep on my system?
    Second issue: Won't give up.
    At the moment, the TM monitor icon at the upper right of my screen is circling. It's been circling for at least 15 minutes. Before that I noticed that TM had started a backup. I checked: it was going to back up only 552 KB, which seemed reasonable -- I haven't been doing very much so far this morning. I checked minutes later. No sign of progress. I checked a few minutes later, no progress, so I clicked on the 'x' to abort the backup. Now the top entry on the TM monitor pulldown has been reading "Stopping Backup" for at least 5 minutes.
    What to do? TM won't be able to do the next hourly backup if it's still trying to abort the previous one. I tried disabling TM in its Control Panel. It's now off, and yet both the Control Panel and monitor say it's back to trying to backup 552KB ... again.
    I'll try dismounting and remounting the external drive. If that fails, I'll restart the system. But, of course, neither of these should be necessary.
    BTW, strangely, the full TM menu says the last backup was at 3:10 AM, almost 7 hours ago. Since I didn't try to put the system to sleep last night at about 10pm, and it wasn't asleep when I arrived ... why 3:10? Maybe that's when the Unix cron-timed daily maintenance was done?
    By the way, the USB drive IS alive and working. I opened it, found a random file from one of the backed-up folders, and copied it to my internal drive, no problem.
    Q2: How to definitively abort a backup?
    Q3: How to avoid hung backups in the future?

    1. Exclude your TM disk from any anti-virus scanning.
    None running.
    2. Exclude it from Spotlight (System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy)
    Done! The next hourly scan was running so I aborted it by unmounting and remounting the external disk. When I remounted, TM appeared to be in a consistent, "happy" state. So I chose "Back Up Now" and the backup ran without apparent problem.
    So far, so good, Excluding seems to have helped. I'll post back if anything different happens at the next hourly backup, or overnight.
    3. Until you resolve this, leave the Put the hard drive(s) to sleep . . .

    My system still won't stay asleep for more than a few seconds.
    How is your USB disk attached to your Mac (direct or via USB hub;
    port on back or keyboard)?
    Directly to the back of the machine. My Mac did not seem to like for it to be connected though my external hub -- it complained about not enough power and shut down the hub. That seems strange, because both the drive and the hub are powered separately by wall-warts. But that's not an issue now.
    There may be some clues in your logs. Download the Time Machine Buddy widget

    I'll just use the standard log interface... It shows some nice messages for successful TM backups. Two messages seem to correlate with TM hangs. Here they are:

    I googled around about "Indexing a file failed" in connection with TM, but I didn't find anything that useful.
    You did this via the Finder? For experimenting, that's ok, but normally to
    restore a file/folder from your backups, use the TM interface Enter Time
    Machine. Using the Finder can result in permissions problems with the copied
    files. Also be very careful not to use the Finder to change, move, or delete
    anything in those backups...
    Thanks for the warning. I figured as much. I just located a small file on the TM disk and made a copy of it on my internal drive. Simply copying a file from the TM backup directories should not be a problem. If it is, that would indicate TM is a lot less stable than it should be.
    By the way, my profile is wrong. I'm running 10.5.6, fully updated.

    First of all, rule out a network problem:
    Run a speed test via Safari. You can use http://www.speedtest.net  
    In order for your emails to load within a few seconds, you'll need an internet connection of 1MB p/s or faster. Anything slower than that may cause the connection to the email server to time out.
    If your connection checks out, try setting up your email address in a new user account. Sign out, and then sign into Guest. Set up your email there. If it's still slow, then you'll need to test on another computer.
    Testing on a Phone or Tablet won't give accurate results, as they use different methods of accessing your email server.
    If after tesitng on another computer, the connection is slow, make a back up of your emails and as your provider to clear your inbox on the server end. This will remove emails from your inbox if it's an IMAP account, or they won't be downloadable if it's a POP account.
    After they've confirmed that's been done, try sending yourself a test email. Monitor the reaction time.
    If all else fails, yell at your ISP

  • Refund after 78 days of dropping connections

    Today I had a talk with BT billing, as they again did not give me a prommised callback.
    I had 78 days of continious dropping connections (as soon as you start using it it was dropping direct)
    it tool them 78 days to find out that there was a probleem with the cabeling underground
    every time they day you are getting refunded after the problem is solved (and i bravely payed my bills)
    now the time is that the lines do not drop again, thair answer is.
    out terms and conditions say that intermitting connections are not refunded.
    and i can do with that.
    2.5 months not able to use the internet, and having to use my mobile if i wanted to do something(pay as you go), and now they don't refund anything of the broadband costs (i pay 25 on broadband costs a month)
    Continious stress when calling them, every time it was the same procedure and they wanted to ask me all the questions again, and again and again..
    this little joke of them cost me a lot of money as i depend on internet for income (remote support)
    they charged me
    130 new line costs for a line which was there already (and engineers confirmed there was no work done at the exchange (BT said they are not allowed to discuss that with me)
    40 monthly line and broadband costs (so 100 in this period)
    they disconnected me because after 45 days of still not a functional line i refused to pay them before they did fix this. so they disconnect you and charge you 12 pound reconnection fee, and 7.50 late payment
    and they charged me 6.95 for sending me a new modem because they did think we have done everything so it must be the modem
    that makes way more then 250 pound payed for a line what worked 2.5 months to late
    what will they refund, some of the line costs 17.26 and 26 pound
    (another thing i am now waiting for is that my upstream is 443.9 what is much less the possible in training period, but that is already requested at the care team, so lets hope that they can take care of this)
    But what can I do to convince BT that 50 or more reconnections (what takes an avarage of 3 minutes each, and sometimes only have 1 minute of online time in between) that this should not be seen as an line with some interuptions  to what they refer in the terms and conditions.

  • My WRT110 Wireless router won't give me a connection to my DSL internet.

    I am setting up a home network that includes 2 laptops, 1 DSl modem, 1 wireless (WRT110) router, and 1 printer. The DSl internet is brand new as well and i just got it working as far as for connecting to the internet using a ethernet cord. My next step was to add the wireless router into the mix and allow the laptops to go wireless. I complete the WRT110 wireless router setup wizard and it finishes with it saying i have complete. However, it won't give me the internet signal to where i can connect to the internet (i am still using all 1394 cords and haven't attempted to go wireless yet, figured i should get the connection working before i try to connect wireless). All the lights on the DSL modem are green and its acting like i have a good connection. All the lights on my new router are green (well blue since it is the new kind of router) but still no connection. On a side note, since the wizard was complete i just took a shot in the dark and tried to connect going wireless and both laptops recognize the wireless router and can get a perfect signlal from it. However, when i try and connect to the network it sets there for a long time trying to "aquire network address" then wont connect. I would appreciate any guidance anyone can give me. Thank you

    I just moved into a house where they have a router at one end of the house and I live down stairs at the other end of the house.  I have my own ruoter so I hooked it up and I had a wireless connection but no internet.  I have spent the last 3 days reading blogs on connecting 2 routers.  Today I hit upon yours and you gave the IP address to get into the links page settings for the router.  Every page tells you how to do what you say but non of them gave the IP address.  Again THANK YOU FOR BEING SO KIND TO US NEWBE'S.  Yes I was shouting that.  I wish everyone would give answers not as though they are talking to someone knows what they are doing but spell it out as if we know nothing cause you never know who may be reading it in the feture.
    Any how I now have internet on both routers Now my question is cause it's still a low connection.  Is there a way to have one wireless router pick up a signle without a cat 6 cable?
    I have my landlords Comcast Internet going to his WRT54G router.  
    His Router is routed with a 50' cat 9 cable to my WRT54G by the main door upstairs they are about 20' apart would like to move my ruoter down stairs, but the landlord does not want me to string wire downstiars from his router.  
    Where my question comes in can I connect one WRT54G wirelessly to the other?
    I know simple answer is no!
    But do you have a Hard answer of YES?  I hope so!

    Lenovo G560 - Issue with won't boot and black screen after HDD upgrade.
     What happen: My laptop was working fine, no blue screen issue, no funny business at all. I bought a new SSD Intel 120 GB and thought it would be a good idea to replace the HDD. I shutdown and disconnected the power adapter, waited a couple of minutes and removed the battery. I opened up the back case and replaced the HDD. And put all the screws back and put the battery back in.
    Problem: The very first time I turned the power on, nothing happens besides a black screen. I pressed the dvd drive it works and opens up and closes. I waited for about 30 mins and still has blac screen. When I mean black screen, no bios menu, no logo, just a black screen with the fan sound on.
    I have tried these:
    1. Unplugged everything - battery, adapter, and pressed the power on button for about 60 seconds, nothing, the laptop turns on with the LED display on for both on and battery LED's. But nothing but black screen, no sound of windows loading just the fan and black screen.
    2. I tried putting back my old 2.5" and nothing but black screen.
    Thoughts and suggestions?

     As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system not booting in your Lenovo G560 laptop.
    As you have mentioned that the system not booting, please try to remove the RAM and  turn on the system and check if you can hear any beep sound. Also try to clean the RAM slots and check for the issue.

    Go to Store > View My Account > Edit Purchase Info. Then just click "No credit card" and hit Okay, and it will remove all of the info. Good luck.

    I tried the same but it did not worked. But, i got a solution. I accessed gmail on my laptop. Went to gmail settings. There is a option to add a device. A iPhone was already listed. I clicked Revoke to remove it. Then i clicked add new device and gave it iPhone name and a new 16-20 character password was geenrated. I used it to configure gmail on my Iphone and it worked beautifully. So glad i have been able to fix this. That password is a one time password to authenticate that device.

  • Will they ever give me an update after 24 hours

    I put my order 24th July, they gave me an estimate date on 12th, Aug for activation. but nothing happened on 12th, Aug. So I phoned BT customer service, they helped to have a check and said there was some issue with Exchange and they would work on it, then they asked me to call back after 24hours.
    I called them today, a not very friendly customer service staff asked me to explain all the story, and she said, I will have a check, just after one minute, she told me, sorry, we have some problem with the system and we couldn't give you any update unitl Monday, it's just the date they will give me an update.
    My doubt is whether they can give me an update then, they don't even send out an email to tell you what happend, everything you need to find out yourself and wait for 10 to 20 mins to get the perfect anwser. "we will give you an update after 24 hours"

  • IMac won't allow me to login after few hours

    Hi everyone...
    My iMac won't allow me to login after few hours. Actually I had a limited broadband connection which is free from 2AM to 8AM. So I have scheduled some downloads to start at 2AM and end at 8AM. Before going to bed, I just put on the screen saver. When I wake early in the morning and move my mouse.. blank screen turns on and colorful spinning wheel appears, but log-in window doesn't appear. This has happened thrice till now. Day before yesterday it was fine. But yesterday and today I got the same problem. Previously also it was working fine. I can't figure out why it is behaving like this...
    Initially, in Power save options, I scheduled iMac to wake up at 2AM and sleep at 8AM and then used to put iMac to sleep before going to bed. It was working fine and did the same thing for more than a month. Now I have removed wakeup & sleep scheduled options from Power save options.
    Following are the settings/options selected:
    1. In energy save options, I have selected the option not to put iMac to sleep when it is inactive for certain time.
    2. Put hard-disks to sleep whenever possible is checked.
    3. I have scheduled the downloads in Azureus, Transmission and Speed download 5.
    Following are the temps and rpms:

    Airport Card: 151 F
    Ambient: 83 F
    GPU: 133 F
    GPU Diode: 137 F

    One more thing, recently I have reset the SMU because it is taking too long to boot up. To my surprise, after restarting, fan (not sure which one) started to make bigger sounds. I then had to reset SMU two times and only then fan started to spin normally without any noise. I'm scared & worried...
    Someone please help me where I went wrong.... what can I do to solve this problem..

    Hello and sorry. First, if you reset the SMU. make sure you do not hold the power button down while reconnecting the cable or it will reset the SMC incorrectly.
    When you say you are logging in, are you logging onto the internet, or onto the computer/user account?
    If it is intermittent than it sounds like your internet and that would be best handled by your internet provider first.

    If it is your internet you are referring to than try going to the Apple in the top left corner and clicking on it.
    Than click on the System Preferences
    Then click on Network
    Then click on Assist Me.
    Then Assistant
    Maybe call it Test Location
