Command Line Export/Import for ApEx

Hi There,
I was wondering if there is an ApEx Utility that allows the Export and Import of applications/pages/images/style sheets etc from the command line on a Linux box.
I am using Oracle Application Express v3.0.1

In short, you can use APEX utility - APEXExport to export and standard SQL to import.

To import using SQL*Plus you are limited to installing an application as the original application ID and into the original workspace (both being the IDs contained in the file itself in various places). You can connect as any schema assigned to the workspace so long as that schema is not also assigned to other workspaces. If it is, you can connect as SYS, SYSTEM, or the FLOWS_xxxxxx schema, options that should be reserved as a last resort because of the undesirability of connecting as these privileged accounts.

Export / Import of Apex Data

Hello,
We are planning to move our Oracle databases from Windows Servers to Linux ones. In a test lab, we have successfully exported all data from an Oracle DB instance on Windows and imported that data on an Oracle DB instance on Linux (with the old export/import Oracle tool)
But in fact...it was all data except Apex data. The complete Apex environment is available on our new Linux server but no trace of all our workspaces and applications. The only available workspace is Internal.
We do not want to export / import all workspaces, applications, images and files one by one (by hand on the Apex environment).
- Is there a particular method to follow to include the Apex data in the export / import process ?
OR
- Is there a trick or a utility program that can automate the export / import of Apex data ?

There is an Apex utility (it's called ApexExport) that can be setup to run workspace, application and page exports. It's a Java based utility and sometimes can be a little maddening to get configured to run but it will do the job once you get it configured. The utility will be on the database machine in the Apex installation directory. There is pretty good documentation available from Oracle but John Scott blogged about it here http://jes.blogs.shellprompt.net/2006/12/12/backing-up-your-applications/ as well.

Parallel export/Import for exchange directory

Hi,
We have executed the homogeneous system copy(Win08/Ora 11) on ECC6 EHP4 and in order to speed up the process i have selected the parallel export/Import option on target system as export on source system is been executing by some other vendor.
During Import abap phase it's displaying as" waiting -- mins for packahe data in exhange directory" as i have provided the path during input phase of "communication parameters for Import" in Exchange directory as <export directory>/Data.
is this correct path and i have read some where that <TABART>.SQL will be generated if on source system the same parallel expot/import option has enabled.And i couldn't find *.SQL files on export directory.
Does it mean that guy who is executing on source system has not consider this option/not generated the SQl file with SMIGR_CREATE_DDL ?
NB: i am executing import with SAPINST

Kindly check in the export directory path, whether <package>.SGN files been generating or not .
Also, we can check in exportmonitor.log.After export of individual pacakge, log says package transfered to network share directory.Even if it not merntions in log, parallel exp/imp not possible
If it generates, parallel import will happen;If not, it will not.
Its nothing to do with SQL files.

MS SSIS command line call "Argument for option 'set' is not valid"

I'm tring to execute a SSIS package from command line. Here's the code:
dtexec.exe /file "E:\TestIS\IntegrationServicesProject1\IntegrationServicesProject1\Package.dtsx" /set \Package.Variables[User::Name].Properties[Value];20150314
and it return a error saying "Argument for option 'set' is not valid". I've configure the package and generated a XML file. And do exactly as the official doc says. However, this line of code just doesn't work. If I delete the set option
and run the package alone, it can be ran. So anyone can help me out? Thank you in advance.

In SQL Server Integration Services, string literals must be enclosed in quotation marks. The expression language provides a set of escape sequences for commonly escaped characters such as nonprinting characters and quotation marks. A string literal consists
of zero or more characters surrounded by quotation marks. If a string contains quotation marks, these must be escaped in order for the expression to parse. For more details, please see:

Command line installation options for Ironport Email Security Plug-in

We're getting ready to implement email encryption with our C160. I want to deploy the Outlook plug-in to my users using SCCM. According to the administrator guide I should be able to do this however I have downloaded the current version of the plug-in and it doesn't seem to support the command line options described in the administrator guide. Specifically the /f1 switch (page 3-17 of admin guide) used to pass the setup.iss file doesn't work. This command is then referenced to be used for the distribution package in SCCM. I'm trying to use CiscoEmailSecurity-7-1-1-002.exe.
Am I missing something? Or has something changed in the deployment method? Thanks for your help.

Export-Import for LSMW

HI, Please let me know how to export the project-subproject-object from one devlopment server to qulity server, IN qulity server we have to import the same objects. please let me know the procedure

Dear All,
I have got few LSMWs created in my Dev System and also in SND systems.
Earlier I used the Export-Import mechanism for moving them to Q & P.
However I am facing issues now.
When I try to export the LSMW it opens me windows dialog box with C: drive but instead of showing me Save button,it shows me open button for click.
When I press that it does not do anything.If I select some other location and click this open button LSMW gets exported in file with the message mapping and rules exported successfully..
Now when I try to import the LSMW in another server, it does not import it & gives me error 'No importable information can be found in the file.'
Am I missing anything here ?
I have already done import export successfully couple of times in the past but why I am getting this error ?
Also, why cant I see Save button while exporting to hard drive and why it does not get exported to C: drive which appears default ?
Request you to suggest please.

Best practice metadata export/import for WebCenter portal

I'm using JDeveloper to build the WebCenter portal. When I let's say register a portlet producer along with my portal, the information about it is stored in the metadata. In case I want to move my portal from the integrated WLS which JDeveloper provides to another WebLogic server with WebCenter installation - steps which I need to do are:
1) Export the metadata from JDeveloper
2) Import metadata to my target Weblogic server
3) deploy the application
Am I missing something?
To export/import metadata from JDeveloper to another Weblogic (equipped with WebCenter) server I should use the WLST script, right?

I am facing a strange case, after migrate the developments that call the EPMA Batch Client uding ODI 11.1.1.7 to the test environment. I have various package that load data on the table interfaces
and in a next step call the epma batch client.
However when I execute the package, the log file is wrote. However the new customers are not loaded. But If I execute the command (Step on package) that call the epma batch client the log also
is wrote and the member is loaded.
Any suggestion about what can be happening and how I can solved.

Command line export, using citrix

Running the following script to export a workbook to csv file.
dis51usr.exe /connect xxx/xxx@SID /apps_user /apps_responsibility "XXX GL Inquiry" /opendb "GL_Headers" /sheet 1 /export csv "C:\Discoverer_ScheduledWorkbooks\gl_headers.csv" /batch /logfile NUL
The command works fine when directly logged on to the citrix box as user xxx. When run as a scheduled task, in the background, the settings for max number of rows is being ignored and only 10,000 rows are being retrieved/exported. The scheduled task is set to run as user xxx and is running, just the export is stopping at 10,000 rows. The user xxx is set in the Query Governor to not have a row limit (the box is not checked)
I suspect this has to do with the user not being directly logged on and the incorrect registry settings/preferences being used.
Any ideas? suggestions?

In order to get Discoverer Desktop to work on Citrix someone, presumably your administrator, has to do the initial install. That initial installed would have been done on a Microsoft Server of some sort. This is where the default registry settings are.
From this point on, whenever a user clicks on the Discoverer icon they don't run their own version of Discoverer but a copy of the Discoverer from the Citrix server. As a launch point the registry settings from the server are used as the launch point but overwritten with the user's personalized settings if and only if you are using named accounts, not anonymous accounts, and the user is a local administrator. However, it is very unlikely that many end users, if any, will have been given permission to be a local administrator and so they have to reply on the administrator having set the correct registry settings on the server.
Your administrator needs to physically go to the server and log on. Then, as I mentioned in a previous posting, they need to place the server into change mode. This is done at the DOS level. With the server in change mode whatever registry settings that need to be applied should be applied. This can be done using a REG file as mentioned in a previous posting. Next, the administrator needs to make the server execute those changes so that they become permanent and for everyone not just for the server. It is vitally important that the server is in change mode for the briefest amount of time and that only changes which are needed for everyone should be applied.
With all of this done you should see the settings working for a user. Your Citrix administrator should know all about the above steps because he / she will have had to make similar changes and set ups for other applications. Beyond helping with the Discoverer settings, because this is an Oracle forum I can't post answers that are purely Citrix in nature. If you need help with the inner workings of Citrix you'll have to take that up in a Citrix forum.
As an FYI, getting Discoverer to work in a Citrix Metaframe environment can be tricky and needs planning and thought and some expertise at the admin level. In addition, as you may well be aware, running Discoverer in a Citrix environment is unsupported by Oracle and as such there is limited help available. You also need to purchase as many Desktop licenses as the number of users who will be using Discoverer. Many companies fall foul of this and end up under licensed but those that do it right and get the administration set ups correct are able to run Discoverer effortlessly.

Custom directories for export/import for Integration Builder

Hi,
XI uses default directories for exporting and importing Integration Builder objects, and there is no option to change the directory or to pick up objects from another directory.
Does anybody know of any way we can change the default directory that XI uses? Maybe some system setting hidden somewhere deep?

you can help your basis team using XI
set you file adapter to monitor export directory
and try sending your xi export files to a different server/location
you can have a look how Felix did similar scenario:

isn't this a good way ?

30EA4 - Command Line Exporting Fails (ututil -exp)

I'm using SQL Developer Version 3.0.03 Build MAIN-03.97 and i'm attempting to export unit tests from SQL Developer to my local file system (windows XP Professional 2002 service pack 3).
I've written a .bat file to accomplish this (scary i know, much prefer linux :) and for some reason, a couple of test suites are failing with the following error message:

Verify the URL format for the specified driver.
        oracle.jdeveloper.db.DatabaseConnections.getUniqueConnection(DatabaseConnections.java:514)

In case this helps troubleshoot / reproduce the error any, here's the bat file i came up with. Please withhold the snickers ... on the few occasions i need to script, it's usually in a *NIX setting :) The basic idea is to start with a SubVersion folder and then use that as the driving source for test suites to export (i want the latest version from SQL Developer assuming the SubVersion code is not the latest version).
rem need to set values for the repository owner we are going to export the unit test suites from
set repo_owner=ERS_CON@DEV02
rem need to set the LOCAL directory where the unit tests are located
set ut_dir=C:\WORK\SubVersion\concito_DEML\Unit_Test\Test_Suites\
rem need to set the working directory (or have this in your local PATH) .. the install location will obviously change based on the LOCAL computer
cd C:\SQL_Developer\sqldeveloper-3.0.03.97\sqldeveloper-3.0.03.97\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin
rem assuming everything gets set properly above we begin the mass exporting of unit tests
for /f %%a IN ('dir %ut_dir% /b *.xml') do ututil -exp -suite -name %%~na -repo %repo_owner% -file %ut_dir%%%aAll of the file names currently have the naming convention of SUITE_NAME.xml (they were originally exported from SQL Developer and the default naming standard wasn't augmented).
Another oddity is that when i check the exported files (using a subversion DIFF) it looks as though the export actually happened (changes were exported and overwrote the existing file as i was hoping for). So based on that, this isn't extremely critical, just annoying if you have this scripted and expect a clean run.

I'm getting the same problem - perhaps it's the 64-bit issue? I'll try with SQL Developer 32-bit.

Line polarity important for FXO ports

I spent several hours trying to get the FXO ports working on my UC320W without success until, in a moment of desperation, I reversed the polarity on the phone line I was using for testing and suddenly everything's working nicely. I've gotten spoiled with other equipment that automatically adjusts to reversed polarity - apparently that's not true for the UC320 or the 8800 units.
Just thought maybe I'd save someone else some aggravation, as I saw no mention of this as a troubleshooting step in the various materials available.

Are you located in North America? What type of issues were you having when the polarity was reversed? i.e Call ID or FXO ports not answering, not able to make outbound call... etc..Your feedback is appreciated. I'm checking with our hardware engineers on the issue you raised. I'm also confirming that FCC Part 68 complaince tests for fxo reverse polarity conditions. If your available I'd like to reach out to you after I receive feedback from our hardware team.

How do you either set "Show More Tiles" or Start Screen rows via command line or script for Windows 8.1?

Is there a method to change the Start Screens number of rows (similar to Windows 8.0's use of the Explorer\Scaling\MonitorSize in registry). Possibly by forcing the switch for "Show More Tiles" via script etc? This is to enable the device with
Windows 8.1 to be built using a deployment methodology like SCCM and have the Tiles correctly configured as required for a standard look and feel across devices. I do not know why all these switches are not represented in either WMI or the registry to enable
the customization of look and feel out of the box for enterprise deployments.

Command line Quicktime encoding for windows?

I think you can script quicktime to encode on the Mac using applescript, but can you do the samething for windows?
Maybe something like:
c:\quicktime.exe /profile /inputfile /outputfile
and viola! Out comes my encoded files!
I'd love to automate my encoding process but I can't seem to find a way to do it.
