CommandButton does not call action method ?

Hi BalusC or JSF gurus,
I have a requirement to build a database table and update the row in the database table followed with save.
I used this from posts : http://balusc.xs4all.nl/srv/dev-jep-dat.html.
It was very excellent. Thanks BalusC.
table.jsp:
<h:dataTable rows="0" value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitList}" var="currentRow" binding="#{LCCircuitUtil.dataTable}">
<h:column>
<f:facet name="header">
<h:outputText value="Circuit Name"/>
</f:facet>
<h:commandLink action="#{LCCircuitUtil.editLinkAction}">
<h:outputText value="#{currentRow.circuitId}"/>
</h:commandLink>
</h:column>
<h:column>
<f:facet name="header">
<h:outputText value="Audit Comments"/>
</f:facet>
<h:commandLink action="#{LCCircuitUtil.editLinkAction}">
<h:outputText value="#{currentRow.auditComment}"/>
</h:commandLink>
</h:column>
               <h:column>
<f:facet name="header">
<h:outputText value="Start Date"/>
</f:facet>
<h:commandLink action="#{LCCircuitUtil.editLinkAction}">
<h:outputText value="#{currentRow.startDate}"/>
</h:commandLink>
</h:column>
               <h:column>
<f:facet name="header">
<h:outputText value="End Date"/>
</f:facet>
<h:commandLink action="#{LCCircuitUtil.editLinkAction}">
<h:outputText value="#{currentRow.endDate}"/>
</h:commandLink>
</h:column>
               <h:column>
<f:facet name="header">
<h:outputText value="Status "/>
</f:facet>
<h:commandLink action="#{LCCircuitUtil.editLinkAction}">
<h:outputText value="#{currentRow.status}"/>
</h:commandLink>
</h:column>
</h:dataTable>
<h:commandButton value="New" action="#{LCCircuitUtil.newButtonAction}"/>
     </h:panelGroup>
Upon click the link or newButtonAction i am able to see the edit.jsp with the populated row values..
<h:form id="EditCircuitForm">
<h:panelGrid columns="2">
<h:outputLabel value="CIRCUIT ID" rendered="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.circuitId > 0}"/>
<h:outputLabel value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.circuitId}" rendered="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.circuitId > 0}"/>
<h:outputLabel value="Audit Comment"/>
<h:inputText value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.auditComment}"/>
<h:outputLabel value="Start Date"/>
<h:inputText value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.startDate}"/>
               <h:outputLabel value="End Date"/>
<h:inputText value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.endDate}"/>
               <h:outputLabel value="Status"/>
<h:inputText value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.status}"/>
</h:panelGrid>
          <h:commandButton value="Save" action="#{LCCircuitUtil.saveAction}"/>
<h:commandButton value="Cancel" action="return" immediate="true"/>
          <h:inputHidden value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.circuitId}"/>
</h:form>
Save Action in LCCircuitUtil.java
     public String saveAction()
          System.out.println("saveAction ");
     this.updateCircuit(circuitTO);
     System.out.println("End saveAction");
     return "return";
Issue : I am not able to call saveAction from the edit.jsp..It does not call the save Action in the backhand Managed Bean
Thanks,
bk

hi balusC,
I have not set any validation criteria anywhere(may be later)..
<h:panelGrid columns="2">
<h:outputLabel value="CIRCUIT ID" rendered="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.circuitId > 0}"/>
<h:outputLabel value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.circuitId}" rendered="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.circuitId > 0}"/>
<h:outputLabel value="Audit Comment"/>
<h:inputText id="ip1" value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.auditComment}"/>
<h:outputLabel value="Start Date"/>
<h:inputText id="ip2" value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.startDate}"/>
               <h:outputLabel value="End Date"/>
<h:inputText id="ip3" value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.endDate}"/>
               <h:outputLabel value="Status"/>
<h:inputText id="ip4" value="#{LCCircuitUtil.circuitTO.status}"/>
               <h:message for="ip1" /><br>
               <h:message for="ip2" /><br>
               <h:message for="ip3" /><br>
               <h:message for="ip4" /><br>
</h:panelGrid>
I didn't receive any error messages..When i save it refreshes the same page.
Thank you,
bk

  • ABAP Proxy Inbound message does not call generated method

    Hi,
    we tried to generate a ABAP Proxy for a customer demo. It just should retrieve some data and write them to a database table.
    the generation and activation of the proxy was without errors. If we call the check function the method works fine.
    But if we receive data from XI via the regarding interface it looks as if the execute-method of the generated class is not called. We can see the message in SXMB_Moni, but nothing is written to the db table.
    Does someone have any idea?

    Hi Peter,
    There will be some error in the Proxy Side.
    Check this in Transaction Code-SXMB_MONI of Application System(R/3 etc) not in the XI system.
    There may be some communication(http etc) issues.
    Also check this -
    /people/krishna.moorthyp/blog/2005/12/23/monitoring-for-processed-xml-messages-in-abap-proxy
    Hope this helps to findout what is the error.
    Regards,
    Moorthy

    Oh, I see that the title of your post is an error message? Ok. Well, the test class is declared as implementing an ActionListener. That means the test class must have an actionPerformed() method. Your test class apparently does not.
    It does not appear that the test class needs to implement ActionListener. You are using annonymous classes as listeners.

    Hi Steve:
    Thanks for your prompt responses. I appreicate that. I got the latest version.
    I'm OT on at home looking for more answers...I'm guessing it's an installation issue...
    I even tried console.println("Message"); CTRL + J and blank. I did this on Acrobat and LC.
    I'm gonna do a full unistnall and reinstall when I get back to office.
    The software is coming from our IS dept so I know it's squeaky clean.
    I did an Installer Repair but the problem has returned.
    I also can't use/access any xfa.layout memebers....
    I get this errors even on newly created forms...it hasn't crashed again so I can't get any bucket ID log yet.
    Here's whats on my office box that giving me grief:

    Sorry, just figured out my silly error, the method is tableChanged not TableChanged.

    Check to make sure that the arguments are consistent with your ContentHandler class. Probably the wrong type.
    I think you forgot to include the skippedEntity method, it seems to be missing. Even if an implemented class has a method that you are not using, you still have to include the method in your code even if it doesn't do anything.

  • ...is not abstract and does not override abstract method compare

    Why am I getting the above compile error when I am very clearly overriding abstract method compare (ditto abstract method compareTo)? Here is my code -- which was presented 1.5 code and I'm trying to retrofit to 1.4 -- followed by the complete compile time error. Thanks in advance for your help (even though I'm sure this is an easy question for you experts):

    According to the book I'm reading, if you merely take
    out the generic from the code, it should compile and
    run in v1.4 (assuming, of course, that the class
    exists in 1.4). I don't know what book you are reading but that's certainly incorrect or incomplete at least. I've manually retrofitted code to 1.4, and you'll be inserting casts as well as replacing type references with Object (or the erased type, to be more precise).
    These interfaces do exist in 1.4, and
    without the generics.Exactly. Which means compareTo takes an Object, and you should change your overriding method accordingly.
    But this raises a new question: how does my 1.4
    compiler know anything about generics? It doesn't and it can't. As the compiler is telling you, those interfaces expect Object. Think about it, you want to implement one interface which declares a method argument type of Object, in several classes, each with a different type. Obviously all of those are not valid overrides.

  • When I press on a land line number, the phone does not call the number, but comes up with a screen to send a text to it.  How do I get my phone to default to phoneing a landline?

    When I press on a land line number, the phone does not call the number, but comes up with a screen to send a text to it.  How do I get my phone to default to phoneing a landline?  When I press a mobile number in contacts, the phone automatically phones the number.  I do not mind this as I hardly ever send texts, but I would like to have the option of what to do.  This seems such an obvious issue but I can not solve it even with much web searching.  Thanks!

    I can't delete my question, so I'll just say that you press on the type of number written in the box to the left of the box you typye the number into.  Dumb or what?

  • Flex Data Services does not see remote methods in extended ColdFusion component.

    I have created a remote service base component as a AModelService.cfc file. I extend that file to make my ModelService.cfc. When I configure the ColdFusion data service and point to ModelService.cfc and click next, I don't see any remote methods (there are none explicitly defined in the component) in the Service Operations window.
    If I go back and point to AModelServide.cfc, the parent component, and hit next, I see all the remote methods that are defined in the parent component. So, either I am doing something wrong, or Data Services does not look at methods up the cfc prototype chain, which from an OOP standpoint means that instead of say creating one restful base class and being nice and DRY you can't. I.e. not OOP for data services. Is this a bug, or what?
    Anybody get data services to work with extended service components?
    Mark

    Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did compile all the Java and it
    works OK with a simple Java program. It just will not work in a
    Flex application.
    The java classes are:
    RRA:
    package blah.myPackage;
    import java.util.List;
    import java.util.Collection;
    import flex.data.DataSyncException;
    import flex.data.assemblers.AbstractAssembler;
    class RRA extends AbstractAssembler
    public Collection fill( List fillParameters )
    RRS service = new RRS();
    return service.getSome();
    RRS:
    package blah.myPackage;
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.List;
    import java.sql.*;
    import flex.EORS.*;
    class RRS
    public List getSome()
    ArrayList list = new ArrayList();
    String str = "bob";
    RR rr = new RR(str);
    list.add(rr);
    return list;
    RR:
    package blah.myPackage;
    class RR
    private String name;
    public RR() { }
    public RR(String name)
    this.name = name;
    public String getName()
    return this.name;
    public void setName(String name)
    this.name = name;
    I started with something that retrieved data from a database
    but watered it down just to try and get some kind of communication
    between Flex and Java.

  • Error message: $host does not have a method 'resetDataPermsCheck'

    LiveCycle Designer 8.05.
    I am trying to reset the data in a subform. It is working great in certain subforms in my form. However, some of the code is as follows:
    if (form1.P1.docSF.new_revision.rawValue == "0") {
    // do something
    } else {
    xfa.host.resetData("form1.P1.newdoc_numberSF");
    With this code, I receive an error (in the Warnings panel) that says "$host does not have a method 'resetDataPermsCheck'", yet the subform fields still reset properly. If I move the "xfa.host.resetData..." line out of the "else" section into the "if" section, the error message goes away.
    Any idea what might be going on?

    Welcome to the forum.
    Could someone point to the cause of the error.Could you please mention the complete error message ( the ORA-xxxxx code ) and your database version ( the result of: select * from v$version; )

    Hello Experts:
    I'm experiencing strange behavior on my LC Designer ES application.
    I recieve a warning and my console window (ctrl+j) doesn't show up nor does the message box.
    I cannot see xfa.layout members on the object drop-down menu. I have re-installed to no avail.
    This occurs on every all forms. The default script is set to JavaScript.
    Can anyone explain this behavior.  Is it an installation issue?
    Thank you for your time, iL.

  • LINQ to Entities does not recognize the method 'System.String ToString()'

    Hi, i am working on MVC using LINQ query where i am heading a problem with LINQ Query. When I use following code
    public ActionResult GetProduct()
    Category p = new Category();
    var all = db.Products.ToList();
    // var catname = from i in db.Categories select i.CategoryID.ToString();
    p.CategName = (from i in db.Categories select new SelectListItem {Value =i.CategoryID.ToString(), Text = i.CategoryName }).ToList();
    var qq = (from i in db.Products join j in db.Categories on i.CategoryID equals j.CategoryID select new Product { ProductName = i.ProductName, UnitPrice = i.UnitPrice, UnitsOnOrder = i.UnitsOnOrder }).ToList();
    p.Products = qq;
    return View("GetProduct", p);
    It throws an error
    LINQ to Entities does not recognize the method 'System.String ToString(Int32)' method, and this method cannot be translated into a store expression.
    kindly help to fix this problem.

    Entity Framework cannot convert ToString() to SQL. Create the object after you have fetched the results:
    public ActionResult GetProduct()
    Category p = new Category();
    var all = db.Products.ToList();
    // var catname = from i in db.Categories select i.CategoryID.ToString();
    p.CategName = (from i in db.Categories select i).AsEnumerable().Select(x => new SelectListItem { Value = x.CategoryID.ToString(), Text = x.CategoryName }).ToList();
    var qq = (from i in db.Products join j in db.Categories on i.CategoryID equals j.CategoryID select new Product { ProductName = i.ProductName, UnitPrice = i.UnitPrice, UnitsOnOrder = i.UnitsOnOrder }).ToList();
    p.Products = qq;
    return View("GetProduct", p);

  • Why Set does not have get() method

    Can some one tell me why set does not have get method?...

    user12203354 wrote:
    ya u are right that designer of this class thought there is no implementation required for get but why he/she thought like this...
    there must be some valid reason for the same.Because a Set's purpose is not to keep things in order; it's to ensure there are no duplicate entries. Set would require extra code to be able to keep track of an order.
    Note that there is a Set implementation that does keep track of insertion order--LinkedHashSet--but it doesn't have a get() method.

    Hi, we had the issue following application of SP11->SP18 (NW7.0);
    The application of 'SAP Note 1133821 - UWL Destination Service configuration' resolved this in our case.
