Communication channel template

Hello,
Whenever I am trying to use "apply template" in communication channel , I am getting error. When I check the template in the IR , I get the same error.
The template is for SOAP CC
Where i can check the issue?
Regards,
Vinithra

I think you might have imported older version Software Component.
refer this forum thread: Attempt to read object Adapter Metadata from application REPOSITORY
The above might help to solve the problem
Can you also let me know which software component you are trying use the channel template?

  • Problem in creating new communication channel template in IR

    Hi experts,
I currently have problems with creating new communication channel template in Integration Repository. If I choose the New-Context (Adapter Objects-->Communication Channel Template) the dialog "CREATE OBJECT" is shown. After I have inserted the Name of my template I push the create button.
    Then the following error occurs:
STOP: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode
DETAILS: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode(CANT_SET_MODIFIED).
So can anybody help me. Thanks for your help.
    Best regards.

    Hi Mario,
This is genral problem appearing in PI 7.0 with SP12.
Previously, i have the same problem.
i.e STOP: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode
DETAILS: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode(CANT_SET_MODIFIED)
Regarding this we raise an OSS note SAP people.
they gave the suggestion that update with SP13.
i discuss with basis team and install the SP13.
now the problem is solved, i can able to create the Communication Channel Template.

  • Communication Channel Template not used/found?

    Hi,
I've created a new integration scenario. Below "adapter  metadata" I've created a communication channel template for IDOC. Now if I try to configure my integration scenario I can't find/access/use that predefined communication channel template. I only can choose between the existing communication channel belonging to the business system already used. Why can't I use that communication channel template?
    Thanks and regards!

  • Regarding Integration Scenario and Communication Channel Template

    Dear All,
1.What is the purpose of creating Integration Scenario in IR?Is it compulsary to create Integration Scenario in Every Case?(I mean Scenario not using BPM and Scenario using BPM).
2.What is the purpose of creating Communication Channel Template in IR?
3.If we create Communication Channel Template in IR?Do we need to utilize that Communication Channel Template for creating Communication Channel in ID?
4.IF we have created Integration Scenario in IR,and we transfered that Scenario from IR to ID,then Do we need to create Sender Agreement,Receiver Agreement,Receiver Determination,Interface Determination?or will they automatically created?
Please clarify my doubts. Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Ramana.

    Hi Ramana,
<i>1.What is the purpose of creating Integration Scenario in IR?Is it compulsary to create Integration Scenario in Every Case?(I mean Scenario not using BPM and Scenario using BPM).</i>
    >>> For graphical overview about the sceanrio. It is not compulsary to create Integration Sceanrio.
<i>2.What is the purpose of creating Communication Channel Template in IR?</i>
    >>> In integration scenario while creating the connection between two actions u need to specify the communication channel templates for Sender and Receiver.
<i>3.If we create Communication Channel Template in IR?Do we need to utilize that Communication Channel Template for creating Communication Channel in ID?</i>
    >>>You can utilize these templates in ID.After completion to creating the configuration sceanrio need to modify the parameters of the channels.
<i>4.IF we have created Integration Scenario in IR,and we transfered that Scenario from IR to ID,then Do we need to create Sender Agreement,Receiver Agreement,Receiver Determination,Interface Determination?or will they automatically created?</i>
    >>> From Tools-->Transfer Integration sceanrio from Integration Repository, From input help choose the sceanrio,Continue and click on Finish ,with the same name the configuration scenaro will create in ID.You need to follow the Confiuration steps like <b>Assign services</b> , here need to choose u r source & target business systems and <b>Configure Connections</b> in this step you can cross check the interfaces, mapping, channel templates involved in this sceanrio and <b>Generate</b>. It would automatically generates Sender Agreement,Receiver Agreement,Receiver Determination,Interface Determination. It would shown to u Generation Log, here you can check what are the objects generated and if there are any errors it would shown Number of errors.
By setting the appropriate channel parameters, activate all objects from change list. Now u can able to test the sceanrio.
However in latest version it is not compulsoary to create Integration sceanrio in IR and to the above things. You can use Configuration Wizard to do all these things or you can do these mauvally.
Hope it will helps to clear u r doubts.
    Cheers

  • In repository what is the use of communication channel templates

    Hi People
what is the use of communication channel templates in integration repository? and  when we are using that please tell me the ASAP
    Thanks & Regards
    shekar

    HI,
The communication channel template is for the documentation purpose that will give the information about the sender and receiver communication channels in IR. So No need to goto ID and check the related CCs each time for every scenario.
You can preconfigure a communication channel with a communication channel template. You can use the communication channel template as a template to define a communication channel at configuration time.
If you want to create multiple communication channels with some identical configuration data, you should use a communication channel template.
    Thanks
    Swarup

  • Reg: Communication Channel Template

    Hi All,
i have done file to file scenario using communication channel template.
What i understood from that is
i created Communication channel Template in IR, and in ID part also then
The sender agreement, receiver agreement, interface determination, receiver determination generated automatically.
is it the only use for Communication channel Template?
Is there any chance to import the Communication channel Template from IR to ID?
    Regards,
    Ajay

    Hi ajay,
Yes this the only use.CCT is the template i.e. its a guide which tells how CC will be in ID.
    to better understanding see sachin's weblog..in part 2..... u r doub't will be clear....

  • Applying communication channel template

    Hi
I have some module configurations setup for our EDI file channels. After Upgrade from PI 7.1 to PI 7.11 and changing the metadata from 7.1 to 7.11 all the module configs are lost. Currently i am manually doing all the module configs for all the file channels. I was wondering if i can use the Apply communication channel template option and copy the module configs from other comm channels. I am trying to do that, but i am not able to see the channels from which i have to apply the template.

    Hi Kalyan Golla,
    Please check [Link1|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/bd/6af766076e384ebdce621d25161184/frameset.htm]
    Module Configuration:-
On the Modules tab page, you can preconfigure modules. Note that all modules specified in a communication channel template are treated as a single parameter. This means that if you specify modules in the communication channel template and then use this communication channel template in a channel for which modules are already defined, all modules defined for the channel are overwritten.
    [Link2|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/48/d0066d05ae154ee10000000a421937/frameset.htm]
    Edit Communication Channel:-
To apply a communication channel template from the Enterprise Services Repository, in the object menu of the communication channel, choose -> Communication Channel -> Apply Template . In the input help, you can select communication channel templates from all software component versions.

  • Config-time substitution of Communication Channel values

I apologize in advance if this is explained elsewhere (or it's so blindingly obvious that nobody has asked). I promise I looked.
    NW04 SP17
Is there a way to do parameter substitution on values defined in a communication channel template, based on the business system that the channel is going to be assigned to at config time?
In case I got the terminology wrong, here's what I want to do. I have some CC templates defined for some SOAP services. In the template definition, I can add Target URL and SOAP Action attributes and assign a value to them that will be available on the config side later on. I want to use this template against a number of technical systems, each of which is going to have a different host portion of the Target URL.
What I would like to have is a way for the CC template to have a 'generic' hostname that is substituted for at config time by the actual hostname of the business system that the channel is going to connect to.
Is there a way to do that? Or is that a stupid question?

    Hi Michael,
I think there is a way to do this, depending on the XI SP level.
You might reference the following weblog, which uses the HTTP adapter as an example:
    /people/william.li/blog/2006/04/18/dynamic-configuration-of-some-communication-channel-parameters-using-message-mapping
Then, in SAP Help, for JMS receiver config:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/29/5bd93f130f9215e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Look under "Adapter-Specific Message Attributes" for JMS-specific parameters.

  • Missing adapter "templates" - am not able to create communication channel

    Hi guys!
I need to create communication channel in the Directory, but I can't, because if I want to select channel type (soap, http, ...) I get screen with information: No objects found.
    What could be wrong?
    Thanx a lot for answer!
    Olian

    Olian,
In the Integration Repository, you should have a software component SAP BASIS, which contains the adapter metadata. If this is not there, you should import the software component according to the installation guide:
Importing the XI Content for Software Component Version SAP Basis 6.40 SR1
    1. Copy XI3_0_SAP_BASIS_6.40_09_00.tpz from <Components DVD>/XI /XI_CONTENT to directory /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global/xi/repository_server/import/
    2. On your SAP XI host, call transaction SXMB_IFR.
    3. Choose Repository (Design).
    4. Choose &#8594; Tools &#8594; Import Design Objects
    2. Choose the file /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global/xi/repository_server/import XI3_0_SAP_BASIS_6.40_09_00.tpz
    5. Import the file.

  • How to find communication channels in the database

    Hello,
how can I find communication channels in the database? Exists here a webservice or a template to read them out automatically? Has anyone here an idea or experience with it?
    Thanks in advance,
    kind regards,
    Peter Mueller

    Hi stephan,
In XI all the intrgration logic will be stored as Design time objects(Integration Objects) and Runtime objects (Integratin Directory). So there wont be any specific tables that store all of them .But XI holds them in CACHEs called CPA caches and there are different caches too.
    Tables in XI

  • Mailserver communication channel polling twice

Hi, we are using a mailserver communication channel. When an order is sent, it is received in the R3 system twice.
Upon investigation, we have noticed that the system is connecting twice to the mailserver.
Does anybody know any solution on why this is happening?

    Hi Seshu,
this is because system had a lack of resources or some threads were blocking
the XI adapter engine from working properly. Therefore,
    - Please check if MaxThreadCount parameter is set to 350 in the Visual
    Administrator, as per steps below:
    1. In the left frame choose Server -> Services -> Configuration Adapter
    2. In the tab Display Configuration (right frame) choose Switch
between view and edit mode to activate the edit mode.
    3. Choose cluster_data -> server -> cfg -> kernel -> Propertysheet
    ApplicationThreadManager
    4. Choose Show the detail of the selected node
    5. The parameter MaxThreadCount must be set to 350.
    6. Restart the J2EE after changing the value.
For more information, please refer to the note #937159 - XI Adapter
    Engine is stuck
    - Please increase the consumer threads for the related adapter
    according to the note below.
    #1084161 - Performance decrease after applying XI 3.0 SP20 7.0SPS12
In order to check this parameter, go to the Config Tool
    -> server
    -> services
    -> com.sap.aii.af.svc service
    -> messaging.connectionDefinition
-> add the template below for the required adapter type (maintain the
global and add the template separated by a comma). The example below
    is for the File adapter.

  • Communication Channel Errors to be monitored in CCMS

    Hi,
We have set up CCMS Monitoring templates for PI monitoring. We have a business requirment to send communication channel errors to the IT team via CCMS
We have configured ALERTCATEGORIES and defined alert rules.  The communication channel errors result in alerts. These alert categories are visible under the CCMS PI monitoring template.
What is not getting transmitted is the alert long and short text in CCMS.
is there any way to achieve this?
Please point to how to guide or blogs for the same.

  • Communication Channel  types for e Filing GB

    Hi radhika,
For e-Filing Outgoing process the configuration Scenario is PAYE_EOY_GB.
For e-Filing Incoming Process scenario is Employee_tax_code_update,
In these cases,  GovernmentGateway is as sender for  -Filing Incoming Process and is as receiver for e-Filing Outgoing process.
But at sender side what is the type of the communication channel weather File or SOAP or ?
At the receiver side what is the type of communication channel used in XI content template?
What type of system GovernmentGateway is?

  • Communications Channels

Hi All, I have installed the Communications package on a portal installation running on SUN ONE Application Server 7. The installation and configuration went fine. All of the files, etc. appear to be where they should be and the providers show up in amconsole but none of the channels are showing up. I'm getting the following errors for all of the communications channels in the desktop debug logs:
    ERROR: PSContainerProviderContext.initProvider()
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ProviderClassLoader.findClass() : not found class Name = com.sun.portal.providers.mail.MailProvider
    at com.sun.portal.desktop.context.ProviderClassLoader.findClass(ProviderClassLoader.java:171)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:299)
I've tried manually adding the jar files containing the communications channel classes to the classpath in the app server configuration but the problem persists. Anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Thanks for the reply, Alexej. The strange thing is that I used the SUN-Supplied bundled installation package to deploy the providers in an error free run. All of the jar files, templates, etc. are in the right place. As an added measure I even added the jars to the app server classpath (:'s and ;'s do not show up - everything is on a different line). I also tried adding the jar files to /etc/opt/SUNWps/desktop/classes. That didn't work either. I will now see if the expanded jar files help at all (which I did to make sure they were not corrupt).
I tried to install the Yahoo provider previously. It choked during installation as it looked for the web server to install which it could not find because we installed on app server. The result was a semi-installed yahoo provider that does not work of course. Perhaps the same problem is happening here. I saw no mention of the app server install differences in any of the docs though.
    This is most ponderous.

  • Open and close communication channel in one link

    Hello,
I implement with successful the scenario that described in this blog:
Control Communication Channels Externally without using RWB
Right now I use with this link to start the CC
    http://aaaa:50000/AdapterFramework/ChannelAdminServlet?party=*&service=Open_Friday_Service_Sender&channel=Open_Friday_Sender&action=start
And with this link to stop the CC
    http://aaaa:50000/AdapterFramework/ChannelAdminServlet?party=*&service=Open_Friday_Service_Sender&channel=Open_Friday_Sender&action=stop
I looking for the way to start and stop the communication channel in one link.
    Elad

    hi elan
i think you need to write an abap program and schedule it..
abap program will call this HTTP link as The URL has no dependency on where it is called.
