Compatibility question re: different versions of Pages?

If I upgrade to the iOS version 5.5 of Pages in order to access my iCloud drive on my iPhone, will it be compatible with Pages 4.3 (from iWork 09) which I am using on my Mac?  More specifically, if I edit a Pages 4.3 document in the cloud (created on my Mac) with the newer version while on my iPhone, will I then be able to open it on my Mac (or vice-versa)?
Upgrading to the newer version of Pages on my Mac is definitely not an option due to the fact that it is missing so many features already present in iWork 09.

A JSP runs on a server. It is actually a servlet that merely outputs HTML (usually) to the browser. Your browser does not (really) know the difference between a JSP and a static HTML page and PERL cgi generated page. There is no interaction what-so-ever between the JSP portion and your browser. There will not be any books about compatibility issues between JSP and browsers since its a non-issue.
The previous reply suggesting JavaScript conflicts is entirely true. If you want a flipping nightmare job, write javascript that is compatible on NN 3.0 and above and IE 4.0 and above. It's a godd**ned mess.

  • Problem with different versions of Page Headers

    Gurus, I have a strange problem. I need to have different Page Header format for first page and another format for the rest of the pages. So as suggested in the forums, I did the page setup for Header and Footer with “different first page” option in MS Word. This is not working. I am still seeing the First Page Header format on all the pages. I checked the RTF, there is no section break or any other special breaks in there.
    Any idea why it is not working ?. I can send the Word doc and XML input files.
    Thanks
    Sub

    Is there some way to attach the RTF template and XML input here?.

  • Question about different versions

    I was just trying to clean up my computer a bit and saw that I have versions 1.4.2_04, _05 and _06. They are 107MB, 108MB and 108MB, respectively. Do I need all three of those or can I delete 4 and 5?
    Michele

    Each version is independent and does not interact with other versions.
    If you don't want or use a version it can be deleted.

  • Multiple versions of pages

    Hi,
    Can we have different versions of the pages like different layouts styles ?, but the same Java class should drive all the versions. Our Client wants to have different versions of pages runtime, like some customers sees X version other can see Y version of the pages and on the runtime they want to control the traffic with control panel, like 30% should see X version and 70% should see Y version.
    can we achieve this with ATG ?

    You require ATG Campaign Optimizer for using such type of testing.
    You ll need to get the installer for the same, and then include the required AB Testing modules.
    Using the A/B testing you can have multiple versions of your jsp for diverting traffic, and campaign optimizer will show you the statistics and other info in your dashboard as to which jsp is getting hit maximum.
    Also there are are numerous other advantages of testing multiple promotions etc. with A/B testing.
    Please refer to ATG campaign optimizer documentation for more info.
    Thanks

    No, it isn't. Pages 5 isn't compatible with Pages 4.3 as it is lacking more than 90 features that Pages 4 has. So when you open a Pages 4 document in Pages 5 only the simplest documents will look the same in Pages 5.
    Pages 4 can't open Pages 5 documents at all!! You have to export back to Pages 09 as I said above.
    You probably will be more happy if you just use Pages 4 (Pages 09). There are many threads in this forum that describes the lack of compatibility between the two versions. Pages 5 is in my view not Pages anymore.
    If you don't desperately need Pages 5 for moving documents over iCloud to new iOs devices don't use it.

    Just installed Forte as a Simple Server on a Digital UNIX (v4.0d) box (being
    a VMSbot it was much easier than I thought). We want to use it to interface
    with an existing web client. The Forte part is to provide us a scalable
    access path to Oracle DBs on the VMS machine; already running Forte.
    I'm having trouble finding media that contains C++ v5.4.-006 for the Unix
    box. Does anyone know of/has used higher versions of C++ without too much
    drama? How about v5.7 or even v6.1? We will be using extensive C++
    interfacing to existing web pages!
    NB: The current web system client is compiled using EGCS 2.91.66.

  • Does the new version of pages for ipad have backwards compatability with previous versions of Pages?

    This one question is preventing me from downloading the new version of pages - I am worried I will lose the ability to read documents made with the previous version of pages, or that they will be automatically converted into the new format without my knowing. My laptop does not have Mavericks so I will have to keep using an older version of pages here, but I am reluctant to download the new version to my ipad because of concerns that users have previously voiced about the lack of backwards compatability. Is this still the case, or is there now backwards compatability?

    Did we get HyperCard back?
    Did we get all the features of AppleWork Back?
    Has QuickTime X got back the editability of QuickTime?
    Has FileMaker now got all the Bento features?
    Has Final Cut been reduced to match iMovie for iOS?
    Apple is out to attract iOS users, who mainly do selfies and twitter. They pay better because they are undemanding, don't even notice when Apple offers them something inferior and have been broken in with the iTunes Store harness.

  • Different versions of Adobe Creative Suite Compatibility (CS5 and CS5.5)

    Our marketing team has two different versions of Adobe Creative Suite (CS5 and CS5.5).  We can save the CS5.5 down to an IDML document so users with CS5 can open/manipulate the file but it reduces the file size significantly.  What I do not know is if this saving down process reduces the quality of the file??  I am relatively inexperienced with these programs as I am self-taught.  Thanks for your help!

    IDML is good for repairing files.
    But IDML is not good to be used as exchange in a workflow because every export of IDML can change things in an unexpected way. So I would strongly recommend that everyone in the department involved in the workflow uses the very same version, anything else will let you struggle in a later point of time. When I have to exchange files with a client I use always their versions and avoid IDML in exchanging files in any case possible.
    Between CS5.0 and 5.5 are also several changes possible, because some bugs related to the text engine became fixed. E.g. in CS5 if you had an automatic TOC or cross reference in a text frame with 1 or 3 round corners and 3 or 1 normal corners, automatic number got shuffled in that frame, like page 345 became 543. When this was fixed some changes in the text engine have been done.

  • Master iPad configurator question concerning cart syncing with different versions of iPads.

    I have a question concerning configurator syncing.Can the master iPad be a different version of iPad than the other synced iPads? For instance can iPad 2 be the master iPad to a group of iPad Air's? The iPad 2 has some fewer capabilities than the Air, would some settings or restrictions be left off of the iPad Airs if they were set up this way?  Thanks.

    There is no such thing as 'master iPad'.  If you're using Configurator or Profile Manager control of the setup is done from a Macintosh.

    updated pages on 11/25 but it in application it is saying there is an new version for $19.99.  Is this a different version or the same?

    Launch Pages.
    From the Pages menu bar click Pages > About Pages
    The latest version available is 5.0.1
    If it's 5.0.1, your currently installed copy of Pages is up to date.

  • General Question about JRE - Versions and backward compatibility etc

    Could someone maybe help me with this query?
    I've got a group of network users who use a total of four java applications which I am told require different versions of the Java Runtime Environment to run.
    Is it therefore possible to have muliple versions of the RTE installed on one user machine to make all applications work at once or is it simply a case of having to have only one version of the JRE.
    I'm talking mainly about in house applications so I guess if some of them are incompatible with the latest JRE then the answer might be to find out what the problem is and fix the application so it works in the lates jre - or am I missing something?

    Hello,
    First of all, it is possible to keep several JRE installed in Windows. For example, my PC has JRE 1.3.1.8, 1.4.0.1, 1.4.2.6.
    Second. A tecnology exists to cause a Windowst to run a specific JRE for a specific Java applet. Please see the text below.
    HTML Applet Configuration
     The standard (Internet) method of calling Java Runtime when using a Java Applet is to use an Applet tag within the HTML file itself specifying the applet details (example below). This tries to attach itself to Microsoft Java Runtime registry CLSID as detailed above.
    <applet code=Applet1.class width="200" height="200">
    Your browser does not support the <code>applet</code> tag.
    </applet>
     When the above call is made either, a) the applet will load in the Microsoft Java Runtime, b) the applet will load in a particular Sun Java Runtime as its being redirected or c) the applet wont load at all as Microsoft Java Runtime isnt installed and Sun Java isnt set as default.
     The above can be uncontrolled as to what version of Java (if any) is actually used to launch an applet so have an alternative solution is to us the Object tag in place of the Applet tag. Its only suitable for Internet Explorer in an internal, Intranet environment but should be ideal for us.
     By replacing the Applet HTML tag with the Object tag when loading an applet you can specify in the tag either to use the latest installed version of Sun Java or a specific version by putting its CLSID in the list. (example below.)
    <OBJECT
    classid="clsid:CAFEEFAC-0014-0002-0006-ABCDEFFEDCBB"
    width="200" height="200">
    <PARAM name="code" value="Applet1.class">
    </OBJECT>
     The advantage in the above approach is we can install a specific version of Java, i.e. 1.4.2.06 that doesnt redirect the Microsoft Java Runtime so wont effect other applications, and we can be safe in the knowledge that even if we install a newer version of Java on a machine that has 1.4.2.06 we wont have any backwards compatibility problems.
     The Object tag is an Internet Explorer only solution, but could be scaled, as to load a different version of Java you specify a different CLSID, whether thats one of the versions of Sun Java or Microsoft Java or you can specify a CLSID that covers the latest installed version of Sun Java if you dont want to tie the application to a specific version.
    Further details on the use of the Applet and Object tags can be found on the Sun website below so they may be of use if the HTML code that calls the Java applet can be easily changed to support our requirements.

  • Loaded a dynamic page repeately in different versions

    hello everybody,
    in my application the user navigates to a jsf page X into which my code adds components dynamically. this works beautifully. however, when the user navigates to another jsf page and then returns to page X, my code has to add additional buttons to page X. this works in the display of the browser, however, it turns out that internally the systems still holds the previous version of page X. thus, as soon as the user presses onto one of the new buttons, no code behind is executed, instead the browser redisplays the previous version of page X!
    we have checked everything, we tried holding the page in the application and also in the request scope, nothing helps. The code for dynamically adding buttons is correct and hand has been cross-checked several times.
    in use: tomohawk 1.1.6, jsf sun implementation 1.1, tomcat 5.5.20.
    thanks for advance for any advice!
