Compile error at call Package with type parameter

Hello!
I have a problem.
I have a package PKG_ARRAY_PARAMETER. This package has a procedure with an array parameter.
PACKAGE PKG_ARRAY_PARAMETER IS
-- Define Record and Record-Table (array)
TYPE my_rec is record
( v_column1 VARCHAR2(5));
--Array from my_rec
TYPE my_rec_table is table of my_rec
INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
v_rectable my_rec_table;
PROCEDURE my_array_proc(p_array my_rec_table);
END;
PACKAGE BODY PKG_ARRAY_PARAMETER AS
PROCEDURE my_array_proc (p_array my_rec_table)IS
v_index BINARY_INTEGER;
v_count number;
BEGIN
v_count := 1;
END;
END;
The package compiled without errors.
The problem ist the call of the package procedure.
DECLARE
     -- Define Record and Record-Table (array)
TYPE my_rec is record
( v_column1 VARCHAR2(5));
--Array from my_rec
TYPE my_rec_table is table of my_rec
INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
v_rectable my_rec_table;
BEGIN
     v_rectable(1).v_column1:='aaa';
     PKG_ARRAY_PARAMETER.my_array_proc(v_rectable);
--null;
END;
I get the error "Error 306.... wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'MY_ARRAY_PROC'"
Can anybody help me. I have no idea wh I get this error.
Thanks

As you have discovered, even if the definitions are identical Oracle treats them as different objects. I recommend "Oracle PL/SQL Programming" by Steven Feuerstein which has a couple of chapters on collections and specifically warns against this.
I have that section bookmarked as I can never remember how to manipulate collections.

  • Scheduled Job Call Package with OUT-Parameter

    Hi,
    I'd like to create a job using the scheduler. The procedure to be called is declared in a package and needs an out-parameter.
    procedure transfer_pds2ddata(message out nocopy varchar2);Here the code I use to declare the job.
    begin
      dbms_scheduler.create_job(
              job_name            => 'AUTOIMPORT',
              job_type            => 'stored_procedure',
              job_action          => 'ACCESSWRAP.transfer_pds2ddata',
              number_of_arguments => 1,
              start_date          => to_date('26-10-2010 10:45','DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI'),
              repeat_interval     => 'FREQ=DAILY',
              end_date            => null,
              job_class           => 'DEFAULT_JOB_CLASS',
              enabled             => false,
              auto_drop           => true,
              comments            => null
      dbms_scheduler.set_job_argument_value(
        job_name => 'AUTOIMPORT',
        argument_position => 1,
        argument_value => ''
      dbms_scheduler.enable('AUTOIMPORT');
    end;After the time specified I query user_scheduler_job_log. The Status column of the table says that the job failed. I think it has to do with the out parameter but I'm not sure.
    Can anybody help with this?

    Hi
    can anyone revert to this query pls?

    Surprisingly, this same code was compiling file last week and now I have no clue why I am getting this error. Can someone please shade some light on this issue?
    Thanks,
    Sachin.

    Hello
    I have had the same problem in Oracle BPM and solved it using the following steps:
    1- In your application navigator window, expand the project that contains the business rule.
    2- In the SOA Content, double click on your wsdl file.
    3- When the file opens, select the schema view from the bottom of the page.
    4- In the schema view, expand all the schema nodes and check if you see any values in red. If you see one, that value has probably caused the error and you should correct it using the property inspector window.
    In my case, the schema location value was set to a wrong path, so I changed it and the error resolved.
    Also, some error that appear as warning in the rule editor will show as compile error later, such as input types not being used and such, so those must be resolved before compiling.
    Hope that was helpful
    good luck

    I suggest using JDK 6 and javac for this task. To get started, see the packages javax.annotation.processing and javax.lang.model.*; also the JDK comes with an example checker in
    sample/javac/processing/src/CheckNameProcessor.java

  • Compilation error while calling static method from another class

    Hi,
    I am new to Java Programming. I have written two class files Dummy1 and Dummy2.java in the same package Test.
    In Dummy1.java I have declared a static final variable and a static method as you can see it below.

    public class Dummy1
    public static final int var1= 10;
    public static int varDisp(int var2)
    return(var1+var2);
    This is program is compiling fine.
    I have called the static method varDisp from the class Dummy2 and it is as follows
    package Test;
    import java.io.*;
    public class Dummy2
    public int var3=15;
    public int test=0;
    test+=Dummy1.varDisp(var3);
    and when i compile Dummy2.java, there is a compilation error <identifier > expected.
    Please help me in this program.

    public class Dummy2
    public int var3=15;
    public int test=0;
    test+=Dummy1.varDisp(var3);
    }test+=Dummy1.varDisplay(var3);
    must be in a method, it cannot just be out somewhere in the class!

    Unfortunately there's not really enough information for anyone to help you much. I can tell you've hit an EOF Exception, but that's about it.
    What exactly do you mean by a heavyweight object parameter? Do you mean a large (in memory size) object?
    Without any knowledge of your application, I'd probably start by changing your ejb method to do nothing. That should tell you at least whether it's the serialization of the parameter that's the issue or not. Narrow it down from there.
    If you need more help, printing the entire stack trace of the EOFException and posting it here would be helpful.

  • Error when calling method with a return of double in j2me

    hello all,
    i have following problem with a j2me program:
    if i call a method with a return of double, then i get following error
    message:
    ERROR: floating-point constants should not appear
    Error preverifying class test.hallo
    what i'm doing wrong
    thanks in regard
    ----------------example----------------------------
    double yourValue(int y, int m, int d)
    double v = 0.10;
    v = 3.39 y m *d
    return v;
    public void startApp()
    int td;
    int y =2;
    int m =2;
    int d =2;
    td = yourValue(y,m,d);
    return(td);

    It's true for MIDP 1.0.
    But you can always use implementation of the float
    point arithmetic which was written by independent
    developers. For example see J2ME section of my
    homepage http://henson.newmail.ru
    anyway, double is reserved word in java, the way you wrote the source code in your example neither the preverifier nor the compiler will recognize that you intend to use your own types for double and float. maybe with Double or Float it would be different ...
    further question: you declare a void function, in the body, however, you try to return some value. something wrong with this function??

  • How to call rfc with byte[] parameter?

    I am building a middleware using SAP.NET connector but Im having a problem with a particular rfc. I am using C# and my problem basically is abut PIDs( persistent instance id, call list id). PIDs are composed of 32 characters(hexstring), 16 bytes in hexadecimal format. (e.g. A42103E78DCAD54A9EB09D5921C76F06). The rfc crm_call_list_get_calls requires  a PID input of byte[] datatype (byte[] Iv_Call_List_ID). I've tried converting the hexstring into an array of bytes (C# format) for the said rfc (A42103E78DCAD54A9EB09D5921C76F06----> byte[] PID={0xA4, 0x21, 0x03, 0xE7, 0x8D, 0xCA, 0xD5, 0x4A, 0x9E, 0xB0, 0x9D, 0x59, 0x21, 0xC7, 0x6F, 0x06} but ive been getting the following error:
    System exception thrown while marshaling RFCTYPE_XMLDATAto .NET type.
    Unhandled Exception: SAP.Connector.RfcMarshalException: System exception thrown while marshaling RFCTYPE_XMLDATAto .NET type. ---> System.Xml.Xsl.XsltException: 'Byte[]' is an invalid QName.
    Also a part of the generated code for the same rfc returns an error for missing array initialization.
    (public override object CreateNewRow()
      return new byte[]();
    Ive modified the code to: return new byte[]{}
    and I dont know if it will work for all situations. Please advise.
    Thanks in advance.

    Some Years later I have the same Problem.
    As discripet in the post before - first I've got an error in the Method "CreateNewRow()" where the Method wants to return "return new byte[]()". Well I don't know why the .Net-Connector creates that code - but it looks strange to me.
    The origin Code is:
        /// <summary>
        /// Creates an empty new row of type byte[].
        /// </summary>
        /// <returns>The newbyte[].</returns>
           public override object CreateNewRow()
                return new byte[]();;
    With Changing that method I've got the same Error as in the post before:
    System exception thrown while marshaling RFCTYPE_XMLDATAto .NET type.
    Does someone has found a solution for that kind of Problem?

    I am not sure as to why both the variables are different!!! Maybe something wrong happened while installing the latest version. And this might be the reason I am having issues while compiling program by including some of the packages.
    My query is: What should be both the variables be set to? And do I need to uninstall the 1.4 version?

    narayan_gop_mah your site is rubbish. Please don't spam it any more.
    That was the saddest comment follow-up I've seen in some time. You might want to make an effort to learn what the classpath is because it's not the same thing as your path, as you obviously don't know.
    Actually I gotta be honest with you here, I made the mistake at looking at a few more entries. This is one of the worst hobby sites I have seen. A few posts are just totally incoherent and then you have tips like
    The toString() method is one of the feature of java. It is the method of class String which is imported default on JVM from java.util.StringBrutal. If you want to make notes for yourself fine. If you want to do that on a blog, fine. But please don't ever think that you have some content there that's worth anyone else ever reading.

    Thanks!

    Hello,
    Show errors / at the end of the trigger and see if any of the dependent objects is missing resulting in error at compilation.
    Also you can try manually fixing the issue

    Thanks for the tip fac586,
    using apex_plsql_job execution is ok.
    Just wanted to know if there is another way without using Job, since the problem is related to timeout.And Alex and I are trying to convince you that it's the wrong problem. The timeout doesn't affect the execution of the job. Once that has started on the database it's going to complete (successfully or not), regardless of whether the user sits staring at an unresponsive screen for 30 or 40 minutes and/or gets a timeout message. Given that, it makes sense to run it asynchronously in the background and avoid the possibility of a timeout. This lets the user get on with something else in their session.
    You can modify the package so that the job sends email or SMS messages reporting when it is complete (successfully or unsuccessfully); you can use <tt>apex_plsql_job.update_job_status</tt> or <tt>dbms_application_info.set_session_longops</tt> as a mechanism to provide feedback on progress somewhere in your application.
