Completion level preceds the approval level

Dear SAP expert,
Our company is implementing SRM 7.0 right now and we have a confusion of what SAP means in the documentation for approval with completion level. It mentions, as I quote:
"If the process schema contains a completion level, it always precedes the approval levels"
Does it mean that the approver which able to do a completion (having inquire button) cannot be the approver AFTER the approver who can only approve/reject? We exactly have the requirement where ALL the approvers need to approve first, and only after that the purchaser will complete the shopping cart (eg. changing the free text item with a product id), where the purchaser will be the last approver.
This is to prevent the stigma that purchaser is delaying the process (IF the purchaser is the first approver with completion, then if there is a delay in purchaser it will be blamed on the purchaser).
Can someone shed the light on this matter?
John

Hi Saravanan,
Thanks a lot for your help. One thing i notice in the note that you mention that by default if SC is in approval phase and when the creator receive the work item, he can only accept the rejection. I thought that if the SC is rejected the creator will always have the option to revise and restart the approval workflow? As in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm70/helpdata/en/74/c0256bebb54f1c8dfb519d2908152b/frameset.htm
which one is correct? If the SC is rejected and it goes back to the creator, the creator can have the option to not accept the rejection right? By revising the SC and re-start the approval again.

  • Show child levels when the top level is forced to be null - Avoid aggregations on the top level

    Hi everybody,
it was difficult to select a title for my question.
Let´s say I have a geographical hierarchy with Region --> Country --> District --> Store levels
I want to avoid the aggregations in local currency at the Region Level because that makes no sense.
I scoped the Net Sales measure like this:
    SCOPE ([Measures].[Net Sales], [Fx Rate].[Fx Rate].[Local Currency], [Stores].[Store].Members);
    this = SUM([Fx Rate].[Fx Rate].&[1], [Measures].[Net Sales LC]);
    END SCOPE;
    SCOPE ([Measures].[Net Sales], [Fx Rate].[Fx Rate].[Local Currency], [Stores].[Region].Members);
    this = null;
    END SCOPE;
The scopes are working but I have a visualization problem. When I drag and drop the geo hierarchy in the pivot table nothing is shown because the upper level (Region) has only empty cells (this=null;). If I change the Fx Rate type to a reference currency,
then the regions are shown and I can expand the lower levels, change the filter again to local currency and the values are back, but this is not the best approach.
Any ideas about how to tackle that? Any comment would be appreciated

  • Automatic Approval of timesheets at the resource level

    Hi there,
I have a Manager that would like all of the timesheets submitted from her resources (she is both their Resource Manager and Timesheet Approver) to be automatically approved, rather than her needing to approve them.  The tasks the
Manager's resources use vary based on client work they engage in so we need to do this at the resource level, not the task level.
    Thanks,
    -Kate

    Hi Kate,
If you want your manager to automatically approve the timesheet and status updates , try creating an approval rule from approval center.
By default if you set the resource himself as Timesheet manager, it would be approved automatically.
Status manager would be approving the status updates.

  • Approver level 2 not receiving Workitem

    Dear Forum contributors,
May I kindly ask you advice about the next situation?
     We have set up a WF process with 3 levels based on the SC amount.
     Requesters are able to change approvers determined by the system according to a custom criteria.
     The conflictive case goes as it follows:
o     Requester creates a SC. Three levels of approval are determined.
o     Requester changes approver level 1determined for another approver of the same level.
o     Requester changes approver level 2 determined for another approver of the same level.
    o     SC is ordered.
o     Workitem goes into the approver level 1 inbox. Approver level 1 completes workitem.
o     Workitem goes into the approver level 2 inbox.
o     Approver level 2 is out of office for a long period, therefore requester enters into the SC and changes the approver level 2 for another one with the same level.
o     Work item is not going into the new approver level 2 inbox. Woritem only goes into the new approver inbox once the original one has completed the workitem.
    Is this standard behavior?
Thanks in advance for your support,
    Abraham

    Hi,
There is a slight difference here.
WF is not being restarted. As I mentioned in the initial exposure, work item is not moving to the approver level 2 changed until the original approver level 2 has approved the work item( not the approver level 1).
u201CThe conflictive case goes as it follows:
o Requester creates a SC.
    Thanks for your feedback,

  • Several nested loop at the same level in an execution plan

Hi, I am using 11gR2, and I've seen a execution plan in the trace of my SQL query (also shown in pl/sql explain plan) with 4 nested loops all at the same level, what does this mean?
    i.e.
    - SELECT STATEMENT, GOAL = FIRST_ROWS
    + NESTED LOOPS
    + NESTED LOOPS
    + NESTED LOOPS
    + NESTED LOOPS
each NESTED LOOP can be expanded to 2 further actions, which make sense to me. e.g.
    + NESTED LOOPS
+ TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID
+ TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID
    THANKS
    Ye

    >
why there are 4 Nested Loops
what is the final result set for the SELECT statement come from (any one of the 4)
the query run so slow in 11R2
    >
So far you are the only one who knows what the query and execution plan are because you haven't posted them
    >
Then you need to post the query, tell us what indexes are on the join columns and post the complete plan.
    >
We can't even begin to explain why Oracle might have chosen the plan it did if we can't see the query and plan you want explained.
And if we only see the plan we might be able to tell you what Oracle is doing but without knowing what indexes might be on the join columns and the filter criteria columns we can't tell you why Oracle chose the plan it chose.
And the excerpt of the plan you did provide is incomplete. You removed the indenting possibly because you did not enclose it in 'code' tags (see the FAQ).
    >
    - SELECT STATEMENT, GOAL = FIRST_ROWS
    + NESTED LOOPS
    + NESTED LOOPS
    + NESTED LOOPS
    + NESTED LOOPS
    >
There can't be four nested loops like that at the top level since the top level will be combining the result sets from it's children. A nested loop will have two children; like the last part you showed:
    >
    + NESTED LOOPS
+ TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID
+ TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID
    >
The two 'TABLE ACCESS ...' will be indented on a normal plan.
Without the query and plan there isn't much we can tell you.

  • Dynamic Approval Level in OTL Approvals

    Hi..
    We have the following requirement:-
For each employee there is an EIT against which a number is stored (1,2,3). Based on the number, the approvals for timecard should flow.
Can anybody please help regarding this requirement. We tried the below approach but were unsuccessful
    1. Created an XXAPROVAL_STYLE with Entry Level Component
    2. Created 3 Formula (Level 1 , level 2 and Level 3)
    3. In the first formula
    level= get_employee_level
    If level = 1 then
    approval_mechanism_id = get_level_1
    Return Approval_mechanism_id
    In the second fast formula
    level= get_employee_level
    IF LEVEL = 2 THEN
    approval_mechanism_id = get_level_2
    Return Approval_mechanism_id
The issue we faced was if employee had level 1, the approval style still went into rule 2 and returned null in the approval_mechanism_id. Hence the process went into error.
Please kindly help us achieve this requirement.
KIndly suggest any other way we cud achieve this requirement.
    REgards
    Murtuza

    Hi..
We wont be able to do that since for a level 2 it should go to first level 1 approver and then level 2 approver.
Hence it wont help in a single formula

  • Show a menu of roles in the Top Level Navigation

    Hello,
Imagine a scenario where a user has many roles assigned to him (say 40 roles). In that case the user will have 40 tabs in the first level of the top level navigation and by default a horizontal scroller appears on the right part of the screen clicking on which the roles will scroll horizontally. If the user has to go to the 40th role he has to click quite a lot.
Is it possible to have a menu option clciking on which we get the all the list of roles in the top level navigation in a vertical list and we can directly jump to any role clicking on the entry in the list ?
Something like what we get in a tab strip in Web Dynpro.
Thanks in advance for your valuable inputs.

    Hi,
Yes it is possible to have menus as you wish .
    Look at the following links
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/6066b302-09c8-2a10-a894-eb9fef30df85

You need to work on navigation tag libraries to extend number of levels .
The above inks helps you only for single level of navigation.

  • Profit Center Derived at the MIGO Level

    Hi All,
The material is issued to the project. Account Assignment category at the Purchase order level is Z- {Project).
The profit center which is maintained at the WBS level and the project level is different from the profit center which is derived at the Purchase order Level.
    Few findings from our end.
Material is not extended to Sales:/ General Plant ( where the profit center is assigned) so the option of defining the profit center from the material master is ruled out.
    your inputs are appreciated.

  • Hide the last level of a hierarchy in bex

    HI experts,
In a query I use a hierarchy based on 0account (characteristic based hierarchy, every node is also an account...)only leaves have figures in the cube (meaning no direct posting on nodes).
This hierarchy doesn't have flat / equal levels, and final accounts are sometimes located on level X, sometimes on level X+1 etc...therefore, I can't use the standard fonctionnality "expand to level X"
    see below a simple exemple
(in fact my hierarchy contain more than 10 levels):
    level1..|..level2..|..level3
    ..node 1-1
    .........|.node 1-2 ("R"account)
    .......................|.<b>account</b>
    ..node 2-1 ("R"account)
    .........|.<b>account</b>
My users want to be able to simply navigate in the hierarchy on specific nodes(which have specific properties through the usage of an navigational attribute used on my 0account characteristic), whitout having to expand to the last level: example the "R" level wich is the level before. Again, this R level resides in different levels of my hierarchy.
So I have to find a way to stop the expand of the hierarchy to this specific level, hide the levels below(account), but include the amount of the lower levels in this specific specified level ("R").
If you have any ideas/clues or suggestions on how to resolve this issue (navigational attribute, exits, restricted key figures, hidden columns...)...this would really be much appreciated.
    thanks a lot!
Ps: I work on BW 3.5

  • Levels in the TOC?

How many numbering levels are supported in the TOC?
In portrait author mode I can see my TOC taking shape as I add Chapters, Sections, and Headings.  Within a Section I now have several TOC entries which I have defined with Heading 1, and these are listed with numbers such as 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 etc where the 2 is the Section and the .3, .4, and .5 are the paragraphs delineated by headings.  But can I create TOC entries as 2.3.1; 2.3.2; 2.3.3?  I don't seem to be able to do so, though I can create indented paragraphs and bulleted lists, and headings defined as Heading 1 or Heading 2 style - however each heading is listed in the TOC as though it were at the same level of indent (for numbering purposes) as every other...
For a well-formatted TOC I need more levels than appears to be supported.  Is there any way to achieve this?
ps: Apple - a proper manual would be nice...  I lost a week on this project because the TOC behaves differently in landscape and portrait modes, and landscape is the default so the TOC appeared not to work as described.  I even reported it as a bug, though of course feedback just disappears into a black hole...  Really, Apple, there is no substitute for a good manual - achieving reasonable productivity depends on it...

It appears to be impossible to do what you want. While you can add any paragraph style to the TOC, there is no way to specify at what level that style should appear. So, if you add Heading1, Heading2, Heading3, Heading4, they all appear at the same single heading level underneath the chapter level, which is useless, of course.

  • Audio levels in the Viewer

After recording or capturing an audio clip in FCE 3.5, I play it and monitor levels in the floating levels meter. Then when I open that same audio clip in the Viewer to adjust the level, I find it's is always set to zero db, instead of the level at which the clip was recorded/captured.
Question: Does an audio clip's level in the Viewer always default to zero, regardless of the level the clip was recorded/captured at?
    Thanks.

    OK.
And, since I don't have an audio levels meter on my camera, I don't really KNOW what level I'm recording at; so, beyond knowing the dynamic range of my equipment, can I assume that after ingesting into FCE, upon playback, if the floating levels meter is not going red, and the waveform in the Viewer is not clipped at the peaks or valleys, that I have good sound?
    Thanks.

  • Ticking down to the lower level if thats empty in ALV

    location     level
    aaa          1

    ccc          3
    (aaa)          3
    bbb          2
    (bbb)          3
    ddd          3
    my requirement is
the value of the field in location should tickle down to the next immmediate lower level if the lower level is empty.as i have explained it with brackets.the number of levels are not known(can be 3 or 10).as anyone came across this before.if someone has any algorithm or solution to this please kindly forward it to me.
one solution that i though was creating a variable dynamically with that of the level, but creating a variable dynamically is not possible it seems in ABAP...
so kindly people out there help me if u can....
    thanks heaps in advance

It depends Upon the level of data u have ? but u can do it thru SAP.
So first thing what i do is
    get the data for A ,B,C .
    if itab_a[] is not initail.
    perform display_alv.
    elseif.
    perform display_alv "with itab_b.

  • Vendor name is deleted after the approver changes the product category.

    Hello,
We have implemented workflow WS14000044(Completion by Purchaser) and
    WS14500015(Item-Based Main WF).
At workflow WS14500015 level, when the approver changes the product
category, the vendor name is deleted. The previous validation allows the
PO creation , But the PO is created without vendor.
Furthermore under transaction process purchase orders 'BBP_POC' the
purchaser can not access in change mode to the vendor field in order to
    add a vendor.
How can we give access in change mode to the vendor field for purchaser in transaction 'BBP_POC' ?
