Note que pregunta qué tipo de ajustes quiere hacer. Veo que tiene un MacBook Pro, pero el sistema no puede ser IOS 7.0.6 porque ese IOS es para iPhone-iPad. Usted tiene que aclarar el sistema con que funciona. Por ejemplo OSX 10.

Yes in an STL file the subs have a comma after each In and Out Timecode (as a separator) and also they don't normally have line spaces between each entry. If you want the subs to be on two lines and "force" what goes on to the second line (rather than SP deciding for you) then where you want the return to be you need to add "bar" symbol (the one above the backslash on a Mac keyboard)
Try it on a couple of lines of your subtitles to see if it works before committing. I usually create my subs as STL files but it should work

A la primera pregunta:
Si, el texto al colocarlo puede fluir por las páginas e incluso crear páginas adicionales.
Con el cursor de Texto cargado, situate sobre un marco de texto maestro, o directamente en la página, y pincha como has hecho, PERO manteniendo pulsada la tecla MAY (Shift) si quieres un volcado o flujo automático.
Si quieres que el texto se vaya colocando (y enlazándose) sobre toda una serie de marcos independientes, prueba a mantener pulsada la tecla ALT (Option). (Flujo semiautomático).
Para la segunda pregunta:
Cuando abras Archivo >Colocar y escojas el (los) documento(s) de texto de Word (o cualquier otra clase) marca la casilla de la parte inferior: Mostrar Opciones.
Se abre un cuadro amplio, muy completo en el caso de archivos Word, desmarca la opción de imágenes incrustadas.
Las imágenes las puedes colocar posteriormente desde la carpeta que las contiene por separado, en marcos independientes o como objetos anclados al texto, para que puedan fluir con este si se desea.
Los objetos anclados pueden estar en línea o sobre el párrafo de texto, o situados a medida a una distancia o posición del punto de anclaje en el texto.
Por ejemplo 12pt (4mm.) a la izquiera del margen izquierdo de la columna de texto en una página par, y de forma simétrica en la impar u opuesta del mismo pliego.
Esto se puede incluir en un Estilo de Objeto para aplicarlo con rápidez y total precisión a toda una serie de imágenes insertadas como objetos anclados en un flujo de texto.

Si instalo CS6 standard en una mac pro, Es imperativo tener 8GB en RAM? Por que?

Actualmente tengo 3 GB y pienso subir solo a 6GB en RAM. Me pueden dar un argumento valido para poner los 8 GB que dice adobe en su página oficial para CS6.

Nadie te obliga, ni te limita o impide la instalación si no los tienes.
Seguramente ya habrás comprobado que lo puedes instalar sin problemas!
Incluso si abres una aplicación también funcionará con poco más de 1GB de RAM.
Ahora bien, qué ocurre cuando los trabajos son varios y muy grandes, que necesitan más RAM, si necesita usar mucho tiempo y muchas veces como memoria virtual el disco duro, irá despacio.
Qué ocurrira cuando además abras varias aplicaciones a la vez, que necesita mas RAM?
Por esas razones Adobe recomienda o sugiere disponer de 6GB de RAM, y posiblemente, a no mucho tardar, lo subirá a 8 GB.
(Las aplicaciones de forma individual seguirán funcionando con más o menos la misma cantidad de memoria necesaria actualmente.)
El precio de la memoria RAM, es actualmente muy bajo, aunque para tipos de memoria antiguos quizás no tanto, existen marcas/fabricantes de memoria totalmente compatibles con los sistemas de Apple, no tienes que comprarla en las tiendas o servicios técnicos de la marca.
Cuando se adquiere un ordenador nuevo, o no mucho después conviene instalar toda la memoria que pudiendose pagar creas vayas a necesitar ahora y en un futuro próximo.
Los MacBook Pro, salvo el modelo más pequeño, traen de serie 8GB de RAM.
Cúal es la diferencia de comprar 3 ó 5GB?
Quizás es por que tienes 3 módulos de 1GB, en una placa con 4 sockets?, y o bien pones uno más de 1GB, o quitas 1 de 1GB y colocas 2 de 2GB, porque si no tendrías que poner 4 de 2GB y "tirar" los 3 de 1GB?
Mi consejo es que compres (si puedes) 2 de 4GB y te olvides de los que tienes (aunque aún puedes incluir 2 de GB para tener 10GB en total).
Acuerdate de tener en cada uno de los 2 bancos la misma cantidad de memora para que trabaje en modo dual.

Can I set up a Mac Pro as a server using OSX Server for my current Windows-based office?

I love my Mac and it's ease of use, and for now I have to use Remote Desktop to log on to my server, and then run my MRP/ERP business software from that. Is there an Apple solution (Mac Pro?) for my server, where other users could run parallels to access the MRP/ERP software? Thanks!

It is possible - even quite easy - to turn almost any current or recent model of Mac into a server by installing OS X Server. It is less clear, however, that this will do what you want.
What are the hardware and software requirements of your MRP/ERP software? If it will only run under Windows or any OS other than Mac OS X, then it will not work, and installing OS X Server will not change that.
You may be able to get the MRP/ERP software to run under Windows run on a Mac using Parallels or VMWare Fusion, but it would still be running under the Windows OS, just virtualized so that it runs inside the Mac OS. Thus it will not be any easier to use than your current system, and in fact may be harder, and might not work at all.
You could also run Windows under BootCamp, but again, while the Windows OS would be running natively, you lose any ease of use of the Mac OS.

Hard disks, partitions and Mac Pro

Hi all,
I'm new to the Mac Pro and am migrating from a Windows environment, I have used a iBook for the past 6 months and this is the reason for totally migrating to a Mac Desktop.
I have spent half a day on browsing the forum here, very confusing I must say but then again I add that I am an absolute a-technical person.
I have a few questions on storage which I hope might get answered here;
My Hardware:
I am about to order a 2,66ghz Mac Pro, 4GB Ram, XP1900 and a 160Gb hard disk will will be replaced as soon as the Mac Pro enters my dwelling.
My Work Environment:
Apart from the basic office things, Internet, Mail and such I will use the mac Pro 90% for Imaging purposes. Most used applications:
- CS2
- Aperture
- Adobe Lightroom
as well as a number of add-ons like HDR programs, Noise programs, RAW converters etc.
I am a Photographer working with Mid-format and Standard format images, which in some case, like when using HDR can reach sizes of well over 150-200Mb per image!
Useually the image size of a 16bit mid-format tiff are around 70MB.
Now for the question, how to configure the best possible HD setup.
I will use WinXP, which I would like to run on a seperate partition/disk
I need a schratch disk for CS2
I need roughly 500GB of intermediate storage for imgaes before the periodically get back-up to external hard disk.
So I was thinking the following, and this only based upon how I used my Win Environment:
150GB Raptor as start-up disk and location for programs and OSX as well as basic documents and files
76GB Raptor as Scratchdisk
500GB as WinXp disk (30%) and rest as storage for Image cataloging system (mainly normal sized Jpegs)
750GB as Image tank
I have the Raptors, but don't have to use them if a better solution comes out. Since I will be using my Win pc until everythink works satisfactory on the Mac...
some remarks:
I have red about raid, both 0 and 1 seem interesting but I will loose out on disk space possibilities, and will be forced to work with external drives again, which I don't like... but if push comes to shove I will do that.
sorry for the information overload, and maybe all points have been answered in other threads before, but whilst browsing through hundreds of threads I couldn't see the forest becasue of the trees anymore.
One last comment, I make my living with photography so a good setup is of vital importance ....

Now for the question, how to configure the best

IMO; use a 3 drive RAID 0 for your boot, application, and
data partition - my style would be all in one big partition
and just segragate stuff with folders. I would then add 2
USB or FireWire drives. One for backing up your system
and one for the windows XP if you just have to have windows
running on your MacPro. They don't run at the same time you
know - like on Amiga where MacOS, Windows, and AmigaOS all
multitasked together in shared memory space simultainiously.
As such my opinion is that it's better to keep your WinTel
box on a KBM switch and LAN the two together.

IMO the Raptors are overpriced. If it were me I would sell
them. I think the two together will pay for all three 320
or 300 gig RAID drives. I did some research regarding which
drives are good in a Mac RAID environment and I ended up
going for the the MaxLine Maxtor drives (even though I hate
Maxtor usually). So far I'm very happy with them and the
fact that they are like one of the most inexpensive drives
you can get didn't hurt either.
I think that if a person REALLY needs the speed offered by
Raptor drives and is willing to pay the difference for it
then they should just get a dedicated RAID card which offers
even more of a speed increase!!!

You don't lose any space if you use just RAID 0. If there
are three 300gig HDs that format individually to 260gig
each then in a RAID 0 configuration you would have 780gigs.

Mac Pro G5, OS X 10.5.8

I have a Mac Pro G5, OS X 10.5.8. Adobe CS3 programs will not launch. Cannot move files with mouse on desktop. Cannot move files with mouse into trash. Used Disk Utility and verified and repaired HD with no problems. Reinstalled OS X 10.5.8, but not a clean install. Please help.

1 - Open Terminal - in Utilities
2 - Carefully type or paste the following
sudo rm ~/Desktop/"name of bad file"
3 - Hit return key
4 - Type admin password when asked for it - the password will not show on the screen
5 - Hit return key again.
Password:

rm: of: No such file or directory
rm: bad: No such file or directory
rm: file": No such file or directory
You failed to start the line with sudo and you failed to end it with "
You have to do things very carefully with Terminal.

What to do with 3 Year Old Mac Pro

Hey guys, We got a Mid 2011 27 inch iMac and i'M loving it. Strangely enough we needed two machines and while this one was in the process of shipping the ole Mac Pro gave me the CPUB red light and just wouldn't recover. During the lag time between the iMac's arriaval and the Mac Pro's breakdown I had to carry my home PC to the office to get some work done (thank God I was working in Premier Pro). My boss said I could have the Mac Pro for parts or whatever, but I wanna at least try and save it(considering we've now got 4 drives with work on em and no place to put em). Any suggestions guys? Shipping to the states is a no, no btw. We're in Jamaica.

The latch is to the side of each processor cover, holding the processor cover which holds the processor.
If the heatsink is still in position, the latch can't be seen.
Once the heatsink screws are released, a wiggle of the heatsink should cause the thermal compound to release, freeing the heatsink.

I have a lot of EXCEL and WORD files and the compatibility with NUMBERS and PAGES is not really satisfying. Is there a EXCEL and WORD app which runs without surprises on a Mac Pro?

Microsoft sells its own Microsoft Office version for OS X > http://www.microsoft.com/mac Microsoft Office for Mac will be the application that will give you less headaches when using Office documents, so I recommend it.
Another application you should consider is LibreOffice, which is free > http://www.libreoffice.org
