Config HA 5508 Release 7.4.121 Secondary in Maintenace Mode

Hello Everyone
I have a problem, last weekend I performed HA in 5508, using a spare of WLC, in secondary I installed a new license for supporting 50 APs, Main WLC supports 25 APs, however when I enabled SSO in secondary, this one went to Maintenance Mode, pls your help because I performed in secondary "config redundancy unit primary" and "config redundancy unit secondary" as suggested in other forum, but it didn´t work.  Pls follow the config, take in mind that subnet has mask  /23:

There is a bug description with the issue you are experiencing.
However, the SSO status clearly states that communication is down. Try looking into that first. Per the configuration guide:
"After the WLCs are configured with Redundancy Management and Peer Redundancy Management
IP Addresses and Redundant Units are configured, it is time to enable SSO. It is important to make
sure that physical connections are up between both the controllers (that is, both the WLCs are
connected back to back via the Redundant Port using an Ethernet cable) and the uplink is also
connected to the infrastructure switch and the gateway is reachable from both the WLCs before SSO
is enabled.
Once SSO is enabled, it will reboot the WLCs. While it boots, the WLCs negotiate the HA role as
per the configuration via Redundant Port. If the WLCs cannot reach each other via Redundant Port
or via the Redundant Management Interface, the WLC configured as Secondary may go in to
Maintenance Mode. Maintenance Mode is discussed later in this document."
Make sure that the redundant port connection and cable is fine--and not going through another switch as that is not supported in this version I believe.
However, based on the last message in your document, make sure that the WLCs can ping each others redundancy management interfaces and default gateways BEFORE converting to SSO mode (or currently, if possible). There may be an issue with the upstream distribution switch connection (trunking parameters, LAG, etc.).
Also, make sure that if you enabled LAG you reboot before attempting to enable SSO. If you find there is a communication issue with the upstream network, you should be able to fix the issue and then reboot the secondary WLC which will take it out of maintenance mode and cause it to renegotiate with the primary (assuming they can now communicate with one another).
I have seen in the past where the SSO fails because engineers are unable to ping the redundancy management interfaces of the other WLC--which something SSO peers check for on initial configuration and periodically to make sure there isn't a split brain scenario.

  • Upgrade WLC 5508 to 7.4.121.0 problem

    After I upgraded WLC 5508 from 7.2.111.3 to 7.4.121.0, all 3602i APs don't associate with the controller.  All APs were working/associating with controller on 7.2.111.3 at same setting.  IP address of APs are setup as DHCP.
    The error message is "AP couldn't get IP address".
    Any one has this type of problem when you upgrade WLC 5508 from 7.2.111.3 to 7.4.121.0.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    This doesn't look like software issue.
    You have to check why the APs are not able to get ip address. Try connecting a PC to a swtich port where one of these APs are connected and see if you are able to get IP on PC.
    Also check if the DHCP server is reachable and if there are IP address in the pool assigned for APs.
    HTH,
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ishant

  • DPM 2012 Primary SP1 and Secondary R2 mixed mode

    I have a Primary and Secondary DPM 2012 SP1 configuration.  The DPM servers protect each other's DPM database in a Cyclic protection.  The Primary DPM server is backing up a few servers that are running Windows Server 2003.  I want to
    upgrade the DPM servers to 2012 R2, but I just found out that DPM 2012 R2 does not support protecting Windows Server 2003 until DPM 2012 Update Rollup 2 is released.
    My question is, can I upgrade my secondary DPM server to 2012 R2 and continue to protect the DPM 2012 SP1 server and all of its protected volumes?  Whenever DPM 2012 R2 UR2 is released I would then upgrade the primary DPM server to 2012 R2 as well and
    patch both primary and secondary with UR2.
    Please advise if this is a supported plan for my upgrade to DPM 2012 R2.

    Hi,
    Not currently, I have asked that a note be added to the following two pages stating that the DPM Server versions must be the same.

  • How to release the Change request (Task in Repair Mode)

    Hello everybody,
    I have change request in that one Task in Repair mode.
    when i trying to release, it give the error message like
    Repair HRDK900911 may only contain repaired objects
    Diagnosis
    In repairs, you can only lock and edit those objects whose original exists in another SAP System.
    The object R3TR PROG /VWK/GPS_VCD_R was found in the object list of your repair HRDK900911. This object is not a copy but the original.
    So please suggest me
    How to release the Task (Repair) so I can release  the request.
    Thanks

    Yes you wont be able to release the request till you remove the flag from SE03.
    Goto SE03 > Display Repaired Objects
    Select Your object and remove the repair flag from top <Repair Flag>
    R3TR PROG <Your Object>
    Also as you are getting an error
    No valid change license available for namespace
    In SE03-->Display/change Namespace
    when I check the specified Namespace then their is no Repair License.
    So please suggest me Repair License is required?
    check what namespace it is refrerring to ... A namespace name should be there....
    1. Go to SE06 and click on the System Change Option.
    2. Verify that Namespace Systems Development  /Namespace/  is "Modifiable".
    or
    1. Run transaction SM30
    2. Enter V_TRNSPACE
    2. Click Maintain
    3. Double Click on Namespace /NAMESPACE/
    4. Change Namespace role from P to C, then hit Save
    All the best !

  • HT201328 Is there an easy way to release my IPhone 3 from the "recovery" mode.

    Looking for an easy way to unlock this phone.  I have had apple products for about 5 years and have never had this issue.

    Please define "unlock". If it's in recovery mode, it needs to be restored.
    If it is carrier locked and you are trying to get it unlocked so you can use it with a different carrier, ONLY the carrier it is locked to can legally authorize that.

    Not upgrading to 7.4.121.0 because of bug CSCuo63103. Have not restarted the controller yet.
    Any one else had this issue ? Is there a workaround ?
    Thanks,
    Rick.

    Thanks Stephen, In my deployments of 7.4.110.0 version I have not seen this issue so may be controller reboot will fix it (we do have HA to minimize the impact). I will keep the thread updated with findings and may request TAC for the special release 7.4.121.0 if the still not happy with 7.4.110.0

  • WLC 5508 and 7.4.110.0 and AP Blackhole?

    So large customer had WLCs running 7.4.110.0 and it appears there was either a 3500/3600 AP memory leak or a CCKM roaming issue. The APs would occasionally blackhole traffic. You could see 2+ APs at -67dbm in 5GHz.  Phones are locked to 5GHz, data rates matched. .  Phone showed good strong signal, but   7925 users would report every couple days the phone dropping/DHCP timeout, re-registering, etc.  We had a large CSE/TAC group onsite audit the 7925 Deployment Guide and setup, and we did a lot of cleanup but never hit the silver bullet.
    After upgrading the 5508 to  7.4.121.4  (TAC special not on Cisco.com) they reported the 7925 problems have improved.  Only been 1 day so far.
    There is also a WPA2 with Preshared Key  CCKM bug with the 7925s that roaming takes 2s.  Use either strong WEP or buy 7926s, or use EAP/certificates, etc. https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCtt38270

    We are running daily Traffic Stream Metrics (TSM) reports from Prime/WLC, and exporting the CallManager Diagnositc LQK records (export via CAR) to show if things are improving/etc.

  • WUT-121 error on 9iAS

    Using WebUtil, I successfully opened an image file in a form in 9iDS. When we moved to the app server, we encountered the WUT-121 error. The temporary directory space is not restricted, and this is in the file webutil.cfg:
    transfer.database.enabled=TRUE
    transfer.appsrv.enabled=TRUE
    transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot=E:\WUTemp
    transfer.appsrv.accessControl=TRUE
    #List transfer.appsrv.read.<n> directories
    transfer.appsrv.read.1=E:\WUTemp
    transfer.appsrv.read.2=E:\WUTemp\199_60_89_70\MackJ
    #List transfer.appsrv.write.<n> directories
    transfer.appsrv.write.1=E:\WUTemp
    transfer.appsrv.write.2=E:\WUTemp\199_60_89_70\MackJ
    A process can open the client file dialog, and create the sub-direcories under the workAreaRoot, but can not then write the file into the work area, whethr they are listed in the above file or not.
    Are there any other parameters we should be setting on the app server? (server: Win2000, 9iAS release 2)

    So 121 indicates that the Access control check faile - the last time I saw this going false failures was when Forms was installed onto Unix and the .cfg file was still in DOS format e.g. had <cr><lf> line terminators.
    You are in a Windows machine so this should not be an issue - however, it might be worth checking that you don't have some non printing characters that prevent a match between the upload directory and the transfer.appsrv.write list.
    So what you need is to use the debugger and set a breakpoint in the WebUtil_core.checkASACL() function, you can also examine the package variables: m_readACL, m_writeACL in the package body - these maintain the list that is read from the config file.

  • LAP1142 looses config after power cycle

    We have some 1242 LAPs in a two 5508 controller setup working fine. All LAP are configured to obtain address from DHCP. After first join we usually change some configs like HOSTNAME, AP GROUP, PRIMARY AND SECONDARY WLC. After a software restart or a complete power off/power on the LAPs joins the primary controller and all configuration still there. We now add a 1142 LAP and is does not retain the configuration after a power off/power on cycle, but after a software restart there is no problem. The only way to retain the config is setting the AP with a static IP address.
    We use WLC 7.0.116 and we see no errors in the LAP console.
    Best Regards,
    Augusto

    I would just open a tac case as it might be an issue with the APs itself.

  • PO Release strategy

    Hi,
    I have a unique requirement in PO release strategy. The requirement is if the PO doesn't have any contract it should be subjected to 2 step release process. If there is a contract then it should be subjected to 1 step release process.
    Now i have created 2 release strategies one with 2 step release and the other one with 1 step release with the same charecteristic values. The only exception is i have used the 'USER DEFINED CHARECTERISTICS' - USRC1 with the value of X in one step release strategy and the value of BLANK in 2 step release strategy.
    After doing all these settings Release strategy is not trigerring at all. Firstly it has to trigger the release then using the exit we can change the release strategies depending upon the conditions.
    Any suggestions are highly appreciated to fix this issue.
    Regards
    Sudhakar

    Hello,
    After you have done config for the release strategy please execute " Check Release Strategies". This will also help you in giving first round of check/errors in your config.

  • ABAP Proxy config between PI 7.1 and WAS 6.20

    Hi guys,
    I'm configuring the Proxy runtime between a PI 7.1 and WAS 6.20 and I'm getting errors at the two last tests of sproxy -> I'm getting - Integration Builder data not understood.
    I checked the following:
    Everything in sldcheck is ok.
    Integration engine configuration as appl sys (LOC).
    HTTP connection to IB ok.
    No user locked.
    SICF services all activated.
    The BASIS content imported at PI is 7.10.
    Do you know what I'm missing here? Is it possible to do these configs with these releases?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

    Hi Ricardo,
    I think your Basis component is at lower level, as it is not allowing to go for proxy communication, however for 6.20 and above add-on is not required:
    Check with your basis team the following:
    The prerequisites to configuration for ABAP Proxy include: (landscape dependent)
    1. The business systems should be based on SAP Web AS 6.20 and SAP Web AS 6.20 kernel patch level above 1253
    2. You have installed the XI Add-On in each of these business systems as described in the Installation Guide SAP Exchange Infrastructure 3.0
    3. The business systems and your central Integration Server are maintained in the System Landscape Directory (SLD).
