Configurable preliminary planning

Hello to everybody,
I manage configurable finished products. They have two kinds of characterictics types. Commercial caracheteristichs and functional ones.
By dependencies (procedure) and variant tables I can infer values for functional characteristics values by choosing a specific commercial characteristic.
For example: Commercial characteristics set to X infer Functional charateristic 1 to Y and Functional characteristic 2 to Z.
I have verified the functionality in the simulation of configuration.
My problems is that when I use the demand planning (MD61/MD62) the inferences doesn't function. I use thesupporting configuration points. When I set a value (usage probability) for a commercial charecteristic type the procedures seems not be active and the corresponding functional charatteristics are not derived.
Can anyone explain me why and how to do? MDPV, MDP1 transactions could help me?

What types of orders? Do you mean SD orders?
ATP check is defaulted 'on' or 'not on' by the MRP Strategy(OPPS, look for "availability check"). MRP strategy is in turn determined by the MRP strategy group in the plant-level material master. Assuming, then, that your MRP strategy group contains only one MRP strategy (this is common), then the default check will be set by MRP strategy group.
ATP check can subsequently be turned on/off other ways in SD, leaving you with either no ATP, or possibly an Availability check against planning.
So, if you are talking about sales orders, and not PP orders, the most likely place for 'turning off'' the ATP check is with the schedule line category. A close second culprit is with the requirements class of the SO item. SD configuration will determine the default requirements type, requirements class, and the default Schedule line category. Study the sales orders in question in VA03. Specifically look at the requirements type (procurement tab of SO Item) and the Schedule line category (goto-item-schedule lines). Then, look at the configuration for
Schedule line category: OVZ8
Mapping of requirements type to requirements class : OVZH
Requirements class: OVZ0
Look at the setting for 'AvC'. If it is 'on', you will get ATP against product. If it is off, you will get either an ATP against planning, or no ATP at all.
If you wish to change the determination of the Requirements type, or the determination of the Schedule line category in SD, you should probably discuss with your local SD functional expert. A small change here can have many unintended consequences.

1) Foundation Services (Hyperion Shared Services)

5) Planning -----> Product options, Register with shared services, configure database, deploy to application server (Appache), Product Instance registration.

Configuration of Planning fails on new Db server.

Hi guys,
I want to reconfigure my EPM system 113 to new Db server machine but with old databases,(restored from old Db machine)
All components were configured well, except Planning.
Here is scenario,
I have 3 system as,
A : EPM 11.1.1.3
B : SQL server 2005
C : SQL server 2008
Now I want to upgrade DB so I Import all databases from "B" to "C" then at the time of re-configuring EPM system with system "C",
Every components were configured properly but at the time of configuration of work-space in configurator Database connection is pointing towards Planning database.
so I changed it to work-space database and configured it get succeeded but after that I tried to configure Planning it get failed.
any idea? Do I missed any step?

You do know that 11.1.1.3 is not supported with SQL Server 2008, 11.1.1.4 supports SQL Server 2008

Variant configuration on planned orders, missing dependencies rules

Dear Gurus,
I`m facing a strange situation here. After MRP run, de material is corrected explode, but is not considering a procedure in a specific dependency rule. Instead of making the correct UoM calculation for convertion, the system is just considering the dimension of the item, and not the formula on the dependency rule.
If I simulate the process under CU50, the explotion works fine, but, on planned order creation, the information is completely wrong.
If does anyone have a clue on this, I`ll be glad to to give some points.

Hi Oliver.
where is this OD assigned. Is it on the header level or lower level ? There is a restriction when it comes to MRP.
When you create a planned order (MD11) the items are configured ie object dependencies are run only the ones attached to the items, the od's assigned the profile arenot run. Additionally , please review note 546516 that has explaination on the fields if you are using.
Please provide more explaination if that doesnot help

Problem in configuring Hyperion Planning Data Source configuration.

* I have configured all the components of Hyperion Planning except Data Source Configuration. The problem is when i provide server name, username and password when the system prompts to enter the essbase server information, the system gets hang and does not respond. I am stuck in this step (data source configuration) and cannot move forward.*

Mail Server Configuration in Planning

Hi,
We have installed all the Hyperion Products and developed a planning application.
Now we want to configure the mail server.
Do we need to run the Configuration Utility for mail server configuration or any other way to configure the mail server?
while running the configuration utility, if we use the existing RDBMS tables instead of dropping or creating new table....our application will retain or will it cause any problem to our exsting application?

Hi,
If you just talking about the email functionality within planning then you can set it up in planning itself.
Log into the application as an admin owner, administration > application settings > enter SMTP server in the Email Server section. save.
File > Preferences > Enter Email-address and Enable E-mail notification.

Configuring Dial-Plan in CME

Have to configure the dial-plan in CME version 10
Is ther any kind of timer setting as in Call Manager to wait for all the
digits and to route the call properly
If user dial 0 to reception
if user dial 024 to internal extension
if user dial 02433 to other site going through the voip-dialpeer

How do I configure Dial-plan redundancy - Priority

I am setting up Dial Plan to single Destination PREFIX to 2 seperate gateway (not under my control).
1st Gateway as 8 PSTN line
2nd Gateway has 4 PSTN line
how do I configure my cisco 3620 gateway that will allow me to route calls to 1st Gateway as long as all 8 PSTN lines are available.
I know if you configure preference under dial plan like the one below
dial-peer voice 88021 voip
destination-pattern 8802T
session target ivp4:x.x.x.x
preference 10
dial-peer voice 88022 voip
destination-patter 8802T
session target ipv4:y.y.y.y
preference 9
but this does not work as long as IP network is fine. I need as solution that will allow me to route calls to 2nd gateway if PSTN interfaces are all full/busy
These 2 destination gateways are not under my control therefore, I can't request them to use my gatekeeper.
Any other solution that I can try in my gateway

This will work. The clal will be routed to the first gateway with prefernce 9 and then if the call fails, the call will be routed to the second gateway with prefernce 10.
The only trick is the call has to fail with an error message which will tell the gateway to hunt. For example user busy will not cause the gateway to hunt. No cirucit or channle, no resource, no route to destination etc will all make the gateway hunt.
You can on the other hand use advanced busyout on the remote gateways to tell the originating when the interfaces are busy.

Trouble configuring Dial Plan in CallManager 7.1.3

Hello all.
Been trying to make my internal phones to communicate to the PSTN line through a VIC2-2FXO card on my Cisco 2911 router.
Problem is that in past tests, I managed to configure CME to direct PSTN call through an FXO card, but it was a different scenario. I had at the time a Cisco 2801 router with CallManager Express installed on its flash, and an FXO card same as this one.
I could also configure my scenario using SDM and other Cisco tools (graphical) which I can't now, because this Cisco 2911 won't accept SDM 2.5 to be installed.
Anyway, I have my phones communicating with eachother internally, both the IP phones, SIP softphones and 2 analog phones connected to the network through a VG202 voice gateway.
I'm here to ask for your help on the best way, or which steps i have to pass in order to allow my communications to be delivered to the exterior of my organization.
I already tried all that I could find, and understand, such as Route Pattern, Application Dial Rules and several others, but still no luck.
Can anyone help me with some guidelines on what I need to configure, or point me on some good documentation about this?

Since you are using FXO ports, I would normally configure the gateway as a H.323 router. This config should be familiar to you if you have played with CME previously.
Basically you would need carry out these steps:
1) Configure dial-peers pointing to your FXO ports on the gatway (here I'm assuming you want to dial 9 for an outside line, so change the 9 if you use something different - also use whatever voice port numbers you have on your gateway):
dial-peer voice 1 pots
destination-pattern 9T
port 0/0/0
dial-peer voice 2 pots
destination-pattern 9T
port 0/0/1
2) Set the ports to use PLAR to route any incoming calls to an internal extension:
voice-port 0/0/0
connection plar 1234 (set an internal extension where I have 1234)
3) Configure dial-peers pointing to CCM for inbound calls to the number you are sending the calls to:
dial-peer voice 10 voip
session target ipv4:x.x.x.x (CCM IP address)
destination pattern 1234
codec G711a
no vad
4) In CCM, add the gateway as a H.323 gateway. Set:
Device name: IP address of the gateway.
Device Pool: something suitable or default
Inbound Calling Search Space: Set to a CSS including your internal phones, or leave at if you haven't configured partitions
5) In CCM, add a route pattern to match your dial-peer. E.g.
Pattern : 9!
Partition : a partition which your phones have in their CSS, or if you haven't configured CSS/Partitions
Gateway or Route LIst : your H.323 gateway
Leave other properties as-is for now.
This should then allow anything you dial starting with 9 to be routed to the gateway, which will then strip the 9 and send the call out.
This is a very basic setup.... there's a world of other stuff you may want to do, but it should get you started...

Error "SYSTEM FAILURE: - NULL" while configuring Planning 9.3

Hello,
I have installed Hyperion System 9 Planning 9.3.0.1 on Windows 2003 Server. SQL Server 2003 is the database. I have installed Shared Services 9.3 and Hyperion Administrative Services as well. System 9 BPM Architect has also been installed.
My problem is, when I try to configure the " Data Source Configuration" under Planning. I am able to get to the page " Select the options for managing the Datasource"

Next
Datasource Name : Testdsn
Datasource Description: Testing the DSN
NextAs when I do the above procedure and click Next, I get Error " SYSTEM FAILURE: - NULL".
Please any help in this regard is appreciated.

Are you sure you re using SQL Server 2003? I thought only 2000 and 2005 were supported.
Whats in the Configtool.log under Hyperion\Common\Config\Log?

Configuring 11.1.2 on my Win 2008 Dev box and got to a menu I am not sure what to check
In EPM Configurator for Planning I have a window talking about Enabling each licensed product and shows
Capital Expenditures Planning
Public Sector Planning and Budgeting
Workforce Planning
I know the Public and Workforce are additional licenses on top of planning, is Capital Expenditures also? We just have a license for 'Planning' and the documentation is not to specific as to what option to select if any

Configuration Requirement for Integrated Planning in BI 7.0 with JAVA Addin

We have BI 7.0 with Java Add-in installation newly migrated to Unicode.
BW consultants (I am BASIS Consultant) want to use "Integrated Planning". I already checked IMG link of it & JCO destinations mentioned there are not in J2EE engine.   Even I am not able to create b'cos current setup is not on SLD.
I would really appreciate your help on below queries :
1) Can I configure Integrated Planning without using SLD ?
2) Do I need to install BI JAVA to running Integrated Planning ?
3) Do I need to install EP & EP Core ?
I already checked most of SDN thread but sorry couldn't able to get answer to above questions.   I have checked SAP Notes : 901022, 919850, 917950.
