• System Alerts for Bank Guarantees and Letter of Credits

Hi
My requirement is to get system alerts when the the Letter of Credit(LOC) or Bank Guarantee (BG) is going to be expired.
We are using Third Party software for master data and other information related to Letter of credit.
In SAP ,I will do special GL for LOC and assign to Reconciliation Account as per standard.
What is the best practice to get system allert, when ever the date is going to get expired.
Many Thanks In advance
Rama

Hi,
In case you want to send the last record only, then you can use following qurey
SELECT TOP 1 * FROM DBO.OVPM T0 WHERE T0.CashSum >= 10000 AND DATEDIFF(DD, T0.CreateDate, GetDate()) = 0 ORDER BY T0.CreateDate DESC
then in Alert u can set the frequency as 1 minute.
Hope this helps...

• Hi, Noted item-Bank Guarantees

Hi Gurus,
I configured the noted item for bank guarantees and i am making postings also, and my doubt whether this bank Guarantee reconciliation a/c's, we are mapping in the balances or not. what's the procedure in case of preparation of balance sheet for noted items. Please let me know, i will assign points.
sd/-
Rajesh

Hi Rajesh,
As you understood correctly there won't be any financial impact because of these Noted items..
All these are single line item documents....
Even though we assign the Recon a/c to these Spl GL a/c, there won't be any posting to these a/c and even if you assign them to the FSV, system will not show any balance on your Balance sheet or Trial Balance.
These are only useful for reporting...in FBL1N and FBL5N you can generate reports by selecting the Noted items in the selection given in the down.....
I hope it will clarify your doubt...otherwise please revert back
Thanks & Regards

• Bank Guarantee - Noted item

Dears
I need to define Special GL transaction for Bank Guarantee.
I have created an Alternate GL account (reconciliation account) for the vendors.
I have set it in FBKP for K-G combination for this bank guarantee.
Other than this, do I need to give an open-item managed balance Sheet account for 'automatic off-setting posting' in FBKP ?
I heard bank guarantee is a statistic posting. Then why an off-sett account is required, if any ?

Dear:
When a Bank Guarantee is received from bank then date is entered as noted item whihc does not have any financial impact . This amount should be shown as open in Bank Guarantee GL A/c ( hence it should be maintained on OIM basis). Use F-57 to record the transaction. Next upon realization of payment for which it was issued, we select the Special GL indicator G to clear the open items. F-52 is used to process the same .

• Bank guarantee- Provisions / security deposit

Dear All,
I have looking for bank Guarantee solution in SAP. I know about SP GL but it doesn't cover the full functionalities like administrate Provisions which the customer paying to the Banks.
The core Process is like the advanced payment(FI) include the administration of Provisions.
The process starts with:
- Advanced payment request from selling customer
- The buying customer ask for securities for this advanced payment,
- The selling customer contacts bank for secure Advance payment,
- Bank secures that and asks for provisions (less than normal Interest).
- The buying customer pays "Advanced payment".
- The selling customer pays provisions for just outstanding part of advanced payment because when selling customer deliver services then advanced payment turn into Turnover.
Knows someone how /where to customize such process?
It should be a standard sap solution.
Thanks for your help

Dear Morteza,
The Busiiness process explained by you, till customer makes down payment is general scenario only. Where as the Guarantee is concerned there is no FI entries passed in the Financial records of the seller, since a guarantee is given by the supplier's bank. However for providing the provision for contingent liablity to record the transaction you can create a noted items ie Special GL for Customers. When ever a guarantee is given you can pass an entry through transaction f-38.
Whenever you want to see the list of guanrantees given to customer you can select the noted items in T Code 5bl5n and get the list.

Hi,
1. Create a Special GL Indicator for Bank Guarantee and use the same in F-49 (customer ) or F-57 (Vendor). -
transaction Code - FBKP
2. Make WBS Field as mandatory for Bank Guarantee GL Account (recon account), then system will ask you enter WBS No while saving document in F-49 or F-57.
Please revert if you need more clarity.

Hi

Hi,
Electronic Bank Statement
Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement
You should carry out Customizing for the electronic bank statement as follows: In Customizing for Bank Accounting, choose Business Transactions  Payment Transactions  Electronic Bank Statement  Make Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement.
Create Account Symbols:
In this step, you create account symbols. You will need these symbols at a later stage to define the posting specifications. Before the posting rules are used, the individual account symbols are replaced by the account to which items are to be posted.

TREASURYAUSGANG Treasury outg. trans
TREASURYEINGANG Treasury inc. trans.
ZINSAUFWAND Interest paid
ZINSERTRAG Interest received
Assign Accounts to Account Symbol:
In this step, you define how accounts are determined for a particular account symbol. To avoid you having to define a separate account symbol for each individual house bank account (each with a different G/L account and separate bank clearing accounts), the G/L Acct field can contain a masked output.

Create Keys for Posting Rules:
In this step, you create the descriptions for the required posting rules. Each posting rule represents the business transaction on the bank statement in the SAP system, such as a cheque received, a credit memo, or debit memo.
Posting Rule Text
001+ Cash inflow via interim account
002 + Cheque credit memo through bank

014- Interest paid
015+ Payment by credit card
016- Vendor direct debit
017+ Treasury receipts
018- Treasury disbursements
Define Posting Rules/Posting Specifications:
In this step, you create posting specifications for each posting rule. The posting specifications enable you to define how a particular business transaction (such as a credit memo) is to be posted.
Posting specifications comprise one or two posting records Debit  Credit. The first posting record is called posting area 1 and usually involves a G/L account posting (BANK ACCOUNT  CASH RECEIPT, for example). The second posting record, which is optional, is called posting area 2 (CASH RECEIPT  CUSTOMER, for example).
Depending on whether a posting transaction affects bank accounting only, or affects both bank accounting and subledger accounting, you define posting rules either for the first posting area only, or for both the first and second posting areas.

Assign External Transaction Types to Posting Rules:

To enable the bank statement to find the item to be cleared in the vendor direct debit transaction, the bank details must be maintained in the vendor master record. The bank statement finds the vendor using the bank details and the item using the value (if unique).
For algorithm 012, the number interval of the document numbers must be entered in the import report. For algorithm 026, the number interval of the reference document numbers must be entered (SD number assignment = XBLNR in the FI document). For further information on searching for the reference document number, refer to SAP Note 0107592.
The UNALLOCATED transaction results in the bank statement being imported, even if the external transaction code has not been created in Customizing. The transaction is posted to the interim account +++++5 (bank subaccount, depending on bank). Take a look at this interim account after the bank statement has been imported and post the items to the correct accounts where necessary. To ensure that the transaction is contained in the system the next time the statement is imported, define the new external transaction code in Customizing and assign an appropriate posting rule.

Define Posting Keys and Posting Rules for Manual Bank Statement
The posting keys and rules have already been set up for the electronic bank statement. The posting keys and rules for the manual bank statement are the same as those used for the electronic bank statement.
5.5.4 Cheque Management
Create and Assign Business Transactions

CD01 + CD01 + Direct cheque deposit

Define Posting Rules and Posting Keys for Cheque Deposit
Two posting rules have been created: Direct cheque deposit and Cheque deposit via interim account. These rules represent two ways of posting cheques in the system. If you only want to post the bank accounting item in the first step and then clear the open customer items, use the Cheque deposit via interim account transaction. This is of particular importance when you have a lot of cheques and you have to ensure that all the cheques in Bank Accounting are posted by 10:30 a.m., for example. Otherwise, you use the Direct cheque deposit transaction in which the customers are cleared immediately provided that clearing information is available.
Procedure
Create Account Symbols:
In this step, you create account symbols. You will need these symbols at a later stage to define the posting specifications. Before the posting rules are used, the individual account symbols are replaced by the account to which items are to be posted.

Assign Accounts to Account Symbol:
In this step, you define how accounts are determined for a particular account symbol. To avoid you having to define a separate account symbol for each individual house bank account (each with a different G/L account and separate bank clearing accounts), the G/L Acct field can contain a masked output.

BANK + + ++++++++++ Bank account
Create Keys for Posting Rules:
In this step, you define a posting rule for cheque deposits. The key determines the posting rules for general ledger and subledger accounting. The posting rule represents the typical business transactions involved in cheque deposits.
Posting Rule Text
CD01 Direct cheque deposit
CD02 Cheque deposit via interim account
Define Posting Rules:
In this step, you define the posting rules for cheque deposits and prepare account determination. Depending on whether a posting transaction affects general ledger accounting only, or affects both general ledger and subledger accounting, you define posting rules either for one or two posting areas. You only need one posting area if you post items directly “Bank to incoming cheques” rather than using clearing accounts, for example.

• Tracking of due dates in case of letter of credit and bank guarantee

Hi
In case of letter of credit and bank guarantee can a track be kept in sap for bill negotiated and due (means the vendor has claimed payment but payment from us to our bank is not due) ,
negotiated and due(means our payment is due)
and bills negotiated and overdue (means payment from our side to our bank is overdue)
how is it possible plz explain in detail as i have never worked ob LC and BG.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Thanks for the answer I will try to explain my requirement .
In case of import and exports Letter of credit and bank guarantee are opened with the bank. There can be amendments also after its creation in terms , amount or validity period. Then it is negotiated and retired.
An example : A letter of credit is opened on 1st Jan. The goods are shipped on 7th Jan .Credit term given by our bank (in case of import) is 1 month which is counted from the shipment date and it expires on 7th feb. The vendor negotiates the bill on 15th jan.
The requirement is to get a report of u2018negotiated and dueu2019 and u2018negotiated and overdueu2019category.
Like from 15th Jan to 7th Feb the bill negotiated by the vendor comes under u2018negotiated and dueu2019 category and after that it comes under u2018negotiated and overdueu2019category.
List of letter of credits established , negotiated , retired and balance if any.
Letter of credit wise u2013 Bank charges paid. i.e at the time of opening , amendment , negotiation and retirement.
Same in case of bank guarantee also.
Plz explain me how can this be tracked and how to configure this.

• Bank Guarantee and Cash Credit Limits in SAP

Dear SAP Gurus,
How Bank Guarantee or Cash credit limits are maintained in SAP? How to do configuiration of it?
Thanxs
Regards,
Divyesh.

Hi,
Credit limits are set for the Customers depending on the nature of business, their repayment pattern.
This comes under Credit Management which you configure through Credit Control Area and set
credit limits to monitor the customer credit worthiness and ageing analysis. Regarding Bank Guarantee and letter of credits, they are normally for export customers which comes under Risk and Credit Management in Sales & Distribution Basic data. You refer to SAP pdf searching through Google for SAP's SDBFCM pdf file which gives you total scenario regarding setting of credit limits and Bank Guarantee etc.

• Bank guarantee with MIRO

Hi All,
We have made a Vendor Bank Guarantee through F-57 with spl G/L indicator. Ran FBL1N to see the list of bank Guarantess for a particular vendor where the due date i.e. expiry date of bank Guarantee is also displayed.
Now at the time of MIRO/Advance Payment client wants to capture this expiry date. If the BG date is expired the Payment will be blocked.
Also can the system throw message before 2-3 weeks of expiry of BG that a vendor BG is coming to expire.
Please help me if someone has worked on it. If the help of an ABAPer is required to meet my goal please suggest.

Dear Sri,
It seems that Validation has been defined in your system to prevent another document type to be used for the banking transaction....
You can check validation defined in transaction GGB0...
Check the validation assigned to your company code in transaction OB28..
