Configuration to Retain Amount of Vendors

Hello Experts,
Business Scenario :
I have an invoice from a Vendor for INR 10,000.00 i am informed to pay INR 9,000.00 by keeping the Balance INR 1,000.00 as retention for 1 year.
please help in configuration :
is there any way in Special GL to configure to Retain part Amount of Vendors.

In OBB8 create three new payment terms.
Payment terms A- select "installment payment" in payment terms section.
Don't enter any paymernt terms here.
Payment Terms B - Fill in necessary fields as per your requirement
Payment Terms C - Fill in necessary fields as per your requirement
Go to OBB9 make entries such as
Payment terms  Installment    %         payment term
A                               1            90            B
A                               2          10              C
And to make the payment after 1 year you can use the options "additional months" while creating the paymentr terms C in OBB8.

    Thanks for your reply. The result of posting invoice that I want is as follow:
    Dr. Expense    1000 USD
    Dr. Vat - Input    100 USD
    Cr. Account Payable   1100 USD
    When posting invoices in FB60, there is a filed "amount vendor line item" at the top. Usually the field is filled with amount vendor 1100 USD, but I want to fill it with the expense amount (1000 USD). Which can be show the account payable 1100 USD.
    Is there any configuration to change the field "amount vendor line item" ?

    Dear Expertia,
    In FI,when checking for duplicated invoices, the system compares the
    following :Vendor, currency, company code, gross amount of the invoice,
    reference document number and Invoice document date.
    SAP Note 305201 clarifies this in a more details; please read it.
    The following fields must be identical for Duplicate invoice check
         Company code                              (BUKRS)
         Vendor number                             (LIFNR)
         Currency                                  (WAERS)
         Reference number                          (XBLNR)
         Amount in document currency               (WRBTR)
         Document date                             (BLDAT)
    If the document is having any one of the above filed different then the
    system does not consider it as a duplicate invoice.
    Also It will check duplicate invoice check in vendor master data and
    in posting key is there check box selected for sales related
    The setting you making in OMRDC i.e Materials management->Logistics
    Invoice Verification->Incoming Invoice ->Set Check for Duplicate
    Invoices is only valid for MM and not  FI invoices posted via FB60/FB65
    You should check the F1 help on field "Chk double inv." (LFB1-REPRF)
    in the relevant vendor master record (transaction FK03).
    Please also check, that message F5 117 has been set correctly in the
    IMG using this path:
    Financial Accounting -> Financial Accounting Global Settings ->
    Document -> Default Values for Document Processing -> Change Message
    Control for Document Control For Document Processing
    Finally & mainly, go to the relevant posting key is defined as sales
    related in transaction OB41. You have to flag this field if the
    duplicate invoice check should work.

  • Retention Amount during vendor invocing

    Dear All,
    I have a doubt related to retention amount for vendors.
    Scenario is:
    Client is keeping certain amount as retention amount from the vendor bill. Now this amount is pre-decided in PO terms & confitions and the same is known to purchase department. But no such comminucation is made to accounts dept. Hence the person who is passing the payment entry is not aware of the amount to be retained. Client requirement is that, vendor invoice should be passed with the full invoice amount & during payment only the amount other than retention amount should be paid. But no manual intervention is required.
    e.g. Vendor invoice is INR1000
           Retention amount - INR 300( decided during PO)
           FB60 / MIRO passed with INR1000
           F-58 should automatically pick up INR 700 for payment    &  rest of the amount should remain in vendor cr with spl GL indicator.
    Can this be possible.

    Dear Ajay,
    You can use the Terms of payment to acheive this requirement.
    Go to Transaction code OBB8. Create a new terms of payment say Z001, which has the "Installment Payment" ticked.
    Now create two more terms of payment Z002 and Z003. Here mark the "Payment Block" (A or B) for the terms of payment Z003.
    Now go to OBB9, fill as below
    Z001----- 170-----Z002
    Z001--230-----Z003.
    Now at the PO stage, make sure that the terms of payment is Z001.
    At the stage of the invoice verification, the entry would be
    Expense A/c Dr 1000
    To Vendor A/c           700
    To Vendor A/c           300 ( This would be with a payment block)
    At the time of automatic payment, this Rs.300/- will not be selected unless we remove the payment block.

  • Exit or Enchancement for changing amount in vendor line item in MIRO

    Dear All,
    I want to change the amount in vendor line item which get posted through MIRO.System generated 2 line item in case of payment terms of retention is used.
    Requirement is that, in one line item of vendor, amount should get changed based on the logic and adjust the amount in other line item of vendor.
    Request to please let me know, Where in Exit/ Badi or enhancement spot, we can write our coding, so that it should update the amount with new value at the time of posting the document.

  • With holding tax amount in vendor line lay out

    Hi Experts,
    I have posted an invoice in MIRO.  After posting the document when I check the wittholding tax data tab in MIRO screen the w/tax base amt (WT_QSSHB  & WT_QSSHH) and Wh tax amount (WT_QBSHB & WT_QBSHH) field has no value. TDS Deducted and posted.  But the same fileds has values in data entry view screen when selecting the "display withholding information" in vendor account .  This problem is only for MIRO entries. Because of this i am unable to bring the WHT tax amount in vendor line layout.
    Kindly advise why no wtax amount was shown in the field 'w/tax column' even if the vendor is liable to tax.

    Dear All,
    this is not an error but the Standard System Design. Please read the note 611844. Only if You insert manually the WT amounts during the posting You will see them into the WT TAB after the posting. If You make the System to calculate the WT Aamounts automatically, no WT amounts will be reported into MIRO/MIR4. You can see them into the follow on document.

    1) Payments are initiated at the corporate SAP System using APP and converted into IDOC
    Could you please tell me the steps in converting the app into idoc.
    There are standard Idoc used for the same , for APP it would be PAYEXT, You need to use this Idoc type.
    You define the EDI payment method and assign the program in FBZP (RFFOEDI1)which would created payment medium.
    i believe in the app we will create the proposal and run the payment run, after payment proposal created what are the config steps involved in createing the payment run. for example for checque payment we will maintian variant for cheque printing.
    The payment run config is done in FBZP, which would include definf check PM and assigning house bank sub gl etc.
    2) PI at Client End receives the input through IDOC for the payments
    Pl means? and how the client will recieve this idoc what is the set up has to be made?
    PI(Process Integration) middleware which will send bank files from sap to bank and vice versa.
    3) Bank PI receives the payment and converts the same RTGS/NEFT format
    4) Payment Data is received at the Bank RTGS/ NEFT server for further processing
    how the payment data will be recieved by bank what is the process?
    This is again via PI or any thoird party tool which will send bank files to sap as Idoc, The idoc message type is FINSTA.
    or this in SAP you will have to configure the following:
    *House bank with partner profile
    *Outbound parameters                      what is meant by outbound paramenters and how to create and where to maintian
    *Inbound parameters                          what is meant by inbound paramenters and how to create and where to maintian
    The outbound and Inbounmd idoc's are the one which we send(PAYEXT) and rec from bank(FINSTA).  you create partner profile in WE20 and create partner profile once you create you assign outbound and inbound message types in there.
    *EDI Compatible payment methods        how to know about the compaitable payment methods
    Please goto house bank FI12 and you will see this in there, assign the PM used.
    *APP config                                        i know the app config for cheque payment, for this scenairo any additional settings?
    It would be pretty much same, you will have to define the PM used and Payment medium and remaining configuration in FBZP.
    *Bank details in Vendor :
    You will have to maintain the bank details of the vendor in vendor master.

  • (very urgent)Difference of amount in vendor account and vendor invoice.

    we are facing a issue related with vendor account actually MIRO post for the amount is showing difference compare with vendor invoice,
    please consider this scenario:-
    we are having vendor bill/invoice for Rs 1110/-
    but in SAP amount is showing 1105/- showing a Rs 5/- difference
    we found that this difference is showing becuse of we are maintaing material on single quantity whareas we got the price from vendor on BOX or bulk qty when we are deviding this price with the quantity the price will come on 4 decimals again here also we are maintaing two decimals. 
    from this we come to conclusion that this problem will occure again and again
    so it is advaisable to create a LOSS DUE TO AMOUNT ROUNDIG OFF account and posting these differnce to this gl to clear the open item that is showing in vendor master.
    Here please suggest me how to resolve this issue
    a)for the current scenario we are having many MIRO which we sre posted having the difference of only RS 1,2,3,4,5,

    Hi,
    if you go to SM30, view V_169L, you can configure what is considered as a "small difference". Small differences are then automatically posted, see account configuration in OBYC.
    However, I think this is designed if the vendor really invoices you a little bit too more or less. But in your case, this is not the problem. The problem is, as you have realized, that the price unit is set to small (actually, to 1 PC). The proper solution is not to post the differences away, but to stop this incorrect calculation. Small diffs should only be posted if there really were some small diffs!
    Example: agreed price with vendor is  1,001 RS per piece. As you keep your RS currency with two decimals, the price in SAP would be 1,00 RS.
    If the invoice is about 1000 pc, then the correct price is 1001,00 RS. This is what you see on the invoice and this is also correct. However, within SAP, you will see an expected value of 1000,00 RS only, so you have a difference of 1,00 RS.
    You do not need to touch the material master to fix this. Only thing you need to maintain is the PO line, where you have entered the price as 1,00 (rounded!!!) RS by 1 pc.  This must be changed like this: 1001,00 RS by 1000 pc. Then it will work fine.

    First all go SPRO>IMG>Financial Accounting (New) >Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) >Document >Tolerance Groups >Define Tolerance Groups for Employees
    Here you have to create a 2 types of tolerances - 1 for normal user and another for Higher authority
    I.e.  1 one - Amount per document - 10000 so that can that group not able to pay more then that amount
         2 one - Amount per document - 50000
    now assign those Tolerances with user

    Have you managed to find a way to configure the stamp fee in SAP. We are facing the same issue. We need to set up a fixed amount tax on sales documents (invoices).
    We are also facing the same problem in Tunisia with the 3 decimals format. Legally all documents should be in 3 decimals where as our CO currency is in EUR and in 2 decimal format.

    If you have cleared the advance in F-54, then this will reverse the tax amount. That could be the reason for tax amount in debit.

    version 2007 fully supports multiple BP internal reconciliation, you are hence able to offset transactions of 2 separate BP codes against one another.

  • Problem with amount of vendor invoice than amount in the order

    My problem is that a vendor can send an invoice with an amount superior than the order's amount and then send a refund with the différence to regularize.
    Actualy, it's impossible to make an invoice with superior amount of the order's amount in MIRO transaction because an IMG point (SPRO) is missing to pass the difference between order and invoice
    I'm new in FI and i don't know exactly what to do.
    Can you give me the different IMG point to make it possible? Do i have to create a special account ?

    My question is maybe stupid but if i adjust the tolerance, my invoice can be saved in MIRO, but is this enought ? do i have something else to do ?
    For example i have an order with an amount of 2000$ and the vendor send me an invoice with an amount of 2200$. If i adjust the tolerance at 200$, the invoice can be saved. but the vendor send also a 200$ refund.
    Actually, the users have to create an order with a 2200$ amount and record the memo credit of 200$ in FB65 to regularize.
    So if i adjust the tolerance, can i save my invoice in MIRO with an amount of 2200$ ? Do i have to record a line in the "G/L account" tabstrip with the 200$ ?? if yes, what account type ?
    Sorry if my questions are stupid, i'm a beginner in FI.

  • Problem in posting Retention amount to Vendor

    Dear All,
    I had activated business function 'LOG_MMFI_P2P'. As a result i am getting Payment processing tab in PO.
    There i can define Down payment and Retention percentages. I had created a service purchase order and then service entry sheet.
    After the acceptance of service entry sheet i did invoicing (MIRO). Here i get an option to clear down payment (an additional button becomes available to clear down payment). That scenario is working perfectly fine. System also proposes the retention amount. I can change retention amount/percentage or continue with same.After invoice is posted the retention amount is visible in Invoice number row in PO History Tab.
    Now my problem is when i am doing payment of retention amount(after doing payment of services deducting down payment and retention) to vendor the 'Posted Retention in Document Currency' column in PO history tab for invoice is not updated.
    What is the correct way of posting retention to Vendor against invoice by doing which 'Posted Retention in Document Currency' column gets updated ? I am currently posting payment by F-53 for open Special G/L Items.
    One more thing currently FK10N is giving proper values. I mean after payment is done balance under Special G/L account for retention becomes zero.

    Hi,
    First check the Current period in OMSY trx...for your Comp code..
    Then go to MMPV and enter Comp code, Period & Year
    and execute...
    Ex: if the current period in OMSY for your Comp code is 01,2008
    then you need to enter period 02, 2008 in MMPV trx...
    so, that period 01 will be closed & Period 02 will be opened automatically...
    You need to close periods one by one like this..
    until the period you want use...
    Remember you can not Roll back the closed period
    Be careful in closing the MM period in PRD client.

  • Check amount -foreign vendor

    we paid a foreign vendor thru check.when we  printed out the check ,the amount was messed up, decimal places got displaced, if actual amount was 3,475.00 it printed out as 3.475,00
    I know its cuz of country format, cuz vendor belongs to columbia.But if I change the country currency format,the change would be at the clinet level and our other companycodes may get affected.should I change the country currency format or is there any other way to correct it?Thanks

    Thanks Andrew for quick reply, but currency format in the form is comptible with US format, and we run the checks in US$ for these foreign vendors with local vendors, its just these vendors belong to a country other than US in the master record.one simple fix could be to change the country in master record but client dont agree on that.
