From schema 1 to schema 2 migration delegated admin problem

I want migrate from schema 1 to schema 2 the messaging server 6.2 ( jes 2005q1).
I have install access manager and delegated admin.
With the commdirmig I migrate the domain and schema , the messaging work correctly.
I have a problem with the delegated admin web interface.
The delegated don't view my domain. If I add the sundelegatedorganization objectclass I can view my domain on delegated admin but I can view user and group.
Any Idea?

There are two very different products called "deletaged admin". The old iPlanet Delegated Admin (iDA) only works with Schema 1. The current Delegated Admin, that comes with JES3 only works with Schema 2.
If you're using the old iDA that worked with schema 1, it won't work with schema 2. You have to install the new DA for that.
It doesn't work with groups/lists, only with users and domains.

The old iPlanet Delegated Admin uses a special account itself, rather than the one you use to log in as.
I see that login failing:

err=32 means, "no such object". This means that this user, NDAUser has been deleted, as have some of the entries above that.
A failure to bind or locate an entry is not "an error" to Directory Server, it's a failed lookup or failure to bind. Nothing like this is going to be logged into the errors log.
It's still clearly the problem....
The password for NDAUser is in clear text in your iDA config file, "resource.properties" Likely, you could create the user and password, or you coule reinstall Delegated Admin.
If you haven't downloaded the later version, 1.2p2, I STRONGLY recommend that you uninstall the version that came with Messaging 5.2, and install the later one.

Delegated Admin - Problem

I just installed the SC 6 Update 2 all component in the same server....when i try to create a user with delegate admin i have the following error

the only way to make work is if I remove the " -S mail,cal". I enable mail & cal to be use with convergence, the object exist in the LDAP because the admin user that was created with the installation has all the objectsclass needed for calendar and mail, so if I login into convergence I see the calendar and email folders...
and then a I run the command /opt/sun/comm/im/sbin/imadmin assign_services to assign the services to all users in a specific domain and it executes without problem but without changes...the users still have the same objectclass

yes, unfortunately that's right. Only system objects can be treated separately, as you can restrict the permission on the "System Landscape" iView, which is the only location where you can create a new PCD object "system".

Different product.
Schema 1 used the old iPlanet Delegated Admin.
Schema 2 uses Delegated Admin, based on Identity Server.
As far as I know, failover is not in this product.

Problem while executing my package from a different schema

Hi,
I developed a package.
Now when i try to execute my package( which is in Schema1) from a different schema(Sc2) in the same database(9.2.0.1)
i.e. execute <Sc1>.<package_name.Package_main_proc>;
I'm able to execute the package successfully.. but .. my package is deleting all records in all the tables used by the package !!
If I run the same package from my schema(Sc1).. everything is working fine.
i.e. its deleted only unwanted records after executing the whole package.
Can anyone pls help me.

I'm sorry for asking a really vague question.
I included all the dbms_output.put_line() in my code. As i executed in my schema. I couldnt find any error.
So now, instead of calling my package from Sc1.
I compiled my package in Sc2( I dint get any errors) and then executed it.
Even now data is deleted from the tables.
So now i tried thru another schema(SC3)..
again compiled it and executed it.. now everything is working fine.
So to my understanding i just there is some dependency is Schema 2. But i'm not able to figure it out as i'm not getting any error.
Am i going is right direction. If not please correct me .

Forms pulling Multiple Records from an XML Schema and XML data files - Adobe LiveCycle Designer

I built a form in Adobe LiveCycle with an xml schema and data file. The problem is with how the form renders the xml data file.
I have a statement element that consists of about 6 fields (statementID, statementName, statementAddress, statementCountry, statementZip, statementDate, etc) of data in the schema that allows for multiple iterations - so one xml data file can contain multiple statements. These fields allow for null values.
But here's the problem: When any of the statements - say statement 2 of 6 - has a null value in one of the fields, if the xml data file doesn't have a placeholder
(example of placeholder: <statementName type="String"/> )in the xml for that field, my form pulls the field value from the NEXT statement.
This corrupts all the rest of the statement records, as this field is shifted up for all the rest.
I know that in the past I haven't needed a placeholder when a field was null. But I'm wondering if when the data allows for multiple records the xml data file needs to generate the placeholder. And where is the problem? In the Schema? The xml data file? My form? And the 64-thousand-dollar question: How to fix it?

If your <statement> element is the one that repeats, it should be bound to a subform with the binding string of something like $.statement[*]. Then in that subform should be your fields and they should have bindings of $.statementID, $.statementName, $.statementAddress, etc.

How do you join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery

I am trying to join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery. I can extract data from each of the tables without a problem. However, when I combine the select statements using a subquery I get the Oracle error *'ORA-00936: missing expression'*. Since each SELECT statement executes on its own without error I don't understand what is missing. The result set I am trying to get is to match up the LINE_ID from PDTABLE_12_1 in schema DD_12809 with the MAT_DESCRIPTION from table PDTABLE_201 in schema RA_12809.
The query is as follows:

I believe you are receiving the error because you are trying to JOIN on a column that doesn't exist. For example you are trying to join on FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS but that column does not exist in the subquery.
If you want to do a straight join without a subquery you could do the following
SELECT DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.LINE_ID
,       FAB.MAT_DESCRIPTION
FROM    DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1
JOIN    RA_12809.PDTABLE_201    AS FAB ON DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS HTH!

Workspace to parse SQL statements from multiple database schema's

When go through the following link of workspace admin user :
Home>HTML DB Workspace Administration>Manage Services>Schema Reports>Workspace Schemas there I saw "Your workspace has the privilege to parse SQL statements using the following database schemas. Note that the terms database schema and database user can be used interchangeably.
" at the right pane.
So how can i make my workspace to parse SQL statements from multiple database schema's ?That must be listed there .But i have only one schema in view ? Can i make it multiple ?If then How ?
Anybody have an idea ?

Assign as many schemas to your workspace as you want using the administration app. Read about it in the doc.

Showing tables from the right schema in Visual Studio Server Explorer

I have a 10g Oracle database with quite a few schemas. My user id has access to all these schemas. Once I am connected to the database using the connection string stored in Web.Config, I am able to do CRUD operations on any table in the database through code. What I want to do is, in the Server Explorer of Visual Studio 2008, create a connection to the database so that I can see all the objects in the Explorer. Though the connection is successful, the problem is the tables and other objects shown in the explorer is not from the schema I want. How would I display the objects from the right schema in the database in Visual Studio Server Explorer? In other words, how would I tell the Server Explorer to display objects from a specific schema? Any help is hightly appreciated. Thanks.

This query returns correct result and seems reasonable.
Assume that the setup in BI Administration is the same for both environment, why the first situation returns query that are separated?

I have made the same remark but not with two different environment and same design.
What can influence the construction of two queries ?
Here some ideas :
- if you have of course two connections pools (I assume not)
- if in our database features (double click on the icon and choose the tab feature), full outer join is not supported
But I have this two requirement on my laptop and I can see that I have also two sql fired.
What you can do is to make a comparison of your two repository.
In the administration tool, File/Compare.
The result will be very interesting.

How to export and import dependent tables from 2 different schema

I have a setup where schema1 has table 1 and schema 2 has table2. And table 1 from schema1 depends upon table 2 from schema 2.
I would like to export and import these tables only and not any other tables from these 2 schemas with all information like grants,constraints.
Also will there be same method for Oracle 10g R1,R2 and Oracle 11G.

Not sure what this means.
As I am interested in only 2 tables I think I need to use table mode. But if I try to run export with both tables names, it says table mode support only one schema at a time. Not sure then How would the constraints would get exported in that case.

Hi,
Before you start, you should probably take a backup copy of your design (the .dmd file and associated folder), in case the update does not work out as you had hoped.
You need to use Import > Data Dictionary again, to start the Data Dictionary Import Wizard.
In step 1 use a suitable database connection that can access the relevant table definitions.
In step 2 select the schema (or schemas) to import. The "Import to" field in the lower left part of the main panel allows you to select which existing Relational Model to import into (or to specify that a new Relational Model is to be created).
In step 3 select the tables to import. (Note that if there are an Foreign Key constraints between the new tables and any tables you had previously imported, you should also include the previous tables, otherwise the Foreign Key constraints will not be imported.)
After the import itself has completed, the "Compare Models" dialog is displayed. This shows the differences between the model being imported and the previous state of the model, and allows you to select which changes are to be applied.
Just selecting the Merge button should apply all the additions and changes in the new import.
Having updated your Relational Model, you can then update your Logical Model. To do this you repeat the "Engineer to Logical Model". This displays the "Engineer to Logical Model" dialog, which shows the changes which will be applied to the Logical Model, and allows you to select which changes are to be applied.
Just selecting the Engineer button should apply all the additions and changes.

Does anyone know how to create a skeleton XML instance from the mandatory fields taken from an XML Schema?
There might be a way with XSLT, however I cannot find the relevant tutorials for this issue.

Can't see objects from all db schemas in AV when creating a FGA Policy

Hi all,
I have installed Audit Vault successfully but when I try to create a FGA policy, in the Object field the objects from certain schemas don't appear in the list. I tried to verify if the user that the Agent uses to connect to the source database can see objects from all the schemas, so I connected to the source database trough SQL*Plus with this user and did a select on the table ALL_OBJECTS and could see all the objects.
Does anyone know if this could be a product bug? I have installed the version 10.2.3.2.
