Configure OSB 11g to use the same domain as SOA Suite 11g

Hi,
A quick question on OSB Installation and extend the weblogic domain created for soa for OSB also. Please guide me what i am following is the correct path.
I followed the soa 11g and osb 11g installation doc from Eric Elzinga blog also checked oracle doc. Am quite confused about the directory structure to cofigure SOA Suite 11g and OSB 11g.
After SOA suite install , I Configure Oracle SOA Suite by following the below path
Run: middleware/wlserver_10.3/common/bin/config.exe (followed the blog ON OSB 11g Installation from Eric Elzinga).
I have seen another path to configure soa suite from oracle doc
SOA_ORACLE_HOME\common\bin\config.cmd
eg: E:\oraclehome\11g\middleware\Oracle_SOA1\common\bin\config.cmd
both directory str are correct?
After OSB installation , to configure OSB , I choose to reuse the SOA Suite domain to extend it with the Oracle Service Bus components. so in that case , is it the right directory structure I am following is
<Middleware_Home>\oracle_common\common\bin\config.bat.
eg: E:\oraclehome\11g\middleware\oracle_common\common\bin\config.bat

Eventually you configure the weblogic domain always (either it is for SOA or OSB or BPM or all), so you should use middleware/wlserver_10.3/common/bin/config.exe

I know iWeb is no longer supported but I still find it ok to manage my web site.
I would like to work on the site from two macs. I thought I could just use the same Domain.sites2 on both macs but: if I move Domain.sites2 to dropbox folder, when I launch iWeb it does not know about it and creates a new empty Domain.sites2 in the Library/iWeb folder
I do not want to have to manually make a copy of Domain.sites2 to Dropbox and then to the other mac's Library every time I switch computer.

I am a teacher with 7 iPads for my room with no VPP or Apple Configurator. May I use the same Apple ID for each of the devices with a separate password for each device?

Password to what, exactly? If you're referring to the screen lock, each iPad can have a separate passcode, since that's not tied to an Apple ID. If that's not what you mean, please post back and clarify what password you're referring to and what you wish to accomplish.

Using Oracle 8i DB in SOA suite 11g

Good Morning.. Hope all are doing good.
I need a permanent solution or some work around for my below issue:
We were on SOA suite 10.1.3.4 and now we are migrating to SOA suite 11.1.1.5
We have legacy system which has Oracle 8i DB.
For some of our interfaces we are using this 8i DB for intergration.
But 11g SOA suite doenst support Oracle 8i DB.
But is there any option or any sort of work around so that we can use this?
Any option, suggestion, work around are most welcome.
Hope I will have some options to try with, and resolve this issue.

1. Yes, what you want is very much possible. I would like to clarify few things hopefully if you are not already aware of this.
2. Earlier SOA 10g is on top of Oracle's OAS/OC4J. Now SOA 11.5 is on top of the Weblogic Server app server which is from BEA. When you create SOA 11.5 (or any soa 11.x domain), to store all meta-data you need atleast 2 minimum schemas in some Oracle Database like SOA_INFRA, MDS. These schemas are created using a giant utilty sql script(s) called RCU (Repository Creation Utility). Now this RCU can work only with Oracle 10g and 11g databases and NOT oracle 8i DB. But remember this is only to store all the Process/Task information in Meta-Data tables which you hardly change or modify.
3. So go ahead and upgrade to SOA 11.5 and use latest Oracle 11g or 10g database for RCU. Now comes your old legacy usecase, which needs some data from Oracle 8i db. This means it is a custom application or custom usecase that connects to Oracle 8i. From Weblogic Admin Console, you can create something called Data Source (having a connection pool) and give DB Host, port, sid, username/password of your 8i db. And choose Oracle 10 g thin drivers. If I am not wrong, Oracle 10g drivers should support oracle 8i db also. Using this DataSource JNDI name, you can do pretty much everything either from Java Code, EBJ code or from the Workflow application.
4. As other users mentiones, you can always use DB Adapter to connect to this 8i DB. Worst case, I am not a DB Expert. But in Oracle 11g or 10 g database, I wonder if you can create like a DB Link to connect to your old 8i Database. DB experts can help here.
5. Finally if none of the above solutions work, you can always write a simple JAVA/EJB code to connect to your database in very primitive way directly giving db host, port, sid, username, plain text password and if required add 8i DB oc4j jar in classpath. Then use java embedded or ejb adapter to pull this data into your bpel process. Hopefully you may not end up here.
In conclusion, yes it should be possible to access your data from 8i database but SOA Domain should point to ORacle 10g/11g DB only though for its meta-data etc.

Cannot start managed server domains for SOA Suite 11g with Weblogic

When I remove boot.properties file from $MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_projects/domains/dummy_domain/servers/AdminServer/security
I am able to start AdminServer, however, the ManagedServers do not start. When I try to use boot.properties file for AdminServer it will not start neither will Managed Servers.
If anyone has idea how to resolve the issue, please let me know. I have tried using the following commands to change the passwords for ManagedServers to no success:
cd /weblogic1033/oracle/user_projects/domains/dummy_domain/security
java -cp /weblogic1033/oracle/wlserver_10.3/server/lib/weblogic.jar:$CLASSPATH weblogic.security.utils.AdminAccount newuser newpassword .
It works but fails to change the password. I also tried changing settings for LDAP and security in the admin console to no success in resolving this issue.

Take a backup of ldap folder under servers/managedServerName/data folder and delete those and thn restart managed servers,

Start process from global creation using a signal in Oracle SOA Suite 11g

I want to start a process using a signal or an automatic activity from a link in the BPM workspace. The only way I have found to do that is using an initiator human task activity, but I just want to execute some script activities without a task flow.

Some considerations:
- The path <DOMAIN_HOME>/lib is usually used to place shared libs to the Admin server (jdbc libs to allow connection factory configuration, for example)
- The path <OSS_HOME>/soa/modules/oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1 is the right place to put shared libs that will be used by SOA composite applications (like javaAction implementations for Fault Handling Framework or libs called within Java Embedding). See the readme file inside this directory to know how it works.
Also, changes in the startWeblogic script will affect the JVM of the Admin Server. To apply changes to managed servers, like the soa_server, make your changes in the startManagedServer script.
Lastly, pay attention in the parameter you are passing to the JVM. The correct parameter is -Dlog4j.configuration=file:<PATH> and not -Dlog4j.configuration=<PATH> as you are using.

Multiple products in the same domain

Hello,
I installed the following 12.1.3 products on my Linux configuration :
- Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure
- Oracle Enterprise Repository
- Oracle HTTP Server (managed by WLS)
- SOA Suite Quick Start for Developers
- BPM Quick Start for Developers
Then I installed required patches and I created database schemas with RCU.
My question is what's the configuration process if I want to configure all these products in the same domain?
Do I have to run config.sh script for each product or running config.sh one time for all products is the solution?

I am having exactly the same issue. Once I configure jps-config.xml file to use my custom authenticator and login into the worklist app, the following gets thrown. I was wondering if you need map some roles to the existing users in the Custom Authenticator.

Integration with PeopleSoft Applications Using Oracle SOA Suite 11g BPEL

Hi,
I'm integrating BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 Application on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 11g. The BPEL invokes the web service method generated from Peoplesoft Component Interface in a synchronuos manner.
I have deployed the BPEL in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper successfully but I have problem in configuring the BPEL node in Peoplesoft side using Oracle SOA Suite 11g(FMW) . I had done the integration of BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 10g earlier successfully by configuring BPEL node properties as follows:
BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:8888/BPELConsole (System with Oracle SOA Suite 10g server for deployment)
BPEL DOMAIN : default
Using this BPEL node configuration, I was able to ping the BPEL console of Oracle SOA Suite 10g from peoplesoft and hence complete the integration successfully.
Now in order to acomplish Business rules and other functionality, the BPEL application has been developed in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper 11g. This time I'm not able to configure the BPEL node in Peoplesoft for this integration as I'm assuming there is no separate BPEL console in Oracle SOA Suite 11g. All the BPEL deployments are administered in console (11g console used for deployment of BEPL)
http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server - Fusion Middleware).
So when I Configured the BPEL node property in Peoplesoft as :

When I searched the OTN discussion forum on BPEL console for Oracle SOA Suite 11g, all threads point that there is no separate BPEL console unlike Oracle SOA Suite 10g. Also most of the articles for Integration with Peoplesoft Application using SOA 11g do not state any specific configuration setting for property of Peoplesoft BPEL node in order to integrate with BPEL 11g. The examples published in OTN still point towards screen shots of integration using SOA Suite 10g.
So I'm not able to proceed in this regard.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

How to send email to a SMTP server over a secure channel using STARTTLS setting of a send connector (Exchange and SMTP server are in the same domain)

I’m trying to send email using exchange send connector STARTTLS setting to the SMTP server. I have read multiple documents on configuring TLS for send connector, but they talks about outbound connections to internet facing servers. My Exchange 2013 and SMTP
server is in the same domain (let’s say A.com) and I’m creating dummy domains on my SMTP server (e.g.
[email protected],
[email protected] ) and their respective send connectors on the exchange server end. In the smart host section added the IP address of the SMTP server and in the scoping section added the SMTP domain address (e.g. dummy1.local ). In the FQDN field, added
the FQDN of the exchange server 2013 which certificate is enabled with SMTP service.
Could you tell me a step by step procedure, where I’m going wrong or any extra settings needs to added?
Presently, it is giving me an error that 530 5.5.1 TLS encrypted connection is required.
Note: I’ve created the Microsoft CA certificates for the SMTP and exchange servers and imported them in the personal certificate container. In which, the exchange certificate is created with FQDN name of the server and enabled for the SMTP service.
I’m using OPENSSL certificate for making the SMTP server TLS enabled. (let me know, if I need to import the OPENSSL certificate anywhere on the exchange end)?

I'm trying to established a HTTP over TLS connection. I'm not using mutual TLS between these two server.

If I have two Root CA in the same Domain, Do I have to configure two seperate locations for the CRLs

Can someone please help me with the following question :)
I asked the question, can you have two Enterprise Root CA in the same AD domain. This question was kindly answered by Paul
here the answer was Yes.
As far as I believe the two important aspects from a client point of view (e.g. IE on Windows 7 PC for example) are
1: Public key of the CA (e.g. the CA cert published in AD and therefore downloaded to the X509 store on your PC)
2: CRL (published via LDAP (in Configuration partition of AD), HTTP/S or File Share)
I believe as long as you have access to the above two you can turn the CA off if you want.
I believe the location of the CRL is detailed in the CDP which is detailed on the Certs issued but a given CA, so the client can look in the Cert and see what it states about the CDP and thereby get the list of revoked certs.
If all of the above is correct?
when I add a second Root CA to the same Domain, do I need to use a CA setup file (e.g. the text file, I believe with a .inf extension) to tell the CA setup routine to place its CDP at a location other than the default location in case it overwrites
the existing CRL at the default location. Basically I do not want to overwrite (delete) the current CRL when installing another Root CA or does the fully qualified X500 name of the CDP include the CA Name (and therefore be unique) and it will not over write
the original?

Enterprise CAs are not intended to be offline. Therefore, you should not turn off them. If these root CAs issue certificates only to subordinate CAs, then you should consider to implement offline Standalone (not Enterprise) Root CAs.
