  • How to create a Access Port in ASR901

    Hi
I was tried to configured an ASR901 access port for my customer POC in ASR 901 but fail.
It does not support for switchport access VLAN commad .
I have suscessful setup a port-channel in ASR901 to the Alcatel switch and the LACP is up and in bundded state.
The question is how can I configure a access port mode (VLAN 100) in ASR901? The PC will need to
perform a PC Ping test from the ASR901 access port to the ALU Access port via the port-channel that I have configured.
I try to plug in my PC to the port Gi0/4 then run the Ping test from my PC to another PC that connected to Alcatel switch but fail as well.

  • RBAC ISE 1.2 Data Access Permissions

    Hello,
We are trying to configure ISE 1.2 patch 7 RBAC profiles.
The idea is that regional admins can only manage their users.
Under User Identity Groups we have several groups for example:
    UK-Users
    Brazil-Users
    Russia-Users
Each identity is then added to the correct group based on their location / country.
We also have a UK-Admin group that contains the UK admins.
Next I crate the permissions and policy...
We have a Menu access permission (Identity Menu Access) that only allows the access to Administration > Identity Management.
We then configure a Data access permission (UK Data Access) that only allows access to  User Identity Groups > UK-Users.
Next I set a policy that says UK-Admin group can only access Identity Menu + UK Data).
    Then test...
I create a user and add them to the UK-Admins group.
When I login as a UK admin I can see all the data across all user idnetity groups.
I would expect to only see the users in the UK-Users group, but I dont!
    Confused.

  • What is the recommenden access port QoS configuration for 8900/9900 video enabled phones

    Hi all,
we are currently starting to roll out some video enabled 9900 and 8900 phones in our network. In the past we did not use video and configured the access ports on our Catalyst 2960 switches with "auto qos voip ciscp-phone". This however creates a policy which does not include a class-map to correctly handle the AF41 video traffic coming from those phones. I have thougth about extending the autoqos policy with a AF41 class-map but am not sure if this is the right way to do it.
That's what I have in mind:
    class-map match-all AUTOQOS_VIDEO_DATA_CLASS
      match ip dscp af41
    class-map match-all AUTOQOS_VOIP_DATA_CLASS
      match ip dscp ef
    class-map match-all AUTOQOS_DEFAULT_CLASS
      match access-group name AUTOQOS-ACL-DEFAULT
    class-map match-all AUTOQOS_VOIP_SIGNAL_CLASS
      match ip dscp cs3
    policy-map AUTOQOS-SRND4-CISCOPHONE-POLICY
     class AUTOQOS_VOIP_DATA_CLASS
       set dscp ef
      police 128000 8000 exceed-action policed-dscp-transmit
     class AUTOQOS_VIDEO_DATA_CLASS
       set dscp af41
      police 1500000 8000 exceed-action policed-dscp-transmit
     class AUTOQOS_VOIP_SIGNAL_CLASS
       set dscp cs3
      police 32000 8000 exceed-action policed-dscp-transmit
     class AUTOQOS_DEFAULT_CLASS
       set dscp default
      police 10000000 8000 exceed-action policed-dscp-transmit
How do you guys do it ? Is there some documentation for this ?
Thank you for your kind help

    Hi
You have to keep this table on your mind. Your configuration is fine if your configuration for SD video , but if for HD video , it is not ok you have to change video bandwidth at least 5M.
    Traffic Type
    Layer 2 CoS
    Layer 3 IP Precedence
    Layer 3 DSCP
    Voice RTP1
    5
    5
    EF
    Voice control
    3
    3
    AF31
    Video conference
    4
    4
    AF41
    Streaming video (IP/TV)
    1
    1
    AF13
    Data
    0-2
    0-2
    0-AF23
*Interactive Video "AF41"- Sensitive but can tolerate packet loss of about 1% and latency almost same as voice.
*Streaming Video "AF13" - Less sensitive - can tolerate about 4-5% packet loss and latency of about 4-5 seconds.
*HD video conference will require between 5M to 16M , but SD video conference will use 384K to 1 M
Note:-Video QOS , if you will assume that your video conference will use around 384K , you have to add 20% because video conference include voice so the total bandwidth 460K.

  • Configure Voice and Data VLAN in CISCO SF 300 8P

I have a couple of Cisco SF 300 8P and 24 P Switches. I have voice and Data VLAN configured as :
    Data VLAN : Default 145.17.59.0/24
    Voice VLAN : VLAN 20 172.22.20.0/24
I have different DHCP servers as for Data VLAN we have physical server which is configured for 145.17.59.* IP Scope and Voice VLAN DHCP Server is configured in Gateway router with option 150.
This configuation works fine with other cisco swiches like 2960 and 3750 etc except CISCO SF 300 8P and 24P. I was trying to configure both voice and Data VLAN in these CISCO Switches so that CISCO phone (Model 6941) shold get IP from Voice VLAN and PC should get IP from Data VLAN DHCP Server. I have tried several techniques like LLDP, Port to VLAN Config etc.
Can anyone please guide me/help on this.
    Regards,
    A K.M.Sayeed

Hi A.K.M., with Cisco phones you should be able to simply set auto voice VLAN to be VLAN20.
    voice vlan id 20
You should ensure CDP and/or LLDP are enabled as well. I would check this in web GUI. DHCP for the phones can come from the switch, a DHCP server on a VLAN20 access port or you can use dhcp helper to redirect DHCP to server elsewhere.
If you prefer or have issues with CDP or LLDP you can also program ports as trunks and add tagged VLAN 20 to them.  In this scenario you need to insure inter-vlan routing is working and that phones download config file with corrrect VLAN config.
These switches do not run ios so they are similar but different than catalyst switches you referred to.

  • Setting port for Voice + Data

    Hi,
I have a 3850 stack (core & access - server or user) and a couple 3750 switches ("user" access) I'm setting up to support a VOIP install.  The 3750s are trunked to the 3850 stack.  All are at current recommended or greater IOS.
Currently I'm trying to determine if the settings I plan on using for ports is correct.  I still have routing to button down but I need the ports proper first.  I'm a IOS/Cisco newb so please be patient.
    Pertinent info:
There are 3 VLANs, VLAN1 - management, VLAN2 - Data, and VLAN10 - voice.  VLAN10 will be marked as the voice VLAN on the switch.
The "user" access devices I will connect to a port are either a PC, a Yealink phone, or a Yealink phone+PC.  PC traffic arrives untagged.  Yealinks will send a untagged DHCP request, receive a DHCP data, reissue a DHCP request with a VLAN10 tag, and all future communication will be vlan10 tagged.
Here's what I have put together so far for the "user" access ports.  Command is for one port (I'll use interface range when I actually do this):
    config t
: #--clear all settings on port
    default interface G1/0/1
    : #-- enter interface setup
    interface G1/0/1
    description VoiceData
: #-- set port to trunk mode
    switchport mode trunk
: #-- set port to 802.1q which allows tagged traffic (phone)
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
: #--we only allow tagged 10, all else is untagged & switch tagged to vlan 2.
    switchport trunk allow vlan 10
    switchport trunk native vlan 2
: #--speed port init with portfast
    spanning-tree portfast
    end
Am I on the right track?  Other commands I should include?  Will the switch prioritize the VLAN 10 traffic automatically since I have VLAN10 set as voice or do I need to issue a switchport voice vlan 10 command for the port?
    TIA

Thanks Charles, that appears to be working.  Until I get this fully working I'm not going to split management & data, so vlan1 & 10 is all for now.
I'm now trying to get connectivity to the server (VMWare VM).  I don't seem to be able to get any communication when it is set to static in the vlan10 subnet (10.10.1.1/24).  With the NIC in vlan1 subnet (dhcp) it works perfectly.  I tried smartport desktop, smartport trunk, the settings above (both of them) and nothing seems to work.  The server will need to talk in both subnets/vlans.
Server cannot ping out and the switch cannot ping it.  Initially I thought it was a routing issue.  Settings look good though (core switch):
    ip address 10.1.4.254 255.255.0.0
    interface Vlan1
     description Mgmt+Data
     ip address 10.1.4.254 255.255.0.0
     ip helper-address 10.1.1.13
    interface Vlan10
     description Voice
     ip address 10.10.1.254 255.255.255.0
     ip helper-address 10.10.1.1
    ip default-gateway 10.1.4.3
    ip http server
    ip http secure-server
    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.1.4.3
I did some dhcp debugging for a phone and it communicates with the vlan1 dhcp server but when it then tries to talk to 10.10.1.1 (VM server) there's no response.
I then figured I had a NIC problem, but with it working perfectly fine with the vlan1 subnet setup my OS appears good.
All this leads me to believe I don't have the port set up properly.
    Ideas?

  • How do you configure the set of port to use for FTP passive data connection

I was able to start the ftp server xml db and connect to it locally. When I tried to connect to it from home, I was able to log in but when i do a "get" command the sessions hangs. I also tried passive mode and do a "get" command and it gives me a connection refused error. I am using the default port 2100. I think this might be a firewall issue with the data connection port. I am not sure which range of ports to open for the passive ftp connection on the server side or where to go and set them for for the ftp server to use? Or this issue might not be firewall related??? Any thoughts. Thanks.

This is a typical problem with VPN/Firewall software and FTP on ports other than 21.
When you open the FTP data connection the FTP Server identifies which port the data will be sent on using the PORT command which is sent on the command port (typically 21 with a normal FTP server, 2100 by default with XDB). THe client then opens that PORT to accept the data (file, output of an ls etc).
As I understand it most VPN/Firewall are configured to monitor 21 for 'PORT' requests. They then understand to allow connection on the PORT number passed on the command PORT. Hence with Port 21 firewall / VPN software is not a problem. However since the XDB command PORT is something other than 21 they do not see / honour the PORT commands from the server and hence the client cannot open the data connection on the specified PORT
As to how to solve it, I wish I knew (After 5 years I still can't use XDB FTP from home to a machine in the office once the VPN tunnel is open :( ). I'm sure it's going to be firewall / VPN software specific and may need the VPN servers to be configured.
The best bet would be to run the FTP server on 21...
Add the following line to your listener.ora file
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = hostname) (PORT = 21))
    (PROTOCOL_STACK = (PRESENTATION = FTP) (SESSION = RAW)))
and then restart the listener as root
    Start the listener as root.
At the operating system prompt, enter tnslsnr with optional command line arguments. The usage is as follows:
tnslsnr [listener_name] [-user user] [-group group]
    where:
    Table 4-3 tnslsnr Utility Options
    Option Description
    listener_name
Specify the name of the listener. If omitted, the default name LISTENER will be used.
    -user user
Specify the user whose privileges the listener will use when super user (root) privileges are not needed. After performing the privileged operations, the listener will give up root privileges irreversibly.
    -group group
Specify the group whose privileges the listener will use when super user (root) group privileges are not needed. After performing the privileged operations, the listener will give up root group privileges irreversibly.
The listener will temporarily switch to the provided user and group immediately after startup. All subsequent operations will be done with the specified user and group privileges, except the system calls necessary to listen on configured endpoints. The listener will revert to super user (root) for a short period of time to listen on reserved addresses, such as TCP ports less than 1024. After the listener starts listening on all of its endpoints configured in listener.ora, it will switch to the specified user and group irreversibly. Therefore, the listener will give up the root privilege that it initially had. In the current release, -user and -group command line arguments only accept user and group identifiers specified in numeric form.
For example, to execute a root listener called mylsnr and have it use privileges of a user identified

  • How do I Configure my Router to forward incoming data for port x ???

How do I configure my router to forward incoming data for port whatever?
I need this for my video games.

Depending on which router you have look under Gaming and Applications or system management for a Forwarding tab.  From there you select (or create) the port needed for your game with the IP address to the PC with the games you are using.  You may also have to configure Port Triggering for that game/port range/and IP to the hosting PC.

  • PC Voice VLAN Access

    Hi all,
I've just been testing using Cisco IP Phones with the Linksys SRW224P switch (which do not support CDP and automatic voice VLAN assignment). It's all pretty straightforward, however, I found I needed to enable the "PC Voice VLAN Access" setting for the IP phone to get the PC (attached to the phone) communicating on the network. With this setting disabled, the PC cannot communicate on the network, even if the correct data VLAN ID is configured in the "PC VLAN" setting on the phone. This same issue is also replicated if I disable CDP on a Cisco switch and manually configure the voice VLAN ID on the phone.
Any ideas as to why this is the case? My understanding of the PC Voice VLAN Access setting is that it enables an attached PC to access the voice VLAN (i.e. tag frames with the voice VLAN ID and send on the voice VLAN, and receive frames on the voice VLAN). The traditional port mirroring issues associated with this setting aren't an issue nowadays, as you now have the additional "Span to PC Port" setting to control this.

    Hi Eric,
Please make sure you are sniffing the correct interface. For example, if you have more than one interface (such as Wireless Ip address or VPN
connection) select the one you want to sniff. Please check the following link, it shows you how to set up a sniffer capture using wireshark:

    Hi Kirpal
Can you try this it might help as its an known issue of getting event id 's 26361,26380 try out & lets see if it helps.
The manifest files are located on the RMS at the \Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\ root directory. The manifest files will need to be edited for the config and sdk service on affected RMS. The file names are:
    Microsoft.Mom.Sdk.ServiceHost.exe.config
    Microsoft.Mom.ConfigServiceHost.exe.config
In between the EXISTING <runtime> and </runtime> lines – you need to ADD a NEW LINE with the following:
    <generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>
This solution disables CRL checking for the specified execute-ables, permanently.

  • Voice & Data VLAN Implementation

    Hello,
We have recently purchased an asterisk based IP PBX, it is hosted in-house which uses Grandstream IP GXP1405 Phones.  We have configured and installed. we are able to receive calls and dial out.  Unfortunately our infrastructure was not up to par with the PBX.  We purchased an SG300 20 port switch, with two RV320 VPN Dual Wan Routers.  We have a total of 4 offices.  this is the current setup:
    HQ 1 - Asterisk Based IP PBX, RV320 VPN router, & SG300
    HQ2 - RV320 VPN Router
Office 1 - Simple Linksys Router
Office 2 - Simple Linksys Router
We have established connectivity using the Tunnels incorporated onto the RV320 Routers, so we are able to connect to the HQ locations.
However since the RV320 has dual WAN setup's, we have now have 2 Internet Connections independent from each other.  Our goal is to perform the following:
WAN 1 = to be used for Data Traffic
WAN 2 = to be used for Voice Traffic
We would like to do this by separating the VLAN's and directing the traffic from one VLAN to a specific WAN using the equipment above.
We are having issues establishing the voice VLAN and redirecting the traffic once created.
Any help would be appreciated it.
    Thanks,

    Hi Soiser,
My name is Mehdi from Cisco Technical Support,
For the Voice & Data VLAN Implementation we can manage to do it with different way :
First example hard coding the voice vlan
    1. we can have the switch Layer 2
    2. Configure on the switch Vlan Data and Vlan voice (in this example will have Vlan 1 Data and 100 is Voice vlan) --> under Vlan management --> Create Vlan
    3. Configure the port from where the switch is connected to the Router and change it to Trunk port and add vlan voice (until here we made the data traffic as untagged traffic and voice traffic as tagged) by going under Vlan managemnent --> Port Vlan Membership --> select port 20 --> click on join vlan --> by default you have 1UP in the right so now select vlan 100 and select Tagged and move it to the right
    4. And the same trunk port with both vlan for all the port on the switch where you have voice and data
    5. here we done with the switch
    Second Using Auto-voice Vlan implementation
    1. We Can have the switch also layer 2
    2. we need to configure the AUTO-Voice Vlan under vlan management--Voice Vlan --> Properties by changing the voice vlan 100 and we have two option to choose
Dynamic Voice VLAN: Enable Auto Voice VLAN OR  Enable Telephony OUI :  the difference is when you have Cisco Phone enable                                 auto-voice vlan and the phone will take all the informations like (Vlan ,..) via CDP protocol
if you have 3rd part Phone select Enable Telephony OUI and configure the first 3 bits of the MAC address of the phones by going under voice                 vlan -->Telephony OUI --> add 3 bits of the MAC address of the phone but not for all the phones is by model remember first 3 bits of mac
address is the model of the device!
Auto Voice VLAN Activation: select "Immediate"
    3. and enable telephony OUI interface
-------> We didn't configure voice vlan the switch will assign voice vlan to the phones when they connect to the switch by CDP or Telephony OUI
Now going to the router :
    - By default RV320 Has Vlan ID 100 with subnet 192.168.3.1 so we can change only the ip address of vlan interface or if you deleted by some reason we will need to create a voice vlan by going to Setup-->Network--> multiple Subnet Table --> Create the Vlan interface in my example i will put 10.10.10.1 and mask 255.255.255.0
    - Just to check if you going to port management --> Vlan Membership you will see vlan 1 is untagged and vlan voice is tagged this also in our switch !! you can connect the switch from any port of the router since all of them are the same
    - if you wantr to change and coding only port 4 for example as trunk and remove other port the voice vlan you can
---> Now should work the voice vlan and data vlan
But we have two WAN and you want to bind the WAN 1 to Data and Wan 2 to Voice
we need to configure Protocol Binding
under System management --> Dual WAN --> Protocol Binding
there we can choose all traffic , source IP (voice network 10.10.10.1 - 10.10.10.254) , destination 1.0.0.1 to 223.255.255.254, and select WAN 2
and another rule but the source will be the data network and select WAN 1
This is it just example and how the Voice vlan work and how to use Protocol binding if you have two WAN
Please if you have the switch on L3 by some reason and you have SVI configured in the switch , please call the Cisco Technical Support Center we will be happy to help you to accomplish your need with layer 3 switch is almost the same few change and we need more information's from your topology that's why by phone is better !! :)

    Have a nice day

  • GE1/1/1 and GE1/1/2 ports on 3750 can be used as access port instead of trunk

Customer wants to plug in Server to spare GE1/1/1 and GE1/1/2 port on 3750 switch.
I was under impression those ports are designed for trunk only
is Cisco recommend to use GE1/1/1 and GE1/1/2 as access port instead of trunk ?
If we configure those ports as access ports, is there going to be any impact ?

Logically, those ports can be configured like any other.
Physically, of course, they are SFP and also physically they may have additional physical RAM buffer space to share between them.  (The latter is often useful for very busy ports, such as when used as uplinks/downlinks.)
