Configuring Cached Exchange for O365 click to run package

Hi Guys,
For Outlook 2013 we can configure the Cached Exchange mode using a registry setting in OCT
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179067.aspx
Group Policy registry path:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\policies\microsoft\office\15.0\ outlook\cached mode!enable
OCT registry path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\office\15.0\outlook\cached mode!enable
How can we include the setting for Click to run package in Configuration.xml file

  • Problems with getting O365 Click to Run to install on systems

    I have the click to run tool, my customized xml files, and the downloaded office files on a server share external to my CM server.
    The tool version is 15.0.4595.1000, and the Office version I have downloaded is 15.0.4605.1003
    I created the Application and set the application to call setup.exe /configure configuration.xml.
    My current configuration.xml looks like this (I have tried multiple variations of this):
    <Configuration>
     <Add Version="15.0.4605.1003"  OfficeClientEdition="32" >
      <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
        <Language ID="en-us" />
      </Product>
     </Add>
     <Updates Enabled="FALSE" />
     <Display Level="Full" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />
     <Logging Name="Office365Setup.log" Path="%temp%" />
     <Property Name="FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN" Value="TRUE" />
    </Configuration>
    My detection method is looking for the following: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClientX64\integratedoffice.exe (I got this detection method from here:
    http://www.itsdelivers.com/newsroom/office-365-configuration-manager/. I think this is what is causing the deployment to fail, but not certain)
    Once completed, I distributed the content to my DP for testing, and tried deploying it to myself on 2 separate machines; 1 has Office 2010, the other has no Office installed. In each case, I go to my User application portal, and click on the install button
    to initiate the O365 Office 2013 download and install to the local client, but I receive the following error in the Software Center:
    "There was a problem applying changes to the softwware... etc. The software change returned error code 0x426A(17002)."
    I've been unable to find what this error code signifies.

    Any ideas on how to resolve this?

    Well the configuration.xml file has the log path defined as %temp%. I cleared out all the old log files and the cached data, and tried running the application install again, and got the same results. The odd thing is that although in the configuration.xml
    file I defined the name to be ="Office365Setup.log", there is no such file with that specified name. I did find a log file under C:\Windows\temp with several error lines that seem to point to a problem accessing the source files:
    04/22/2014 09:23:02.863 OFFICECL (0x1538) 0x1518  Click-To-Run 00000 Medium CCS::GetStreamCabs: Caught OException, fallback not allowed for x-none. {"SessionID":"e19b23fb-8b9b-4321-a5f3-662840fa442f","GeoID":"244","Ver":"15.0.4605.1003","ErrorCode":"2","ErrorMessage":"FileNotFound
    (Source not reachable.)","AppVErrorSource":"","ErrorType":"FileNotFound"}
    I'm logged into the target machine as myself, so I should have full access to the network share when calling it through CM12.
    If I run setup.exe /configure configration.xml from a command line, the install succeeds with no errors.
    The setup.exe for O365ProPlus, is "special".
    When you launch setup.exe in a user-contact (e.g. when you are logged in as yourself), setup.exe launches in the current-user context, but then it spawns a second installer, and that second installer executes in the LocalSystem context (e.g. the computer account
    of the client machine), so, you must grant the computer account for the client machine read-access to the configured source. This is typically done by granting "Domain Computers" or "Authenticated Users" read-access to the source folder.
    It works when you launch it yourself, because your account is being used, and you will have granted yourself access to the source folder.
    This is documented in the O365ProPlus installation documentation.
    When using ConfigMgr, you should create the package/application so that it is "download-and-run-local", this way, the source folder for the installation will be in the client cache on the local machine.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219423(v=office.15).aspx#PrepareDeploy
    ! Important:
    The computer account for the computer on which you install Click-to-Run for Office 365 products must have read permission to the network share that contains the Office Deployment Tool, the customized Configuration.xml file, and the Click-to-Run for Office
    365 product and language files. If you cannot give read permission to the computer account, you can copy the files down to the computer from the network share, and then run Setup from the computer. After the installation is complete, you can delete those files
    from the computer.

  • Configure internal number for document in "depreciation run"

    Hi Experts!
    When I execute "Depreciation Run", it notice error:
    Create document number range 03 using internal number assignment
    Message no. AA776
    Diagnosis
    Processing terminated because the document number range 03 for year 2008 was set up with external number assignment.
    System Response
    For periodic posting of depreciation, you have to create a document number range with internal number assignment, since the document numbers are assigned from Financial Accounting.
    Procedure
    Change the number assignment for the number range 03 from external to internal in Customizing for Asset Accounting. See SAP Note 890976 for more information.
    Please tell me the way to configure internal number for document in "depreciation run"
    Thanks & Reguards
    Ngocpt.

    Hi,
    Go to transaction code FBN1
    In the change option go to document range 03.  IF its an external number assignment there is a tick in the box " ext".
    If you want to change it to internal you just have to remove the tick.
    Before doing so please check the document type used fo depreciation  and the corresponding number ranges assigned.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to remove Office 2013 (Click to run) package?

    I am having problems removing Office 2013 sequenced using Click to Run and is published to the machine as per MS guidelines.
    It's a member of a connection group with another application.
    I have tried many things:
    get-appvclientpackage | stop-appvclientpackage | remove-appvclientpackage.
    get-appclientconnectiongroup | remove-appvclientconnectiongroup
    The connection group and both applications remain.
    Error reported is that the application is still in use (no idea which one as it doesnt say). Task manager doesn't seem to list anything running from any virtual environment. I have tried viewing 'processes from all users' also.
    I unpublished the connection group and the applications from the App-V Management Server, then retried the above commands which didnt work.
    Tried rebooting after doing all the above, then retry PoSH commands and that didnt work either.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    Please try to delete user information from Registry with the following path:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected], then restart Lync client to test the issue again.
    Also, check if there is any duplicate copies of Lync updates on the issued computer. If that is the case, please remove the duplicate, restart Lync client to test again.

  • Disable Cache mode for a specific Mailbox

    Hi
    Is it posibble disable cache mode for a specific mailbox ??

    As per the information and details provided by you, to disable Cache Mode for a specific mailbox, please follow these steps: -
    The information provided by
    Amy.Wang is correct, Exchange has no built in function to disable cached mode for a specific mailbox. And to
    configure Cached Exchange mode setting by using Group Ploicy, please follow these steps: -
    To do this, first you need to download
    custom administrative template.
    Download and extract the templates to your domain controller.
    Start > Admistrative tools > Group Policy Management Console > either create a new policy and link it to your
    USERS or edit an existing policy.
    Navigate to:
    User Configuration > Policies > Administartive Templates
    Right click >
    Add/Remove Templates.
    Add > Navigate to the folder where you extracted the templates >
    ADM Folder > en-us folder (change depending on your locale) > Outlk14.adm > Open.
    Now Navigate to:
    User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Classic Administartive Templates > Microsoft Outlook 2010 > Account Settings > Exchange > Cached Exchange Mode.
    Locate “Use Cached Exchange Mode for new and existing Outlook profiles”
    Set the policy to
    Disabled > Apply OK > Close the policy editor. Locate “Use Cached Exchange Mode for new and existing Outlook Profiles”
    Then get the clients to log off and back on again, wait a couple of hours, or manually run
    “gpupdate/ force” on them.
    I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Office 2013 for O365 Intune Install (Click to Run)

    Hi Forum
    I have been trying to push Office 2013 click to run install through Intune.
    I want to use the source files in the Cloud rather than on a Network Share.
    So far I have:
    Downloaded the OCT and downloaded the Setup.exe and the Config.xml
    Changed the config file (a few times, testing and got this working using cmdline)
    I have run the /download and the /configure switch and managed to get this installing from the Cloud locally but not from Intune
    In Intune, I upload the Setup.exe (as primary) and my custom config.xml (is included) using this cmdline I deploy: setup.exe /configure configuration.xml (which managed to install the software locally)
    Then Deployed to the App Portal, I run the install and it fails at 50% every time.
    I have left the source path "empty" and with
    http://officecdn.microsoft.com/pr/?????????????? (link come from downloading .cab files)
    Is there something I am doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance
    NN

    HI,
    I wondered if anyone can help. I too would like to able to install Office 2013 from my Office 365 account to all PC's using Intune.
    I have tried to follow the documentation but cant get this to work. Here is where I am so far:
    Downloaded Office Deployment Tool for Click to run
    Ran the setup /download "Path to Config File"
    Used this Config file
    <Configuration>
    <Add OfficeClientEdition="32" >
        <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        </Product>
      </Add>
    <Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />
    < Logging Name="OfficeSetup.txt" Path="%temp%" />
    </Configuration>
    This downloaded OK but not sure where. I am unsure what to do after that. I am, at this point just trying to get it working locally. I ran
    setup /configure "Path to Config File"  that prompted me to run the Click to run install, however, this just flashes up on the screen and is gone.
    Please advise, I don't know when this should be so difficult
    Regards

  • How to configure Click-to-Run version of Outlook 2013 to run side-by-side with Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2010

    Hi, I am administering a cutover from Office Pro 2010 to Office Pro 2013 via our Office 365 E3 licenses. Before I start migrating mailboxes from our Exchange 2003 server to Exchange Online, I want to have our staff install Office Pro 2013 including Outlook
    2013 so they can have time to review it before we switch to the Exchange Online server in a couple of days. I know Outlook 2013 is not compatible with our Exchange 2003 server but I was hoping to be able to setup Outlook 2013 to connect to my Office 365 email
    address while keeping my msi installed version of Outlook 2010 for my Exchange 2003 email address.
    I am trying to test the capability of Outlook 2013 running side-by-side with my Outlook 2010 program. I have the "Click-to-Run" version installed on my Windows 7 64-bit machine however when I try to open Outlook 2013, I get an error message: "Another
    version of Outlook is currently running. Close it and try again."
    In reading in TechNet and other sources, it clearly states that both programs can run simultaneously which is what I need to do
    but obviously something is not configured correctly.
    Can you please help me get this configuration running or let me know if it is in fact not possible?
    Thanks!
    Frank

    Yes, it should be able to install side by side.
    The versions of Office that you install must be the same edition. For example, both installations of Office are the 32-bit edition.
    When you get the error
    "Another version of Outlook is currently running. Close it and try again.", go to task manager and end all existing
    outlook process.
    If the issue persists, do a repair for your Office suites in Control panel>Program and features>Office>Change>Repair

  • Office 2013 click to run: configure specific options like in /admin setup

    Hi,
    In an Office 2013 click-to-run install, how can we  set f.e. the Exchange server, disable Junk mail protection (we have a seperate system for that), disable RSS, username to be used in Outlook (%username%) etc?
    We have that when using the office 2013 setup.exe /admin but not in the click to run.
    I don't find these options in the config.xml reference: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179195%28v=office.15%29.aspx
    Please advise.
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

    Hi Jan,
    Click-To-Run version of Office 2013 does not contain the Office Configuration Tool (OCT). And the
    Config.xml file mentioned above is used to customize Windows Installer-based Office 2013 installations, not for Click-To-Run version of Office.
    To configure these specific options for Click-To-Run version of Office 2013, you can use
    Group Policy Administrative Template files (ADMX, ADML). The policy settings apply to both Windows Installer-based (MSI) and Click-to-Run version of Office 2013.
    Download link for the Group Policy Administrative Template files (ADMX, ADML):

    It's recommended to download and install
    Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • Fan is alway running on my new dv7-4290us. Should I exchange for a new one or is this normal?

    I just got my new dv7-4290us from the HP store and after a little while of playing with it, I noticed that the fan seems to always be running. It's not spinning very fast, just kind of a soft blowing or purring sound but audible for sure. Is this normal for this notebook or notebooks with quad cores and dedicated graphics? I called HP tech support and asked them if it was normal for the fan to run all the time, but they where kind of clueless with, 3 different guys giving me 3 different answers. I did mess around with some power management settings and the HP Thermal program but that didn't help. Turning off the fan always on setting in the bios just causes the fan to blow up every 20 seconds, so that is not a solution. There wasn't a bios update on the driver page, so I don't know about that as a fix. Otherwise everything seems to be functioning properly with no BSOD or lockups so far.  The computer doesn't seem to be running hot (core temps stay under 50°c under light load) and the fan doesn't sound unhealthy like it has a bad bearing or anything. I just want to know if the fan always running at a low speed thing is normal on these machines. From my expereince with notebooks the fan alway running is a sign that your system is not cooling properly, so I wanted to get a second opinion from fellow users before I go through the hastle of exchanging this for a new one.

    Does this happen on AC power only?  There maybe an option in BIOS for 'Fan always on while on AC power'.

  • How to reduce configuration cache file Quota size located in ( C:\Windows\ccmcache ) for all client from SCCM 2012 server

    How to reduce configuration cache file Quota size located in ( C:\Windows\ccmcache ) for all client from SCCM 2012 server
    Thanks in Advance
    NTRao

    Hi,
    There are numerous ways to change the cache size.
    You could deploy a vbscript to a collection of the devices.
    On Error Resume Next
    Dim UIResManager
    Dim Cache
    Dim CacheSize
    CacheSize=20000
    Set UIResManager = createobject("UIResource.UIResourceMgr")
    Set Cache=UIResManager.GetCacheInfo()
    Cache.TotalSize=CacheSize
    Or you could use a configuration item.
    http://blog.coretech.dk/heh/configuration-items-and-baselines-using-scripts-powershell-example/
    You can also use the right click tools by Now Micro on a collection, if all the servers are on this would be the easiest / quickest way.

    http://www.david-obrien.net/2013/02/how-to-configure-the-configmgr-client/
    select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID, SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType, SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name, SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier, SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup, SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System where SMS_R_System.OperatingSystemNameandVersion like '%6.2%'

  • Looking for help with respect to configuring MS Exchange server to handle attachments over 10 MB for forwarding to Salesforce (Email-to-case).

    Looking for help with respect to configuring MS Exchange server to handle attachments over 10 MB for forwarding to Salesforce (Email-to-case).
    Problem - SFDC does not create cases from emails that have more than 10 MB of attachments. Our clients will not go-live if their clients cannot send in emails with attachments over 10 MBs
    Potential resolution - Configure MS exchange to strip off the attachments(if over 10 MB) and store it in a public folder, forward the email to Salesforce (so the case gets created or the email
    is associated to an existing case), the client should have some way to know if the attachments were stripped off and should be able to dlownload the attachments and continue with case resolution.
    Any help is appreicated!
    Thanks

    Hi,
    From your description, you want to achieve the following goal:
    Configure Exchange to filter the attachments if the size is over 10 MB and store it in a public folder, and then forward the email to Salesforce.
    Based on my knowledge, I'm afraid that it can't be achieved. Exchange can filter messages with attachments, but it couldn't store these attachments on public folder automatically. Also, I don't see any transport rule can do it.
    Hope my clarification is helpful.
