Connect Unix to Windows

Question

I am at a loss - I have three current processes, all of which or bank shots that allow me to see my windows file servers from my web application which sits on a unix box. Is there a way to connect directly to my windows servers from my web application. My task is to allow the user to browse and select a file directory. The web application will then get the files under this directory and move them to the another unix box outside the firewall. Any suggestions or example links would be greatly appreciated.

Sure, I've done it m'self. :)
Client side: simple text interface. You read from an InputStream (such as System.in) and send that data through the socket. The socket's response is read and displayed on an OutputStream (such as System.out). No biggie.
Server side (on the Windows machine): You read a line from the socket's InputStream and call Runtime.getRuntime().exec(...) in one of its various forms. You fetch the resulting Process object. You write to that process anything you read from the socket and write to the socket anything you read from that process. Keep going until process is complete. Then, read another line from the socket's InputStream and repeat.
This pretty much gives you the ability to run things from a command-line level on Windows. If this seems choppy to you, try making your first command after login "cmd" and use that process to do other stuff.
Warning: you will be using the Windows command line interface. Which is terrible. You have been warned.
