Connect via internet NW2004s ABAP Edition

Hi guys,
I installed the abap version. It works fine from my local PC, but now I want to connect via internet to my PC at home. I configured a dyndns service and I am also able to reach my PC, but when I try to connect to the SAP system I get an error no 10061, saying "WSAECONNREFUSED connection refused". Am I not allowed to connect because it's a trial version, or do I have to change some settings?
Kind Regards
Stefan

For anyone who's interested I solved this by:
- Edit the Phone number for the bluetooth Modem and entering *99#
- For the modem, setting it's Maximum speed to the highest. In my case it was 921600.
- Go into Control Panel - Phone and Modem Options - Modems - Select Bluetooth Modem - Properties - Advanced tab and enter at+cgdcont=1,”IP”,”internet”
Dial the connection by going into My Bluetooth Places and double clicking on the icon. When prompted enter a blank userid and password. It should then connect to the Internet via your mobile !

  • FileMaker database connection via Internet

I want to be able to connect to a FileMaker Pro database that I can keep on a Mac connected to an AirPort Express. The AirPort is connected via Ethernet cable to a Hughes HN7000S satellite modem (my only Internet connection). Can another Mac using another Hughes satellite modem connect to the server Mac? The idea is to exchange data from that single database so the files on both computers can stay synchronized.

No. ARD is for remote control, observe and management of netwoked Macs. It does not do file synchronization.

  • Can't see printer or shares when connected via Internet Sharing

I recently switched from a 2006 to a 2008 Mac Pro. Rather than do a migration I simply took the hard drives from the old machine and put them in the new one.
I then upgraded to Mountain Lion.
I use Internet Sharing to share my Mac Pro's Ethernet connection via wifi, but the other Macs can't see the Mac Pro's printer or shares when connected in this way. They can access the internet. If I connect a machine via the LAN rather than Internet Sharing, the shares and printer are visible.
This worked fine on Lion on the old machine. Any ideas?

Seems that the issue is something to do with connecting via WPA2. When I set Internet Sharing to use WEP (by option-clicking the security menu), I'm then able to see the network shares and the printer.

  • Accessing Server when only connected via Internet Sharing

Currently, I don't have the ability to directly connect my Mac Pro which I use as a Server to the router as I have no direct access to it via cable and it does not have an Airport card.
However, I can access the internet on it if I use internet sharing on my iMac which is connected via Gigabit Ethernet to the Mac Pro at all times.
In order to use any of the services such as Time Machine from another machine, I always need to connect it directly by cable. This leaves me wondering if there is a way to tunnel the Mac Pro through the iMac so it is accessible via Wifi? Is there a setting on either Machine I have to activate / set to make this work?
It is only thought to be a temporary solution until I move to a new flat where it will be directly connected to an Airport Extreme.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Who is connected via internet sharing?

How do you view who is connected to your wifi via internet sharing? I had to get rid of the password in order to get internet sharing to work with my other devices.

One way is to use Network Utility (Applications/Utilities). Click on the Netstat tab then select "Display routing table information." Next click the oval "Netstat" button to run it and down the left column of information you should see the names and MAC addresses of any connected computers.

  • VCN only while connected via internet address?

I have scoured all the posts here, and searched every phrase I could think of, and read the manual to find the information I am seeking, but I cannot seem to find an answer. I have found similar posts/complaints but no solutions.
I have ARD 3 on my MacBook Pro, and I use it from my office to assist my wife, who works at home, and my mother, who lives in Canada.
My wife's PowerBook is correctly configured in the System Preferences > Sharing > Services pane. She is on a fixed 10.x.x.x IP address behind and Apple Airport Extreme, with ports 8283 and 5900 forwarded correctly to her machine.
My mother has a cable modem (COGECO cable, Canada), fixed IP address, an NO router.
In both cases, firewalls are disabled on their machines.
In ARD, I can see both machines by their DNS names in the list. Status says "offline", but if I open either of them, I see their screens and am able to rudimentarily control both machines. What I cannot do is any of the other Management tasks, like System Reports, client Upgrades, etc.
Is there something inherent in ARD 3 that forces machines connected over the Internt (vs. LAN) to only be controllable in VNC mode? Or am I missing something here?
One question: in the client computers, should the System Preferences > Sharing > Services > ARD > VNC viewers may control screen with password, be checked or unchecked, and does it matter if I am logging into the machines via an admin account I created on both?
Thanks in advance for any useful tips!

    Kevin,
it appears to me ... though I am a *total amateur* and only know what I've gleaned from these boards and the net in order to setup ARD for myself ... that for those using Airport networks (lots of us) it is necessary to manually open ports 3283, 5900 in the Sharing preferences under Firewall. If not, the traffic doesn't pass ... even on a LAN. So, you need to add a New configuration in the Firewall tab. (IOW it is NOT enough to simply select ARD in the "Services" tab).
This appears to me to be the problem with VNC over the net ... although I'm not sure that it's a problem really.
I have ARD 3 internet connections working on 3 locations. All of them behind Airport networks. When connected, "VNC On" appears under the "Current Status" tab in ARD 3.
I'm not sure if I'm connecting via VNC or not. I say this because, VNC has only been initiated remotely via "Change Client Settings" in the Manage Menu. It has NOT been set in the Sharing preferences on the client Mac. So ... is it ON or not??
Or ... am I getting a VNC connection because port 5900 is available and necessary due to it having been opened to accomodate the Airport network ? IOW ... is ARD 3 simply taking the route of least resistance ?
My own questions at this point are ...
    1/ Does it matter ?
2/ Is VNC, in my case, less secure than a 'direct' ARD connection?
3/ Is VNC faster or slower than a 'direct' ARD commection?
4/ Are there things that I CANNOT do with VNC that I can do with a 'direct' ARD connection?
5/ Would Ports 22 and 5988 help? (I've seen these mentioned in archived threads).
    Grant
(P.S. ... many thanks to those who contribute on this board. I know how frustrating it is trying to communicate this sort of thing to the uninitiated).

  • Connect via internet

I want to connect to one of my computers on the network from remote laptop via internet.
When I dial the IP address I connect to the router. What do I have to setup to go directly to one of my computers?

Assign the Static Ip to that computer. On the Router Forward a Port Number--3389--Select Protocol as "Both". type the IP add of that Computer.
    From Remote Location:
In the add bar--type the WAN IP of the Router followed by Port No:3389...
      For example---
Say your Router's IP add is 68.87.4.126....
      In the add bar type---68.87.47.126:3389.....

  • AOL Broadband, will connect to laptop, but not connect to internet explorer. WRT54GS v.6

I can connect to my wireless network via my laptop, but not to internet explorer. We have changed every setting imaginable and re-set the modem, router many times. We Ip configed, did ping tests, installed and re-installed the card in the laptop. Done all this 4 times with the tech support from Linksys. Finally, I realized it must the wireless router and/or modem configuration. (The laptop works on every other network in town except ours, and has not security settings enabled).
I have been on customer service calls for 2 weeks, with AOL and linksys and nothing seems to be helping me. I have 2 wireless routers (thought the first was bad, so bought another brand new), and just had a brand new modem installed. Basically, I have brand new equipment.
The laptop has no security settings and connect to any wireless network in town. It finds the connection to my WRT54GS v.6, but will not connect via internet explorer.
I want to uninstall and re-install the router. How do I uninstall the router? (I have instruction for re-installation). Also AOL rep told me, to make sure I configure the router to a certain port range. Any ideas as to how to do this?
Anyone have problems with AOL high speed and linksys router? Has the high speed cable cord coming out of the wall, not ethernet or DSL.
We have changed the settings in http://192.168.1.1 till I am blue in the face. None of the channels worked, security didn't work, adding the ip address manually to the laptop didn't work. I am getting no error messages. Am trying to get this wireless modem working because I need it. Should have come to this forum first!

hi..if you want to uninstall the router...the only thing you need to do is hold the reset button down for 30 seconds...
i m a bit confused here as to why the ISP techs asked you to forward ports on the router...port forwarding is needed for a specific application or a device that is behind the router....
the mentioned ports are for AOL messenger ( AIM )....and has nothing to do with the modem...anyways , let us work out together on this issue...carry out the steps i mention and you can revert back with the results and your success rate...
    1) connect the computer to the modem and check what ip address you have on the computer ??
    2) go to start -> control panel -> network connections ->
let me know what other icons you have besides Local Area Connection and Wireless Network Connection..
3)connect the computer to the router and the router to the modem...
access the router using http://192.168.1.1 .. let the internet connection type be on DHCP....check the ip address on the status page of the router ui...
    4) if it is 0.0.0.0 , go to setup tab and go to mac address clone subtab , enable it and hit clone..save the settings and do a power cycle...
    5) check whether you have the ip address...if you have the same ip as coming off of the modem..u should be online and if still 0.0.0.0 , then select PPPoE for the internet connection type and enter the username and password...check whether the ip address comes up....if still negative, ensure that the modem is in bridge mode...
6)if the ip address comes up as 192.168.1.x , change the local ip add of the router to 192.168.2.1 and do a power cycle..
let me know for any help !!!

  • Connecting Via Windows FTP Service

I recently moved several sites that used Contribute to a new

To create a FTP account I created a Windows Account and then

When connecting via contribute I get an error saying

Contribute seems to be trying to change directory to a folder

    Hi!
I think the windows service is using a different systemaccount that your other application, and that account does not have rights to read the sbo-common database.
You can change the account used by your service on the service definition or in the SERVICES application of Windows.

  • Remote administration of small office via Internet possible?

    Hi forum,
I am a sort of "administrator" (actually that one, who is always asked when there is a computer problem) within our small office group. But I am also very often on the road so I cannot help my workmates personally.
Our office Macs are connected to the inside and outside world via a Time Capsule. I consider buying an ARD license, but I am unsure if this would enable me to hop on my workmates' Mac screen when I am on the road and want to connect via internet.
Could you tell me if there is a way to accomplish this without buying new hardware or a subscription service?
    Cheers,
    Sven

If all you need is to be able to control another computer at your office from a remote location, then ARD would be overkill. Look into the freeware VNC. That will give you control capabilities and not cost you anything. You can find VNC applications for Mac here. Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5 already have a VNC component to allow you connect to the system so all you'd need is the portion on the computer from which you'd be taking the control. Most people seem to find Chicken of the VNC still works well for them, though it's not been updated in a while. JollyFastVNC, though still in development, is another option that's looking quite promising. You will need to open and forward the appropriate ports (TCP 5900) to the internal IP address of the system in your office. If you need to connect to more than one system, you'll need to run a third-party VNC application, such as VINE, on the office systems to you can designate the port; ARD only uses 5900 which only allows one computer to be controlled through an NAT device.
Another option, if your users are all using Mac OS X 10.5, might be to use iChat. It allows screen sharing and isn't subject to the difficulties with IP addresses, network ports, etc. that arise when using ARD or any similar direct system control.
    Hope this helps.

  • Whether 512MB RAM enough for NW2004s ABAP Sneak Preview?

    Hi Friends,
I am planning to install NW2004s ABAP Edition in my PC.
I have only 512MB RAM at the moment but the min requirement is 1GB RAM for NW2004s ABAP EDITION.My question is:Is it possible to install with 512MB?..Will it support? or Will it create any problem to my system?
    Plz Clarify..
    Cheers,
    Abdul Hakim

SAP R/3 4.7 runs on WAS 6.2. I understand you have even IDES on top of it. With the newer versions, more and more memory is required. NW2004s is WAS 7.0.
As said, it might happen but it will be very slow.

  • Time Capsule via Internet from Windows

    Frnds,
I couldnt find solve for my problem. Could anyone help me, pls?
I have TC. It work as router. TC connect via Ethernet cable. I want to connect to it from anyplace of the world via internet and use files on it. I switched on Share files in Airport Utility. I have stat IP. All should be work. But it is not working. When i check ports(137-139, 455) then i see that ports is closed. When i try to mapping ports then i have warning message that they is using and to turn it on i need to switch off Share files.
I try to connect via FTP. I opened 21 port and it is realy open. But i still could not to connect.
One more thing - i could to connect to TC via afp:// from Macbook. But i need to connect from other places using Windows.
I NEED PROFESSIONAL HELP. All eligible information and screens im ready to provide. HELPDESK CONNECTED UP!!!
    sry for my english

The TC does not offer FTP and ISP do not allow SMB connection via internet due to risk. Nor apparently does the TC allow wan connection using SMB.
So the simple answer is, you will have to figure out another way in.
    http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/3178/how-to-connect-to-an-afp-server-fr om-a-windows-pc
There are no AFP client support for windows available.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2627410?start=0&tstart=0
Buy a vpn router and place it infront of the TC which should be bridged.. vpn to the network and then you can access the TC.. but you should understand the TC was not made to be used as a NAS nor to serve PC's.

  • Slow internet connection via AirPort on MacBook under 10.5.7

The internet connection via AirPort on my MacBook is frustratingly slow, and I have no idea why.
I have an AirPort Extreme connected to a Virgin Media cable modem, a new iMac and a two year-old MacBook, both running 10.5.7. No problems at all with the wireless connection on the iMac - I get the full near-10Mbps download speed I'm paying for, despite the fact it's at the other end of the house. Not so on the MacBook, where I get barely 2Mb, even if I'm sat next to the router.
I've had other AirPort problems since the 10.5.6 update - notably one common to a lot of people on here, it seems, of the AirPort dropping the wireless connection every 2 mins. This was only 'fixed' by the fairly drastic workaround of essentially abandoning my user account and connecting via a different one.
For the slow internet problem, I've tried resetting the PRAM, turning off my cordless landline phone, changing the wireless channel - to no avail. I can't test the wired connection as my MacBook doesn't recognise my Ethernet port, it would seem, and hasn't for a long time.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

eight core macpro on the same wireless network (10 feet from extreme base station) as my macbook pro (2008 top of the line)
everything updated. the macpro is just fine with the internet, the macbook pro is horribly slow.
tried downgrading firmware on the airport...no difference.

  • Connect mac - win XP via internet

    Hello,
sorry if this has been answered, but I don't know how to find the information I want.
Is there any possibility how can I connect from my MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard to my parent's HDD in PC with Win XP via internet?
Can you please give me an advice or send a link or so...
    Thanks
P.S.: I'm just average user, so if there is some easy solution, I'd prefer the easiest one
    Message was edited by: jakudo

Not sure if this will satisfy your requirement - but LogMeIn.com will allow you to CONTROL your parent's PC without them being there (if it's configured as such). That would at least allow you to connect to their computer and ftp files to/from your computer (if you expose an ftp server to the internet), or to some other file sharing site that you could sync up with.
