Connecting Via Windows FTP Service

I recently moved several sites that used Contribute to a new
webserver (Windows 2003 running IIS 6). The server uses Windows FTP
Service.
To create a FTP account I created a Windows Account and then
a Virtual FTP directory with the same name as the windows user and
pointed that virtual directory at the root of the site I want to
update with contribute. I gave the Windows account full control on
the site root folder. I can FTP connect via Internet Explorer and
the command line.
When connecting via contribute I get an error saying
The directory you specified does not exist. Please make sure you
entered the directory name correctly. On some servers,
file/directory names are case sensitive"
Contribute seems to be trying to change directory to a folder
with the same name as the FTP virtual directory, rather than to the
folder that the virtual directory points at.
here's the error log from contribute

Hi!
I think the windows service is using a different systemaccount that your other application, and that account does not have rights to read the sbo-common database.
You can change the account used by your service on the service definition or in the SERVICES application of Windows.

I recently bought an Ipod touch 2nd gen, (Ebay). It's in great shape and seemed to be wiped clean.
When I connect (via windows computer) to Itunes with usb cord the Ipod icon shows, but the only function you can do is eject. When its in the upper right hand corner and you click on it all you get is a done button, when it's in the side bar right click and your only option is eject, left click has no effect. If I go to "file">devices it's as if there are no devices connected.
I purchased a song with Itunes on the Ipod itself, and it transferred to my library on the computer automatically .
I have an Iphone 5 and a nano that are still functioning with Itunes thru computer so I'm thinking the issue is with the Ipod touch. I've reset it several times, rebooted it, with no change.
nothing on the internet has helped, I called tech support and got disconnected. Should I take it to a retail store? I just don't know where to go next, I'm of course willing to pay for tech or repair. looking for suggestions.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Connect via Windows Powershell in SCCM 2012 CONSOLE (with PowerShell 4.0 installed)

    Hi,
When trying to "Connect via Windows Powershell" in the SCCM 2012 console, I get the message that Powershell 3.0 is not installed... (which actually isn't installed, we have PS4.0 installed). Do we need to install PS3.0 also to get it working
or is there a workaround? Connecting manually to the site via Powershell 4.0 (Get-Psdrive -psprovider CMSITE) works like a charm.
    Regards,
    WiM

    Hi,
I have installed WMF 4.0 on Windows Server 2008 R2 sp1, it works fine.
Please try to use "$PSVersionTable" to confirm Powershell version is 4.0. At first, I forgot to install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5, then the console gave me the message that Powershell 3.0 is not installed.

  • Windows Intune Subsription Problem - Configuration required to connect to Windows Intune Service

    Hi,
Has anyone come across this description message before : Configuration required to connect to Windows Intune Service?
I've added an Intune Service to my Site, but I've got the above message.
I'm not exactly sure what it means.
    Can someone help.
Maybe I've not done something that I need too.
    Thanks

Windows Intune Service is a component of SCCM. If you have not added Windows Intune Subscription, the component will not be installed. Check the Component Status in Monitor Node.

  • Connection via Windows Remote Desktop

I want to connect my BlackBerry with the BlackBerry Desktop Software which isn't installed on my local machine but on the computer to which I connect via the Windows Remote Desktop (both are Windows XP Professional). • Share outlook addressbooks via windows sharepoint services

    hello,
I'm shopping around for a server that can integrate to active directory (on win2k3), does email, does samba (for user home drives), and has shared contacts, etc for outlook 2003.
There is a server already running on the network with active directory. I came across a possible way to resolve the lack of a shared addressbook in the mac server.
If you have all winxp and officeXP workstations and a win2k3 server, the win2k3 server can run windows sharepoint services at no additional cost. The sharepoint services is basically a portal made to run on modern windows servers.
One of the things sharepoint can do is share contact/address books to outlook 2003. This looks like a very nice feature of the win2k3 servers.
My question is, has anyone done this? Does it really work or is this vaporware from microsoft?
If this works, I think I've got my shared addressbook problem solved.
    Thanks,
    Oskar

You can create OD entries for conatcts and share those to Mac & PC clients.
    Would that help?
Or maybe take a look at AddressOMatic

  • Customizing single user connection via Windows remote desktop

    Hi,
I would like to know if its possible to configure Windows Remote Desktop in a way that if a user is already logged on to a particular computer and another user tries logging in, an error message appears on the screen saying that a user is already
    logged on.
I can limit the number of connections to 1 via:
Local Group Policy Editor > Admin Templates > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Connections
However, with this option, the error message that comes up on the screen is the following:
'This computer cant connect to the remote computer, try again or contact the network administrator'.
Is it possible to configure this in a way to let users know why they cant login so they don't think its an IT fault?
We are using Windows 7 on both the clients and the host.
Any advice would be much appreciated..
    Thanks,
    Seema

    Hi Milos,
No its not a server operating system.
The PC that we are connecting to is running Windows 7.
We are connecting to it using Windows Remote Desktop.
    Thanks,
    Seema
    Hi Seema,
As Licensing agreement said, for Windows 7, you can only has one connection on this PC via RDP.
If another user wants to connect this PC via RDP, he will be notified you another user who has already logged in.

You should check settings in NetworkManager as well, since your settings broke after installing Gnome 3 that seems like a possible culprit.
    Generally off topic:
Just as a small note, there is such a thing as a FTP cable, though it is also sometimes written as F/UTP due to newer standards names. Basically it is a TP cable where the cables in it are wrapped in foil, hence the name Foiled Twisted Pair. This gives shielding from interference like magnetic fields unlike a UTP cable which is an Unshielded TP cable. There are also several other cable shielding standard names.

  • Connecting a windows xp service pack 2 pc to airport extreme

So frustrating. I have a laptop used only for QuickBooks but I need an internet connection. Just upgraded to Airport Extreme and even though every Mac in the house can connect easily, this Windows computer says, "The network may no longer be in range," which is crazy because the computer is sitting 10 feet from the Airport.
    Any help?

You can try to lower the security settings a bit on the AirPort Extreme to see if that will allow the PC to connect.
Open AirPort Utility - click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the icons
Change the setting for Wireless Security from WPA2 Personal to WPA/WPA2 Personal
    Update
    Try the PC again
If still no luck, you might have a blocking issue with the Windows Firewall, which can be accessed through the Control Panel. The anti-virus software can also block a new connection attempt.
If all else fails, you could change the wireless security to "Off" temporarily, or connect using an Ethernet cable as Susan suggests.

  • IPsec connection via Windows 7 (RV110W)

    Hallo zusammen

Unfortunately Windows 7 is not yet in its final release. Just like what happened to VISTA before it was intruduced got some compatibility and driver problems. There are only few adapters that can work with Windows 7 and usually it is a 802.11g adapters. Anyway don't loose that N adapter that you have once the Windows 7 is finally released I think Linksys will be able to introduce updated drivers for their devices.

  • Leopard Not connecting to Windows XP

Having a real problem connecting my macbook via ethernet through a router to my windows XP computer. Windows XP can see my mac, and I can browse my files, and sometimes my mac can see the Windows XP box in the finder, along with various other computers on the network: but it cannot connect to any of them. I click connect as, and it does nothing apart fro telling me it is connecting, and then 5 minutes later it says Connection Failed. File sharing is enabled on both computers, I have tried connect via SMB, ftp etc using my mac's IP address from the Windows Computer, and vice versa using my Mac IP address. They are both set up using DHCP. I cannot see why this is not working, as they were working fine only a week ago. All went wrong when i unplugged my macbook from the ethernet connection. Anyone got any ideas? Thank you in advance.

James, I feel you pain. I too have the same problem, however, my network(ethernet) has a total of 5 computers. One of which is a macbookpro. I can see all of the computers except one. When I try to connect, I get the "connecting to......" and nothing happens as well. Other computers are "visible" and available to connect to. I am new to the Mac and literally have had no problems setting up everything except for this one issue. I am researching other settings for the computer which will not connect, and looking for any differences. Maybe firewall setttings, maybe something in my Norton application. I will keep looking at this post to see if anyone has ideas and or suggestions. One other question for you as a fellow Mac and Xp user...Do you see your Mac on the Windows network places? I do not. Look forward to the forum helping out soon!

  • I can't connect to Windows Server via FTP

I've been using FTP for about 13 years and it works fine on Apache servers but can't connect to a windows Server via my Fetch FTP program. The site owner sent me a screenshot and copied/pasted the password so I know I have the info correct. It is still giving me errors.
Is there a special method to connect to Windows server via FTP?

    Hi Lorel,
    Try FileZilla...

  • Ftp activity monitoring on windows and ftp service

    hey guys,
i have several problems configuring the ftp service on my xserve - when creating a user, which will connect to ftp, everything seems to be ok, but when trying to connect - it does not make the LIST command. failed to get the list and that's it.
when trying to connect not in a just simple ftp mode, but in sftp (ssh) - it connects with no problem, fast, but seeing all of the directories in my server. well this is the main problemo i get. i want a user to see only his folder with it's contents. yes, i tried "user can see his home directory only". nothing helps. or i do smthng wrong with the creating of users and their dir's?
another thing. did you guys ever heard of a thing like to monitor ftp activities in the xserve on windows? see, we are a printing house. the clients are uploading their files onto the server via ftp, and a person must see all of the activities, so he can operate with the files later on using the workflow system. well another way or solution would be configuring automator do deliver the files into a certain hotfolder, so the workflow can automatically process them. to tell the truth, i never tried automator:) does it do smthng like this? like, it sees when the file is uploaded to the end and delivers it?
i got the xserve not so long ago. well i thing that was the smartest decision of this year. the thing is, all workstations in the house are pc's. don't ask why:) it's because of the software was bought long ago and was for win, so we have to buy everything new if we want to get mac's in the house. aaaand it costs a bit of fortune in the printing business.
so only the server is xserve, all workstations are pc's, so that is the question: how to monitor ftp activities on the xserve on a pc workstation?
guys, please help. this is a great importance to me.

when trying to connect - it does not make the LIST command. failed to get the list and that's it.
This is a classic passive vs. active FTP problem - the #1 problem with FTP and firewalls. You need to toggle the mode in the client.
another thing. did you guys ever heard of a thing like to monitor ftp activities in the xserve on windows
The only thing I can think of is going to be server-side. Either a Folder Action (or maybe Automator workflow) or a process that watches the FTP logs and takes appropriate action. Either way this is something you want to run on the server rather than on a client system.

I installed the current Bonjour printer services software on the Windows machine, and separately installed the driver software for the Epson printer on the WIndows machine.  Running the bonjour wizard, I get an alert saying 'I don't have sufficient access to my computer to connect to the selected printer'.
The printer has 'sharing' turned on from the Mac end; this works with a Powerbook via the wireless connection.  Sharing is also turned on in the Windows printer control panel for this printer (under properties).  The Mac is a G5 running 10.5.8.  When I try to print a page from the Windows machine it gets hung in the print queue.
Any advice how to proceed would be appreciated!
