Connecting AAO to HANA

Hi Folks,
Quick question - probably an easy one. I'm wanting to play around with AAO (usually I work in HANA) and am not clear on how to connect to HANA.
In one version of AAO in on system, after clicking "Insert Data Source", shows three folders: Connections, Favorites and HANA. This version of AAO just seems to be called "Analysis for Office". I can connect to a HANA system fine with this version.
However, in another system, I have a laptop with "Advanced Analysis for Office" pre-installed. When I similarly try to insert a new data source, all I see are SAP connections - no options to connect to HANA.
Any ideas? Also, what's the difference between "Analysis" and "Advanced Analysis" for Office?
Thanks,
Jody

  • How to connect an non-hana-ewm with an Hana-ECC and vice versa

    Hello,
for our migration project planning I am wondering how to connect EWM on SAP with ECC on Hana and vice versa.
As it is, both systems are (productive) on non - hana with actual SAP-Release and have to be migrated.
The background of my question: we may be not able do the "big bang" thing to migrate ERP ECC607 and EWM (with special Add-Ons) at one point to Hana (DMO) and therefore may need an interim solution. I checked ETL and LTS as "connectors" but they - from my point of view -  are one-way solutions from EWM to ECC/Hana -not bidirectional.I Found some questions concerning the same theme in the net but no solution at all till now..
How about BODS ? (Didnt work with it yet)
    Best regards,

Great. So I have to either install OS X, or buy a new mcahine. Can OS X run on a G3 without grinding to a halt?
By the way, I cannot get the iPod to even mount when connected via firewire. The USB/firewire PCMCIA card does not have drivers for OS 9. I thought that this support was built into OS 9. The USB port works (although the iPod will not mount when connected via USB either). Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • BI 4.0 user connection to SAP HANA

    Hi there,
Looking for some input here.  We are approaching the integration of BI 4.0 to SAP HANA using Active Directory
authentication. Does anyone know if each buisness user has to be created in HANA as well as BI (which the security guide seems to suggest) or can a single communication user be used ?  Thanks ! ! !    WEB intelligence will be used as the users
    front end.

You can use a generic system user (e.g. BOBJUSER) but all actual BOBJ users will "inherit" the roles/privileges of this BOBJUSER created in the HANA database. You can do this when you create the JDBC connection between BOBJ and HANA.
It is analogous to BW/HANA where there's one user connecting the BW application to HANA DB but application level security is handles in BW and not in HANA.
So you would need to structure your user-specific security in BOBJ. Obviously HANA Analytic privileges can't be used either with one HANA id.

  • No SQL (hdbsql / HANA Studio) Connection to SAP HANA Rev. 69 (all services GREEN, running)

    Hi all,
after starting HANA instance (locally installed on Linux Laptop) via sapcontrol [1], checking with sapcontrol's GetProcessList as well as HANA Studio Admin Console Diagnosis Mode Shows all Services GREEN, running.
However, when I try to open "Default Administration" in HANA Studio, it "Refreshing Overview" and is busy till infinity.
Trying to connect via \c command of HDBSQL eventually works, but any commands like \ds (list schemas) will run till infinity without returning anything.
SAP Business One for HANA SLD shows the Server but not the Company DBs / schemas.
    I attached sapstart.log and statisticsserver_alert_sid.trc.
    Any advice is highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Kind Regards

[1] I start HANA executing: /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/hdb/sapcontrol -prot NI_HTTP -nr 00 -function StartWait 270 2 OR /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/hdb/sapcontrol -nr 00 -function Start with user sidadm
[2] The issue occurs since the upgrade from Rev. 53 to HANA Rev. 69 (in the context of upgrading from Business One for HANA PL02 to PL09)

    Yes Aleksandr
    I think you are right.
After doing many installation of HANA Server in differrent AWS instances it didn't work for me.
But when I installed the HANA Studio on another machine with more RAM it worked.
I think we have to install HANA Studio on another AWS instance with 16 GB RAM to make it run smoothly.
    Thanks & Regards

    Beata

    Hi Beata,
The CRM scenario is working again. We had to re install the Connector and deploy a new proxy app.
Therefore you would need to download the code from the GitHub repository again. The changes you need to do on your side:
    1. Redeploy the new crm__public destination file - the updated destination now points to the new location of the proxy application
    2. Update the code of the registration form scripts (form.js and form.spec.xml).

You can connect as many systems as you want with the HANA (also 3 BWs).....The problem is, that you only have 1 system, which is able to put the data real-time into the HANA via SLT...the other systems will load their data via ETL into HANA...
I am not aware about any such restriction. It should be possible to have as many SLT systems replicated as you like. Can you explain why only one SLT is possible?

  • How to connect to SAP HANA Trial Instance using ODBC

    Hi,
I am a newbie to SAP HANA. I have a trial account and have created a new SAP HANA instance using it. I have also installed the HANA Client Tool(Dev edition). I wanted to create a ASP.NET application to consume HANA database on trial instance. Creating ODBC connection requries server:port that are not available in case of trial instance. Can this be done ?
Instead can I create a Java application that consumes HANA database on trial instance using JDBC ?
Need an answer ASAP. Thanking you in advance.

    Hi Vladimir,
I am trying to connect to an HCP system from outside java code using JDBC.
I could not find out how what will be the jdbc url and how to get that port no.
Say for example the cloud system is https://account.hanatrial.ondemand.com/ and instance no is xyz. then waht would be the jdbc url?
"jdbc:sap://xyz.hanatrial.ondemand.com:30015/"   - this is not working.

  • How can I create geographic charts with Lumira connected to SAP HANA?

    Hello All
I'm testing SAP Lumira and I want to make geographic charts with data from SAP HANA. This is possible when I use data from a local Excel-file. But not when I use data from SAP HANA. I was told it should work after installing Service Pack 8. But it still doesn't work. Maybe we have to turn something on, change a configuration file. Maybe it has to do with SAP Lumira, not with SAP HANA. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Here are some technical details:
    SAP HANA Version: 1.00.81.00.392776 (NewDB100_REL).
SAP Lumira Version: 1.19.0 (build 1099) (latest version).
    SAP HANA Studio Version: 1.00.81.0.
Windows Version: Windows 7 Enterprise, Service Pack 1.
    Kind regards, Robbert

    Hello Antoine
At paragraph 3.2.2 on page 73 it says:
Creating geography hierarchies with latitude and longitude data is not currently supported for SAP HANA data sources.
I think this explains everything. Well, almost everything. I created geographic charts with Lumira while connected with Excel or a csv-file. The question now is, am I waiting for an update of SAP Lumira or an update of SAP HANA? Or both?
    Kind regards, Robbert

  • Unable to connect to SAP Hana cloud platforfm trial server

    Hi Experts,
I am going through open sap course on SAP Hana cloud platform. I need to deploy the first sample "Hello World" Application in SAP hana trial server. As per the instructions mentioned in course , I have tried to connect trial server through eclipse and facing a error which says "
Unknown SAP HANA Cloud Platform host was provided. Check whether the host is correctly spelled."
Referred blog SAP HCP openSAP course guide week 1 and tried to change the network connections using Windows-> Preference-General-Network. Used Direct/Native/Manual options and I still have the same issue.
    Screenshot for reference:
    System details: Eclipse Kepler 4.3
    Jre 1.6
    Windows 7 32 bit
Hope the detail is sufficient to analyze the issue. Please share your thoughts.
    Thanks!

Tried to make use of SAP HaNA administration console perspective in eclipse. Creation of cloud system results in new set of log errors. Not sure if this can give any clue about the rootcause of issue

  • Connecting Hana view to SAP Lumira

    Hi ,
I created a view in Hana system and used the Connect to SAP HANA One source option in SAP Lumira for the Dataset.
On the next screen i am able to see all views under different packages from HANA, but i am not able to see the new view created by me.
    My questions -
    1) Do i need to have certain privileges in order to see the newly created view in the view list at lumira level?
    2) Any Steps which i am missing in addition to creating an anayltic view, adding a data foundation to the view ?
    Regards
    Chaitanya Sharma

    Hi Chaitanya,
Check if the Schema and the package containing the AN view you have created is assigned to your USERNAME under Object & Package privilege respectively.
And while connecting to HANA System in Lumira login with the USER which has these assigned objects. Check if this helps

  • HANA views call in ABAP ECC 6.0 via secondary connection

    Dear Folks,
We have created views in HANA, same views we need to call it in  ABAP ECC 6.0(Netweaver 7.3)  i.e. via secondary database connection.
    So,
1.Is it possible to call HANA vies in ABAP ECC 6.0?
2.Is there any version limitations? or will work fine on ECC 6.0
    3. If yes can you give me sample code of abap to access hana as secondary database
Note : I have gone through Mr. Thomas Jung thread.
    Regards,
    Amol

    Hi Amol,
so, ADBC is available in your system, but you have to make sure that the correct DBSL library for HANA (HDB) is available in your system. You can then just check if you can correctly communicate with the report ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION (using the secondary connection maintained in table DBCON) to your HANA database.
You may have a look at the example on how to select from an external view in report ADBC_QUERY (which selects from a DB table), by using a secondary DB connection to your HANA DB and using the HANA view instead of a DDIC table.
Of course in ADBC you have to take care about the correct type mapping (as you cannot use a DDIC type for definition of your internal table into which you select).
    Best,
    Jasmin
BTW: One word of precaution, the tasks you try to accomplish is rather cumbersome. We definitively recommend to use a more recent release (e.g. NetWeaver 7.4 SP5 or beyond), however, I think that's not your decision, right?

  • HANA Studio connection with HANA server in HANA One (Rev 56 and up)

    Dear HANA One Customers,
You must be aware of our latest HANA One release with HANA SP6 (blog: The specified item was not found. Once you launch a new instance using HANA One Rev 52.1, you can upgrade your instance to HANA Rev 56 or HANA Rev 62. You can do it in steps (Rev 52 -> Rev 56 -> Rev 62) or do directly (Rev 52 -> Rev 62). By the way, Rev 62 is the first HANA 1.0 SP6 release in HANA One. As we recommended, if you upgrade HANA Version to 56 or 62, please upgrade your HANA Studio and HANA Client to the corresponding version.
If you upgrade to either Rev 56 or Rev 62, you don't need to add any entry to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts to connect HANA Studio to use all the functionality of HANA Studio with HANA in cloud. While HANA One's add-on manager, upgrades. it makes a change in one configuration file (global.ini) for public_hostname_resolution.
However, if you change IP of your HANA One instance, you need to update this parameter which is described in the Quick Start Guide. The steps are summarized as:
In the Administration editor of HANA Studio,
Choose the Configuration tab. A list of all configuration files appears.
    Expand the global.ini configuration file
    Select the section public_hostname_resolution
Choose Next and enter the values map_hanaserver in the Key field and your IP or public DNS in the Value field.
For example, set the values as Key: map_hanaserver, Value: xx.xx.xx.xx if you use an IP address including an Elastic IP. If you use DNS as the value it could be ec2-xx-xx-xx-xx.compute-1.amazonaws.com
With this new feature, the same HANA Studio can connect to many HANA One instances at the same time which was not possible earlier prior to Rev 56.
    Thanks,
    Swapan

    Yes Aleksandr
    I think you are right.
After doing many installation of HANA Server in differrent AWS instances it didn't work for me.
But when I installed the HANA Studio on another machine with more RAM it worked.
I think we have to install HANA Studio on another AWS instance with 16 GB RAM to make it run smoothly.
    Thanks & Regards
    Manu

  • How to connect Eclipse with AWS HANA

I have created an SAP HANA instance on AWS and connected successfully with HANA Studio.
Now I have installed Eclipse-Kepler and when navigating File->New->ABAP Project
I get the option to connect by 'Selecting from SAP Logon Pad' or 'Define Manually'
I would like to add the HANA system to the Logon Pad dont know how to.
    What is entered as:
    - Application server: either IP address or synonym in hosts-file right?
    - Instance number?
    - System Id?
    - SAP router string?
Ive got the following SAP GUI installed: 7300.2.4.1085
    Build 1419460
    Patch 4
    Fix 2

    Hi Martin,
You mean to say how to add IP details in Logon pad.
I would like to add the HANA system to the Logon Pad dont know how to.
    Its quite simple.
1.Open your SAP GUI logon pad installed.
    2.Click on New Button.
3.Select user Specified and click Next button.
4.Give your Server details in Application server.
5.Instance number ..(2 digit Numeric no)
    6.System Id ..(3 digit no)
Check with your Basis person he will clarify the details.Click on finish.
You can call the same ..Even you can define the system manually is also possible.
I wont suggest you to delete the GUI.Because ABAP in Eclipse wont support the entire features of GUI.Lets wait for some more time SAP will integrate all in Ecliose.  ..for time being hold on...
