Connecting arduino to LED matrix/array

Hi,
I really need help as I am not that great with labview and I am trying to connect a LED matrix of 3x3 to labview using an arduino. I have tried using some starter code and then adding the arduino part in but it is just not working for me. Could someone possibly guide me and help me fix out how to connect my code?

  • How To Fix NUMBER in Matrix array (LABVIEW 2011)

I think what's he's saying is that he wants the values to be stored as the control's defaults.
ToNTi, for each control or indicator where you want to save values (so that next time you open the VI in LabVIEW, those values will be stored in the control), right-click it, choose Data Operations»Make Current Value Default. If you want to do this for all controls and indicators at the same time, go to the Edit menu and choose Make Current Values Default. You will need to do this before you close the VI, whenever you have new values that you want to save.
There is an invoke node that can do the same thing, but it can't be used on a VI that's runnning, so it probably won't help you.

  • 8x8 led matrix

    hi,
i am currently working on a 8x8 led matrix hardware to light up different shapes and numbers. For a start, i tried lighting up the number '9' to get the concept first.
I am using the current module and transistor module to control the hardware. I have implemented using a row by row scanning method. And the channel selection and current input are configured in the properties of the fieldpoint in the block diagram.
But the outcome is not desirable. The scanning speed is too slow and flickering could be seen.
may i know how i can solve this problem.
And i would like to know if my programming method is correct.
As this is my first time working on labview, i have very little knowledge about it.
I have attached my programme below.
Pls help me in solving this problem as it is urgent.

    Hi vivek,
I don't work with FieldPoint module, so cannot help on this special topic.
But I have some more general hints:
-Using the error cluster in/out you can define execution order of your FP express vis without using this huge sequence structure. This will greatly enhance readability of your code.
-What's the timing for? When the display should last for a given time, the delay should be put in it's own frame after setting the display! Btw. you should use the correct datatype for indicators to avoid unnessessary type conversions (shown by red dot).
-the express vi's are nice for easy development, but they hide all the settings from the programmer. IMHO it's better to use "direct access" vi's (VISA or special FP vi's - I don't have the toolkit installed). This way you can optimize for speed (you don't know what the express vi is doing aside from FP communication) more easily.

  • Connecting arduino to eclipse (Mac)

    Hello Everybody,
I was just trying to connect Arduino to Eclipse(Java) on the Mac side and thought of creating this post if anybody has done this before. Your help would be appreciated.
Main reason of doing this is because I want to have dual displays,Interface in one display and its results in another. I am not doing this in processing with controlIP5 library because of its shortcomings in further complexity. Therefore I transfered my sketches over to eclipse as java has monitor handling libraries.
    Thanks,
    Dhruv

  • In the attached vi, I have a 2-dim series of EMGs which I would like to connect with a 1-dim array. How can I do this?

In the attached vi, de Y values are given for each time as a matrix. The problem is that the y values coming out have to be a 1-dim array, in order to connect this vi with another vi. How can I do this?

    Hi,
can you post your curve fitting .vi?
I think you can do this with the reshape array.vi, and take the 2-D array, find out it's size, and multiply the two dimensions together to get the number of elements you need. That'll give you the array as 1-D, but whether it's in the correct order as you need it is another matter.
It all depends on what the 2-D array is representing, and how much of it needs to go to the "other" .vi
    Hope that helps

  • Macbook pro screen blinks after connecting it to LED Cinema Display

Hello, just bought a 27 LED Cinema Display to connect my macbook pro 17 (early 2009).
Everything fine until today. After disconnecting my laptop to the display the screen of laptop blinks.
    Never had this problem.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks
    Ignacio

...but I need to be sure that my macbook will not stop working if I leave the problem with the screen blinks.
Of course you do — we all need to be sure our machines will keep working properly. Unfortunately, there's never any certainty about that, even if one's machine is working perfectly right now. But if it's any consolation, I've seen nothing posted in these forums to indicate that the blinks commonly foreshadow anything worse, so I think you can be reasonably confident that your machine isn't at the start of a predictable course of deterioration.

  • No audio when connecting iMac to LED TV

I connected my iMac (using a mini display to DVI adapter) to my LED TV (using an HDMI to DVI Digital Video Cable), the picture appears but the only sound there is is that coming out of the iMac. Under system preferences their is only the internal speakers displayed in the output section. Please help!

When you connected the mini-display port to mini-dvi adapter, you lost any audio possible. dvi standard doesn't support audio. If your iMac is a early 2009 or earlier, it doesn't support audio over the mini-displayport. The late 2009 and mid 2010 iMacs support audio over the mini-displayport per this article:

  • Macbook goes to sleep randomely when connected to Apple LED Display

I have  an issue with my Macbook Pro (2009 model) when it's connected to my 27' Apple LED Display. For no apparent reason that I can tell, it just goes to sleep at random, and after I wake it up by pressing a key (bluetooth keyboard), the mouse cursor looks messed up:
It might be a bit hard to tell from the blurry photo (I don't know of a way to take a screenshot with the cursor, so I used my iPhone), but it's too halves of the spinning beachball.
There's nothing in the console's log that indicates the reason for switching to sleep mode. It's also not the magnets of the Macbook pro used to detected when the lid is closed (I'm using the NoSleep utility that prevents that behavior). I've already tried resetting the PRAM. Also, this behavior never happens when the macbook isn't connected to the external display, so that probably aint a heating problem either (also the temperature readings are all in bounds).
Any help would be very appreciated, as that thing is driving me crazy.

    Jon,
Along the lines of my comment in your other thread. The battery connection cable between the logic board and the battery is also known as the "sleep/switch" connector. This little cable not only communicates battery power to & from the machine but also has a handle on regulating the machine's sleep process (and wake from sleep).
I've seen several MacBooks that have come across my work bench which are suffering from this exact issue you're describing and we're remedied by replacing that cable.
The component I'm referring to is this one-

The only way you can turn it off is to close the lid - so you would need an external wired or wireless keyboard and mouse/trackpad attached.

  • X200s + Ultrabase (DisplayPort) to connect to Apples' LED Cinema Display (mini DisplayPort)?

I'm considering purchasing Apple's LED Cinema Display which has only one connection, mini DisplayPort. I have an X200s and the Ultrabase with the DisplayPort.
Has anyone got this combination working?
Getting a mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort connection isn't easy from what I can tell but I've spoken to Circuit Assembly and they have a product that will provide the necessary connection (http://estore.circuitassembly.com/products/Mini-Displayport-Female-to-Displayport-Male-Adapter-Cable...) but can't be sure it will work as they don't have Apple's display on hand.
Any information on whether anyone has had this or a similar setup working would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Can you connect older 27" LED Display to current iMacs?

Hi - finding conflicting information via Apple support pages and google and wanted to throw this out to the community for verification.
My endstate is to run dual 27" LEDs...one being on a current iMac and the other being a first-generation Apple 27" LED.
Can you connect a first-generation Apple 27" LED display utilizing the min-display port to the current 27" iMac (non 5K) utilizing the Thunderbolt port?  If so - is it a simple Thunderbolt-to-Thunderbolt cable or is there an adapter on the mini-display side required?  Thanks!
