Connecting canberra osprey mca to LabVIEW

Hello all,
Could anyone show me the way to connect an USB device to LabVIEW interface? The device is Osprey, an MCA manufactured by Canberra company.
I have a driver of this MCA but I dont know how to connect it with LabVIEW. http://www.canberra.com/products/radiochemistry_lab/digital-signal-processing.asp
Moreover, what's version of LabVIEW do I need to solve this problem? (I just have LabVIEW 8.5)
Thank you all.

You need the Canberra SDK for Osprey. A quick review of the documentation reveals that the SDK includes COM, .NET and DLL interfaces.
With your LabVIEW version you should be able to use at least one of them.
Ask Canberra for details.

  • Controlling XY stage connected to parallel port using labview

    Hi,
I have a XY stage which I can control using mach3 software. I want to control a signal generator, VNA and the XY stage at the same time. I have programmed SG and VNA using Labview but I am having difficulties controlling XY stage using Labview. I have never controlled an instrument connected through parallel port using labview.
Can anybody give me some ideas to start with? How do I use VISA to control the parallel port? I really appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

    Hi srms,
Since your question is related to using VISA, I would try posting your question on the Instrument Control Board. You're likely to have better luck there.

  • How can i connect simple dc motor to labview

any one who help me how can i connect simple dc motor to labview and speed control of that

    Hi,
There is a selection guide for motors on our website which can be found here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/12594
There is also software specifically for LabVIEW to control motors.  You can find it here: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/13851

  • Connecting Agilent DSO3062A Oscilloscope with LabVIEW using USB

I am trying to connect Agilent DSO3062A Oscilloscope with LabVIEW using USB but the device is not recognized by MAX. I have installed the drivers for scope and it works fine with the scope software. The problem is LabVIEW dosen't recognize the scope. Please tell me the procedure of setting up the scope with LabVIEW 8.2. I am using Windows XP.

    Hi there,
I think the issue is that the DSO3062A will not be recognized by LabView as a GPIB instrument through the USB connection. If you check out the 3000 series manual (http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/D3000-97016.pdf) you'll notice on page 8 it says you can't use the USB for programming, it can only be used with their scope software. You need the N2861 module installed on the back to connect via GPIB, and then a GPIB interface to your computer. I hope that helps.

  • Trouble connecting MCC USB 1208FS to Labview 10.0

I have trouble in connecting MCC USB 1208FS with Labview. I can see that the MCC card is detected through the InstalCal software of MCC. I am not able to see it on Labview interface. How to confirm that MCC device is connected with Labview. I have installed the latest MCC software and have Universal Library(UL) installed. I could see the UL functions listed in the Labview "functions>user libraries>MCC data acquisition".

  • MyDAQ, connect sensors with multiplexer in labview

I am quite new to labview so hope someone can help. What  I am doing is to use NImyDAQ to connect 8 different sensors and show the output on labview. Since the myDAQ does not have enough input for 8 sensors, so I am using two 8 bits multiplexers to solve it.
Here is the question. How do the circuit draw in the labview which will make it works? I want to make an drop down button to select which sensor is connected and shown, therefore I need to output boolean value (0,1) to the digital input/output? I have try using case structure but seems difficult for me. Is there any example similar to what I am doing?

What you mean by skiping the DAQ Assistant? Can you make a drag and drop diagram for an example? I have no idea how the drop down menu giving out numerical value then goes into the Digital input in NImyDAQ.

  • Connecting PCs via GPIB in Labview

Is there a way to connect two PCs via GPIB, both running a Labview program? I just want to excange text files between them. The GPIB cards are PCMCIA-GPIB cards from NI.

You can, but you might not enjoy it.
I don't have the specifics for your GPIB cards, so I don't know how to do it for them, but in a previous job we put one of the GPIB cards in a non-System Controller mode. Then we could make it look like an instrument. Sorry I can't provide more details as it has proprietary code in it. But hopefully it gives you a place to start.

duplicate post....again, try looking on the PCB for an IC switch(i.e., transistor, mosfet, voltage comparator, driver....)then take a voltage differential. You can do your part by naming the IC's(U#) or transistors(Q#) on the board. btw, show us your VI and what you have done so far?

  • No connection to MKS 146 from labview

    Hi,
The MKS is not responding to the command sent from a labview program.  After hit connect,  a error shown saying "1073807202 occurred at;146INIT.VI;MKSOPEN.VI;MKSINIT.VI, Possible reasons: VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF009E) A code library required by VISA could not be located or loaded. " Anyone know what is the problem and how to solve it ?
    Thank you,

    Hi blue_sky,
As indicated in this KnowledgeBase article, one possibility is that VISA is not installed. Please ensure that you have downloaded and installed the most recent version. This can be found at our website, here.

  • Error Connecting to VGA2USB FrameGrabber in LabView

I'm trying to connect a VGA2USB frame grabber device.  It uses DirectShow, and is recognized in MAX by the IMAQdx driver.  However I get an 0xBFF69011 error when trying to connect to it.  I ran the camera validation utility and it appears that I am getting the  0xBFF69011 for Attribute: CameraAttributes::VideoDecoder::AnalogFormat, along with (Hex 0xBFF69012) Attribute value is out of range.  I tried deleting the camera file in C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Data and I get the same result.  There are no files in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Data\XML directory.  I also tried using different versions of drivers and it makes no difference.  I'm attaching the camera files and validation files.

    Hey Monzarati,
I believe you are getting an attribute write error at CameraAttributes::VideoDecoder::AnalogFormat. Try changing that attribute in MAX to see if it fixes the problem. There could be an issue with the driver that doesnt allow you to set the correct setting.

  • Connect plc using modbus with labview

    hi
i m using Modbus to communicate plc with labview . but it is not working.......?
can any one give me the example program so that i can understand how to communicate ?

    Hi Nadeemalikpda,
Are you using the Modbus Library (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/4756) or the DSC Module for the Modbus communication?  There are examples included for each.
For the Modbus Library, the examples are in the .llb (MB Serial Example Master.vi, MB Ethernet Example Master.vi).
For the DSC Module, take a look at the help file here, which also has the locations of the example programs: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371618F-01/lvmve/dsc_modbus_using/.

  • Connecting a Presonus Audiobox to Labview

Is there anyway to hook up an audiobox through usb to collect frequency signals off of a guitar?  We need to collect and do the spectrum analyisis in real time.  We are hoping that all we need to do is get Labview to recognize the drivers from the audiobox.
    Thank you.

The web site for this device indicates it supports ASIO, Core Audio, Direct Sound (Windows XP), Windows Audio Session API (Windows Vista and Windows 7).

  • How to connect external sensors to labview?

i want to ask How can i connect external sensors to NI labview for my final year project.? here are my lists of sensors:
    a. Temperature sensor (LM35)
    b. Humidity sensor (HH10D)
    c. Light sensor (LDR)
    d. Moisture sensor

I've used the NI's bread board (with DAQ assistant initially) when I was in school. We used it for temp, light, and etc... measurements, the whole system is very straight forward. I would say having the option to simulate signals is a big plus in that. From what you described, I don't think the "slower" rate of data acquisition will disturb you at all. But more information is needed on your sensors and  general functional spec.
    @ NIquist & RTSLVU, please correct me if I'm misleading/wrong :-)
Is that the ELVIS stuff?  Very neat but kind of pricey (unless the school is paying! )
Again, the low-cost USB DAQs from NI or MC are the way to go for the OPs project.  I am assuming that he has enough electronics background to make simple signal conditioning circuits for his sensor chips.
