  • Is axis ptz 215 ip camera compatible with labview?

Hi I am working with labview for my final year project and am trying to find a ip camera which will work in labview.
I wish to use the axis 215 ptz but want to make 100% sure that I will be able to capture video input from it before I purchase it.
    so
1, will i be able to capture video into labview with a axis 215ptz?
2, Will I be able to control the pan tilt and zoom controls of a axis 215 ptz labview?
and if so any help as to how would be great also thanks for your time.

I and a NI engineer tried various ways to get it to work in labview he was quite helpful.
After installing the camera and checking on internet explorer that it worked and was a valid IP for the computer we tried the following in labview.
Measurements and automation explorer under device interface and remote systems couldn’t find the Samsungs IP or name
Another way I tried was vision and motion vision express once again the camera couldn’t be found even though through the same method the Ni engineer could find his supported camera a different one to the Samsung.
Yet another way was through vision assistant in which we tried the acquire image from ip camera driver and once again the Samsung was not found.
On conclusion the Ni engineer concluded the Samsung wasn’t supported and thus after research we tracked down that apparently axis and basler cameras are supported. Of these specifically I wish to use the axis 215 ptz I emailed the same question above and an NI engineer replied
    Hi Nicholas,
You can use the Axis 215 pzt camera to control and use with LabVIEW there is no problems at all. Make sure you don't change the firmware that comes with the camera, As this can cause it not to work.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

  • Canon digital camera integration with Labview

    hi,
i need to integrate canon digital camera with labview.
i have applied for the SDK from canon , and waiting for the
reply from them. i have got a liitle control of the camera from the
dll from PS remote from http://www.breezesys.com/PSRemote/
but not able to grab the images to labview ,
if any one has worked on similar applications kindly help
    thanks and regards,
    sundar.

    hi there,
there's a function SetOutputPath(path) where you can specify the path where the driver of the camera saves the pictures. for more information see the SDK docs. after the pictures have been saved to disk you can read the files with the LV-VIs from the "Graphics & Sound" palette. there are some examples shipped with LV of how to read image files.

  • OPC Server Connection not possible (with LabView 7.0 it is working)

We have used LabView 7.0 to view OPC items on a remote server (Windows CE).
On WindowsCE it's not possible to browse the remote registry, therefore we
make the registry settings on the client Computer and are setting the
"RemoteServerName". For LabView 7.0 it was working.
With LabView 7.1 when we try the same with the sample "Browse to OPC Item.vi"
we get the Message Box "NI Network Browser Error!" "This OPC Server does not support
the interface: IOPCBrowseServerAddressSpace error code - 0x80070005 Access denied!"
Has any one an idea what has changed since LabView 7.0.
The OPC Server has also an OPCEnum running. Is there any way to read this information?

    Regards, Robert

    Hi Robert
LabVIEW 7.1 implements some new security features dealing with DCOM that were not in 7.0. Windows is moving in this direction, and National Instruments decided to follow suit. 7.1 requires a certain level of authentication from the server. If this is the issue in your case, it can be resolved with the following steps (this is for Windows XP; CE will probably be different):
    1. On the computer hosting your OPC server select "Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Component Services.
    2. On the tree on the left, expand "Component Services >> Computers >> My Computer >> DCOM Config.
    3. Your OPC server should be registered as one of these items. Right-click on your server and select "Properties."
    4. On the "General" tab, change the "Authentication Level" to "Connect."
If this property is already set to Connect or Default (and the default setting is Connect) then this will have no effect.
You can also try checking some of the other settings:
    1. On the computer hosting your OPC server select "Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Component Services.
    2. On the tree on the left, expand "Component Services >> Computers >> My Computer
    3. Right-click on My Computer and select "Properties."
    4. On the "Default Properties" tab, make sure "Default Impersonation Level" is set to "Identify."
You may also want to look at the "COM Security" tab to make sure your computer has the right permissions.
If all else fails, you can try adding the line "ole.AuthnLevel = 1" to the LabVIEW.ini file. This should reverse some of the changes to 7.1.

  • Connecting JADE &MATLAB with LabVIEW

I wish to Connect JADE and MATLAB with LabVIEW,. Please provide the relevant documents.

For matlab, there is the matlab script node.
For JADE, you need to be more specific, because there are several programming tools with that name (e.g. here or here).
You need also define what you mean by "connect". In the most general case you would simply build a dll in the other language and then call it using the call library function node.
What are you actually trying to do?

  • Ipod camera connector with CANON 350D

    Hi everybody!
I'm trying to connect camera connector with my photocamera but ipod continuosly tell me: "format non supported". I have set my 350D in PTP mode, as apple recommended in the compatibility list, but nothing changes.
    What can I do?
    tnx!
    Manu

You should consider to buy a canon 20 D. it's a lot better then the 350D i you would not have those kind of problems!
    just kidding!
wasn't suppose to work with the cf card you plug directly in your ipod? i would be much faster?

  • Lifelines trackit EEG recording with LabVIEW

Hi, I am trying to control a lifelines trackit EEG (www.llines.com) recorder using LabVIEW via serial communication (DB9). Does anyone has any experiences connecting this device with labview? I've done several communication via serial communication with labview before but not as tough and difficult as the current task. I am not able to understand the device (trackit) command in order for me to apply the Basic Serial Read and Write VI. Please advice. I have the Lifelines trackit recorder Interface specification in softcopy as reference but do not know how to attach here. Please let me know if you guys need the  copy as reference. TQVM

Is there a demo program from the manufacturer that works?? you can use portmon or NI spy to capture the serial datastream and reverse engineer the labview code. Sometimes ya have to think like a hacker.

  • B&R Powerlink Ethernet module support with LabVIEW

    Hello Guys,
I wanted to use the B&R Powerlink Ethernet module for one of my industrial applications where in I am planning to use cRIO system for the control but my drives ACOPOS 1022 servo Drive requires this module B&R Powerlink Ethernet module. The link is
    http://www.br-automation.com/cps/rde/xchg/br-productcatalogue/hs.xsl/cookies_allowed.htm?caller=prod...
So i wanted to check the compatibility of LabVIEW with this particular module and if there is any option for me to program or atleast communicate with this module directly via LabVIEW? This will help me finalize my system and go ahead and start building.
Looking forward for some responses from everyone who has worked with similar setup.
Thank you so much in advance.
    Regards,
    Priyank Desai.

    Hi,
unfortunatelly servodrives from B&R have no open programming interface, so you can not programm them from LabView. For operating B&R servodrive, B&R CPU is a must. This is because operating system of servodrive and all necessary parameters are stored at B&R CPU to guarantee trouble free run always. B&R serfvodrive ACOPOS is not for "component business".
You can listen and command them, when there is a B&R master CPU and servodrive is configured for that.
Following B&R product are Powerling standalone with no need for CPU:
    ACOPOSinverter P74/P84
    X20 IO system
    X67 IO system
B&R CPU is required for ACOPOSmicro, ACOPOS, ACOPOSmulti ACOPOSm65 servodrive systems.
I suggest to contact local supoort of B&R at your country and they will help you how to connect this drive with LabView.

I have a roboteq hdc 2450 and want connect to labview but have no idea how to do so. I have the drivers that came with it will it work to interface with labview?

You can create your control code in LabVIEW and then use a Call Library Function Node to communicate with your roboteq DLL.  The first thing to do though, is check to see if Roboteq offers LabVIEW drivers.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Jam.Hall
I am somewhat hesitant to say you will be able to use this camera with LabVIEW.  It all depends on what functionality you are wanting to utilise on the camera, and how much video you want to analyze.
     - If you want to use the wireless functionality, I am concered that the on board web server will compress and embed the video stream.  I do not beleive this is something we can access in LabVIEW.
     - If you wish to use the ethernet connection, if it is Gigabit Ethernet, then you should be able to use our IMAQ for GigE driver to bring in the feed, but looking at the specs for the camera, I'm not sure that this is an option.
     - My other suggestion might be to utilise the record video stream function that the camera has.  Depending on the format of the video file, you may be able to read in the recorded file and analyse it in LabVIEW.
If you could explain the purpose of your application, and what you would like to achieve with the system, there may be more suitable products that you can use.
    Kind regards,

  • Controlling Hamamatsu Camera with LabVIEW

I am using a Hamamatsu 1394 ORCA-ERA Camera in order to save microscope images on a PC. Im my lab, we are attempting to automate the process of saving an image from this microscope, and coordinate the time of the image capture with a function performed with LabVIEW.
As the 1394 name implies, this camera is connected to our PC using a firewire port. Is it possible to control the function of this camera with LabVIEW through a firewire port? What additional LabVIEW libraries would I need in order to perform this task, if any? Finally, is it possible to use LabVIEW to control a program called micro-manager that we currently use to save images? I know the Hamamatsu API supports both programs, but I am not sure if cross-communication between them is supported.
Thank you for reading, any response is greatly appreciated.

You say the API supports LabVIEW.  Does it have any example code for you to start with?  Typically driver sets include examples to make it easier to work with their API.
If it works with that API, I'd see if you can get that to work with taking the images without using the second program.  You can typically use something like system exec on a Windows machine to run programs.  I'm not sure of anything that works similarly for a Mac.  Does micro-manager have an API you can use to make calls to it?

  • Hello, how can I interface a princeton ccd camera (microscope camera) with labview??

    Hello,
Im trying to connect my microscope cam to labview, but Im getting started with labview,
my camera is managed by  a software called win view and it works; but I'm trying to control the camera by labview.
what's the way to allow labview to see my cam??
    best regards

    Hi Marcio,
it is important to have right information on the hardware you are using. in particular which is your camera type (FireWire, analogic, Camera Link, GigaEthernet, USB) and if you have the drivers of your image acquisition board.
Have you got LabVIEW Development System only? Which version? Do you have others NI LabVIEW Modules or NI Softwares (for instance NI Vision)?
    I'm waiting for your news.

I got that error from PhotoBooth, no connected camera.
After messing around with all the usual suggestions (reset PRAM, repair permissions, etc.), I tried plugging in an external USB camera (happened to be a ProScope) and - for no apparent reason - the internal iSight camera sprang to life and has been working fine ever since.
Worth a try - any USB camera should do it.

  • Iphone 4 randomly came up with a grey screen showing 'ios6' and then said 'connect to iTunes'. However iTunes won't pick the device up and states there is an error with the device?

My iPhone was working fine yesterday and then showed a grey screen with the message 'ios6'. When I tried to use the phone it came up with the error message 'connect to iTunes'. When I got home from work I did this, at first iTunes could not detect the device and then it suggested a system restore. Once the restore had completed I selected the language, country/region and then came back to the same error message 'connect to iTunes'. When I tried to connect the device iTunes could not detect it and stated that there was a problem with the device.
I have telephoned my network provider to request a replacement device on my insurance but they have said they cannot authorise until I have had the fault diagnosed my Apple. Only problem is there are no genius appointments free until Friday!
