MyDAQ, connect sensors with multiplexer in labview

I am quite new to labview so hope someone can help. What  I am doing is to use NImyDAQ to connect 8 different sensors and show the output on labview. Since the myDAQ does not have enough input for 8 sensors, so I am using two 8 bits multiplexers to solve it.
Here is the question. How do the circuit draw in the labview which will make it works? I want to make an drop down button to select which sensor is connected and shown, therefore I need to output boolean value (0,1) to the digital input/output? I have try using case structure but seems difficult for me. Is there any example similar to what I am doing?

What you mean by skiping the DAQ Assistant? Can you make a drag and drop diagram for an example? I have no idea how the drop down menu giving out numerical value then goes into the Digital input in NImyDAQ.

  • Can NI myDAQ ai0 and ai1 be connected directly with thermocouples to measure temperature???

    Hi,
I am trying to use myDAQ to realize both temperature measurement and digital output.
By reading this page I have learned that how I can create a task for temperature measurement using thermocouple with a certain NI device.
    http://www.ni.com/white-paper/14338/en/
What I found to be really interesting is that when I create a task for myDAQ temperature measurement using a thermocouple when my NI myDAQ is connected with my PC, two AI ports ai0 and ai1 both appears in the create task window!!
I never found any information from NI myDAQ manual that "AI0 and AI1" can be connected directly with a thermocouple to measure temperature without using additional conditioning system. But this window suggests that myDAQ can be used in this way, is it?
I am still trying to do it this way, and I'll post some results here again.
I would be really appreciate if anyone could confirm or disprove my guess. Thank  you.

  • DAQ board + view sensor temp and pressure + labview, how to run all item with LV ?

    hi all,
it seems my duty almost clear....i just make manual programe with labview. So I have a case at my campus. We have a spakr-ignition machine, we use it for know how much we consume fuel, torque. I have a some PCI card (DAQ) some interface to connect it to PC. And I'm confiused to organize all item. Could you guys give some explanation for connected them with labview ? I will post a DAQ pic and interface pic.
    thx

    Hello maput,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments. Ssk's suggestion of a starting point is a good place to begin.  Many of our DAQ cards can handle -10 to 10V analog signals, however you may also have digital signals as well.  Some places to look for how connect everything together are listed below:

  • Inductive proximity sensor with DAQ

    Hi everyone
I am planing to connect my inductive proximity sensor with NI-9215 DAQ but not sure will that thing work perofectly. Also i don't know how to connect my sensor with the BNC terminal.
The sensor I am using is from automation direct AM9-05-1A with input volatage of 10-30 VDC and output voltage range from 0-5 VDC.
I want DAQ to monitor my output signal from sensor.

    Hey lynn
I am planing to use NI-9215 DAQ. Here is the link for that.
    http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/208793.
Since this kind of DAQ has BNC type of connectivity with it so I am not sure how to connect my sensor with this connector.
    Thanks

  • Connecting Sensor to Ipod touch

I purchased a Nike+ sensor for use with my iPod touch and it worked well (although the distances it recorded was out by about 10%). One day, it stopped working (only after using it for about 2 weeks) - the iPod could't find the sensor. I tried a range of things to get the senor and iPod to connect, but with no success
I took the senor back to the Apple stor who promptly replaced it, but this sensor isn't 'connecting' either. I've pressed the 'sleep' button, I turned the Nike+ on and off from the settings on my iPod, shaken the sensor next to the iPod and far away from th iPod... but nothing. I'm starting to worry if it's my iPod.
It has the latest version of the iPod software (and it has worked with the Nike+ before), but I can't see why it won''t connect.
Anybody have any ideas as to what I can do?

I had the same problem. After my old sensor wasn't recognized anymore I bought a new one from Apple. For the past 3 or more days I've been trying to pair the new sensor without success. Thought problem was on the iPod touch side. Did a reboot, reset network settings, and everything else I could think of. Finally wondered if it was the sensor. Luckily my wife has a nano with the Nike+ attachment. Her nano couldn't see the sensor either. I was about to call Apple when I decided to try one last time. I started the link on her nano then tapped the button on the sensor 3 times very quickly. I then immediately began tapping the sensor on a table. It linked! Tried again on my iPod touch with the same success. I haven't had a chance to go on a run with it yet due to snow, but the sensor is working while I walk around the house.
I'm not sure if the solution was pressing the button 3 times or tapping on a table or both...Or maybe just extreme luck, but I'm glad it finally works. Reminds me of the microwave back in college that you had start by hitting on the side while standing on one foot.
I wonder if it takes multiple button taps on the sensor to wake it. If so, then it would have been nice for that to be included in the instructions. I sure don't remember the last sensor being SO hard to pair.

  • HT2293 Do i need nike+ sensor with iPod nano 6.generation?

Do i need nike+ sensor with iPod nano 6.generation?

    According to this page: http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/features.html
Track your walk. Or your run.
The built-in accelerometer in iPod nano gives you real-time feedback on your workout, and you can upload data to the Nike+ website. There’s no need to connect a receiver or use a shoe sensor to track your steps, distance, pace, and time. Just clip on iPod nano and go. In the gym, connect iPod nano to a Nike + iPod compatible cardio machine to keep track of every workout. Back at your computer, upload all your data to the Nike+ website to create personal goals, check your progress, and challenge your friends to top your results.Learn more about Nike + iPod

  • Controlling XY stage connected to parallel port using labview

    Hi,
I have a XY stage which I can control using mach3 software. I want to control a signal generator, VNA and the XY stage at the same time. I have programmed SG and VNA using Labview but I am having difficulties controlling XY stage using Labview. I have never controlled an instrument connected through parallel port using labview.
Can anybody give me some ideas to start with? How do I use VISA to control the parallel port? I really appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

    Hi srms,
Since your question is related to using VISA, I would try posting your question on the Instrument Control Board. You're likely to have better luck there.

  • Can you use nike+  sensor with iPhone 5

can you use nike+ sensor with iPhone 5. like the device you place in your shoe. Can it be connected to your phone.

However, you don't need the sensor if you use the Nike+ Running app. It uses the phone's built in accelerometer.

  • Assistance with setting up labview hardware

We are trying to connect a NI cRIO-9025 controller to our desktop computer. When we open MAX, it recognizes the controller, but we are unable to install LabVIEW Real Time on the controller. I have attached screenshots of our MAX program setup. Any thoughts?
    Attachments:
    Screenshot_1.png ‏114 KB
    Screenshot_2.png ‏106 KB

When you can find your controller in MAX but you get an error during software installation, it is almost always related to a subnet mismatch between your target and controller ethernet ports. I would check the console output of the controller to check the IP configuration.
Since you appear to be connecting link local with your desktop system, you may want to test the IP reset on the controller as well. Enabling the IP reset on the controller will set the ethernet port to attempt an automatic assignment from a DHCP service on the network when the system restarts. If it cannot be assigned an address (and it should not if you are connecting directly to your target and have no router) it will default to a link local 169.254.x.x address, which, is what we want!
Here is a couple of related documentation that I think you will find useful for troubleshooting connection problems with CompactRIO's.

  • Timeout error with fieldpoint in Labview 7.0

I'm totally new to Labview and fieldpoint. I have Labview 7.0, with Fieldpoint 5.0 installed with updates for Labview 7 installed only, MAX 4.0. Configured my comms module fp1000 to com 2 on Pc all seems OK, and finds all my I/O modules. Only got 1 channel connected on a fp_rtd_124, and can read a temperature. Randomly I keep getting timeout error when using Labview (simple Vi setup to read temperature) or using MAX  and the "Start" icon. Can anyone advise on possible causes.
Also in my playing around today, I was creating my iak file using Fieldpoint Explorer 3.0.2 but since updating to Fieldpoint 5 & MAX 4, it seems to have deleted the Fieldpoint Explorer. Do I need to reinstall explorer or can I use MAX to do all the iak configs.
Finally how do i link my iak file (electrical units) to a scale file in the VI, so I can read engineering units. I see MAX has the scaling function, but where do I link them together.
If I'm approaching this in totally the wrong way, please advise
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Adrian
With regards to your LabVIEW program, would it be possible to send in your code and I will have a quick look at it. With regards to the time out error, do you receive an error code of some sort, this will help me in distinguising what is causing this error.
Within MAX you can now save your iak file configs and then you can point LabVIEW towards the file that you saved. You do not need to install Fieldpoint Explorer.

  • Connecting LV with Fieldpoint

    Help!
I am a seasoned LV developer that has to travel to a job where fieldpoint is installed and waiting for my software. I have never used FP before and do not know what I need to interconnect my software to the customers I/O. I am told that it is installed as a network interface and that the test software is working. They have a FP-TC-120 and an FP-AI-100.
Q1. What do I need to do to get the "AI Sample Channel.vi" to run.
Q2. The vi needs DEVICE and a CHANNEL array. Where do these values come from?
Q3. Are there any drivers needed to make the connection beside what is provided by NI for the FP, and the LV Runtime library?
    Steve

    Steve,
A1) The AI Sample Channel.vi will not run with FieldPoint. FieldPoint has its own API and does not use the DAQ API. With FieldPoint and LabVIEW 7.0 or later, you only need to worry about two VIs; FP Read and FP Write. The FP Read and FP Write VIs both take a FP IO Point reference input (right click, select Create Constant and then Browse for the item you wish). The VIs are polymorphic for your data type to be read or written. Options are Boolean, Boolean Array, Float and Float Array and you should choose the data type based upon the channel you are addressing. FieldPoint is configured via Measurement & Automation Explorer and it sounds like you customer has already done that. If you use the Example Finder in LabVIEW, you should find a number of FieldPoint Examples.
A2) See A1 above, device & channel array are not used by the FieldPoint driver.
A3) You will need LabVIEW and the NI-FieldPoint driver (which requires and includes Measurement & Automation Explorer), nothing else.
    Regards,
    Aaron

  • Connecting canberra osprey mca to LabVIEW

    Hello all,
Could anyone show me the way to connect an USB device to LabVIEW interface? The device is Osprey, an MCA manufactured by Canberra company.
I have a driver of this MCA but I dont know how to connect it with LabVIEW. http://www.canberra.com/products/radiochemistry_lab/digital-signal-processing.asp
Moreover, what's version of LabVIEW do I need to solve this problem? (I just have LabVIEW 8.5)
    Thank you all.

You need the Canberra SDK for Osprey. A quick review of the documentation reveals that the SDK includes COM, .NET and DLL interfaces.
With your LabVIEW version you should be able to use at least one of them.
    Ask Canberra for details.

  • Configuring JCo3 Connection Pool with single sign on on non SAP Java server

    Hi Everyone,
i have configured a connection pool on JBoss as per JCo3 Documentation and is working great.
Now I need help to configure this connection pool with single sign on so that RFc on SAP ECC systems are executed using end users credential rather than using single user name password used to configure JCo connection pool.
On SAP Java stack I am sure its possible within Java WebDynpro    and i assume using JCA resource adapter. But what if we don't want to use SAP Java App server.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Divyakumar Jain

    Eason, 你好!
I have exactly the same problem.  Did you find a solution to this problem?  If so, please let me know!

  • My iPhone 5 won't let me use my apps until I connect them with iTunes after downloading ios7. Solutions?

My iPhone 5 won't let me use my apps until I connect them with iTunes after downloading ios7.  There's just a thing that pops up and says that in order to activate banners and push notifications I have to connect the app with iTunes. The thing won't go away no matter how many times I push ok, and it doesn't give me another option. Solutions?

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!
I hope this helps, because it was incredibly frustrating. Good luck!

  • "An error occurred accessing your Microsoft SharePoint Foundation site files" connecting site with SharePoint Designer

I have a SharePoint 2013 environment with 1 AD Server, 1 DB Server and 1 APP Server, with 13 Web Applications running under the SharePoint.
Recently I rebuilted the application because of some infrasctrucutre problems, and I was able to solve all of them, except one. I can't connect to any of those 13 Web Apps with SharePoint Designer. When I try to connect, it always ask credentials, then it
seems like loading the site, then the error appears:
"An error occurred accessing your Microsoft SharePoint Foundation site files. Authors - if you are authoring against
a Web server, please contact the Webmaster for this server's Web site. WebMasters - please see the server's application event log for more details."
I've spent hours troubleshooting it, but none of the information I found was valid. I've already tried to clean the cache, but didn't work. I found plenty of related data of this
error with FrontPage and old versions of SharePoint, but nothing helped. All the Web Apps are SPD-Enabled at Site Collection Administration. I've tried connecting from many different PC's. The 15/LOGS folder doesn't get any data from this error, neither the
    Event Viewer.
I really don't know what else to do. Please Help!

I found the answer of my issue was in a .NET Agent installed by NewRelic on the server. I found a connection trouble with Fiddler, then I end up figuring this out:
This can be the result of Real User Monitoring so the first step in troubleshooting would be to disable it and see how it affects the application. The .Net Agent injects snippets of javascript into the header of pages sent to the users browser to measure the
page load time on the user's end.
You can disable RUM by editing newrelic.config and changing this line:
    <browserMonitoring autoInstrument="true"/>
    to this:
    <browserMonitoring autoInstrument="false"/>
