Connecting to development to production
HI ALL,
I have portal development server DEV1 and it was connecting to ABAP quality server QUA1.Now i want to connect
this DEV1(portal server) to ABAPproduction server (PRO1).
What are changes i need to do to connecting to ABAP Production.
I want configure SSO,for this i need to configure SLD and JCO's?
Regards,
Suresh
Hello Suresh,
What do you mean by system object? When I mentioned system object in my earlier post I was merely referring to the System you create for the backend from System Administration->System Configuration.
I am assuming that since you are connecting to the PRD systems which usually are in a load balanced mode, you will have to create a new system for PRD and enter details like the hostname, msg server, port. and assign the aliases to them.
Yes since you are using JCo's you will also have to create an ABAP system in the SLD as well.
Thanks,
GLM

Any help would be appreciated.Hi Vinay,
As Visakh mentioned, the issue usually occurs because the package runs in 64-bit runtime, however, the Excel driver is 32-bit. According to your another thread, it seems that you use SSIS 2005, right? In SSIS 2005, there is no “use 32 bit runtime” option
for the package executions of a SSIS package job step. In this condition, you have two choices:
Install the 64-bit Microsoft ACE OLE DB 12.0 Provider on the production server. Here is the download link (AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe):
http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=13255
Create a CmdExec type job step instead of SSIS Package job step, so that we can call 32-bit DTExec.exe to execute the package within command line. For more information, please see:

Development and Production Requirements for a Forms/Report application
Dear all,
We have an application witch run in client/Server mode using Forms/Reports 6i For 300 users. We want to migrate it on Forms/Reports 9I using Oracle 9IAS and Oracle 9IDB.
I would like to have advises about material requirements of both development and production environment((developer deskop, development appServer and databaseServer, end user desktop, production databaseServer and production AppServer).
Thank u for giving more details about my request.I have my dev and production on 2 different databases/instances, and the workspaces have a different name aswell (think 'dev' and 'prod').
I do reuse my application ids, which makes the whole process a lot more manageable: easier for me to identify and replacing a whole application.
However, when i want to replace only 1 page, apex stumbles over the workspace. Bummer.
So i took an export of a page on both workspaces, and opened the files.
prompt Set Credentials...
begin
-- Assumes you are running the script connected to SQL*Plus as the Oracle user APEX_040100 or as the owner (parsing schema) of the application.
wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id=>nvl(wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id,1377027056414870));
end;
wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id,1377027056414870));
I took both workspace IDs and keep them in a simple txt in my installation-files folder. Each time i need to import a page from dev->prod i go in the exported file from dev and change the workspace id to the id of my production workspace id. Everything works magically after that.
If your application ids also differ, you can try changing the id in the exported file aswell, but i can't tell if it works or not since i've not done that yet.
prompt Set Application ID...
begin
-- SET APPLICATION ID
wwv_flow.g_flow_id := nvl(wwv_flow_application_install.get_application_id,130);
wwv_flow_api.g_id_offset := nvl(wwv_flow_application_install.get_offset,0);
null;
end;where of course you'd change around nvl(wwv_flow_application_install.get_application_id,130); -

Can anyone help for this error.
Many thanx in AdvanceHi Babloo,
According to the error message, the package may have failed are as follows:
The user account that is used to run the package under SQL Server Agent in PRODUCTION server differs from the original package author.
The user account does not have the required permissions to make connections or to access resources outside the SSIS package.
The package may not run in the following scenarios:
The current user cannot decrypt secrets from the package. This scenario can occur if the current account or the execution account differs from the original package author, and the package's ProtectionLevel property setting does not let the current user
decrypt secrets in the package. In this scenario, we can change the SSIS Package ProtectionLevel property to EncryptSensitiveWithPassword, then modify the SQL Server Agent job step command line to include this password.
File access fails because the current user does not have the required permissions to write to the file share that the connection manager accesses. In this scenario, we can create a SQL Server Agent proxy account. This proxy account must use a credential
that lets SQL Server Agent run the job as the account that created the package or as an account that has the required permissions.

Crystal Develop and Production Guidelines in SQL Server (Crystal 9)
We have development and production environment on 2 different machines.
It seems when we want to migrate a report from dev to prod, we need to reset the DSN or connection and crystal then forces us to respecify all field names in a report.
It is a big pain. Has anyone seen this?
Thanks
Ken Light
DBA Interior HealthHi
When you migrate a report, you need to
- Create a DSN with same name on Production as it was on Test.
- Do a set Datasource location.
- Verify database to ensure all changes made in the database are reflected.
- If you have used stored procedure with parameter in your report, then uncheck the above option and then refresh the report.
Hope this helps!!!

Unable to get changes done in Development to Production
Hi Gurus,
I have successfully transported Bex Query from BID to BIP system. Now I made some changes in the Bex Query in BID and transported to BIP But I am unable to get changes done in Development to Production.
Regards
Amit SrivastavaHi Amit,
Its because package infomation of new objects that are used in bex query are local object($tmp). For this reason, althouh you are getting a request via rsa1 and doing some changes in bex query, only the objects which are has different package from $ tmp, written into request.
For the solution, you need to go rsa1 and transport connection, select your bex query then select 'only necessary objects', then transport this request. -
MII Development - Quality - Production promotion
Hi
Does anyone has experience in promotion of MII projects from Development to Production via SAP standard transporation?.
What we currently doing is transfer (export imports) of MII projects from one server to another server (i.e Development server to Test server and then to Production Server). I know there is CTS. Is CTS onyl available for ABAP or also available for MII?
Issues that we face during the transfer (import and exports) are
- The System connections and Data Servers' names have to be rename to have exact name as in the current system.
- The SQL code , has to be rename to match for each system. Especially if you work with Schema (writing schema names in the SQL code).
- This means the development has a lot of dependency for each current systems.
How do you deal with that???
Edited by: Seng Kiang Hoe on Dec 14, 2010 10:32 AMHi,
Your current promotion or transport process is common for MII 12.0 customers. New in 12.1 is the ability to use content management within the workbench for your MII objects. It uses [NWDI|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mii121/helpdata/en/48/cfd8b4c1d310b4e10000000a421138/content.htm] to do this. You may want to research it further.
The [MII 12.x best practice |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/f08d7ae2-6f56-2c10-50b4-8a3bb1d43502]guide talks about naming your data servers so that you don't have to change them when you transport. You should look into it and make some changes.

Probably, in your m/c was installed an old sqlnet driver.(Not
compatible)
Remove the old sqlnet driver and install new sqlnet driver from
the Oracle 8.1.4 Beta CD.
Oracle DB can not receive connection if there is an old sqlnet
(not compatible) driver in one m/c but if you connect from other
m/c, it will work.
I hope it'll helps

Development and product environment
Dear all,
I want to setup two databases in seperated server. One for development purpose and another for product environment.
Which good method/tool in oracle can transfer data (like pl/sql,tables,fields) from
development to product environment?
Thanks youI would strongly suggest cloning the database from Development to Production, using RMAN. You get a proper copy that way - and it isn't hard to do. Howard Rogers has all the answers here: http://www.dizwell.com/prod/node/9

Questions on Analyzer Upgrade and Moving Analyzer Reports from Development to Production
Hi,We run Analyzer 5.0.3. We are planning to go to Analyzer 7.2. Did any body go thru this upgrade? If so, what is your opinion and tips that may help. Also, we never had Analyzer development environment. We are planning on having Analyzer development environment. In our installation, all of the Analyzer reports are centrally developed based on user requests. Once we have development and production at the same Analyzer version, if a report is developed in the development system, how can the report be mirateed/moved from development to production system?Thank you for your help,Prasant
Balaji,
Has this been done yet?

How to populate SNDPRN with different values in Development and Production?
Hello experts,
I have to fill the field SNDPRN in the message mapping with a different value in Development and in Production. As I am new to PI, I used a simple solution - but it is rather ugly: I set a constant value in the mapping in development and a different one in Production. However, I would like to know if there is any solution to have a condition in the mapping like:
IF system is Development, set SNDPRN as Constant1.
IF system is Production, set SNDPRN as Constant2.
(And eventually IF system is Test, set SNDPRN as Constant3)
Thanks in advance for your help,
LuisHi Luis,
You can go with the parameterized mapping , where you can provide different values for SNDPRN in interface determination for development and production.
At point of time if you want to change the values it requires only a change in the configuration.
Please refer the below links for reference;
Parameterized Mapping Programs - Enterprise Services Repository - SAP Library
http://scn.sap.com/people/jin.shin/blog/2008/02/14/sap-pi-71-mapping-enhancements-series-parameterized-message-mappings
We are following the same approach for some of our interfaces.

10. Stopped and started the weblogic server to which apex.war was deployed
11. In SQL Developer, View, RESTful Services. In the RESTful services windows hit connect, Create a new connection,
Connection Name DEV
Username adminlistener
selected http protocol
Hostname weblogicservername
Port 7250
Server Path /apex
Workspace (blank)
On the Authentication dialog
Username adminlistener
Password passwordsuppliedabove in step 6
Response is a dialog box titled Authentication Failed
message - Cannot connect to DEV. HTTP/1.1 403 Target service not allowed
NOTHING UNUSUAL IN ANY OF THE WEBLOGIC LOG FILES, EXCEPT THAT IT STATES
'Oracle REST Data Services version : 2.0.6.27.18.06' when I've installed 2.0.7.
Any help much appreciatedFurther to the above post, I thought I'd simplify my Apex Listener install just to see if I can connect to it via SQL Developer
So downloaded the latest version 2.0.8 and decided to configure and run the Listener on my pc whilst still connecting to the same database.
Operating system : Window 7 Pro 64 bit
Oracle Apex Listener 2.0.8
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b17)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
Went through the configuration as above, once started I tried again to access the listener via SQL Developer. This time I received this output from the listener:
INFO: Error: ORA-02291: integrity constraint (APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_RT$APPROVALS_SGID_FK) violated - parent key not found, occurred during execution of: [CALL, insert into wwv_flow_rt$approvals (user_name,status,client_id,security_group_id,created_by,created_on,updated_by,updated_on) values(/*in:user_id*/?,/*in:status*/?,/*in:client_id*/?,/*in:tenant_id*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?), [tenant_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [client_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [user_id, in, class java.lang.String], [status, in, class oracle.dbtools.rt.oauth.ApprovalRequest$Status], [created, in, class java.sql.Timestamp]]with values: [adminlistener, APPROVED, 3858401374580004, -1, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785]
SQL Developer responded with an Authentication Failed titled dialog with the following displayed in the body of the dialog
Cannot connect to DEV.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to tackle this?
