Connecting to Terminal Services Web Access

Is there any way to connect to Terminal Services Web Access from a Mac that runs OSX v. 10.8.3?

Not that I know of, but you can connect to an RDP server using this:

  • Accessing client using Windows 2008 Terminal Service - Web Access?

    Dear experts,
We are developing a network infrastructure solution for our new customer's B1 8.8 implementation.
Our customer would like to utilize Windows Server 2008 Terminal Service to connect B1 client in remote branch with server in head office area. And they want to use Terminal Service - WEB ACCESS. Base on our experience, we successfully implement B1 using Remote Desktop Connection or Citrix to support B1 client in the remote area.
My question is, Has SAP already support to utilize windows "Terminal Service - Web Access" to access B1 client?
If Yes then what are possible issues and solutions?
    Thanks,
    Indra

    Hi,
when we said to customer that it is better to use citrix, they will see some concerns as follows:
    1. Investment to buy citrix server
    2. License of citrix
    3. installation time for ICA client
    4. maintenance cost for citrix and its server
    The benefits are as follows:
    1. Reduce cost to purchase B1 license. Remote and LAN users can access B1 through citrix
    2. The connection speed. Citrix is more faster than RDC or terminal services either web access or not
    3. The security reason. Check this link:
    http://www.virtualizationadmin.com/articles-tutorials/terminal-services/management-tools/terminal-services-internet-information-server.html
In the support platform, there is no windows terminal services web access info. You may check it here:
    http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/platforms
The supported hosted environments are using citrix or windows terminal service. For remote users, the citrix is used for web access and windows terminal services are using IP and the connection is using internet (do not use VPN).
The citrix is not very expensive. We must make them realize the benefit.
(in english : we must convince the customer about the citrixs benefit. it is not too expensive. The citrix could be buy from small reseller company so that its price is acceptable. SAP AG suggested to use citrix because it is very best web access).
I know bhs because I am from Indonesia hehehe....

  • Cannot delegate Reporting Services Web access to domain user / group, User does not have required permissions

    Hi
    I have an SCCM 2012 SP1 CU3 installation on a Server 2008 R2 + SQL 2008 R2.
I'm having trouble delegating Reporting Services Web Access to a standard domain user.
I have followed the instructions from these blogs:
    http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/creating-the-reporting-user-role-in-configmgr-2012/
    http://www.wolffhaven45.com/blog/sccm/assigning-users-to-configmgr-reportusers-group-in-sccm-2012/
No matter how I try, I cannot get the reports to show for a standard domain user. In the console no reports are showing and in the web access I get
"User domain\user does not have required permissions........"
The only thing that is consistenly working when I test is to put the AD Group on the Security Role "Full Administrator".
    Then everything will show up.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks everyone for helping me with tips. I have now solved the problem. It was the permissions from SCCM that did not replicate to the Reporting Server.
In srsrp.log I got these error messages:
Could not retrieve the reporting service name for instance 'MSSQLSERVER'
    Invalid class
Could not stop the reporting serviceAfter googling a litte I found these 2 sites with similiar problems:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d4a7f93a-506f-4e3f-b5fc-bd2b087277da/ssrs-permissions-do-not-add?forum=configmanagergeneral
    http://www.microtom.net/microsoft-system-center/software-distribution/sccm-2012-reporting-services-do-not-install
    So I ran the command for SQL 2008 R2: mofcomp.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof
and BAAM, everything started to work =)

  • IPhone cannot connect to Exchange Outlook Web Access ( OWA )

Let me start by saying that my company will not activate POP or IMAP on their Exchange mail server. I am stuck with using their OWA interface into Exchange. However, when I enter the web address for OWA it never gets there. The iPhone will get to the login screen, but can never access the web interface.

    Hi,
If you browse to the OWA address from a Microsoft Windows system using Internet Explorer, does it bring you to a web form to login or do you get a Windows login popup (NTLM)?
I have tried accessing OWA where Exchange is not setup for a "forms" web page login, but rather popping up a windows login box to enter username and password.
    It worked.

  • Problem with Connection on Terminal Services

    CR XI Pro VS 2005
I've got several reports in a .net application.
Connection data is initialised the usual way with a ConnectionInfo object.
On the client workstation a CRRedist2005_x86.msi is installed.
    Everything is working fine.
But when I try to open a report while the application is running under Citrix nothing is happening for a long time - then a message box appears with textboxes for server, database, user and pwd. The first three are the correct entries from the conn-object, the pwd is empty.
When I try to enter the password, a MsgBox says: 'Authentification Error. Try again.'
I hope someone can help me out.

    Hi Amit,
    thanks for your reply.
I did install the SQLNativeClient on the server but nothing really changed. Afterwards I did deinstall the Redist-Utility AND my application and installed both of them new.
    And now it works.
I really wonder why and what has been wrong before.

  • RD web access 3 passwords to connect

I am setting up a new remote desktop access gateway to allow users to connect to their local desktops. I have it working but it requires 3 logins to connect. 1 for the web access, 2. for the RD gateway and then to the PC. Is there a way to streamline that
down to one or two password prompts?
    -Ben

    Hi Ben,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Initially suggest you to update RDP 8.1 which will work better for this scenario.
Yes, there is a way to reduce the number of password prompt, here you need to enable RD Web Access Single Sign-On (SSO), where the password will be saved and need to enter the credential for single time.
There are certain requirements for this feature, as follow.
    • To take advantage of the new Web SSO feature, the client must be running Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) 7.0.
    • In order for Web SSO to work:
    1. The connection in RemoteApp and Desktop Connections must have an ID. By default, it is set to the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the RD Connection Broker server in case of RD Connection Broker mode. In RD Session mode, it is set to the FQDN of the
    RD Web Access server.
    2. RemoteApp programs must be digitally signed using a Server Authentication certificate [Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate]. The certificate Enhanced Key Usage section must contain ‘Server Authentication (1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.1)’. More details about the types
of certificates used to digitally sign RemoteApp programs can be found here.
    3. Client operating systems must trust the certificate with which the RemoteApp programs are signed.

  • Visio Web Access web part connection order

I have a Visio Web Access webpart that is currently connected to 3 different query filter webparts.  Here is what the query filter webparts are doing
     - #1 - This is passing in the page name to the "Web Drawing Url and Page Name" connection
     - #2 - This is passing in the shape name to the "Shapes to Highlight" connection
     - #3 - This is passing in the shape name to the "Shape to View" connection
#2 and #3 pull from the same query string variable because I want to highlight AND center/zoom on a selected shape.  Everything works fine if I am already on the default page for the drawing but if I need to have it show a different page the highlighting
works but the center/zoom functionality does not work.
I assume this occurs because it is doing the zoom/center before it changes drawings.  I tried changing the order in which I made the connections so that the center/zoom would come last but that did not work.
How can I make it so that it will do the center/zoom on pages that are not the default?

I have 3 query string filter web parts and they are all connected to the Visio Web Access web part through the browser.  There is no problem in setting up the connections.  The problem is that trying to change pages, highlight a shape, and zoom
in/center on a shape in the same page load does not always perform as expected.  Here is a more elaborate description of what I'm doing:
I have two query strings, "OfficeFloor" and "Employee" which are being passed into the web page.  The query string web part for "Web
Drawing Url and Page Name" grabs the page name from "OfficeFloor" because each of my pages in the Visio drawing represents a floor plan ("1st Floor", "2nd Floor", etc.).  The query string web parts for "Shapes
to Highlight" and "Shape to View" BOTH pull from "Employee" because each shape in the Visio drawing represents
where an employee sits.  So an example request for the page would be "http://www.website.com/EmployeeFinder.aspx?OfficeFloor=3rdFloor&Employee=BobSmith" which would ideally make the Visio Web Access web part go to the page for the 3rd floor and then
zoom/center and highlight where Bob Smith sits.
If the "3rd Floor" page is the default page for the Visio web access then it works fine and it zooms in, centers on, and highlights the "Bob Smith" shape.  However, if the "3rd Floor" page is not the default then it will only highlight
the "Bob Smith" shape and NOT zoom in/ center on it.

  • Microsoft SQL 2005, Terminal Services and Tiger

We found a great application we need to use at work. Unfortunately, it runs only on Windows. We will need to run it on a Windows server, running SQL Server 2005, and Macs interacting with it using MS Terminal Server. At least that is what someone at Dell said. This ends up being a huge and complicated purchase for us.
All this is totally foreign to me. I set up our Mac network, using OSX Server 10.2, migrating up to 10.4. We have 16 computers on the network, and it runs reasonably well. I did not need months of training to set it up. There are many things I do not understand and features that I have zero idea about...but for email, web, ftp and application serving, it works well.
We have 13 Macs, 2 Windows boxes and one UNIX box on the network.
Has anyone used SQL 2005? Has anyone had to connect thru Terminal Services to a Windows Server?

    Hi John!
Using Terminal Services on a Windows server is common in corporate environments and solves a lot of issues where Macs can't run Windows-only software.
Since the Windows server will be the only Windows machine on your network and you only need it for a specialized purpose, you can probably get by with purchasing Windows Small Business Server Premium, which comes with a SQL Server. You'll have to ask the vendor if this version will work with their product. See this link on Microsoft's website http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/sbs/default.mspx.
Many third party database applications will facilitate the setup of the datbase with the SQL server, but they won't support the SQL software and its security. I'd advise hiring a contractor to help with the installation and setting up a backup (preferably someone that can become familiar with your environment and provide ongoing support).
    Hope this helps! bill

  • Remote Desktop 2012 R2 - Can't get RD Gateway with RD Web Access working through just 443

I have one server (2012 r2 fully updated) running all remote desktop roles (RD Web Access, RD Gateway, RD Licensing, RD Connection Broker, RD Session Host) and a separate domain controller.
I have RD Web Access published to cloud.mydomain.co.uk and accessing cloud.mydomain.co.uk/RDWeb works fine.
I want to setup the environment so only port 443 is open from the outside (thus the RD Gateway is installed) and the user can login through RDWeb and click on an app to launch it.
If I leave port 3389 open along with 443 and log on to RDWeb and click the remote app, this works fine.
If I close 3389 on the external firewall and only leave open 443, I can connect AND login to RDWeb but I cannot open the connection
    This is expected:
    http://i.imgur.com/9j2HRqm.png
    Error:
    http://i.imgur.com/2LH2c7T.png
Digging in the event viewer yielded: http://i.imgur.com/M9uHm0o.png
Which led me to test change the following setting in the resource access policy, as a test:
    http://i.imgur.com/FlGObFr.png
This still didn't work but yielded a different error in event viewer:
    http://i.imgur.com/LkaCfU4.png
Now I suspect I have misconfigured something somewhere in terms of the last event where it suggests it can't connect to resource "cloud.mydomain.co.uk" I would have expected this to be the internal FQDN of my session host. Or, I am hitting some sort
of odd problem because I have all the roles on the same box.
Any assistance greatly appreciated. I'm keen to find the root cause behind this as I need to document this solution so don't want to invalidate by messing around too much with settings.

    Hi Gavin,
If you use RD Gateway then you only need to open TCP port 443 and UDP port 3391 and forward them to your RD Gateway server.  You may have RD Web Access (uses TCP port 443) and RDG running on the same server.
When an external client launches a RemoteApp they will connect to your RD Gateway via TCP port 443 and UDP port 3391, then the RDG will connect to your internal RDSH servers using TCP port 3389 and UDP port 3389 on behalf of the external client.  In
this way the RDG will act as a middleman between your external users and your internal RDSH servers.
In Server Manager - Remote Desktop Services - Overview - Tasks - Deployment Properties you need to specify the external FQDN of your RD Gateway server.  If you have RDWeb and RDG on the same server this would be the same FQDN that your users will use
for RDWeb.  For example, if your users use https://rds1.yourdomain.com/rdweb to connect to your RD Web Access site, then you would enter rds1.yourdomain.com for the RD Gateway name in deployment properties.
(Above one Quoted from this thread answered by TP).
In addition please see that you have properly configured RD Rap & RD Rap policy under RD Gateway manager and also properly configured certificates to match server name.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Running LabVIEW 7.1 on Windows 2003 Server with Terminal Services

We are setting up a newtork based solution with LabView. I have looked for documentation on installing LV 7.1 on a Windows 2003 server to run the applications and then have destkops connect to it. Can this be done with a Terminal Services Access solution? Another words, if we were to purchase the LV Volume License Manager, can you install LV 7.1 onto a Windows 2003 server and run the application through TS across a 1GB backbone from the desktop, which makes the server do all the processing?

Sorry for the delay. I'm surprised Philip didn't get back to us... Phil
are you there? Based on his comments, I think he misunderstands your
    situation (no offense Phil).
You and I are both talking about the same thing. You basically want a
terminal server license. NI will not provide it. They told me (over the
phone) to get a multi-seat license (MSL). IMO, that's unacceptable. I
expect a LV license taylored specifically for thin client networks. A
multi-seat license is for -->installing<-- on multiple machines. It
conforms to a totally different set of rules. One big one, an MSL assumes
that you intend to run LV locally to interact with DAQ hardware. Since
this won't be done with the thin client, you shouldn't have to pay for it.

Since you are talking about a Microsoft operating system, I would say this
cannot be done without some additional/costly junk installed.
Here's another option. If the people you're supporting don't have any
platform dependent things like ActiveX in their LV applications, you
should consider using a Linux-based terminal server. I know for a fact it
    works.
I've assisted in setting up a network like this before:
    * One Linux terminal server with LabVIEW for Linux (Full Dev)
    * One WinXP box on the network with LabVIEW for Win (Prof Dev)
    * 5 cheap thin clients
They developed LabVIEW source code on the thin clients and then compiled
packages on the WinXP box for distribution to their customers. The WinXP
was only used for compiles so they just hopped on when necessary. The
eventual plan is for the thin clients to simply open a RemoteDesktop
(using RDP) terminal session and do the compiles from there. I'm not sure
how to do that yet... on the Windows side.

Phil must have thought you needed a LV application to access the front
panel controls of another LV application running on a remote machine. The
VI server is handy in that area but useless in your case.
Hey, you wanna hear about cheap network infrastructure? We bought our
thin client boxes for $15 each! Go to ltsp.org if you want more info on
configuring Linux as a terminal server.

  • RD Web Access From The Internet/External

I’m requesting help with accessing from the internet (external web) a RD Web Access Connection (SSL) that I setup and configured on a Windows 2008 R2 Server.
My setup is as follows. All server rolls are configured and running on one Windows 2008 R2 Server (VM).
    1.
    Remote Desktop Services
    a.
    RemoteApp Manager
    b.
    Remote Desktop Connection Manager
    c.
    RD Gateway Manager
    d.
    RD Session Host Configuration
    e.
    Remote Desktop Service Manager
    f.
    Remote Desktop Licensing
    2.
    Web Server (IIS)
All my configurations are working perfectly internal/intranet. I can access all published applications and remote desktop connectivity via (SSL) from IE 9 web browser.
The URL that is used internally is: (https://ServerName/RDWEB).
When I attempt to connect via the internet I’m getting an “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” message.
I’m using Dynamic DNS to access the server hosting the (IIS Remote Access Web Page URL), example (https://DDNS/RDWEB). I’ve opened ports 443 & 80
on my Untangle firewall, also port forwarding for 3389.
Any and all help will be appreciated.

    Freek,
Thank you for your response. I tested Telnet as you suggested, and both FQDN and IP address were able to establish a Telnet connection to my RD Web Access Server.
The “NSLOOKUP” resolved the DNS server name. Also, I am able to us the IP address, URL (https://IP/REWEB) in IE9 to browse to my RD Web Access Server site. The above should confirm DNS IS working correctly within my internal network.
My connection issue is from external/internet access to my RD Web Access Server site. All my networked devices (internal) are natted IP assigned behind an “Untangle
Gateway” firewall and routable internally only.
Although, I’ve opened ports, created firewall rules to pass traffic on ports 443, 3389 my problem still exist. Since my internal natted devices are not routable
from the internet, I am using a DDNS host URL from (www.dyndns.org) to route from the internet to my internal site server. As it stands now, I suspect the problem maybe at the Untangle Gateway”. I will focus my attention there.
Thank you again for your help.

  • Connecting to Remote Desktop Published Apps through RD Web Access not working

    Hello,
I have configured an RD Gateway server. My scenario is like I have a windows 2012R2 server with all RD components (Gateway, web access, connection broker, session host) configured, since this is for a poc. Externally I can access rd web access portal (https://<servername.domain.com>/rdweb)
and can connect to the target server using "Connect to a remote pc" tab without any issue.
But I can't connect to any published app from "Remote App and Desktop". The error I recieve is "unable to connect to remote pc. please provide the fully-qualified name......."
At the same time I can see below errors in event logs related to connection broker:
    Error 802:
RD Connection Broker failed to process the connection request for user domain\Administrator.
    Error: Element not found.
    Event 1306:
Remote Desktop Connection Broker Client failed to redirect the user domain\Administrator.
    Error: NULL
    Error 1296:
Remote Desktop Connection Broker Client failed while getting redirection packet from Connection Broker.
    User : domain\Administrator
    Error: Element not found.
Googling I could see some posts related to these issues, mentioning about to check the network connectivity between RDCB and the target server. I can defenitely say it is fine and already mentioned I can connect to the same server using "connect to
    remote pc" tab.
Just FYI, I have this server as Amazon EC2 instance and the domain is configured as Amazon directory service. Can someone please help me at the earliest.. This is pretty urgent as my tasks are pending due to this issue..

Please also ensure involved machines are fully patched and keep port 443 of the TS server open.
When external users connect to the Web Access page, are they able to see remote apps? If not, please check whether user assignment setting is configured correctly for remote apps.
Are users able to open remote apps from internal network?
