Connection to server broken: non-chunked HTTP read lost connection

A java applet popped this up on my screen, no idea where to look on my machine - it's only the second time its happened in many weeks but I would like to be able to interact with the cause.
Java was installed from Sun's download in June 2006 on Windows Adv. Server. MS auto update and defender currently active.

some program is trying to get some update from its server and so it is trying to connect to its server but either you don't have internet connection or it can have low speed, because of this reason some program show this error "Connection to server broken: non-chunked HTTP read lost connection". so you have to stop the scheduling of that program.

  • Non-Blocking SocketChannel read give Connection timed out

    Hi,
My program is using Non-Block NIO SocketChannel for both Server and Client sides. However, if the connection between server and client has been idle for a while, when the client try to communicate with server, it gets blocked for a while (15 minutes) and then receives the following exception:
    java.io.IOException: Connection timed out
         at sun.nio.ch.FileDispatcher.read0(Native Method)
         at sun.nio.ch.SocketDispatcher.read(Unknown Source)
         at sun.nio.ch.IOUtil.readIntoNativeBuffer(Unknown Source)
         at sun.nio.ch.IOUtil.read(Unknown Source)
         at sun.nio.ch.SocketChannelImpl.read(Unknown Source)
How can this be since the read is in Non-Blocking mode? Also, is there anyway to determine the timeout without being blocked?

This would mean that you are trying to read from the socket without having properly completed the connection, which timed out. I would say you are connecting in non-blocking mode but not calling finishConnect() when you get OP_CONNECT.

  • Will connect to network but none of the browsers will connect to internet

i have a powerbook g4 12 in. that i have been using on my pcs wireless network for about 6 months with no problems. last week something happened where now i can only connect to the internet through aol or aim. neither internet exp. or safari are able to connect. also, itunes cant connect to the music store. the p.book is connecting to the network and i have tried deleting that network form my powerbook and refinding it. any help is greatly appreciated, as i am a fairly recent mac convert. i am running osx 10.4.3
    powerbook 64   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I am experiencing this exact problem as well. I usually connect at home via a Linksys wifi network. Everything worked fine until about Dec 23, after which I could connect to the network but no web pages. I can see via IP address, print via print server, see the router configuration page, but no domain names will load in any browser. The weird thing is that no other computers on the network (which I administer) have had a problem, and no changes were made to either the powerbook or the network. On a road trip last week, I found I could connect to some other wifi locations (one was airport, one unknown)via dns, but could not on some other previously known good locations.
I have tried manually entering DNS numbers in the airport configuration, but that didn't work.
    Any suggestions?

  • When I try to get my email and I am outside our wireless network I get a "lost connection to server" message.  I am trying to connect to Outlook.

When I try to get my email and I am outside our wireless network I get a "lost connection to server " message

Outlook is a mail client for PCs and Macs. Who is your mail provider? If you're talking about a business mail system, it may not be accessible from outside the company network. You will need to check with your IT department.

  • Connection Integration Server failed. Status: HTTP/1.0 401 Unauthorized

    Hello everybody,
I know, that this topic is discuss several times, but I couldn't find a satisfied solution. Sorry for the questions again.
    Question:
Scenario: We have to realize a proxy connection between BW 3.5 and SAP XI 3.0. SLDCHECK works fine. But we have trouble with the http - Connection. We create a destionation via TA SM59:
. Target Host  : Hostname SAP XI Integration Server
    - Service No: <Port>
    -  Path Prefix: /sap/xi/engine?type=entry
    - User: XIAPPLUSER
(this destionation works fine in another Sender systems)
If we try to test the connection. We get an Logon Prompt for the SAP XI Web Application Server back. Funny is, if we put the same User / Password from SM59 in, we get no error message back. But we couldn't put any logon / user information in the proxy area. What can we do ?
    I did/checked follow:
    - SAP XI: The User XIAPPLUSER, has the right password and authorizations,
    - SAP BW: The Destionation is created and the System - Role (sxmb_adm) ist maintained.
    - SAP BW: we compare the configuration with other Sender - Systems
    - SAP BW: we create the Destionation with RFC - Typ H
    Remark:
I created the same Destionation in other Sender-Systems: Works fine, we didn't get any logon promp, if we test the http Destination via SM59.
    Thanks for your help
    Regards
    Stephan

    Hello Sandro,
I execute the report, but the solution was in both systems the same:
    Result:
    In Exchange Profile: http:<hostname:Port>/rep
    In Table SPROXSET : <blank>
    Status: OK: Address maintained
    I also tried follow reports:
    SPROX_CHECK_IFR_CONNECTION
Result: Integration Builder server functioning correctly. Data unterstood
    SPROX_CHECK_HTTP_COMMUNICATION
    Result: HTTP communication functioning
    SPROX_CHECK_IFR_RESPONSE
Result: I get a list of xml - entries back
    Remark:
I thought the cache information was obsolete. I start a full cache refresh on SAP XI site, without success.
    Remark 2:
I checked the system area, and I found out, that the Sender System with the problem is a non UNICODE and our SAP XI is a Unicode. Is this a reason, we have a http connection problem ? And when yes, what can we do.....
    Thanks

For the last 2 days when I try to rent a movie on my Apple TV the Apple TV attempts to access the iTunes Store and then I get a message saying Apple TV cannot connect to the server at this time. Please try again later. I have no trouble connecting to Netflix, Hulu or any of the other apps. I also have no trouble connecting to the iTunes Store using my iPhone or iPad. I have a similar problem. After a recent update I cannot access the iTunes Store to resubscribe to Hulu. "Cannot access iTunes Store at this time." Dunno what to do.

  • Sometimes Firefox can access a website, then other times it says cannot connect to server, but it must be able to connect otherwise I wouldn't be able to go on at all! It's not the website, because loads of other people use it too. Help?!

Sometimes Firefox lets me get onto websites, then othertimes it says it cannot connect to the server, even though it must be able to because it wouldn't let me go on at all. It's becoming really annoying and I really need to use the websites.

    Hi There Linc Davis,
    Wow, you are the best.
Yip this is what the website looks like. Great job Linc Davis.
Not surprised that the "Shop" tab is missing. Darn.
Well can you try to access it's "sister" website: astralmusic.com and astralmusicshop.com?
Since you are awesome with the "Flash" can you investigate if this website has a issue withis this "Flash" too?
    Please Linc Davis

    1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
    2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • Ipad 2 recently update to 8.1.2, now won't connect to server. All other computers in house connect fine. Any ideas?

Our Ipad 2 suddenly won't connect to our wifi.  Two pc's and an adroid are connecting fine.  Recently updated to ios 8.1.2.    Have turned it off and on, have turned off network in "settings," and back on. What will "reset network settings" do? It says it will return to factory defaults, so does that mean only that the current wifi router network information will be deleted, but nothing else?
    Any other ideas?

Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds
On your iPad use Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings - This causes the iPad to forget all WiFi networks. No other settings are affected.

  • Network Go Connect to Server is broken

OS 10.4.8 g4 1.33ghz gig RAM plenty of HD.
Connect To Server doesn' t recognize any way to connect to my domain name ftp. I have to use Cyberduck.
I either get a neverending afp search or the "some data error can't be found" message.
I have read many many comments about this feature that indicate it is seriously messed up. I doubt it will ever be fixed.
I haven't updated to 10.4.9 but i don't think it addressed this problem at all.
My VPN/Exchange server connection is also broken since some security update.
This is the first time since 1995 that I have been p----- off at the Mac. This kind of thing is just not what i expect from Apple.

No, my domain host told me to use xx.xx.xx.xx, but the ftp prefix style doesn't work either, it also gets an error -36.
No combination of anything gets anything but an afp search or an error -36.
    It just doesn't f------g work.
I had never heard of afp before this debacle.
Why can't they get a simple thing like an ftp transfer right? Cyberduck is trivially easy and doesn't require arcane knowlege of every aspect of the **** web. You just put in the numbers and there you are.
The VPN thing: I can hook up to the VPN easily, but after that Entourage will no longer connect, using the same account settings on an Exchange server that worked a few weeks ago. I blame Microsoft's continuing campaign to make life difficult for mac users.

  • A pop-up window advising of software update for Firefox appears and does not connect with server

The window suggests strongly that I update software but when I attempt to update it does nothing but try to connect with server and never does

    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update (Software Update not working properly)
Remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.
You may need to delete active-update.xml and updates.xml as well if present.<br />
    XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\&lt;user&gt;\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
    (%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)
If you have problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
You may need to remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.
    Do a clean (re-)install:
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Firefox 32.0.1 on OSX 10.9.4 breaks non-EV https. I get "sec_error_ocsp_server_error". FF version 32 was good.

When connecting to to a non-ev https site, I receive an OCSP error specified above. The https://support.mozilla.org site uses extended validation and I can get to it without a problem. The previous version of FF worked fine - no OCSP errors for non-ev sites.

I was able to solve my own problem.
    Click on Firefox -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Certificates -> View Certs.->
then delete the certs and try again. This time it worked.

  • Connect two Mac's on oppsite sides of the country with "connect to server"

I work in a recording studio and we have a small network setup which allows us to share hard drives (sound fx libraries, etc...) and transfer files back and forth. This is done with a simple "connect to server" using an IP address. I am moving out of state but will still be working for the same company and I need to setup a similar connection for sharing files. Ive tried to test this off-site several times but it always times out. How can I set this up? Can't find anything on google (probably searching the wrong things)...

First, I want to say you must make sure you know which computer is doing the connecting, and which computer is receiving that connection. The computer you choose "Connect To Server" on is the one sending a connection request. The computer on which you go into SystemPreferences, Sharing and turn on your AFP sharing or FTP will accept the connection and needs to be accessible from the internet-at-large.
Keep in mind it will also be able to accept connections from anyone, and that may pose security risks. Keep passwords secure, and you could also ensure that your firewall accepts connections only from you. That's a highly paranoid move and you should only do it if you know what you're doing, because it's easy to break things.
All of the above posts are assuming that your computers are behind a router on what's called a private network. A quick layman's way to find out if you're on such a network is to open the System Preferences and view Network. Look at the IP address and if it's any of these, you're on a private network.
    10.any.any.any
    172.{16-31}.any.any
    192.168.any.any
    from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network
It's usually the last of these which routers hand out. Any other IP addresses on the machine you're trying to connect to Think of these private networks as not actually being on the internet. Your router handles the task of granting access to all of the computers on the network access to anything that lies outside the network, which is the internet. It fools the internet-at-large into believing there is only one computer at your address, and merging all requests for data into one, then correctly passing all the returned data to whichever computer in your home or office asked for it.
*Your router denies all requests for data at your home or office unless you set up "Port Forwarding* This includes attempting to connect to Personal Web Sharing, File Sharing, Printer Sharing, and, well... everything.
In order to allow anyone connecting into your network to fileshare with a given computer, you must configure the router. This is usually done with a web browser pointed at the router's address from a computer inside the network. You can find that router's address in System Preferences, Network. You will need the login and password, which may still be the default, and will depend entirely on which brand your router is.
Every router brand is different, and will have slightly different terms and instructions on how to configure your port forwarding. It might not even be called Port Forwarding. For example mine calls it "Virtual Server". Google search your router brand and model and you'll easily find some directions on how to do this.
The above posters have given you their opinions on which ports to forward. Keep in mind that you can only do this to one computer. If you want to do it to a second computer, here's how it will go:
The second computer will still listen on the same port. The router will accept connections on a different port, but will pass along the request at the port the second computer is listening on.
    Example.
public port 6000 send to private server: 192.168.0.12 private port 427
Again these terms can be called something different depending on which brand your router is.
You will "Connect to Server" like this.
    afp://YourofficenetworkIP:6000
If you want to tunnel through SSH that may require you to use different ports, but the procedure is the same.

  • "Connect to server" inserts "afp://" in front of "vnc://"? 10.4.11

Hi All: I have a macbook running 10.4.11 connecting to the internet through a wireless router. I'm trying to connect to a vnc server in a remote location. When I go to "connect to server" and enter:
    vnc://[ip address]
the "connecting to server" window pops up, but I see in there "connecting to afp://vnc//[ip address]"
where it seems to be inserting "afp://" in front of what I entered, and stripping out the colon after "vnc"
    What am I doing wrong?

Hi BD: I'm not sure I understand all your questions...let me clarify the topology.
The system I'm trying to connect to has a VNC server running on it and is accessible through a public IP. I'm trying to connect to that system across the 'net from my laptop. I don't have access to that system, but their IT guy assures me people are able to connect to it remotely and screen share.
Also, I'm able to connect to the remote computer using AFP...it's just VNC that's not connecting.
My laptop is on a local subnet connecting through a WAP that connects to a DSL router. I have not configured any special PAT or forwarding on my end that would be messing with an outgoing VNC connection. Again, I'm trying to connect as a client to a remote VNC server so I can share the screen of the server (I'm pretty sure the "server" is just a Mac with sharing enabled).

  • Access 2013 Read/Write Connection on 365

Have web tables all set up on 365 account.  Have set the connection management to Read/Write.  But I can't figure out how to link to them from a desktop Access app.
From within the desktop app if I use the External Data tab - to link to them - attempting the Sharepoint Lists - - - the tables don't appear.  Am pretty sure because the web tables on 365 are not Sharepoint Lists.
Have searched on this for awhile and am not finding instructions anywhere.  ...  One can get a Reporting desktop app set up with a single button but it is read only......sure wish it was this easy for read/write.....
    Appreciate any help......

It still possible to use a 2010 web application in 2013 that is using SharePoint tables, so some confusing here is legitimate.
In your case as you WELL note you using 2013, and thus as you WELL note it makes no sense to look for tables in SharePoint when clearly that is not where they reside.
To find the connection string in the web application just go file.
You see your application name, and below that
    Data Connectivity
In that you see the server name, and the database name. You can use your 365 Account as the logon + password.
However, for a read/write? In the above area, click on "manage" beside the connections.
In the list of options for connections such as "From any location", and the "Enable Read-write" connections, there is an option called:
    View Read-Write Connection Information
Click on the above option. This will result in a dialog box that gives you database name, and the user + password required to link to that database in read/write mode.
So you simply create a regular plane Jane desktop database.  You then choose external data and then choose ODBC. This will let you create a link to SQL server. How this works much the same as it always has in Access (more then 16+ years).  You
then type in the correct server + user information from above web application.
I do think you need to choose the new ODBC 11 (Native sql server driver) for this to work. So, don't choose SQL from the list of drivers, but choose the new native or ODBC 11 drivers when setting up the ODBC connection from Access.
