Connections to Home radio and Car Stereo

Do they have an accesory that would let me listen to my ipod through my car stereo when im driving and my home stereo when i'm at home?...An all in one deal?

Not sure if I understand what you meant, but my iPhone does detect my home wifi. I re-input the password, but it still doesn't connect.  I verified the account and password with Comcast, my internet provider, and they confirmed the info is correct.

  • Home stereo and car stereo connection

What are the EASISEST and BEST ways of connecting my iPod to both my home stereo and car stereo. I have done a search already and see that a connector with red and white ends will work with the home stereo. However I already have several items plugged into my stereo already. Also it is kind of difficult to reach the audio inputs on the back of my stereo. Can I just use the headphone input to get quality sound? Will this also work on my car stereo (which has an auxillary input)? I have seen that many recommend a dock, but the ones I have looked up are kind of pricy. Is it REALLY necessary? Thanks in advance.

I just got an Fifth gen video iPod , and part of the gift was a plug in the cigarette lighter power adapter to power the iPod and transmit a signal to the car radio on several select frequencies (about eight different RF settings)..
It was a gift...but I hear the transmitter would cost about a $100...
Works quite well...now - if only my car stereo speakers were only as good as the speakers on my gateway PC...(sigh).

  • Connecting my iPod to my car stereo

I am trying to find out the best way to connect my iPod to my car stereo. I know that there are lots of different ways. I have heard that if it is connected to a 3.5mm jack on the front of a car stereo and then into the headphone jack on the iPod it makes the sound quality inferior. I have seen USB ports on the front of stereo's and have also seen leads with ipod dock to 2 RCA leads which connect to the rear of the stereo, therefore making a more permanent fix. Which of these is best? I am happy to take the stereo out although i think that maybe it would be easier to buy a stereo with a front USB connector. Will this give good sound reproduction, and if so can i use the white usb lead which comes with iPods??? Please help.

You can find my car stereos that are ipod compatible.
Personally, I have an Alpine deck with an additional ipod adaptor which is hidden behind the dash and is accessable via the glovebox. The ipod adaptor is connected to the ipod through the dock connection enabling you to fully contral and access your ipod through the car stero while your ipod remains neatly tucked away (and hidden) in your glovebox. I believe they sell stereo head units that do not require and additional ipod adaptor... do a little research and I'm sure you can find something in your price range.
Also, to answer your first question, you shouldn't lose any sound qaulity if your car setup is done this way.

  • How do I connect my ipad to my car stereo without the ipad screen message 'Accessory connected'

How do I connect my ipad to a car stereo without the screen message showing, 'Accessory connected', which prevents me being able to select the music I want from ipad screen.

Read the stereos owners manual. My Pioneer deck has a setting to allow iPod control which works for the iPad as well.

  • Best way to connect my iPod to my car stereo?

My iTrip is a joke. What works best when wanting to connect my iPod directly to my car stereo when I must use the CD changer plug-in behind the stereo?

Kind of depends on what kind of stereo you have and
what options it has... is your stereo an aftermarket
stereo? Are you saying that you already have a cd
changer plugged into the aux input on your stereo?
I have an CD changer plug in on the back of my stereo, but there is nothing currently plugged into it. It's a stock radio with only a CD player, not a cassette. I need to plug something into the back of the radio, but I don't know which is the best kind to get. Thanks for the help.

  • How I can connect my ipad with my car stereo

I have ipad mini and I want to connect it to my car stereo wireless . My stereo doesn't have Bluetooth. Thank you :)

Without bluetooth, then you can't connect it.
What type/model of car stereo? Might be some alternative.

  • Connecting iPod video to Blaupunkt car stereo

Blaupunkt sells an adapter to connect iPods to their car stereo. Part number: 7607540500. It is compatible with the factory (Blaupunkt sourced) car stereo of my Fiat Panda model year 2005. The car stereo 'sees' the iPod as a Blaupunkt CD changer. It works well with the previous iPod but absolutely no-one can tell me if will work with the current video iPod that I'd like to purchase.

I talked to Blaupunkt support in the states and they say that they are aware of the problem! Now what kind of an answer is that? I agree with you, Blaupunkt should get on this problem and fix it. Blaupunkt catalog actually states that the Ipod interface works with any Blaupunkt head unit with CDC control since 1998+. On the interface box it says 2001+. The simple fact is they should get there "stuff" together and fix it!

  • 6210 Navigator, Bluetooth and car stereo

Hi there! I just got myself a Nokia 6210 Navigator, and i want to connect it with my car stereo for bluetooth use. I did so with my SonyEricsson T630 with great success. But when i try now, i follow the exact same steps as before, but it does not work. I do get the setup to finish, but when it tries to connect, it just disconnects after about 0.5 seconds. Ive tried several times, and i have deleted the paired phone and everything, but nothing seems to work. I can have 3 phones paired, so that should not be the problem.
The car stereo is a Pioneer DEH-P700BT.
Thanks for all help, and feel free to ask if you need some extra info. Thanks!

I have the 6210 Nav, the only way I can get it to connect is by going through the set up, then letting it link to BT Audioo first, once it sees that, I can select a different source and hey presto!
    But still not good enough!

  • IPod and car stereo.  Will it keep track of the play count?

I'm currently shopping around for a head unit for my car. I was just hoping someone could tell me whether or not the iPod still keeps track of play count when connected through a USB cable to the car stereo. I'm only wondering because I wasn't sure if this situation is similar to hooking and iPod to an XBOX 360 through the USB cable (which doesn't keep track of play count). If someone could please tell me what models do and don't keep track of play count, I'd really like to know. I'm particularly interested in the Alpine iDA-X305 so if someone could let me know about that one specifically, I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you for reading my post, and I appreciate any and all help given.

I don't think an car audio device would be smart enough to set up a connection that is like a computer's connection to an iPod. When I use my dumb docking speaker, the play count is kept for the next sync with my Mac.
So do you think it just has to do with the fact that an Xbox 360 is pretty much a computer, therefore the iPod reads the connection as though it was a connection to a computer?

  • A cheap way to connect my iPod to my car stereo?

I want to wire my iPod directly into my car stereo. Is there a way to do this without spending hundreds of dollars?

b Various Methods to Connect to a Car Stereo System, or Listen to Your iPod in the Vehicle
There are several ways to connect any iPod (or MP3 player) to a car audio system. There are also many opinions on which works better than others. Here is my synopsis:
    b Best Way:
Direct connection via the dock connector or headphone jack to a mini-jack input into your car stereo. Not many low/moderate-end cars have this feature yet, but it is becoming more popular. Some aftermarket auto stereo units have this feature. There are also some after-market, fairly expensive adaptors that hook into your existing car stereo that will provide a direct connection. Pretty slick, but pricey. If money is no object, a clean way to go. See:
    http://www.myradiostore.us/auxadapters/blitzsafe/blitzsafe-m-link-ipod-interface .html
    http://www.theistore.com/ipod2car.html
    http://www.mp3yourcar.com/productdetails.asp?productID=175
    b Better:
Connect your iPod to a cassette adaptor and play your tunes through your car's cassette player. In my opinion (via testing in my car using the accessories I have), it has better fidelity than FM transmitters. Some new cars no longer come with a cassette player, so it may not be an option.
    b Good:
Attach one of the many FM transmitter devices to your iPod and play the tunes through an unused FM station. Some noticeable degradation and distortion may be heard - depending on the sensitivity of your ears and the airwave congestion in your area.
    b Marginal:
Attach an external speaker system to the iPod and play it in the car. Workable, but not too good - unless you spring for a $300+ Bose (or similar) system. But why? Only if your vehicle has no Stereo system, perhaps.
Whichever you choose, power the iPod through a DC adapter running from the car. See the reviews below for choices on all the accessories mentioned above, and more.
See the reviews of various accessories at the iPodLounge here:
    http://www.ipodlounge.com/index.php/reviews/review_grades/
I have read both positive and negative reviews of each method, and within method, there are great variations in performance of different manufacture's systems – and peoples’ opinions of their performance. Some cassette adaptors work poorly, some better. I got lucky with my choices and have not had any big problems, yet...
BTW - I have a Belkin cassette adaptor and an iTrip Mini FM transmitter (as well as a Newer Technology RoadTrip!+). Using the same song in the same car, I found that the cassette adaptor worked significantly better for me than the FM transmitters.

  • Can't connect to Home Network and Printer

    hi,
I just bought my first mac, its a macbook with leopard, and am having quite a bit of trouble connecting it to our home network. I'm not much of a computer whiz, so i have no idea what to do. Our network doesn't have any security, but does need a password, and each time i try to connect it after putting in my name and password it says "The Volume cannot be Mounted" and then comes up with an error message saying "an unexpected error occurred". And because i cannot connect to the network i cannot connect to our printers and need them desperately, i start uni in a week!
    what can i do?
    thanks
    dan
if more details are needed let me know...

What version of Leopard are you using? I asked because Apple just released 10.5.2.
Plus if you are adding a lone Mac to a windows network then read the user reports at MacWindows.com (you should have the site bookmark if you are going to mix Macs into PC networks).

  • IPad3 loses connection to home network and same happens to laptops.

I purchased the new IPad a week ago. Since then, I often lose connection to home network. Cannot join network unless I power off and on the modem/router. This also hapens every morning. The same is now happening with our  wireless laptops.  Never had any problems all these years until the iPad was introduced to our network. Our Internet provider confirmed that modem/router protocols were set per advice from Apple Support and they did additional tweaking but problem persists. I am thinking of getting a new modem and router but wonder if it is worth it. Has anyone had similar problems where their other devices are having the same connection issues as the iPad? Thanks.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • Ios 4.2.1 won't connect to 'made for iPod' car stereo

I wish I'd NOT updated from ios 3.1.3. Then I could listen to music on my iPod (touch, 2nd gen, 8gb) in my car via the car stereo (Kenwood KDC-W6541U) USB port with not problems.
Ever since I updated to ios 4.0 (and 4.1 which didn't solve the problem either) whenever I plug my iPod the car stereo display flashes 'reading'. I've checked the Kenwood website, but there are no updates for the stereo.
I'd hoped the 4.2.1 update would've resolve the problem, but it didn't. The main reason I'd bought an iPod was to listen music in the car!
Recently I've not bought anything from iTunes, whats the point as I can't listen to it.
I'm getting disillusioned. I've tried plugging/unplugging, switching on/off, resetting, etc, etc with no success. Anyone got any ideas?
Apple, get this sorted, please! ios 3.1.3 worked fine.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. i have a kenwood kvt-514 head unit. once i updated my ipod touch to v4.2.1 some songs didn't play, no album artwork was displayed, ect. i tried doing all of the above and nothing. hopefully apple is working this out.

  • IPhone 3G and Car Stereos

Now that it's out, can anyone tell me if they interface with iPod compatible car stereos like regular and touch iPods do?
    Thanks!

There is another really long thread (more than 50 posts) where people were reporting which seemed to work and which did not. In general, none of the old iPod-based players worked. Direct line-in all seemed to work (the ones that go from the headset jack to the aux in on your car stereo). The handful that were designed for iPhone seem to work with iPhone 3G. The same is not true for Touch-compatible ones.

  • Why is it that when I connect my iPod to my car stereo through USB, some of the songs don't appear and play when these songs are on my playlist normally?

    Hello all
This has been bugging me for a little while. I bought myself a new bluray player awhile back and it has a USB hookup for ipods. This goes the same with my vehicle too. I have a few good playlists with some great songs, however, when i hooked it up to my bluray player, some of the songs didn't appear in the playlist that are not normally there. I disconnected the ipod and had a look on the screen and sure enough the songs are there, but they are just not appearing on the bluray player. This only happens for some songs, not all of them. I was disappointed at this because I really wanted to hear my songs. So I decided to download the WHOLE album off of itunes from which I got the song from and sure enough, this time the song appeared on my bluray player and it played in the playlist.
Why is this? Is there a way to make it so that I can have all the songs play without downloading all of the albums?

Did the original songs that do not appear on the car player play in the Music app on the iPod? Sometimes glitches happen and they do not. Also, If y ohave a 5G iPod/iOS 7, purchase songs  will show with an cloud icon by them if they are not downloaded if Shall All is turned on in Settings>iTunes and App Store
