Consistency Checking Perform

Hi,
what are the minimum criteria to pass consistency checking for a given repository?
Regards
sandhya

hi Sandhya,
If you go thorugh the BI Admin guide CTRL+E-->Options -->help u will find the plenty of information about the best practices we need to follow
Repository metadata must pass a consistency check before you can make the repository available for queries. The Consistency Check Manager allows you to enable and disable rules for consistency checks, navigate to and fix inconsistent objects, and limit the consistency check to specific objects.
The Consistency Check Manager does not check the validity of objects outside the metadata using the connection. It only checks the consistency of the metadata and not any mapping to the physical objects outside the metadata. If the connection is not working or objects have been deleted in the database, the Consistency Check Manager will not report these errors.
The consistency checker returns the following types of messages:
Error. These messages describe errors that need to be fixed. Use the information in the message to correct the inconsistency, and then run the consistency checker again. The following is an example of an error message:
[38082] Type of Hierarchy '"0RT_C41"..."0RT_C41/MDF_BW_Q02"."Product Hierarchy for Material MARA"' in Cube Table '"0RT_C41"..."0RT_C41/MDF_BW_Q02"' needs to be set.
NOTE: If you disable an object and it is inconsistent, you will receive a message asking if you want to make it unavailable for queries.
Warning. These messages indicate conditions that may or may not be errors, depending upon the intent of the Oracle BI Administrator. For example, a warning message about a disabled join may be the result of the Oracle BI Administrator intentionally disabling a join, such as eliminating a circular join condition. The following is an example of a warning message:
[39024] Dimension '"Paint"."MarketDim"' has defined inconsistent values in its levels' property 'Number of elements'.
Best practices. These messages provide information about conditions but do not indicate an inconsistency. The message appears if a condition violates a best practice recommendation. The following is an example of a best practice message:
[89001] The Physical Table '"XLS_Forecast"."Forecast".."Sheet1$"' has no keys defined.
Apart from these joins,content levels,column formulas ,syntax's ....

I want to install SQL Server 2008 November CTP Developer Enu. When "System Configuration Check" it shows:

But just out of curiosity does anyone know the syntax for the language codes? (009 for English, 004 for Chinese and 0404?

  • Aperture freezes when performing a "Consistency Check"

    Hi everyone,
today I have updated my Aperture 1.x library to a brand new Aperture 2.1 one.
Unfortunately the conversion process freezed (it looked like it was finished because the little conversion window had disappeared) and, after waiting a very long time, i forced-quit Aperture.
Everything seems to be fine (all the pictures are there...) but I still don't feel very safe.
So I decided to rebuild the library and perform a consistency check: the former went fine while the latter freezes Aperture (I have waited 1+ hour).
Is that a bug or am I doing something wrong?
    Thank you.

    I apologize for disturbing.
I did a fourth "Consistency Check" and it went fine.
    Thank you!

  • Error on install: Performance counter registry hive consistency check - Status:Failed

Hi, I'm tryng to install sql server 2008 in win vista and in the System Configuration Check, item: Performance counter registry hive consistency check has the status FAILED  all the others items has PASSED and the setup stops here theonly option is CANCEL. Thus anyone knows the possible problem and resolution to this?
    best regards

There is another post discussing the same issue as yours.  The subject of post is:
How to resolve "Performance counter registry hive consistency check" failed?
Please refer that post and see if it resolves the issue.   The bottom line is that you need to rebuild the perfmon counter, correct the bad registry key hive, and then you can install SQL Server 2008.
If the reference of post doesn’t resolve the problem, please use “regedit.exe” to export the following registry key hive to a file, and then post the file here.
    “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib”
Once I get the file, I will try to rebuild the perfmon counter for you.
The tool “regedit.exe” usually exports registry keys to files with extension “.reg”.   If you post the file, please rename it to the extension “.txt” so that it can reach to the forum.
    Thanks.

  • OBIEE Consistency Check is taking too much time

    Hi,
When I run consistency check globally, it takes too much time. Itt  is waiting after completing about %80 of it. I can't click on it, the application is freezing. How can I recover it? What can be the cause of this problem?
    Thank you for your attention,

    Hello Mohan,
The DBTABLOG table does get large, the best is to switch off logging. If that's not possible, increase the frequency of your delete job, also explore one more alternative have a look at the archival object: BC_DBLOGS, you could archive old records (in accordance with your customer's data retention policies) to reduce the size of the table.
Also, have a look at the following notes, they will advise you on how to improve the performance of your delete job:
Note 531923 - Audit Trail: Indexes on table DBTABLOG
Note 579980 - Table logs: Performance during access to DBTABLOG

  • Report Group 1SIP Consistency Check

SAP reccomends the following to be consitency check for CO customers for system copy:
"CO customers: An additional consistency check can be performed by running the report group 1SIP before the system copy in the source system, as well as after the copy in the target system, and then comparing the results. No customer data may be changed in the meantime."
    I have the following question:
    1. By "Running the Report Group" does SAP mean running the individual reports under the Report Group 1SIP?
Edited by: Asim M on May 23, 2008 6:49 PM

    Hi,
Yes, that is what is meant, i.e. report 1SIP-001 or TA S_ALR_87013611. In this case report group and report are synonymous as there is only one report assigned to the 1SIP report group (customer reports should never be assigned to SAP standard report groups). Therefore running 1SIP via TA GR55 results in the same output.

  • Consistency check error 38011: Logical tables from multiple subject areas..

I received multiple 38011 errors when performing a consistency check after merging repositories:
    For example:
Logical tables from multiple subject areas associated, OHRP and Enterprise Warehouse
(OHRP and Enterprise Warehouse refer to different business models)
I'm really not sure what this means, and Metalink and Google aren't turning up anything.
    Thoughts?
    -John

    John,
Does it say anything about Assertion Failure? Also, this is straight up from help regarding import (through file menu) "Use this option when the objects you import are unrelated to objects already in the repository such as when the business model and physical layer objects do not exist. If an object of the same name and type exists, the import process overwrites the existing object with the new object. When you import objects from one repository into another, the repository from which you are importing must be consistent."
Sometimes Merge does bring unexpected (and unwanted results) - especially if there're presentation aliases, duplicate business models, or naming conflicts. If it's not too late, I suggest you use Import, rather than Merge, also, preferably starting with a new RPD file. This would enable you to bring items piece-by-piece and hopefully would allow you to isolate the problem.
Also, depending on the size - it's sometimes preferable to just reproduce missing part(s). I hope this is helpful.
Also, I forgot to say - the Import is deprecated and not supported. They suggest you use Project Extract and Merge. If Merge isn't working out for you and Import isn't an option - maybe you could try Project.

  • Routing Consistency Check in batch ?

    Hey folks!
A business requirement has been raised to perform a consistency check for all Routing Task Lists for a specific plant.  I'm aware of the consistency check within the Routing that can be performed online.  Anyone know of a batch/background job that can validate routings and report errors?
The business case is as follows:  Reference Operation Sets are utilized within Routing Task Lists.  If a change is made to the Reference Operation Set (say add additional operations) and these additional operations conflict in the routing this ROS is utilized, this will cause a routing error.  Yet there is no way to identify this error until someone checks the routing or writes a production order against.
Any help on the above would be great.  Points are waiting to be awarded!

    Nathan,
I do not think there is a background program that can run to check for such inconsistency.
However when MRP runs system will detect routing inconsistency & will display exception message against planned order.
So nett result is MRP controller will know about this much before he converts planned order to production order.
They can look for exception messages either under Tcode: MD04/ MD05 or collectively under MD06/MD07 group by exception message.
Message 62 - Scheduling: Master data inconsistent is one such message & it falls under Exception group 4 in standard SAP.
So if MRP controller checks Tcode : MD06 & limits selection criteria by exception group 4 messages he can nail down all such errors in advance.
    Thanks,
    Ram

  • Security, Consistency Check, Physical Model

    Hi experts,
    just THREE questions:
1- the following object-level security configurations: "Assign users to a web catalog group" and "Create a Web catalog group" could be done in the BI Administration Tool?
2- a consistency check can be performed over a selection of multiple dimension hierarchies?
3- is it possible modify the physical model of a repository for add a derived metric column, and define this column as a value like "dollar divided by units"?
I think it's possible only through database manipulation and not Administration Tool. Is it right???
    Thanks a lot.

You can do it in BMM layer ..as a logical column without manipulating DB.

  • Spool Consistency Check

    Hello,
We are facing spool consistency error messages in SM21. Later we found that there are no spool consistency jobs running in our system. Of late, I have started running RSTS0020 three times daily with an interval of one hour between each run. Whatever object I find repeating in all the three runs, I delete only those.
I am trying to automate this process. What job do I schedule to perform the same task. One more question that haunts me is, even if I schedule a report to run at midnight every day, how can I delete the inconsistent object shown in the report, automatically. And don't I need to schedule the job three times with an interval of one hour between each job schedule? I am not sure how do I go about this. I am confused. Please help.
    Thank you.

Thank you for responding. If you had read my question correctly, I am also doing the same. I am running RSTS0020 in SE38 which, is the same as SP12 consistency check because, SP12 consistency check runs RSTS0020 in the background. But, my question was different. Here is my question again.
As per note 48400, you have to run RSTS0020 three times with an interval of one hour each. So, currently I am running this manually and at the end of every run, you get the output of inconsistent objects. What I do is, I take a screenshot of all the three runs then compare them. I select the check boxes and delete only those objects that has been repeated in all the three runs.
I know we can run RSTS0020 in the background but, I don't know how can I perform the later part of the above task. I mean when I execute RSTS0020 in the background, how can I delete the inconsistent objects? Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Justin,
The Link Aggregate you've configured is what's referred to as dynamic, and as such it will use the Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) to negotiate with the link partner i.e., the server, on a number of parameters to use for the forming and control of the aggregate.
What we can see from the show port-channel summary command is that the links are in the Individual (I) state. This is usually an indication that the remote device is not sending LACPDU frames. You should be able to see this by checking the Recv column in the output of show lacp counters interface port-channel 204 command. It will most likely be 0.
If that's the case you'll need to check with the server guys how they have the aggregate configured. It must be using NIC teaming software supporting something along the lines of IEEE 802.3ad Dynamic (HP), IEEE 802.3ad or mode=4 (Linux) or LACP with VMware ESXi.
If you're connecting to a server whose OS only supports static link aggregation e.g., VMware ESXi prior to version 5.1, then you should change the Nexus configuration to use static Link Aggregation with the channel-group 204 mode on command under the Ethernet1/12 interface. Note that you can't change the keywords used with the channel-group command, but have to remove it and add it back using the on keyword.

    Hi Sushil
It seems your vpc peering is perfect but there is some problem with the port channel configuration (po216). It would be nice to share the configuration. The port configuration must be same on both switches part for physcial interface.

  • RSRV - BIA Consistency-Check (fast).

    Hi Experts,
At RSRV whilst doing the "Consistency-Checks (fast)" under BI accelerator node on a cube (this cube is on BIA) I'm ending up with message "Index of table /BI0/XCRM_IBEXID must be regenerated".
Any idea on what does that mean? And how to address this?
    Regards.

    Hi Kumar ,
Due to some reasons your index for that cube is lost.Due to this their is inconsistency .
Your index and BIA correspond to each other .
    Suggested solution :
    1.Go to cube ->manage ->performance ->DBindex create. or
2.You can go to tcode SE38 and run a report RSANAORA ..Here you can give your cube name and can repair the index .
3.For multiple index correction you can SAP_INFOCUBE_INDEXES_REPAIR report program .
In Tcode DB20 you can get statistics of all indexes in diagnostics ->missing table and indexes.
4.Possible reason of index inconsistency is some new loads (hierarchy etc ) or deletion of some old requests that you have already indexed.
Hope this will be helpful .

    Jaya Tiwari

  • Connection dropped between DPM and Agent during consistency check, following DPM 2012 SP1 to DPM 2012 R2

Recently I have updated a DPM 2012 SP1 standalone server to DPM 2012 R2. That it’s self was a challenge... Following the upgrade most of the protection groups required consistency checks. For some time I have been having problems performing these consistency
checks on remote servers over a 10Meg link.
On the DPM server I would kick off a ping to the remote host, then start a consistency check. Within a few seconds I would start to get dropped pings, and very large ping response times, 3000ms plus. Within 3 minutes the pings would time out completely and
no connections can be made to the remote server, RDP etc. However any other server on the network can connect to the remote client. Eventually the DPM jobs times out and sometime later the pings also return.
The resolution to this has taken some digging but this is what I have found. The DPM agent update does not seem to fully work and requires a reinstall. Here is my process:
    Logon to remote client server
Install .net 4 (a raw install of the client requires this, may not be needed when done via DPM)
Via Add Remove Programs, remove DPM agent
    Clean up Reg
    Delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager"
Delete "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\DPM**" (However this key is not there for me)
    Back onto DPM Server
Modified protection groups as required to remove all instances of the client server
    Remove Agent for client server
Install agent via DPM (watch for the glitch right at the end where it does a failed, then succeed…)
    REBOOT client server
    Add back into protection group
    Consistency check kicked off automatically
This seems to have fixed the issue.

    Hi,
The prerequisite required for DPM 2012 SP1 that must be installed is a re-rerelease of UR3 which is 4.1.3317.0 - please download and install the update specified.

  • VACUUM/Consistency Check - How long should it take?

Upon opening Aperture (2.1.4) I got a dialogue saying I should perform a consistency check. I started the consistency check "Running VACUUM on database" 12 hours ago. The progress bar is only three quarters finished. It hasn't changed in 3 hours. I'm mindful of posts saying not to interrupt this process. How long should I have to wait?

I tried to VACUUM my library twice. Each time aperture froze my entire machine.
I couldn't force quit anything, switching apps only froze the app I went to. the power button didn't trigger the dialog so I was forced to force the computer off. Holding the power switch for 5 or so seconds. Now the machine will not pass the boot screen, spinning below the apple. I re-installed snow leopard and tried again, thinking it was something else.
It seems that this is a bug with aperture and should be looked into by apple.
I was running 10.6.2 now I have to re-install again. I dont know any other option.
I tried tech tool pro and diskwarrior rebuilding the directory, no difference.
I think I will just have to make a new library and take the orignal files and re-import them all back into aperture.
