Contact grouping question

How do I create a sub-group in the new iPhone 3G?
And is it possible to send e-mail or test message to multiple people without needing to add every single person from my contact list one at a time?

Ok. It is no so dificult. You just tap the pic on you album and hold it till the copy pop up. copy a pic and past in to contact photo frame, then bingo!!! You get smal pic on the top side of your screen.

  • N8 Second Contacts group question

In my Outlook I have two contact groups, one with telephone numbers and another for email addresses and other information.
I would like to have them also in my N8, how  canI do this?

Not aware that you can, I have all contact details attached to my contacts(Home, Work, Mobile and email addresses) and select which contact method I want to use !

  • Not all emails are showing up when using a contact group

    Hi,
I haven't seen a similar question posted to the forum, so hopefully someone can help me.
I have a MBP running Mavericks 10.9.5 and I'm trying to create a contact group to expedite emails. I've created the group in my mac's contact app, however when I select the group to email (regardless of if I select "send email to..." in contacts or do a search for the group directly in the To:  line of the email) only 2 of the 6 contacts in the group show up.
Some troubleshooting I've already tried:  adding the same group to all the accounts in the contacts app (i.e. iCloud, On My Mac and my personal email account); verifying there's only one email address shown in each of the individual contact cards; switching all the email address labels from "email" to "home" in each contact person's card; and the classic restart.
It's always the same 2 contacts of the 6 that show up, so I'm assuming there must be something those two have the the others don't. I appreciate any ideas on what else to try.
    Thanks!

Thanks. I had the first row colored as a header but it wasn't defined as a header. As soon as I did that within Numbers the table appeared.

  • Contacts: Specify which email address to use in Contact Group?

I have a few mailing lists that I keep in Contacts. However, I have multiple email addresses for some of these contacts. When I send an email to the list, the wrong email address will be used for some of the contacts.  Is it possible to specify a default email address for a contact? Or a way to specify which email address of a contact should be used for each Contact group?
    Thanks!

    Yes.
So select the group in Contacts. Then choose Edit->Edit Distribution List... and you can pick which of the emails you want to use for the group in question.
It took me a while to find it, but I've done it before so I managed to turn it up

  • Contact Groups....again....

It's been 14 years of nothing but blackberry for me.  Currently use a 9930, as does everyone in my company.  While I find it impossible to believe my use is so unique compared to others, let me highlight the significance of my concern by setting the table about my use.  I receive approx 400-500 e-mails per day.  95% of those e-mails are web generated leads.  100% of those web generated leads are forwarded by me to various contact groups (created locally in outlook and synched wirelessly through bes to my 9930 device).  The contact groups consist of teams across the country that follow up on the web leads, and range in size from 5 - 30 contacts.  My workflow....my company's workflow....everything we on a minute-by-minute basis....revolves around the ability to use contact groups.
I have not taken the plunge to either the Z or the Q.  As things stand now, doing so would ruin my business because of the removal of the contact groups feature.  My only options at this point seem to be to either stick with the 9930 and hope things turn around for blackberry (and my 9930 doesn't break as the devices are no longer sold in stores and my provider, Verizon, is now holding new ones for insurance replacement claims), or switch to the iPhone, which has an app called MailShot Pro that offers the distribution list functionality I need (the android system does not seem to have an equivalent of MailShot Pro).
I have read about this issue at least half a dozen times on this forum.  Clearly this is a function others want...and need.  I have seen J. Sanders respond to many of the discussions on this issue, with one of the more recent discussions quoting a chat he had with someone from blackberry who said that this functionality was "on the roadmap"...or something to that effect.
And so I am asking...since I read about releases that have come out and others that are coming out...none of which add (return) this functionality....can anyone clarify with some measure of definition if and WHEN this function is returning?  I appreciate that it's "on the roadmap"...but I don't know if that means 3 months or 5 years.  Given that my company's livelihood literally revolves around contact groups, the issue is nothing short of critical for me.
I know blackberry is going through the pains of trying to re-define itself.  I appreciate that this operating system is brand new and will take time to "perfect".  But it's extremely difficult to understand why something like this would be removed.  At this point, I don't really care why.....I'm just hoping someone here who's in-the-know can shed some light on whether and WHEN this is coming back.
    Thanks.

Perhaps you have misunderstood the purpose of these forums. This is a user-to-user community of volunteers trying to help each other out. It is not a channel for any formal communications with, escalations to, nor support from BlackBerry.
Hence, the answer to your question there is no -- unless you happen to become the lucky recipient of the occasional posts from formal BB folks. But, if I were you, I'd not expect that, especially given the content...they hardly ever reveal any forward looking information here on this site (for, after all, to do so would also be a technical violation of the Ts and Cs of the site).

  • Contact Groups not updating

So I recently set up a few groups of contacts in my MobileMe account. The usual friends, family, businesses, etc. I had "push" set to on and the next day I checked my contact groups on my phone. I could see the groups listed, but when I opened any group, it was a blank list.
I double checked that I had properly set up the contact groups in my MobileMe account and found that they are still setup properly.
So my question is does anyone know why I'm getting the newly created groups pushed to my phone without any of the contacts that should be included listed?

There is an easier fix for this than creating a dummy contact. You just need to refresh the Mobile Me account on your iPhone. Follow these steps to do so and all of the contacts you put in the groups on MobileMe will show up on your phone.
    1. On Iphone go to "Settings"
    2. In settings, go to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
    3. Under the Accounts, select your MobileMe Account
    4. Turn the Contacts button to "Off". You will get a pop up stating "Synced Contacts will be removed from your iPhone". Click the "Stop Syncing" button. This will remove all your MobileMe Contact data from your iPhone. When you select the button you will see a window with a spinning icon stating "Turning of Syncing". Wait for this to finish.
    5. Once Syncing has been turned off. Turn it back on again.
    6. Hit the home button to exit the settings.
    7. Open up the Contacts application. When you first open it, there will be no contact data, but the network activity indicator will be spinning. The phone is downloading all the MobileMe data again.
    8. Once it is done, you will see all the contacts (but the group button will be missing). Hit the home button again to exit the app.
    9. Open the Contacts app again. The Groups button will appear. Click on the group you created and you will see all the contacts you added on MobileMe for that group.
It looks like every time you add a new group you will need to do this. But if you only add a new contact to an existing group, it will update on the iPhone with no problem.

  • Contact groups field

If your question is "Can I add/view additional fields in the Contact Group members display window?" - the answer is no. The details about what you will be able to see for any individual Contact Group member will be dictated by whether the contact
item is from a contact folder, the Exchange GAL or a one-off item (and in this case - only the name and email address are available).

  • ActiveSync and Personal Contact Groups for Mobile (incl Windows Phone)

    Hello,
As more MDM's (including BES10, Airwatch, native Windows Phone etc - besides Good For Enterprise) are moving towards EAS for enterprise e-mail sync, and I myself have 2 devices which have forced me to use EAS, I noticed that the various personal contact
groups that I've created in Outlook are no longer available from these devices. Only on my BES 7 blackberry torch can I still find the personal distribution lists a.k.a. contact groups (not from GAL, but created in outlook) to appear, probably since it doesn't
use EAS.Is there a way to enable syncing personal distribution lists? It seems to be a real productivity killer to not have this ability and to try and remember the group's members or select them especially for larger lists each time.
    Thank you

Thanks for the reply (although the link you provided is referencing using Outlook 2013 for Outlook.com type hosted accounts). My situation is Outlook in an on-prem enterprise Exchange environment but with mobile devices that connect to exchange via EAS.
If the response is still the same, then my follow up question is - why not? And what is the alternative to "contact groups" in the EAS world?

  • HT4968 How to Create Birthday Calendars using different contact groups.

I am trying to create photo calendars as a gift including birthdays using either iCloud or iPhoto 11. However each calendar is different - do not want all birthdays on all calendars. I've tried creating separate contact groups but it seems they all appear no matter what. Isn't there a way to create a master birthday list and assign each person to the calendars that I want the birthday to appear on?
I am using Mac OS X 10.8.5 and have Adobe Creative Cloud, iPhoto, etc.

    Hi Chirag,
I've read the following link, but the question is....
    - Where is the link to create transport groups? That is my only question It's as easy as that
Found it...sorry I knew it was easy

  • Active Synch and contact groups

    HI,
I have a new Blackberry passport running 10.3 synching with Office 365 using Active synch and I have one annoying issue. All emails, contacts, tasks, etc.. work fine and synch correctly. However I have my contacts grouped into different folders on exchange and Outlook and these do not seem to synch across to the BB device. My question is there any way to get this to work as I realy do not want to manually resort 600 contacts on my device.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You can't edit them on your phone.  You have to do that on icloud.com using your computer.

  • Specifying certain contact groups to sync to iPhone via Mobile Me?

I'm hoping someone has an answer to this question. Pre MobileMe, I could specify in iTunes which groups of contacts (from Address Book) to sync to my iPhone. Now, I seem to have no control over this, resulting in about 1300 contacts on my iPhone. Needless to say, browsing contact info on my iPhone is sluggish.
Anyone know how to limit which contact/Address Book groups get sync via MobileMe to my iPhone?
    Tx,
    Bob

I don't believe this is possible.
All contacts and contact groups available in the Address Book on your Mac are kept synchronized with your MM online address book. I'm not aware of an option to sync only select Address Book groups in the Address Book on your Mac.

  • Outlook 2010 Contact Group restrict to only send using BCC

After spending a few hours online looking for an answer, I think it is time to ask creative minds. Basically, I send an email to 15 different contact groups all at once (700 email addresses). I need them to not be able to see the other email addresses
in the group and not be able to "reply all" to everyone on the email. The easy answer is just put them all under BCC, but sometimes I accidently send the email with the contact groups in the "To" field. I would like something
that stops my error permanently. Either by automatically setting those groups to the BCC field when selected (instead of the To field) or something else. Any ideas?

  • How to delete a contact group on the iPhone?

    Hello!
I've been searching for a way to delete a contact group on the iPhone, but I was not able to find one. The only answers I have found tried to tell me that it is not possible to do this on the iPhone. But I can hardly believe that the people at Apple would be so stupid not to include such a thing, as there are iPhone users who do not own a computer. How should they manage their contacts?
So, would someone please be so kind and tell me how to delete a contact group on the device?
    TIA,
    Jan

  • TS4002 How do I send email to a Contacts Group list?

How do I send email to a Contacts Group list?

Thank you for your quick reply. I've had a MAC for several years but never used this option. (We are all infants when doing something for the first time. A recent TBI has also stunted my figure-it-out-yourself ability.) I appreciate your help. (PS I want to indicate this solved my question, but I can't see where to do that!)

  • HT6065 Mavericks and Mail Contact Groups

Fixes an issue that prevented contact groups from working properly in Mail?
No it doesn't - unless you ask Apple Care how.
I had to have a lengthy session with a Senior Advisor to sort out this and for the record this is what was subsequently sent to me, which resolved the issue, but not everyone may be aware of the solution as stipulated below.
'Upon checking the issue with the engineering team, it seems the issue should be resolved but the feature of emailing a group of contacts has changed.
There are several ways to send a email to one your groups. I have put them in the preferred order.
    1) Type the name of the contact group into the "To field" of the email. i,e Group Name "NHW" - Type this into the "To" field. This should allow you to send a email to everyone in this group.
    2) Right click on the group name inside "contacts" then choose the option "Send Email to Group Name".
    3) Copy and paste the list of contacts from the group and paste them into the 'To" field in Mail.'
    Hope this helps
    Mario

Hi - I saw this reply from someone else wiht the same question ... its not perfect, but its a BIG step forward.
I had the same problem this morning.  Here's what APPLE help said:
Open Address Book from the Dock
Hold down CTRL key and then click on your group.
The option to "send email"  or "export...." should be there and click on it.  A new email will appear with your group names.
If you have "right click" enabled, open Address Book, and right click on your Group.  The same window "export or send email" should appear.  Click on send email.
Hope that works for you.  It helped me.
